My son gave me a $150.00 gift card to Hand & Stone for Christmas 2019 and I was finally able to use it yesterday. I went in to ensure the gift card was still good and scheduled a facial, massage and scalp massage. My assumption was that the facial and massage were each $69.00 as advertised. Received the facial, fabulous, and then the massage, OK, and neither person giving the service gave me the scalp massage I wanted. When I went to pay, I was surprised to be charged $99.00 for each service. The $69.00 per service was only for new customers and i had been once before YEARS ago. Very unhappy to be charged more than advertised.

Facility is clean and beautiful. Arianna(I believe is her name, working at reception) was very welcoming and efficient!Hannah did an amazing job. Very knowledgeable and professional. I look forward to our next session.

I went in to get a massage and was a little nervous about having a massage by a man. Jarvis was the most professional massage therapist. Made sure I was comfortable making sure to drape me properly whenever he needed to expose a body area. I never felt over-exposed or uncomfortable. Also he gives a wonderful massage. Very relaxing with knowledge of techniques. I dont think I will mind driving an hour each way to get another massage from Jarvis.

Extremely helpful and friendly staff, and my wife loves the massages. Ive not had one, but I purchase them as gifts for her and the experience has always been wonderful!

Ive never heard of a company in the service industry who abides by the policy of the customer not being right. My wife and I were in for an appointment we had scheduled a month or so in advance, got a sitter for our two 6 month old twins and excitedly came in to get some much needed peace and relaxation. Upon arrival we were told that my wifes appointment had been cancelled and they had been attempting to contact her. Turns out they somehow had tied my wifes account to another customer with the same first name but completely different name. Being a clear mistake on their end, we received no apology, just a lot of excuses about they had tried to reach us - when in fact they were trying to reach us through some completely different customer. My wife was pretty upset about this and may have had some choice words she said to me regarding the situation. I guess the front desk employee took this as being directed at her, so the next day we received an email stating my wife had used vulgar words and was irate towards this employee and that our future appointments would be cancelled. I was blown away that instead of calling like a normal human being, they went about this via email without even getting our side of the story. They even went as far as to say they would reconsider our business in the future. Needless to say, we will just take our business elsewhere. The decision wasnt difficult after this experience and a prior experience in which a masseur inappropriately placed my wifes arm in his lap during the massage for whatever reason. The only reason we were going to take this appointment was because after the session they assured us she wouldnt have that masseur again and we had already paid for the following session. At the time she didnt mention anything, understandably, out of discomfort in person. Management need not respond to this review attempting to reconcile the situation. I dont see the need for any additional conversation.

Had a membership for awhile, customer service is great. The masseuse will listen to all your concerns and you will leave feeling like relaxed jello.

My niece went in for a massage with a gift card I had purchased for her birthday and they were so unprofessional Lady in the front desk was rude when my niece asked more about their different services Lady up front seemed like she just didn’t want to be there Do not waste your money in this place

I had scheduled a fathers day man Facial for my husband. We had to wait for 10min for them to tell me they cant do it because he had MSRA over 10 years ago. Suggestion: When I did his medical history, the form should have stop me from inputting any more information. It would have saved me the time from going to the shop.

I had my first facial today done by Trisha. She was amazing!! She made me feel very relaxed and my face feels amazing. If you want the best facial ever....ask for Trisha!! The front staff was also very nice, helpful and professional. My entire experience here today was a great!

Lovely inviting waiting area. The young woman behind the desk was friendly and I really appreciated her not badgering me about membership. I already knew the therapist from his days at Massage Envy so I knew he would be excellent. I ended up joining, despite my plan not to, and am looking forward to returning.

Today I called to suspend my account since I am not having a massage during the outbreak----cant be 6 feet apart having a massage. I was told they no longer allow suspension of services but I can terminate and have to use the monthly packages I have paid for within 90 days. Again, not having a massage during COVID. So, with that said I am losing 6 packages and they are charging me a 7th as part of the termination agreement. I understand business need to get back to work but I am not taking on risky behaviors that could impact my health for a massage. Very disappointing in the POOR customer service.

Front desk staff are very kind and professional. If you can get a good consistent therapist that doesnt leave the spa its amazing. They really try to keep their therapists. But the staff professionalism and attempt to accommodate when they do lose someone does help

What a wonderful experience! My esthetician Trisha was amazing! The atmosphere was relaxing, the staff was so friendly and the service was fantastic! I am a mom of a two year old boy, so i havent relaxed and pampered in a long time, but after one session here, i will be a life long customer! I left feeling beautiful, recharged and confident. Great place and thank you to the entire staff!

Brianna is an an awesome, professional and knowledgeable massage therapist! Trish did a great job on my facial! The products used on my face were very light and had a very pleasant smell. This was my first time having a full body professional massage and a facial! What a fabulous birthday present from my husband!! I cant wait to return!!!

I pulled my back out a week ago. I decided to go for a massage to see if it would help before I decide to visit my doctor. I have special needs as I cannot lay on my belly. They were very accommodating and did my massage with me laying on my side. It was fantastic! Hands down the best massage Ive ever had. I slept so well last night and woke up with very little pain in my back. She worked out so much of my pain. I signed up for the monthly membership and I will definitely be back! The pricing is amazing. Highly recommend!

This was my first visit to this Spa as a new H & S Lifestyle member and it was a very positive, relaxing experience. Receptionist Crystal was welcoming + provided great customer service. My massage therapist Carla was a true professional + made me feel comfortable from the start. I asked over the phone for a deep tissue and was assured I would get one. I had Kevin for my massage. He did not give me a deep tissue massage. I asked twice during the massage and still he did not do a deep tissue massage. I was very disappointed. Also he used so much massage oil that I was covered in it when I left.

