Gentle Dental is the best dentistry I have ever had. From the friendly office personnel to the dental hygienist and the dentist, they truly are kind, caring and gentle. They take the time to care for each patient individually and I always feel at home and that I am getting the best care possible.

I’m not a big fan of going to the Dentist from past experiences. But I must say the Fresno Gentle Dental team has changed my view on Dentist visits. They are professional, respectful but most of all gentle not to forget quick. I’m gonna give them a five star rating because that whole team deserves it especially Corrine she is a sweetheart the whole team is awesome thank you all and I will see you guys soon.

If you like waiting hours to be seen and being rescheduled all the time and being scheduled far out this is the place for you. They went so skimpy on the fills they did on my son’s two cavities that the cavities came back, my new dentist had to redo one other is still too small but is likely going to also need to be refilled. My crown they did didn’t fit right i was there for hours tryin to get it to work out, they filed it so far down to try to make it fit it doesn’t even look like a real tooth anymore. I need another crown but so glad i didnt let them do it cause my new denist did my husbands and his were a breeze. Me and my family are So happy with the place I moved to. I seriously don’t know why I took so long to change dentists.

This place should be out of the business. I have revisions every year and of course there is always some things. I went for the first time to this place to have a revision and have a crown and they came with a bill of more than $30,000. I was in shock it never happens to me. it was really insulting came with that amount of money. I went over the estimate at home and when I removed all the extras, and things that I dont really need and the insurance wont cover because I dont need them the total amount was basically less than a thousand dollar. I told them that I want only what I need the crown without extras and they say that they will ask the doctor to have his ok and call me back. They never call me back. What they mean to have the doctor approval. Im the patient and I have the right to decide what exactly I want and how much money spend. Honestly Im very disappointed and I will never come back.

That’s unheard of. Office staff is amazing. Erika, the Office Manager is very friendly, and always greets you with a smile. Oh my God. I was stoked to set an affordable appointment for a cleaning / X-ray / check up... Until someone called me the NEXT day and TOTALLY changed the pricing and EVERYTHING on me. Now I can only get a check up the first visit and the cleaning will have to be the second visit... oh ya and instead of 65 dollars for a cleaning they are charging 150 per QUADRANT that’s 600 dollars. NO THANK YOU. Worse customer service ever. Literally terrible.

Overall had a good visit. The Staff were all nice & welcoming. Dr explained x-rays & treatment plan thoroughly. I have never had a dentist suggest that I need invisiline or braces. I’ve always been told that I have straight teeth for never having braces before. I brush my teeth at least 3x a day because I don’t like feeling sugars or food on my teeth & I have never been told I needed a “deep” clean. When office manager was going over my bill she said I didn’t qualify for a regular clean because Dr said I needed a deep clean. So I had to pay out of pocket a couple hundred dollars for the “deep” clean. I had a cleaning 6 months prior before I moved to California. The deep clean did feel good but if I’m ever suggested it again i will decline as I did not see that it was really any different than a regular cleaning.

Dental hygienist is friendly, its a good dentist office but the girls at the front desk r either lazy or dumb lol. Ive been going here for years and they always say my insurance covers something and it doesnt. Every time w a new procedure something always happens. I have been going to this dentist office for many years. Doctor Mallela is wonderful, he is very caring and thoughtful and always takes his time to make sure everything is done right. My hygienist- Ellen is such a joy to talk with. She does her best to make it a comfortable visit and she is easy to talk to about concerns. They have two of the best dental assistants I have ever met, they are both very knowledgeable and I have been super impressed with them. All in all, the staff is wonderful and they always seem to be organized. It may take a little while sometimes but I know it is because the doctor is so focused on doing the best he can for each patient.

Erica, is impossible to work with! Handed over my insurance card to determine what my out of pocket expense would be for an initial consult and cleaning. They have a surprise billing practice apparently, because I couldnt get a straight answer. Who likes surprise billings? Chosing another office. If you like surprise billing, this might be the place for you.

I feel like I was sold a cheap car after coming here. While I was in the chair, the dentist suggested something better for my teeth and I agreed. They didnt tell me it wasnt covered by my insurance! I discussed this matter with JESSICA, the service coordinator and she apologized and was going to help me take care if it. I called her several times because I hadnt heard anything and had not received a bill until several months later when I received one bill that said PAST DUE. I called her several times and left messages....never heard back. Now i just received a letter from a collection agency! This place is such a RIP OFF! Of course I will contest this. It seems unethical to be upsold something that isnt covered by your insurance WHILE you are in the chair with your mouth open!! So wrong.

