Ive been coming to New Hope Family Practice for 10 years and I love it. Dr. Fernandez and his staff are great, i havent had any bad experiences at all, nothing but the best!

Dr. Fernandez is amazing! I started seeing him when my mother was his patient. (over 10 years ago) He is compassionate caring and professional. He takes the time to answer all your questions with a smile. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. Its always a delight experience, not to mention the soothing atmosphere you get at his office. Thank you to all the staff as well for being professional and caring!

I have been coming here for years. My husband and I have needed referrals and it either gets fallen through the cracks or takes forever to get it done. There’s no reason why it should take a month to just get the referral sent. I do referrals at my job and it gets done about 10 mins after the patient leaves. Also, I don’t get returned calls back all the time either. I’m still waiting and it’s been over a week.

I have been a patient since 2007 and love Dr. Brooks as well, so out of respect for her and the quality care I have received I will not detail any of my items that I have issues with at this time. I will discuss any of my concerns with Dr. Brooks when the opportunity presents itself. However, this is merely being written to give credit where it is deserved to Brittany! She was very professional on the phone and in person while waiting to be seen. With ALL the changes she is an asset. I truly appreciate her kindness and professionalism. Keep up the Great work Brittany!

If I could give this facility ten stars I would. I have been coming here for about seven years. I have had the honor of seeing Dr.Brooks and Dr.Fernandez. I have also been blessed to see just about every PA at this establishment. I want to really commend Dr.Brooks and Dr.Fernandez for choosing the most AMAZING PAs ever!They are knowledgeable and willing to listen to what is going going on with you. They dont complain if you take a little longer and when I say they get down to the nitty-gritty they do just that!!I currently see Dr.Sullivan (PA) and when I tell you that she is amazing...I mean just that! She is amazing!! She really listens and makes eye contact and she is very thorough!!Bernice the medical assistant has also been very friendly, patient and kind. The receptionist are the same!I have to say that as an African American woman, or being just a woman, our medical concerns often fall on deaf ears...but not here!! If you need a family doctor...this is the place to be!!Last but not least, please dont count the PAs out!!! You will be missing out if you do!!

I moved all of my records to this facility last winter when I had a really rough go with a broken rib and possible pneumonia (X-rays were iffy). I couldn’t be seen in a timely manner for a follow up from urgent care at my doc I was established with since I was 18 (looking at you SRAHEC). So I chose New Hope. Yesterday I wasn’t able to see my actual doc, but a different doc since she was available to see me at my earliest convenience. I have to say I was extremely dissatisfied. She cared nothing about my history or patterns with the issue I’m dealing with. She repeated scripted info that I’ve known since I was a child. I was treated like an assembly line item. I wanted to discuss my issue. I wanted to discuss a possible referral to a urologist. Aren’t doctors supposed to help? Listen? Show empathy? The history of my issue is just as important and I’m just wondering why this wasn’t of concern to her. I’m already looking for a different office to switch to. The front desk staff are kind, though.

This is the WORST practice ever. For years I have watched as this place that used to be great, declined. I have put up with their lack of communication among staff and with patients. I have put up with their lateness. I have put up with the receptionists rudeness. Today my mother attempted to make a virtual doctors appointment. I am high risk and she does not want to possibly expose me to COVID-19. They informed her that they are no longer doing virtual appointments. After my mom told them that she’s almost out of her prescriptions they let her know that they couldn’t promise that the doctors would still fill her prescriptions if she did not come into the office.We are still in a PANDEMIC. I would think a doctors office would be concerned about their patient’s health. Instead they are concerned about their bottom line. It’s sad. For a healthcare practice that’s supposed to be routed in Christianity, I have found them to be anything but.

Edit from a previous review.I did not have a good experience as the provider was running behind and I was not informed by anyone. It’s courteous to be advised as the status of the provider. Our appointment was at 4 but we weren’t seen until after 5. HOWEVER, the office manager spoke with my wife to apologize and explain the situation. The provider my daughter saw is a nurse practitioner and it was only her second day so I’m sure she was overwhelmed.I am not seen here but my family is and they love it and will continue being seen here.

