These guys were awesome. I just moved from Northern VA and needed a new vet. I found the best one here. They’re extremely thorough, provided some alternatives I’d never been told before, and they did some awesome things to help that I’ve never been offered. The bill was also half of what I’m used to paying up north. I have a happy pup so thank you!

Took my girl in to have her upset stomach evaluated. Everyone we encountered provided excellent service. Our great experience began with the front office staff who were really friendly and helpful (over the phone and in person), then was followed by the tech and the vet who made my girl feel comfortable from the moment they greeted us outside their facility.

I had just moved here from Ohio and was looking for a trustworthy vet to take my three chihuahuas to. Let me just say, I was incredibly impressed with St. Francis and can confidently say that I’ve found a good vet for my three girls. The whole staff was kind, super professional, and very honest. They tell you straight to the point what you need, and what you don’t need. They were super helpful in every area too! I can tell that they all genuinely care about the profession they are in. Thank you, St. Francis Animal Hospital staff for being so great! Five stars!

I absolutely love being able to leave such a great Review! During such a difficult time for all of us this staff is still very genuine, friendly and professional. I brought Chance in today for a hurt leg; although I couldn’t be with him physically I knew he was okay when Nicole came outside and treated him as though he were her own. His Doctor, Jeremee Lewis, was so polite and explained everything thoroughly. He talked with me about a plan for Chance without pushing $URGERY like many places do. I absolutely am excited to continue Chancellors health life with them!Did I mention I called last minute and they were able to get me in the very next day!? So great!

Been taking our pups here their whole lives, friendly staff, easily get appointments, knowledgeable, and they care about your pet. Its a sad story but when we had to say goodbye to our family member of 15 years, even after he was gone, we saw a staff member in the back giving him kisses and trying to comfort him even after he was gone, being so gentle with him even though they thought no one could see them, they care about your family pets, they really do. Great location as well.

This is one of the best animal hospitals in the area. This is one of few vets that Ive been to where I feel like Im being listened to and that my thoughts/concerns are valuable and noted. Ive been to a couple vets in the past and some of them lack basic customer service/hospitality manners, or they seem to be inattentive or are rushing to get you out of there. The front desk people are the nicest of all, and have always made me and my wiener dog feel welcome. Whenever the assistants need to take my dog, I feel good trusting them. Last time, my dog was unable to get a certain test carried out because she was making it difficult for some reason - and they had the courtesy to let me know that they ended up not doing it so I appreciated that and the fact that they werent going to put my dog through more unnecessary stress! The most important thing is they are honest about their procedures and tests when needing to be carried out and wont force you or guilt you into paying for anything unnecessary. It is good to feel like youre in control of your pets health. Dr. Metzger, who has recently worked with my baby girl after diagnosing her with an underactive thyroid, is very communicative and polite.I really appreciate this animal hospital. If youre considering vets in the area, I would 100% recommend this one. They are one of the only two AAHA certified (meeting high standards) in the area and Ive never had any bad or sour experience with them. They get an A+ in my book. :)

Absolutely WONDERFUL! Our dog exhibited blood in her urine (suspected UTI) and even though I had never been here before and they were booked for the day, they went ABOVE AND BEYOND to work my dog in to their busy schedule. Our regular vet (Leavells) was also booked but could not be bothered to see our dog and did not make ANY effort to work her in. Because St. Francis did treat her, not only have they made a new client and excellent reviews via Facebook and word of mouth, they also have shown me that they truly put their animals and client first, providing top quality care.

We have been using a particular vet clinic for 11 years now, but when our favorite vet, Dr. Metzger, moved to Saint Francis, we decided to follow her there. She is amazing and now we have a new place to take our boy. We were so happy to see such a well run clinic, friendly techs, and thorough follow up. Our previous clinic never checked up on our dog the day after a wellness visit. St Francis did just that! I was very surprised and pleased. We have already referred our daughter there. As a side note, the vaccination prices were slightly higher that our previous clinic. However, with the curbside service, the efficiency was unmatched. Looking forward to many more years of great service!

St Francis Animal Hospital staff has a un measurable amount of sympathy and remorse during a stressful & life altering moment. My neighbor had called me this morning in a frantic due to her sweet dog jemma not doing well. I proceeded to go check on her and immediately, I soon knew we needed to get her some where and quick. With my backing in veterinary medicine I understand how difficult it can be in primary medicine to fit in an emergency, especially if its not a known patient. We found our selfs calling almost all the primary clinics in the area. Either they were in surgery or double booked , which is totally understandable. The unfortunate part of this morning was that the local veterinary emergency clinic did not open until 3pm. We could of drove to Manassas or richmond but my thought was Jemma wouldnt have made it. I briefly worked at St. Francis and enjoyed the staff and the work family they created. It was unfortunate, but I left veterinary medicine all together. Today I found myself humbled and grateful. It made me think of how difficult & challenging but rewarding the field is. St Francis has a awesome team! On behalf of my neighbor and my self thank you! Thank you to Hailey ,colleen & Dr .Lewis. Thank you for seeing sweet jemma♡🐕

