I had not been to the eye Doctor and like 2 years! My sister refer me to this eye doctor! I got there early and did not have to wait until my appointment time! I was taken back!! I love the fact that my eyes did not have to be dilated! That was awesome! Then the doctor came in and worked his magic and I got my new prescription and picked my new glasses and paid and left! They explained that they would call me once my glasses were ready for pickup! I would recommend them to anyone!

The staff including the doctor, Dr.Hamill ,at 1st vision are very courteous. I recently switched from a local eye care office after years of care because one of the ophthalmic assistants is not friendly and the other one there was trying to say I dont have routine vision benefits because there was not a separate vision contractor, turns out I did her job for her and found that vision was included in the Health plan. Needless to say, I decided to find another eye care provider with EXPERIENCED staff and UPDATED equipment. I am greatly pleased with First Vision Group !

All staff are very friendly, I agree to all other reviewers. But I think they are very unprofessional. I dont recommend this group to others. And here is what I experienced. The entire vision test is: Can you read this?, Yes.. Done the vision test. Thats not how a vision test should be done!!! I questioned them, and they said that since I am wearing glasses already, they just need to check if my current prescription is good. I actually agree with this answer. But the problem is that without a thoroughly vision test, how can you know if my vision got worse or better??? I am telling you, after I finished grad school, (maybe because I dont need to read paper and do experiments day and night any more) my vision got better!Of course they did eye pressure test and fill the form with number 12. I asked what does 12 mean? Good or Bad? The lady said 12 is my eye pressure. Then I asked whats the unit? She asked me What is unit?. This is mind blowing question already. But I still patiently explained you need a measurement unit to explain a pressure. For example, psi, Pa, bar, mmhg etc. They are unit of pressure. The answer I got is I dont know what you asked. The machine shows 12. There is no unit for this. I stopped questioning. I dont know which medical school she went that only taught her how to use the machine but did teach her why she is doing it. That machine only has a ON/OFF button and a TEST button. I can teach a 4-year old kid to use this thing in an hour.By the way, they didnt tell me all these results until I asked and signed a information disclosure form. Then they mailed me a copy of exam record. The hand writing is not read-able and obviously its for doctors records. I went back and asked explanation. I got above mentioned answers and we usually dont tell patient if there is nothing wrong. But I am telling you, I have the right and deserved to know results of my own eye exam! Also for your information, their crafting lab took 6 weeks to make my glasses. It looks like putting a lens on a frame is really a rocket science. After all these things, I stopped asking any question, grab the glasses and left. I knew its pointless to arguing with them and I am not going back for sure. They should go back to medical school and learn the knowledge better.

I waited until I saw another eye doctor (2nd opinion...AND got the OTHER doctors eyeglasses before I wrote this review)Dr. Hamill rushed through my eye exam and then sent me to his Optical area to pick out glasses within 5 minutes of his walking in the exam room. He told me that I needed new glasses before he could complete my yearly exam. What a racket !! I told the other doctor about this and he laughed. I also asked for my prescription and left because if you ask about the doctor and his staff can not make eye contact with you...have a nervous laugh or just have nothing to say...you need to go elsewhere.

I took my information in and realized quickly that my prescription is too complicated and I did not want to take a chance. Even though I will not be able to use my insurance benefits (they were a provider) I would rather stay with my other vision center.