My experience at Gentle Dental in Fresno has been and continues to be horrific. Presently, I am in a dispute with Gentle Dental because of bad advice given to me for services not needed. Example, crown when I only needed a filling after a re-root canal and charged $500 over what my dental insurance says I should have been charged. Plus, wanting to crown seven of my teeth when only two needed treatments. Not to mention, instead of porcelain filling the dentist advised crowns because two of my back teeth might get cavities in the future. If thats not crazy enough, I was given gas to relax me before my treatment, instead I became ill. So, instead of stopping they tried it a second time!!!

Everything starts at the counter. Bad and or poor service at the beginning is bad for your business. All dentists charge the so called insurance, and customers have no choice but to pay Had my dental work done (3k worth) at Western dental and yes I paid the insurance. You need to work on your front desk people, they need to understand they get paid to attract, no turn away customers. Also you have to be considerate of those of us with poor vision. You cant expect a customer to fill out forms written in tiny letters in a dark room. Hope this helps.

If I could give this place zero stars I would...I was with them for less than a year and I had a terrible experience. Save your money and time. Do not go to this place!!!! They rip people off and overcharge for their procedures. They have Looooooong wait times and aren’t about customer service. Their office manager is rude and doesn’t provide much help when a problem arises. I switched over to a different office and I have seen the difference in care and service. Awful place, absolutely the worst dental care I’ve ever had!!!!

Today is Tuesday and I have been calling all day to talk to someone. I guess they are closed although they claim they are open. I have left several messages. I like Dr. Caves, but its really hard to get an appointment with him. The staff is friendly, I dont think the problem is with them. I dont know whats going on. Its been very confusing lately. I dont know if its because Dr. Michaels is no longer involved, he is retired. I hope it gets better.

This is the WORSE dentist location I have been to. I HIGHLY recommend to go somewhere else. The have the WORSE customer service ever. I had an appointment which at the time the billing rep wasnt there so they advised theyll call me or for me to call them back to discuss what services I will need and cost for them. They NEVER called me back. So I called them MANY times and was advised every time the billing rep wasnt there and theyll call me back. Which they NEVER did. So I gave up after many calls to them and two months of there horrible and unprofessionalism. Im DONE with them. As a patient shouldnt have to make all these attempts to get in touch with them and they should keep to their commitment to follow up. This place is NOT gentle so they should not even have this word as part of their business name. AVOID this place!

Had surgery today to get my wisdom teeth removed, the doctors were great and treated me amazingly, were making sure I wasn’t in pain, they take a little long when doing simple things like a x-ray, last time I was their ( a month ago) they sat me in a chair for a hour and a half just to x-ray me which took 15 mins and said I couldn’t be worked on... not hard complaining just, they could do a little better, in the end I went home in a great mood becuase they made sure I was in no pain, thanks gental dental!

My husband and I have been going here few a few years now. We really like the dentists there, but unfortunately the customer service from the office staff is a mess. They are very incompetent. We have been billed for things we have already paid, we went through a huge mess with our account that is still not resolved after dozens of calls. I am going to start looking for another dental office that is more competent. Unfortunately the unprofessional office staff canceled out the good work of the dentists. Its not worth the trouble.

I met the dentist and the first visit/ consultation went well. We discussed everything that need to be done and I had a tooth that need to be fixed and a few cavaties but nothing major. Well after all was said and done they missed a cavity in the back of my mouth. Needless to say I still have to go back to the dentist and get it fixed but it will not be Affinity dental.

Honestly this office has been one of the worst dentist I have been to . Not the dentist providing care but the office staffing and billing . I see that Im not the only one who has expierenced this looking at the reviews now but the billing is a MESS . I have dual dental insurance and now is being billed 3 seperate fees from both insurances AND the office seperatley . This has NEVER happened to me with all dental work I have recieved . I only switched for the convience that this office was near my work place but completely REGRET doing so . I wish I had honestly stuck to my original dentist at bright now dental . I still have to go back and do my permanent crowns but in fear of having to be billed again for the work thats supposed to already be covered I have not even gone back to finish out my work . At this point Im going to call to get my crowns and go back to my original office who can dispute my billing correctly because this office has only put me into a financial situation .

