Outstanding from start to finish. Dr. Basden is the best optometrist I’ve ever had in fifty years of having eye care. He’s knowledgeable, kind, respectful, caring and thorough. Five stars isn’t enough. The staff there is top notch as well.

I left a review awhile ago about how awful this place was but I removed it because they said they would fix it.I have called the place several times to fix my bill ( I get mailed a statement).When I made the appointment I had my insurance on the phone to make sure what they cover and told the lady I only want to do what my insurance would cover ( I was ordering contacts). I kept getting bills saying I owed money and even though when I had my appointment I was told I would owe anything. I’ve called several time and my mom has also called trying to fix it. The last time I called a lady said that they will call me back within the next week.. I never received a phone call.Eventually my mom stepped in and they actually hung up on her. We talked to my old insurance company and they said they never even received a claim.This place has highly disappointed me.It looks very pleasant on the outside and inside, but the people that work there are the opposite.

Wide selection of glasses. Very fancy decor and a coffee bar that would make Juan Valdez proud. My daughter forgot her contacts back at college and these nice folks gave her a few pairs to hold her she got back to school.

I bought eye glasses here 4 years ago, as well as my childrens glasses, Ive also purchased my contacts here as well.I noticed the coating coming off one of my lenses a few months ago. Brought it in today and he told me that it is the anti glare coating that is coming off. I asked him if this is normal after just 4 years, he said not really but it does happen?? Ive got glasses Ive had 10 years and nothing like this has happened. He could have offered to order me some new lenses and give me a 10.00 discount and I would have felt better about my issues.He said there is nothing he can do since its been 4 years. 4 years? 400.00 glasses?Save your money and go somewhere else.This shouldnt be happening...

I have been a patient of Florence Eye Center for years and I have always received great service. I trust my optometrist (Kathryn) and Lyndsey did a wonderful job recently taking care of getting my new glasses. I have several family members that use this business as well. I fully recommend them.

I had my first visit today with Raleigh and Dr. Thigpen. Both ladies were amazing. So patient with me as I was nervous for my visit and as I tried on almost every pair of frames they have in stock. It was a great experience. They made me feel very comfortable and confident in my final selections. I couldn’t have hoped for more and I cannot wait to pick up my glasses!

I went to purchase single vision glasses. The sales girl said I should try the progressive lenses and that if I did not like them, I had 30 days to bring them back and they would replace them. The progressive glasses were $90 more expensive. I did not like the progressive lenses and returned them. They said that they would replace them but not credit me the $90. This was never explained to me at the time or I would have purchased the single vision glasses. Bad business.

Excellent service!!! Dr. Thigpen is awesome as is all the staff! Amelya was also great and so friendly!!! This was my first eye exam and eyeglass purchase!! Highly recommend!!!

I have been going to the Florence eye center for some time now they are amazing. They’ve got a wide variety of glasses along with glasses accessories and more. Ms.Amanda is a sweet lady she will make you feel at home. She tries to make the patients feels comfortable and wanted. Not saying that everyone here doesn’t do the same probably just as well. But if you want true service check this place out.

We usually use the Muscle Shoals eye center but because my dad had surgery on Thursday we had to visit the Florence location. Walked in and noticed how pretty the whole center was. Everyone was so helpful and all the employees were very nice and polite.

Still waiting for reordered glasses. I waited for the first order for three weeks. I finally called to check, and they said they had the glasses, but had failed to get my phone number. 🙄 So they had just been sitting there. As it turns out, they ordered the wrong kind of lenses, so they reordered over a week ago. Haven’t heard a word. I will call them tomorrow. Maybe they’ve had them there again, although I did double check that they had my number. They have a nice showroom, but if they are going to be overpriced, then they should at least be fast and professional.

Florence Eye Center is where me and my family will ALWAYS go for our vision needs! Taryn is a tremendous help! She was with us during the exam and picking out glasses AND even ordered our contacts. She can do it all! They also did an exam on my son before he was a year old! Thanks for being awesome to our family!

Bought glasses 2 months ago for myself, and daughter. bought the scratch warranty , after the lenses scratched went in for another set of lenses, and been almost a month , havnt seen my new lenses that were covered under warranty. Piss poor warranty if they dont honor it., wont use them again. But it IS alabama , dont know why I expected more .

