Its a learning salon. A student washed my hair before brushing it out for me and it formed a loc (I explained that I just took out braids and had an appointment with someone else that was going to do my hair for me but she cancelled and I was already too far away from home (2 hrs) to comb through it myself). Then the guy that was gonna blow-dry it pulled.yhe knots.out instead of cutting it..so that part of my hair is now damaged. And then I got my hair braided by a woman that spoke no English. She did ok but she left while.doing my hair and didnt come back for about 20 minutes. She said shell be right back so I was expecting her to be RIGHT BACK but she had went to sit down because her back hurts, according to what the other hair dresser said. Overall, they took me in short notice and I got my hair done...

A friend referred me to Isaiah when I was in need of a last minute haircut for my sons headshots when his appointment at another salon was canceled. Isaiah moved his schedule around to fit us in and did an AMAZING Job!! I’ve never seen my son so excited about a haircut. He was beaming the whole car ride home. I will definitely be bringing my son back in the future.

Everyone there is super friendly and welcoming! I went in for a massage with Tobey who was very caring and kept asking me if everything was okay as she went along. She did a great job at making me feel relaxed and comfortable since I didnt know what to expect with it being my first ever massage.

They are super nice but the waiting period is crazy. I went for a protein treatment and it took so long because they were attending to a lot of people

Definitely will be coming back always. I walked in at 2:27 for a 2:30 appointment and she started my hair immediately. Time management at its finest. Very pleased with the outcome of my hair. Highly recommended.

This Salon is THE BEST salon I have been too in awhile! 1st of all, I moved salons because I moved cities and this place hands down beats any salon Ive been too because of their charisma, kindness, and pure faith in each others abilities. 2nd, I went in for a consultation, as this was my first time into the salon and my first time getting box braids, shortly after getting there, WITH NO APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED, Lee (the owner) says Okay, do you want color? I replied and then asked if she was doing my hair right then and there and she says oh yes honey, you can take a seat and well get you started I was in pure shock but obviously so excited! Cause whos not excited about new hair right? And 3rd, they got my hair done in TWO HOURS!! TWO HOURS!! Box braids can take anywhere from four to ten hours alone depending on the specific style you want (obviously it can be shorter time with shorter hair or not as many braids) but my hair is medium length, I wanted extensions, and A LOT of braids! But they had two to four people working on my hair almost the entire time just so I wouldnt have to sit long (Im pregnant) and they also had actual appointments to get to. So yes, yes yes yes, go here, you will LOVE it, no regrets. Thank you guys so much!! I am overwhelmingly happy with how my hair turned out!💕

Scheduled an appointment for a consult for my son. I decided to give them a chance despite all the negative things I had heard. A few days before the appointment I got a text saying they canceled the appointment. No message saying why and no explanation at all. Bad customer service out the gate is not someone I want to do business with. Ill take my money else where. Good luck staying in business.

I actually came here for a massage and Tobey did a fantastic job. Thats the only reason Im giving a 4 star. This salon is extremely loud and not relaxing at all. When someone goes for a massage they expect a calming environment. This was anything but calming and relaxing. I had a hard time trying to block out all the noise in the shop. There was no music in the actual massage room, but the music out in the salon was loud. I could here peoples conversations, doors slamming ,sinks running, and someone was actually there testing the fire alarms. It was very hard to enjoy this experience. Wich is a shame, because like I said, Tobey was great,and I would probably return if the environment was more relaxing.

Great find for me who has a mixed kid and always struggled to maintain their hair. K owledgeable and friendly staff. My kiddo loved their hairstyle and got great advice on how to care for their hair!!

I got a deep conditioning and a hair cut.. Although clear instructions were given and I had a full inspiration board of how I wanted the cut... it was cut shorter than requested.I have come to love it. And my agent isnt too mad.Covid compliance was not a mention, enforced, or followed. There was no health check in. No tempature check. Multiple people had masks either off or half way on. Thankfully both shop doors were open- it was disheartening but trying to support a black female run business.Also dont be deceived none of the stylist from the businesses pictures were present during my services.