On Saturday, I enjoyed a lovely facial given by Cassidy. She was energetic, obviously loved her job, was knowledgeable about her product line and what she thought my mature skin needed. She did a very nice job.

I went for a hot stone massage and it was AWESOME! My person, Patty, was very good and checked in with me several times to make sure that I was comfortable with the pressure and temperature of the stones. I will definitely go back for another massage and Id love to try a facial!

Received a gift card here (even though I was already a member at another massage place), and figured I’d try them out. Loved it here and even ended up dropping my membership at the other place I had been going to for years! Very professional, kind staff. Clean, relaxing environment! And they don’t hassle you to buy their products!

Bottom line up front: I will not be going back and would not recommend it to a friend.PROS: Fair price, Clean rooms, friendly staff.CONS:Punctuality. I arrived 20 minutes before my appointment, signed in, filled out their questionnaire, and was in the waiting area still 10 to 15 minutes early. My Therapist called me back 25 minutes late, using the excuse, My clock stopped working so I lost track of time. This is unacceptable in my oppinion.Cheated time. So not only was my therapist late, but she only gave a 50 minute massage when I purchased a 60 minute massage. And when she caught me looking at my watch she said, Dont worry, you got your time.Talkative. Some people may enjoy this so it may not be a CON to all, but I do not. I want a quiet relaxing massage, and I didnt have that option. The therapist talked about her life, family, the military, politics, Trump and Hillary. Who wants to hear political opinions or anything politics during a massage? Not me.I believe the therapist may have ruined my experience there but it there are a lot more massage therapy clinics to choose from in the area and I will not be returning to this one.

I went to Hand & Stone for my first facial ever. Cate was my esthetician. She was professional and answered all of my questions. She gave me great advice about my skin. They tailor the facial to your skin. I didn’t have any extractions and I guess that is a normal part of facials, but I assume I didn’t need them if they didn’t do them. She was very knowledgeable and everyone was very welcoming. It was extremely relaxing. I recommend Hand & Stone and facials by Cate!

Had my first massage in 58 years, I was not sure what to expect, I was forced into a couple massage by my spouse. It was totally relaxing, I quickly got lost into the quiet music, the aroma, and the gentle hands of the masseuse. Highly recommend to relax the body, calm the nerves and sooth the soul.

I have been to this facility 3 times and I have a good experience every time. Not great, but definitely a solid good. I was a member of Massage envy in various states for many years, but decided that their customer service was lacking so i dropped them. I like a monthly membership. often forget to schedule consistently, so its nice having a bank of pre-paids to use for myself and my loved ones. If youre new to massage, Id recommend checking it out. its affordable, they have lots of add-on services, and the location is pretty convenient.

The full-body massage for an hour at the introductory price was great! My wife did not enjoy how talkative her massage therapist was, though.

We arrived thirty minutes early for our appointment and filled out a survey of our likes and dislikes during a massage. We were there to celebrate my wife and Is birthday, and they offered us $10 off extra services. My wife chose hers and I chose mine. Pretty awesome! Then we got to our couples massage, and had to endure the therapists talking to each other loudly the entire time which made for an unrelaxing hour. My therapist didnt use nearly enough oil and it made me feel like sandpaper being rubbed onto my skin. My wife had requested extra time on her feet verbally and on her paper request, and they didnt touch hers at all. I requested shoulder and scalp massage and didnt receive either. At the hour point, my wifes therapist said something along the lines of , Next time you should try some aromatherapy or some kind of extra, to which my wife responded with, Im supposed to get the hot rocks, and my husband is supposed to get Biofreeze. They said it wasnt on the paper, and we would get it free next time. They offered my wife free aromatherapy on her feet, and chose to rub it on mine also without asking; however feet were marked with a big NO on my sheet as its something I hate!

Hand and stone has one great massage therapist his name is Sean. He is located at their Spotsylvania location. I tried to others but neither can touch Sean. Had a chemical peel took me almost a month as their facial consultant kept not showing up. They finally let her go. I originally wanted a micro derm, but they said the consultant took the machine whe she left. Not sure I really see any results from chemical peel and not sure I want to subject my face to that burning sensation again

New message/spa business in the Fredericksburg area.Staff:Positives:Massage Therapist was nice and professional.Negatives:No proper greeting when entering facility.A huge concentration on sales, up sales, membership sales. A little too much for my liking. When I go to a spa or massage place I want to feel relaxed and not bombarded with membership monthly fees, enrollment fees, etc. Not sure why there is an enrollment fee - have to ask what this covers. Normally enrollment fees cover items. Makes no sense to pay to enroll and then pay a monthly fee on top. This makes it feel like business first vice customer care in my opinion. I do understand this is a chain massage/spa business and this is their business model.Facilities:Positives: Clean massage roomDécor was ok. Could use some help, but its a new business.Negatives:No proper place other then a chair to hang clothing.Bathrooms could use attending to a bit more.Light a bit too bright in massage room.Overall experience:Intent is nice, but execution not what I expected.I wanted to really enjoy, but unfortunately sales seem to be the key, vice customer care - aka massage therapy. I just pray that they change strategies and learn that the good customer service and care equals repeat service. Membership fees should not be a selling service during check in and check out. Would be a more suitable business model to have membership cards, whereas, for every 5 massages you get one 20% off or something of that nature. People would be more apt to participate in my opinion.

Cancelled my membership and had one package left. However it expired according to there policy . So now I’m out $60.00. Don’t do the membership. It will build up then you’ll cancel and never get to use your packages.