I am so disappointed be be writing this review. I love Dr Brooks and Dr Fernandez and my husband and I have been seeing them for over 15 years. In the last year the practice has changed so much. I consistently have a problem getting phone calls returned. Its difficult to get in to see Dr Brooks, although she is technically my primary care provider. I dont mind seeing the PA but apparently everything still has to be run by Dr Brooks. I had a yearly visit in December and asked for 4 medications to be sent to express scripts. 2 of the medications were incorrect and it has taken me weeks to get this problem fixed. I left numerous messages that were not returned. Today I spoke to Marilyn. She was incredibly rude to me. When I asked to speak to the Practice Manager, I was told that she would give her a message but could not guarantee that she would call me back. When I questioned her about that statement, she said I didnt say she wouldnt call you back, but I cant guarantee it. I cant even guarantee that I will be here tomorrow. Wow. Well Marilyn, I hope you arent there tomorrow. Or any day after that. Customer service is obviously not something you are cut out for. I have never been treated so unprofessionally. I would love the opportunity to speak with Dr Brooks directly, but based on past experience, I am pretty sure that wont happen. It looks like it is time to start looking for a new doctor.

I started feeling sick with flu symptoms on Sunday so I went in on Monday morning. The office did not have any flu test and my fever was down because I had taken an alieve earlier that morning. She decided it best to still treat me as if it was the flu and was going to send over a prescription for Tamiful and a cough medicine. Well it’s now Wednesday I’m still sick and more than 48 hours since she promised to send over my prescriptions and my pharmacy hasn’t heard anything from the office. I called twice on Monday and twice on Tuesday and all 4 times spoke to someone who promised to rely the message to the lady who treated me and to make sure they have the correct pharmacy on file. I feel let down because I’m going to have to find another doctor’s office to help me.

Wow, great atmospher. The staff are great , nice and friendly. Dr. Fernandez is great with a lot experience. I feel comfortable and I can put my health in his hands. Always have a good advice for my health. Plus they speak Spanish, that’s make it easy and can comprehend it better any advice he for me.

No one greets you (they didn’t greet my husband and I anyway) when you walk in. So you don’t know who to check in with or how. After we got a room, they asked me if they could have a urine sample later to check for bacteria and infections. I said yes. Dr. Brooks came in and talked with me for a while. She was very thorough and caring. Fast forward to me heading to the restroom to take the test. Dr comes in the room while I’m gone and tells my husband I will be drug tested. I wouldn’t mind doing this willingly. I feel like this was a complete invasion of my privacy. When I filled out my paperwork I opted to use the med portal for billing. They inserted a random “#” in my username (which is supposed to be the same as my email). I keep getting emails from them and I can’t sign in to pay. I’ve also been trying to call for days to try and figure this out and only getting a busy tone. A few other weird incidents have given me some seriously strange vibes from this place.

I have been a patient of Dr. Fernandez for years. He is the most passionate person I have ever encountered. He is concerned not only about your physical health but is always willing to listen to things of a personal level. I have not always been compliant...lol But he continues to be a phenomenal physician and human being. I recommend this practice 💯

Dr McGorrian is great. I have never had an issue with her. However when calling to follow up on referrals and future appointments, I am never able to get a hold of anyone and always have to leave a message. It usually takes about 2-3 days for them to give me a call back as well.

I am very satisfied with, Dr. Fernandez, and his Medical Assistant, Nikki they have compassion, and most of all listening to my medical concerns. , As for the rest of the staff, they are efficient, but, some do get a little difficult to talk to . But! The Billing Dept. GREAT​ job . I would have never believed how they supported my billing situation, and followed step by step, to give me peace of mind 🌄. Thank You New Hope, and you do stand by your name there is New Hope for all who goes to this Family Medical Practice

My doctor is Dr. Fernandez, he is a great doctor. The staff, including front desk, nurses, lab, all are very friendly on on spot when it comes to the job. Without a single doubt, I know the Lord pointed me to this office. I have been a patient going on seven years and I have no complaints! :-)

Dr. Fernandez and the PAs were wonderful for years. I changed insurance and moved but I miss them. Definitely the best doctor and most peaceful office atmosphere ever. Highly recommended.

I love Dr Fernandez his being my doctor for several years. I usually don’t have any issues with him. Now, office staff is awful mostly since the last couple of years. They never answer the phone, you leave a message and something they take 2-3 days to answer you back, if they where supposed to call you back for some requested information something they don’t even call you. Front desk is unprofessional, they are very rude and they even gossip about other patients right in front of everybody. I’m the kind of person that almost all the time even when people are rude I try to be respectful and polite but I’m done with the front desk personnel. It’s a shame! Specially knowing how of a good doctor he is.