The vibe was beautiful and the music took me away mentally and people were walking out with satisfied looks and some of the nicest styles Ive in the PNW. Take the family or yourself, youll be satisfied with the experience

While everyone was polite this was one of the worst salon experiences I have ever had! I came out with the exact hair style I came in and said I didnt want. After telling the owner I need to have my hair done in a way so I can fit my work hat on, they manage to give me the bulkiest braids ever. Then the owner blaims her workers for making more braids than what she said. Mind you I was there when she relayed the message to her helper to start working on my hair and, I never heard her tell him that. But instead of fixing it she just days it is what it is. I thought maybe when I got home I would figure out a way to make it work. But I cant do anykind of style and be within my work regulations with these braids and, Ive wasted so much money and time.Despite a messed up style she would have about 3 people working on my head and at the same time and, pulling in different directions causing so much uneeded tension and pain in different area in my head. I scheduled the appointment with her but she barely did my hair she had so many different students who were learning on my head throughout the proceeds. I have never had this many people work on my head for one appointment beforeThe pricing also didnt add up. I was charged $55 for a trim and which definitely wasnt the price I was quoted.I am now having to spend an entire day trying to redo my hair so that I can go to work tomorrow, after spending several hundred dollars for a style this salon didnt do. Dont go here. I ignored the reviews at first but it isnt worth it.

Bought a Groupon a month ago and made an appointment. During my appointment making I was asked how much I paid. Confused why they needed to know I told them I dont know. Now today. Day of appointment Im told they discontinued this service a couple weeks and have to cancel and I need to call Groupon for refund. Upset I inquired why they didnt inform me 2 weeks. Her response they just now saw it. Horrible service. She was nasty and rude about their mistake. Wont ever return nor recommend.

First time going to Tangles and Locs today (November 2020). Box braids came out great thanks to Fatima, Dina, and Lee! Saved a ton of time going to the professionals... I felt the price was reasonable and included the hair :-) They all jumped in and helped too. Friendly group and I will be back for my next install!

OK so I went into this place a week prior and set up my appointment, I asked her how long it would take for her to take my hair from the color that it was which was Auburn, to a blonde she said she could do it all in one sitting and it would not take more than three hours... WRONG!!I was there for eight hours. I had three or four different people in my hair, and to make it so bad after she put the blonde bleach on my hair this lady decided to go and get her eyebrows done. So I’m sitting underneath the heater with this plastic bag over my head and my hair is literally crunching crackling I can smell it, and I can hear it my hair is burning to hell! So I finally find where this woman is getting her eyebrows done, I go in there and I told her I need to have this hair dye washed out of my hair it’s burning my hair”I was there for eight hours. I had three or four different people in my hair, and to make it so bad after she put the blonde bleach on my hair this lady decided to go and get her eyebrows done. So I’m sitting underneath the heater with this plastic bag over my head and my hair is literally crunching crackling I can smell it, and I can hear it my hair is burning to hell! So I finally find where this woman is getting her eyebrows done, I go in there and I told her“I need to have this hair dye washed out of my hair it’s burning my hair“She looked at me and said I’m over exaggerating and to give it 15 more minutes, and then come back and get her...i’m gonna step away from this story really quick and just ask the entire Internet, do you think that she was professional for saying that? Because I was mortified I wanted to get out of there so badly but I was stuck because I had blonde bleach in my hair....Back to what happened, so I wait 15 minutes and I find her again and I beg her to wash the dye out of my hair, she doesn’t even do it, she has this other guy wash my hair and he got soap and water in my eyes twice, and he elbowed me, so after he washes the dye out of my hair, he did not even have the common sense to put conditioner in my hair, so then he had to go back in and put conditioner in my hair, and at this point I don’t even want him touching me but what can I do? So anyways after they pull the towel off of my hair you can clearly visibly see around 6 to 8 inches of destroyed I mean completely destroyed hair follicles. I ended up losing almost half of the length of my hair by going in there to her. And she really didn’t even do anything, everybody else did all of her hard work, the only thing she did do which was a major deal was put that blonde dye in my hair and refuse to let me have it taken out. Long story short, if you want braids there is a young lady in there named Fatima and she is amazing, but everybody else really needs to show certifications for cosmetology because I’m not buying it, and she charged me well over $200 which I thought was funny because if She had any common sense she would apologize and offer that s*** for freeAdditionally, she was trying to loop me into some type of business deal and she did not even know me for more than 20 minutes before she just pounced on me as though I was really going to give a stranger who can’t even do my hair properly $500 of my money to invest in her business LOL oh my gosh just at your own caution OK