A year waited... and still cannot make it right. We were very happy with St. Francis when Dr. McAuliff was there; nothing to complaint with his services; knowledgeable, passionate about animals, kind and not looking to get every $$$ out of your wallet into his. However, since Dr. McAuliff left, this practice should not be able to use Saint Francis as their name as the practice does not share his principles at all.We have multiple pets.. cats and dogs; and the bad experience was not a single one.. but many one after another. One of our cats has had asthma since a kitty; and the very reason why weve left a different practice to arrive to Saint Francis was because some practices want to force you to get a lot of lab work when it is not needed with the claim that they need to make sure of X in order to refill medications. This never happened before with Dr. McAuliff, yet on a couple of occasions they force lab work when it was not needed in order to refill out cats meds. We did it for one year, but the next year when we challenge the reasoning and did not agree with the lab work, they refused to send the order for refill. Strike number 1.This is the only practice that weve been, that they need to take two of our cats behind in order to administer a shot; on both occasions both cats were meowing in a very excited and uncomfortable way. Again, this never happened with Dr. McAuliff. Why the need to take the cats away from the examination room? Would never understand this for a common shot. Strike 2.Thats when we decided to take our pets to a different practice. On the new practice, they asked for the records of all our pets only to have received incomplete records of them. One of the records dates only to 2013; when they just did a full examination for international travel in 2018 with shots. Strike 3.You will be happy with the new St. Francis as long as you are opening your wallet and dont ask questions about not needed procedures.

A few months ago, my cat Otis began losing weight in spite of eating everything in sight. His coat became matted and it was obvious something was wrong. I took Otis to St. Francis and, after some tests, they discovered he had a thyroid problem. He was given medication to take daily but the medication had no effect. He was steadily losing weight. Dr. McAuliff talked to me about thyroid surgery. I was very concerned especially with Otis being at least 10 years old. Dr. McAuliff explained that he used laser in performing the surgery so there would be minimal trauma, if any at all. The day of surgery went well. I brought Otis home the next day. Thinking he would need his rest, I fixed a place for him to rest and recuperate. I put up a small gate to keep my new puppy away from Otis. As soon as I turned my back, Otis jumped the gate! You would not know he had had surgery the day before. Two weeks later, Otis and returned to St. Francis for a follow-up appointment. His coat was already looking better and he had gained weight! Almost two pounds in two weeks! Otis continues to improve each day. I am very thankful for the doctors and the staff at St. Francis. As far as I am concerned, they saved Otiss life!

Disgusted. Dehumanized by my experience with Dr. Coleman, who refused to fire up the oxygen tank for my 14 year old dog with CHF, which we had come to St. F’s to use to keep her comfortable as we waited for family to arrive. Dr. Childs was our primary and as a veterinarian? she understood the integrated care that we are provided by our ur specialist vets (the specialist costs $600 a visit, consultations available around the clock complimentarily the patients and primary vets- I took my dog to this specialist double the recommended # of times per year as her specialist said she was one of the longest living dogs with heart failure he had ever seen and we were DEDICATED to giving her the best life TILL THE VERY LAST MOMENT. When I finally DEMANDED to see my dying dog when I took her just for the Oxygen tank that I had anticipated needing to use this sad day for three years now, I got to the back to see that her last moments away from her mommy, who had held her 7 pound body for 14 years and cradled her more and more gently and more and more like a baby as she aged, was gasping for breath with nothing more than a plastic tube crudely held up to her face with NO MASK attached unbeknownst me AND THEREFORE ZERO OXYGEN SATURATION- SO JUST $HUNGRY, LAZY, & Ready TO GET HOME. She hadn’t been taken away from me for more than a few moments to go to the back in the vet or anywhere for as long as I could remember. She was spoiled rotten. Dr. Coleman hadn’t been there for years, but I was so careful with her at that point I wouldn’t let my vet of choice dr Childs WHO SADLY WAS NOT IN THE OFFICE this afternoon, even bring her to the back without wrapping her in one of her blankets. We struggled with Medicines causing appetite loss for years & she became what dr Childs called “a delicate flower” with age but she was the most spoiled and happy girl in the world and what kept her happy was her bond with her mommy and family & it was ROBBED from This innocent creature who kept up on family hikes miles and miles regularly till the day of. She didn’t get her fair shot at life or death due to Coleman’s lack of compassion or critical thinking skills. She wouldn’t stay thirty minutes just to give my innocent and pure angel of a dog that comfort that she was ACCUSTOMED TO In HER LIFE IN DEATH, making her a monster. My 7 pound dog needed to be protected and cherished by her vet (Dr Childs did great- she’d talk to me on the phone during a work day for 10min just to make sure we had every last detail of her lifestyle medicine food EVERYTHING TO A T. Dr Coleman RIPPED ALL OF THAT HARD WORK AND CARE THAT DR CHILDS AND I AND HER SPECIALISTS PUT IN TO SHREDS IN THE HOUR THAT SHE SPENT WITH MY BEAUTIFUL ANGEL! She should lose her liscense as I guarantee you 100% that if we checked the record of when we got there, and tried out that tank, if she had at least fired it up preemptively as she CRUDELY HELD THE PLASTIC TUBE CONNECTED TO THE OXYGEN TO MY DOGS FACE- my dog could have had much more comfort while she she called the specialist, which she sadly DID NOT have the common sense to do before PUMPING my dog full of the WRONG form of lasix (needed the drip 📲 specialist??!☠️😭👎🤮)then after all of these mistakes she had no problem with rushing me to put my dog to sleep bc it was closing time. She never had sadness in her eyes. My dog was one hundred percent pure and innocent inside and out. & truly a living stuffed animal who got cuter and who we fell more and more in love each day. Just look at my picture for yourself. SHE CHOSE NOT TO FIRE UP THE OXYGEN TANK WHICH SHE LIED AND SAID “IT WOULD TAKE TOO LONG.” As my angel suffered, gasped for breath. I took her to the Emerg vet who was lovely and sent a card after- NOTHING from SFs AFTER 8 years another dog put down there the year prior 4 pets seen there (0 after this)but the specialist even made a donation in her name to VT. At the emergency vet after I saw the oxygen tank does fire up QUICKLY. I know because we opened it up to get her in and out. Dr. Childs actually left the practice right after this.

