He saw that my dad had a polyp, he decided to leave it saying ‘oh it’s fine’...now that small polyp has caused cancer throughout my father’s body. I would recommend a second opinion or avoiding this incompetent individual if possible.

Worst doctor ever!!!! Been going to him for a long long time because I didnt know much about the condition n which he diagnosed me with. He sent me to a surgeon and the surgeon would not even do surgery on me because he said he saw nothing to do surgery on!!!! He does not care about his patients and he will show you he doesnt care with no problem! McLeod should be ashamed to let him treat patients!! He will hurt you before he ever helps you! You cant talk to him, hes running out the room while you are running behind him trying to tell him whats going on. Lol its beyond ridiculous !! I dont know how anyone could like being his patient

John Wolford is the WORST doctor Ive ever encountered. If you’re referred to him, run, (don’t walk), run, run as fast as you can in the other direction!Parents, don’t let this quack see your children, he’s criminally incompetent!!!John Wolford is a bum and a quack. He simply does NOT care about his patients or humans in general. He is the type of doctor who got into medicine for the money and not to help people. He doesn’t even pretend to care!I waited almost five months to see Wolford, only to have him order one single test during my first and only visit that I didnt need! If Wolford spent just a little bit more time with me, listening to my description of symptoms, I would not have suffered needlessly for five more months! But he seems to be as enthralled with his computer as a 12 year old with a smart phone; never made eye contact, never engaged me as a human. He acted as if he was too busy to listen to my symptoms. Or better yet, he was so arrogant that he thought he knew what was wrong with me without listening! He was wrong!!!Wolford did NOTHING to improve my condition, but he did waste about ten months of my life, as I had to wait basically five months again to see another GI doctor! And the next GI doctor I saw (at Carolinas) found what was wrong with my digestive system with the first test he ordered, a test Wolford never discussed with me or spoke about.Its shameful that McLeod Health allows this bozo to practice in their system. Hes incompetent and outright lame. If people in the Florence area were more litigious, he would be in court every day for malpractice!!!Do yourself a favor and find someone else!!!!Do NOT let this bozo see your children or loved ones!!!!

Dr Wolford’s office continues to bill me incorrectly after several months of trying to correct the invoice. I sent his office a letter letting them know, as per my insurance company, they are using the wrong tax ID for billing. No one answers voice mails. What do I have to do? Robert Moran

I love Dr. Wolford and his staff, always friendly and dependable!He suggested diet for my Crohn’s disease. That was 2012 and I am in remission and Praise God I am healthier than ever!

Less than thrilled with this dr office. I have been dropping weight and sick for 2 months now. They order one test I get scheduled for 2 weeks out. Have the test done wait for results for a week. Schedule another test 10 days out wait a week for results. Schedule a final test and now I have to wait another week on results. Last time I was in his office I was told everything looks normal and I was asked what it was I wanted him to do.....how about starting by figuring out what is wrong with me.......Ill be finding somewhere for a second opinion and maybe somewhere that hopefully feels like they actually care I am sick, in pain and have a less than stellar life situation right now.

When I went to McLeod Gastro, I was amazed that an office could be run so poorly. My appointment time was for 10:30, and I wasn’t called to the second waiting room until after 11:30. I didn’t see a doctor until 12:50! I think they forgot about me and two other patients. Or else they just don’t care. Which is probably the case.So I finally got back to see Wolford. At least I assume it was Dr Wolford. He didn’t introduce himself. He didn’t read a single previous test result I brought with me. He didn’t ask me about diet or how I feel. He was very robotic and detached. He spent less than 5 minutes in the room with me.He told me to sit tight and that he would be right back. About 10 minutes later, a nurse came for me and said he ordered a HIDA scan, which my primary physician ordered for me two months prior! If he had taken a minute to glance at my tests, he would’ve seen that I recently had a HIDA scan!. I asked her why he didn’t order a colonoscopy and endoscopy?!? I’m over 40, a tobacco user, family history of colorectal cancer, and have never had a colonoscopy or endoscopy!!! Why didn’t he order them?!?So about that time I realized that something is very off with Dr Wolford and McLeod Gastroenterology.Please, find another doctor! I did, and it probably saved my life!John Wolford is criminally incompetent!

Going to McLeod Gastro was one of the worst mistakes of my adult life.I was referred to Dr. wolford from my primary doctor. At my first and only appointment, Wolford spent less than 5 minutes with me. He didnt want to see the blood work, ultrasound results or CT scans I brought with me. He acted like my presence was an inconvenience.Wolford didnt listen to my description of symptoms. He ordered a Hida scan, just one single test. Well, i guess he ordered it, because about 4 minutes into the exam he told me to sit tight and that he would be right back. About 10 minutes later a nurse came for me and said Wolford ordered a Hida scan. No discussion about gallbladder, or the negative gallbladder ultrasound test results i had with me.So i go for the Hida scan. About a week later Wolfords nurse calls me and says the Hida scan showed that my gallbladder was bad and that theyve made an appointment for me the next day with a McLeod surgeon! Wow!So i go to the surgeon the next day and the nurse there asks me why Im there. I reply that i have lower right quadrant abdominal pain that doesnt go away, and that Wolfords office says my gallbladder is bad. She looks at the Hida results and says Your gallbladder is 3 times better than our surgery threshold. Your discharge number is 86%, we do surgery on 25% or lower! Also cant believe they sent you over here without doing an endoscopy and colonoscopy!So the surgeon I was erroneously referred to by Wolfords office had to order an endoscopy, a colonoscopy, a Meckel scan, and two more diagnostic tests that Wolford shouldve ordered! And yes, those basic tests were crucual to diagnosing my illness!No one at Wolfords office is accountable. No one is in charge. I wasted over 4 months waiting for my appointment with Wolford, and almost two months after my appointment with him to get an endoscopy and colonoscopy!You know a doctor is a piece of garbage when other doctors have to order basic tests for their patients!Avoid Wolford! Go to someone else! In my opinion, Wolford does more harm than good. In my case, the endoscopy procedure that he didnt order was crucial to diagnosing my condition!! Imagine going to a gastroenterologist, fitting the demographic for someone who needs an endoscopy-colonoscopy, and the doctor doesnt order it!Wolffart is criminally incompetent! Its a shame that McLeod has no oversight and lets this guy repeatedly fail his patients.

Avoid like the plague! Dr Wolford will make it very clear to you on your first appointment that you dont matter, and that he doesnt care!Joseph Mengele had a betterbed side manner!

Dr. Wofford has treated my son for Several years. He has always been wonderful from his treatment to bedside manner.