Very nice place but my relaxer was the worst.. she applied relaxer in wet hair, left me yo burn as went to have lunch.. I had to stand up to look for that woman to let her know I was burning...It took me 5 hours to get done... never ever try perm there

I have been looking for a great barbershop that was on point with great service and skills. I work at Lexus of Seattle and one of my co-workers came in with a great fade. When I asked were he got it he said my moms shop. So I asked him immediately to schedule me an appointment. I went into today and I was greeted by Miss Lee with a hug and smile like she knew me forever. Then she asked if she could help me and we scheduled an appointment with Kyle. I began to share my story not knowing I was talking to his mom. Kirk Franklin was playing in the background it felt like home the atmosphere was great and welcoming. My haircut by Kyle is the best that I have had in a long time. Kyles attention to detail and passion to do a good job is very transparent. So if you are looking for a great experience with a family love and spirit Tangle’s & Loc’s is your location!

What a great place,the salon owner is my new BFF! The receptionist was friendly and helpful. I walked in was greeted right away and taken back to have the most amazing!shampoo by a stylist named Keygna(sorry if miss spelled) we will call him King. He was very nice I had the best hair washing ever! Shortly after I was introduced to my new stylist/ salon owner Lethia. She quickly noticed i was in desperate need of protein treatment alongside my haircut. She explained why it was important for such treatment. This lady knows her natural hair ladies! It was 300 plus wasted! I paid them 175 to order me human hair four bundles. I go get my hair down. The girl was told to dye one bundle out of four and she died all four! Two ladies work on my hair. The lady that did the front that didnt listen and dyed all four bundles braid good the lady that did the back was absolutely horrible! When she was done I told her these braids are going to come out they are nowhere near my scalp. I was in a rush I was leaving out of town I leave by time I got home four braids had fallen out. The next morning my whole head was all smash together like one big dread lock because the girl that dyed the hair fried it! It was 175 plus 250 wasted. I do not recommend this shop.

Braids did not last 2 week before coming undone, my braids were tangled into one at the end and was ridiculously hard to take out.

I found my hair dresser!!!! Lee is the BOMB!!!I have been wearing my hair short for a couple of years now and most places I went to never got it quite right. Left my cut either too masculine or too frumpy. I came to Lee and just placed myself in her hands. Asked her for a Wash and Wear cut (I got a one year old, I aint got time 😂). She gave me a LOOK!!! Makes me look cool walking out and it still looks good as I grow it out because Lord knows I dont come in as often as I should. Anyway shes a Pro. Go see her. Youll see 😊

This place is amazing. Not only do the braid and do hair well. Lee and Renner did mine and my whole bridal parties hair. It was so many different types of hair and we were all happy. My hair stayed all day long and didn’t move. They made my wedding so special.

Lee, the owner of Tangles and Locs Salon is attentive, an excellent multi tasker, exudes confidence and knows hair. For ex, I was sold when she said she could turn my stubborn Asian, ethnic hair platinum blonde. I was 50/50 at first, but after hearing her procedure irl, I was sold and booked an appointment. After our first session yesterday, my hair has lifted and I’ll be able to accessorize it with whatever color I want, to withstand Seattle grey haha. Thanks Lee and friendly staff! I’ll be coming back for some trendy looks and more, it’s a full service salon and definitely a North end’s secret.