I love this office & will never go anywhere else! They have tons of glasses to choose from and even if they don’t have what you’re looking for, they will find it! The opticians are great and very informative. Such a great atmosphere & amazing service! Thanks!

It was the best customer service I couldve asked for! Amanda Brown was the sweetest from the moment I went back to the room! She helped me pick out frames that fit my face and I was so thankful as this is my first time ever wearing glasses! Absolutely 100% pleased.

I found Taryn was extremely informative and made sure I understood everything before moving on to the next step. She certainly took her time with me and became personable makeing sure my experience was nothing short of amazing. Great atmosphere! Great staff! I especially respected the fact that my tech-person, Kiersten put my phobia of eye doctors to rest. She was calm and took her time to explain each step. And the eye doctor got the debris out of my eye on the first try!!**edit**As a former “disgruntled employee” I would have to note that any and all reviews above 3 stars were made with fraudulent intent to cover up the poor reviews of actual customers. The management had a contest for whichever employee has the most high rated reviews on google gets $500.I don’t understand why they didn’t want to invest their time and money in properly training their staff especially after asking the management several times for help, guidance and training with no avail. Just click on each review and notice how the commenter says similar things for different locations of this branch out in muscle shoals and Madison.But thank you “owners” (management) for replying to your own employee to toot your own horn and make yourself look like a half decent medical establishment. This isn’t a day spa, people actually come here for medical help and look here for honest reviews from actual customers bc they are spending money on their physical well being, not on a nice day out.

After Walmart quit taking our vision insurance, we made the switch and I’m glad we did. This is a great office, great environment, nice staff and the best doctors. We had great help from Taryn in helping select the correct frame with the best fit. I’ll definitely be back. Thanks!

I was put in a situation where I had to go to another eye doctor for a visit due to the only eye doctor Id ever gone to being far away at the time. My first visit, with an appointment, I was taken back and left in an exam room for 1 1/2 hr until I opened the door and yelled for someone to help me. Another wait for 20 minutes and I was leaving when the eye doc came in. He said “ oh, I was busy, did no one come tell You?”This time the ordered my glasses, told me two weeks, and after almost three weeks, I had to go by the office..no one answered the phone tho I tried 3 times... the young girl seemed miffed that I asked her to check if they were in. They were, they handed them to me and said good bye...no fitting to face, no checking if they were right...nothing.I will find a VSP provider other than FEC next year.

I sincerely appreciate the kindness of these good people. Not a long wait at all and staff so courteous. Now Dr Basden he is so considerate, polite, and respectful. I am a diabetic and was having some issues. Dr Basden did a through exam, found the problem and now we are working on things. I am a satisfied lifetime customer.

Ive been going here for almost 4 years now and I love the staff here. I started out with glasses in 6th grade, they were very helpful in helping me find the perfect frames. When I got in high school I decided to get contacts to suit my activities and they were very patient and helpful by showing me how to put them in. This office is great with all ages, I love the themed rooms, the coffee bar, and the great frame selections. Thank you for being my favorite and only eye center ❤

Wrong lens inserted on left eye, tried to replace it but it wouldnt come out. Right eye ok after lens implant for distance. Wish I had never wasted the $$ or time. I could see better with my contacts. Florence Eye Center in SC.

Im new to town and had an accident where my glasses got stepped on; the frame was bent and a lens had fallen out. I walked in without an appointment and asked if they could help me out. They had my glasses bent back in shape and the lens in within minutes and no charge! Great service all the way around. Looks like we found our new eye care center!

Only reason I gave it one star is because there was not a zero option, worst experience Ive ever had. Been wearing contacts for over thirty years, have never paid a fitting fee. Basically, my contact prescription is being held hostage unless I pay an additional $65.00, after having a contact exam. Ill never step foot into one of these facilities again, and will quickly discourage anyone considering doing so. BTW, I had a contact only exam performed for less than the fitting fee, what a joke.Edit Of course I used a different email than my actual email address, funny how you only addressed that instead of the hostage fee you charge in addition to the billed charges to ones insurance. And no, Im quite positive it was your facility (Muscle Shoals).

The was every nice.only thing i dont like is how long i have to wait for my glasses .

My mother went here for glasses, both times she was not helped or even spoke to. She had to go to the front desk and ask for help after sitting waiting for over 20 minutes. Terrible customer service and very rude. Would not recommend.