Without the expert knowledge and professionalism of Dr. McAuliff and his staff, our 14 year old lab mix would not be sitting by our side today. One night our Harley abruptly fell and then just went to his bed to lay the rest of the evening. I had figured his hips had given out due to many vets just telling me he had arthritis and was old, so I let him sleep. When I awoke the next morning he couldnt raise his head or use his back legs. He looked in severe pain and his breathing was labored. In a panic I called St. Francis to get him in as soon as possible. We were not even patients of St. Francis and instead of just saying he is old or it is his time to go, Dr. McAuliff saw Harley first thing in the morning and thorough testing found a large mass on Harleys spleen. After comforting our dogs pain, we were explained our options and elected to try surgery to give Harley a fighting chance. The surgery was a success and Harley even walked out to greet us! We couldnt be more pleased with the services at St. Francis. Dr. McAuliff and staff were very straight forward with our options and took extremely good care of our fur-baby. We definitely have become regular patients.

I am writing this review for Michelle Lee and Precious Lee, with all their love and appreciation: I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Stephen McAuliff from St. Francis. If you’re looking for a vet, don’t look anymore. Previously, I dealt with a nonprofit organization and they did the surgery on my dog incorrectly. I thought I was saving money by going to the nonprofit, but it ended up costing me double because I needed to have the surgery redone. I went to St. Francis and Dr. McAuliff did an x-ray and discovered that the earlier surgery had been done wrong, so he had to redo the surgery. The non-profit couldn’t refund the money. I returned to the non-profit to have some bloodwork done on my dog and they said there was nothing wrong, but I knew something wasn’t right. So I went back to St. Francis and the bloodwork showed that the dog does has cushings disease. So for the second-time they saved my dog pain, and saved her life. If you’re looking for a vet that is trustworthy and loves your animals the same way that you do, feel assured that even if it costs you a couple more dollars it’s well worth the satisfaction of knowing that your animal will be well taken care of from the ladies at the reception desk to Dr. McAuliff. I knew that when I handed them my dog that she would be loved and well taken care of.

First ,. Ill say its an amazing group of professionals!! kind, caring, attentive, quick in crisis and I was totally panic stricken and they were always sympathetic even when I was calling a lot during my dogs pregnancy. the evening I thought would go according to many internet website reviews- and how to deliver puppies- my first time. It was a loooong nite! I was at emergency ER at 3am then one puppy arrived naturally so I was sent home to deliver the second pup. Everything went wrong! the dog would not nurse and I could see she had slowed down her contractions substantially- I was even more nervious. I called back the ER room and they were closing.. Now Im afraid I lost #2. I rush over to St. Francis again and this time it was comfirmed that she could not deliver the second puppy and her placenta had started to deteriorate! Now Im afraid this can be life threatening!! Dr. Mcauliff acted quickly to perform a C-section. I was so emotionally I was crying and I was afraid that my best friend could be gone. I did not know what to expect waiting for them to call me. I was overhelmed when Doctor Mcauliff called and told me I now have 3 healthy little pups and that acting quickly saved my the puppies! WOW what an experience and fortunate was I to have Dr. McAuliff as myn vet! so wonderful how everyone there was so kind and helpful to answer my multiple questions. this could have been a lot more expensive at the ER. instead it was less than half. Worth every cent! so dont be cheap with your dogs health or dont have one. Ill always go there. Thanks to the whole staff and a special thanks to Dr. McAuliff.