Dr. Mallela is great! I would follow him to another practice if he was leaving this one. He seems very overworked, but has always been kind, good humored, and very concerned about my comfort. As a personal touch he called me at home each day I visited for a crown procedure. Love his bedside manner and perfectionism. He didnt like how a crown came back from the lab and ordered a new one.However the office has gone with a billing service that is worse than grade school. My flex spending account relies on detailed statements and prior to their new billing service everything was great. I dont know who makes the decisions regarding billing services but everyone at the office seems disinterested or equally upset about them as I am. Even my flex spending administrators dont understand the bills.The first bill I received from this office was a fourth notice where the oldest procedures was less than 30 days old. At the time I wasnt even concerned about the amount. I had a crown, my wife had a crown, I owed something and the amount at the bottom wasnt crazy. However my flex spending insurance guys sent me an email stating that amounts in brackets are generally credits or negative like a payment. The bottom line of the bill was $633. The flex spending guy said subtracting out the brackets they would reimburse me for only $435. He was puzzled if there was another page and I should send it if I wanted to be covered for the $633.I ran the math myself and sure enough even if I added instead of subtracted there was no way the 633 figure should have existed. Also I noted that they didnt bill my insurance company for one of the procedures as there was an evident by the expected from your insurance colum totaling zero; where my wife had the same procedure with the same code and somehow they expected some payment from the insurance.Long story longer, the staff assured me the bill was in some error. They would look at it and get back to me in a couple of days. Nine days from the date of the first bill, I get a we sent you to collections bill. I went to the office the next business day. After six hours at their office I got the office manager to assure me that I had not been sent to collections yet, the computer at the billing company she doesnt control, and I got her to agree that the maximum I would pay is what the math yielded on the bill ($435). I believe she did eventually get the remainder adjusted even though a couple of weeks later I got a non threatening bill for $198. This bill showed my payment and a few procedures my children had done at full insurance coverage. Should the math be done on this bill I should have had a credit of $435. Without enough time in my holiday schedule to spend down at their office and no threat of collections on this bill I decided to wait. Then I get another bill a couple of weeks later showing I owed $62. This bill actually had good math. It looked a little complicated with bracket amounts and not, but the guys at the billing office must have moved up to second grade by now; adding and subtracting on the same page. This also marked the end of all the pending procedures my family was having (remember I really like Dr. Mallela). I went in to pay the bill today and cancel the routine appointments coming up. I mentioned why and they stole a half hour of my life trying to explain the only good bill I had no complaint over. They did a good job of it... making me think the kinks might be out of the billing service.It wasnt enough to keep my family as a customer. I received two threatening letters and no direct apology. The office staff did look into it but I wouldnt know that specifically as they never directly communicated with me about the specific fixes. They would only talk to me as I stood and refused to leave for six hours. The blame was constantly shifted to the billing billing company, which is an excuse not an apology. They did perform apologetically, but their performance isnt proof to the credit reporting agencies should their computers still be all steam ahead.

Affinity Dentle was quite good, this companym Gentle Dental, has given us nothing but headaches, poor advice, long wait times. The only exception is the dentle hygenist (teeth cleaning) but she came over from Affinity

Ive been very patient in receiving a call back. Still havent gotten a call, after ive called muliple times.The Dr who worked on my teeth a few days pior suddenly doesnt work there anymore. It would have been nice to know since we went over a scheduled plan for my teeth. STAFF IS ALL OVER THE PLACE

I use to be a regular until it changed name/ownership..The front office was a mess and I was billed two times for something I had already paid for. I was upset when I had to show proof of payments when they themselves should have had that in records. I vented my frustration to one of the upper management but didnt get no satisfaction answer.After all that they had the audacity to call me back for treatments when I have already told them I will never ever return.

I have had nothing but good service from doctors and staff, especially from dental hygenist, Ellen.

Appointment at 4 pm, arrived and checked in at 345, 45 minutes later at 430 and rolling, and Im still waiting to be seen.Go elsewhere for better service, mind you I came here due to the reviews, which leads me to believe they are done by the staff