The Doctor there is great! But LeLe is unprofessional.she told me that she would have Katrina..(The office manager)to return my call...She quote my phone number to me...I waited for a call that never happened . I calls back and get Cindy ..No one can tell me how do they expect an 80 yr.old Lady to call them on the weekend and cancel an appointment nevertheless.. I was assisting my mom in canceling her appointment for 1pm and it was 8am....Why do they make things difficult...Oh by the way Katrina never called back....All they could tell me is that my phone was disconnected....When in fact I call them on the same phone

We love this practice! Dr. Brooks went above and beyond to help us find a specialist who was fianlly was able to diagnose our daughter and get her treatment. She takes us seriously and her responsibility to her patients! Since seeing her, our whole family had become patients there. Our girls love Ms. Michaelsen! She has been a tremendous blessing and a caring and throughout medical professional. Recently when our daughter needed a prescription that was difficult to fill, the office staff worked diligently to help us fill it. One young lady even gave us her cell phone number so that we could call her after office hours as she tried to track down a place to fill it, which she managed to do!!! We have been very impressed and pleased with New Hope Family Practice and would highly recommend them.

This place wasnt the worst experience Ive ever had. However, it certainly wasnt a pleasant one either. The staff never answers the phone, instead always letting it go to voicemail, which was the biggest hiccup for me. My first appointment they tried to schedule me with a bunch of lab tests and other unnecessary things(even tried to get me to see a psychologist to prove Im ADD.) There wasnt really a caring sincere vibe there. I cancelled all my appts and moved on.

Ive been using this office for a little over a year, the PA I see is very personal & professional. However they dont answer the phone, I called at least 10 times needing an appointment. The front desk staff is not helpful, has no customer service training, almost rude!

Not really sure how to rate them. I cant get through to them on the phone AT ALL unless I call 10 times....LITERALLY. Its just a headache and honestly thinking about changing my PCP because I feel like they dont really care enough especially since they cant answer their phones or return messages. The doctors are great, but the communication is terrible.

Great doctor! FRONT DESK NEEDS WORK.Beware->They have a policy that if you have individual insurance through the marketplace (ACA/OBAMA CARE) you must make a deposit of $125 when you arrive to your appointment in case your insurance doesnt cover the entire visit. (This is their own policy, not a standard healthcare provider policy. I called my insurance company when I did not see the deposit reflected on my EOB and they told me they didnt have any record of a deposit made..) Then, they keep your deposit for 90 days. You must call the clinic to ask for your deposit back, they cut the checks toward the end of the month and either you drive to the clinic to pick it up or you can request them to mail it to you. I know all this because I went through it, not because they were forthcoming with informarion. Apparently if I had not bothered to call they would have either kept my money indefinitely or kept my check at the office without notifying me.Lastly the middle aged woman at the front desk (dont know her name, but the rest of the front desk team are younger) should rethink her career choice as she is NOT cut out for customer service. (No greeting, no smile, etc..)Once you get past the front desk staff, the team members are awesome! The nurses and doctor I saw were amazing!

This place does all they can to swindle you out of your money. Schedules unnecessary tests just so they can bill you and your insurance.They are also 20 minutes to 45 minutes behind schedule. The staff is not very friendly.

It is such a shame that I have to leave this review because I tried multiple times contacting the office manager at this practice to avoid this happening but I was never contacted. I was a patient here years ago and after not being seen in the office for a couple years, I called to make an appointment to be seen. I was told by the receptionist on the phone that I would have to come in and fill out some paperwork to update my file before I could make an appointment with a provider. She told me to come in the next day around 2-ish to fill out said paperwork and then she said that she would see if I can be squeezed in with the PA afterwards. Apparently, her telling me to come in around 2-ish to fill out paperwork means that I had an appointment because after deciding to go with a different practice, I received a bill in the mail for $75 for two missed appointments. At first I thought it was a mistake (1. because I never had an appointment and 2. because I definitely never had a second apppointment) so I called billing and she told me that this was an issue I would have to take up with the office manager. I called the office manager multiple times and left multiple voicemails but NEVER received a call back. I just now received a bill in the mail from collections and I am honestly amazed that this has happened. Its actually very sketchy because I have found multiple reviews online for this place from people who have had similar experiences (random charges for supposedly missed appointments). I think this is a poor way to conduct business and to make an extra dollar. I would not recommend this office solely because of their poor management and communication.

Wife talked me into seeing same dr. First check up was normal. They scheduled me a year check up and I as called 24hours before appointment and I said I need to check with work. I called later in day an said to cancell I would reschedule. A few months later I et a bill for $100. Saying I missed 2 appointments. I asked and they said I cancelled the first one with in 24hours. The 2nd which I was never told about I no showed. I told them Im not paying this and they can remove me from client list. They told me I could not make another appointment until I paid and I hung up. Since then I have received more letters and is now saying $75. Obviously a fake fee they just want to get free money. They have finally sent me a letter saying they are sending to collections. Funny they can do that and I havent been there in a year nor been serviced... money hungry dr office

Theyve managed to mess up my billing and/or appointment scheduling every single time Ive went there. The doctor gave me false instructions for a medication that I was prescribed (a potentially dangerous mistake).
