Very nice YMCA and easily within my top five (I have visited over 40) favorite YMCAs. Very nice staff and made checking in this out of state guest very easy. One of the staff, Dave, spent some time with us telling all about the YMCA and there wonderful programs, thank you Dave! Great pool area with nice sauna as well. The indoor track upstairs is awesome and one of the best surfaces I have seen for walking, jogging and/or running. Mens locker room in nice shape and very nice facilities. Plenty of updated and modern cardiovascular machines and the weight machines are awesome. Members and frequent guests can enroll in a program that will track their machine settings, weight, and repetitions so on subsequent visits, information is displayed to user. WOW! Very nice free weights as well and very spacious YMCA. Only item I missing from this Y could be a steam room, but is that really needed in the south. Very impressive YMCA and awesome staff!

Shame on you YMCA! The lifeguard on duty was nice enough to tell me and my daughter that we have to wear shirts over our bathing suits or full piece swimwear. They were not inappropriate in any way. Just two pieces. Please explain to me why percisiely ZERO men are asked to wear one piece swimsuit? Please explain to me why my belly button is offensive, but my husband and sons are not? STOP SHAMING WOMEN FOR HAVING BODYS THAT GOD GAVE US. YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.

My kids and I joined in 2016 and it was the best decision Ive made. They have everything all in one place. You can take one of many GREAT exercise classes or workout on your own in the all new updated facility. Run indoor track, swim, enjoy the hot tub, sauna or steam room. They also have basketball courts and extras like Gymnastics or Karate. And I cant forget to mention that they also offer child care while you workout. This place is for the whole family to enjoy!!

I swim here 6 nights a week. Social distancing has been good for the most part. However tonight some lady got in my lane. Not to swim but to run in place. Something that can be done in the leisure pool. Potentially exposing me to the coronavirus. You can bet this is a major issue. I now suggest not coming here as the staff apparently does not comprehend swim lanes are for swimming and cannot measure a minimum of 6 feet.

I’ve worked out here my whole life but i just drug my matt over to a corner in a mainly empty gym and one of the trainers brought her trainee literally right behind me to do dead lifts. not even a foot away. great social distancing. felt so uncomfortable i moved away from them even tho i had been there before them.

Ive been using the YMCA weight room for about 10 years now and I couldnt be happier with the facility. They do a good job keeping it nice and clean. The staff are very helpful if I have any questions about anything. I am also very pleased with the rate that they offer the seniors.

I have been going here for a long time now. My wife says thats where she knows to find me if Im not home. Theyve got everything you need and the rates are good. Mostly Ill just go to work out on my own and it is a great place for families.

Why do I go to the YMCA of the Shoals? Simple. They have so many activities for my children, even the ones that may not attend their day care. And while that is happening, I am able to go to exercise classes. With that being said, I love how there are so many different options for those classes.

Ive been going to YMCA of the Shoals for the past two years now and I love it! They offer a great variety of gym equipment, so Im always switching up the machines I use every day. I really enjoy my time there!

I mostly use the weight equipment here but they have everything I need at a reasonable price. The facility is clean and the staff is pretty good too. I have been coming pretty often over the past few years and I am satisfied.

I love the equipment and machines in the gym, they have plenty for busy days, they constantly maintain the pool and hot tub, the staff is super friendly and helpful, the child watch makes it easier for parents with young ones to enjoy their workout! I love this place. It has something for the whole family to do.

As a long time member of the YMCA I am very satisfied with the facility here. I am a huge fan of the activities that they provide here and the exercise facility is very nice. On top of it all the staff is very inviting and helpful.

The classes here are great. There is plenty of variety and all of the instructors are welcoming. Even if you are new to the class dont be nervous because they are really understanding.

Great place to go to for fitness! You can drop off your kids at their daycare for a few hours while you work out. They have several group fitness classes such as Zumba and Ai Chi. They have two pools including a lap pool and a basketball gymnasium. You need a membership to access the facility, but for what you get with it, its awesome.

The YMCA is one of the best health clubs in Florance. They have everything that you need for working out, relaxing and even programs for the kids. Its a great value for the whole family

I do weight training at the YMCA, 5 days a week and I love it. I also walk the track. I am very satisfied with everything that they provide you. As far as the equipment, they have everything that I need.

I absolutely loved all the equipment and the staff. The place has a very open flow of things, not over crowded. I enjoyed it enough to join.

I really like this YMCA because of the amazing classes that are offered here. They have a variety of classes for everyone and anyone. The instructors are all really nice and will help you with anything.

My kids and i come here quite a bit. I love the yoga lass that they offer and its convenient that they offer plenty of things for the kids to do. Everything is clean too which is really important.

This YMCA is the best because there are so many children activities. The kids have endless options to choose from. I also enjoy the different options offered for fitness classes.

Ive been a member of the YMCA for a total of three years. I really like the spin class that they offer. The staff is so friendly and they have a great variety of activities.

I have been a member here for three years because this place had everything. Plenty of weights and cardio machines, love the variety. A good variety of activities as well and something I will probably get into more because I get bored easily.

I dont do much at the gym, just cardio and a few fitness weight machines but Im very happy with the variety. This is a good gym whether your interested in just a few things like me or classes and a ton of other activities.

The staff at YMCA of the Shoals in Florence, AL are just extraordinary! They are so helpful and offer a variety of equipment and activities for my family and I to participate in.

I do weight training here about 5 days a week and I love it. The facility they have here is always kept clean, the staff is very friendly and provide a variety of equipment.

The hours are terrible on the weekends and when yiu cancel your membership you have to give a 30 day notice which is fine but after that everytime you come in and trt to scan your card it announces access denied and they tell you you have to get a temporary paper membership card and give it to them to verify every time you come in which is harassment .plus they are always over crowded and some of the key equipment stays broken more than not .I would suggest looking at some if the newer gyms in the area first .

Weekend hours are a joke and make me want to look elsewhere. 1-5 Saturday and sunday?? Thats ridiculous. Especially when you work on the weekeneds.
