I was given a gift card to Barclays Salon and was not pleased with my results. I showed the manager who cut my hair a picture of how I wanted my hair to be colored and my hair was the complete opposite. When making my appointment, I requested to have a stylist who was the best with coloring. As you can see from my pictures attached, my hair did not resemble my example shown at all. The comments from my fiance and friends were very upsetting. They said my hair looked grey, yellow, and a greenish tone. I have e-mailed and left multiple voicemails trying to speak to someone to resolve this issue and no one has contacted me to make my experience better. I spent close to $300 and will not be returning to this salon.

Very classy, respectable, and friendly atmosphere. Ive only been there twice now and regardless of each stylist you ALWAYS get a perfect hair cut! I have a very intricate BOB hair style and thinning hair. Yet I leave feeling pretty and fulfilled. Absolutely a lovely place!!! And will always return faithfully ...thank YOU!!!!!

I don’t normally write these, but Barclay’s Hair Design deserves the full 5 star review!I’m always a little cautious going to new places to get my haircut but Barclay’s made me feel at ease. The secretary is friendly and answers any questions you may have. Ryan cut my hair and trimmed my beard. He did a fantastic job! I will definitely be going back next month!

Leslie!!!I have seen other stylists over the years and I always come back. She NEVER disappoints on outcome, and always works with me even when Im indecisive. Not to mention, she is never boring to sit and talk with during the process!The owner Ryan always says hello cause Ive been there often enough that he knows me despite never being in his chair.I have been here on and off for 14 years but Leslie will always be my top choice!I have also made referrals to her for colleagues and complete strangers that compliment my hair.Ill always recommend this stylist to anyone searching!

The owner is the rudest person to greet customers which makes me not even want to try their stylists. I walked in wanting to make an appointment and the owner immediately asked if I had a mask. To which I did not (which I know was not good on my part) the owner then condescendingly told me that I needed to leave and call to make an appointment. So I’m wondering if you’re open to perform haircuts why some customers I saw through the window weren’t wearing masks and why I wasn’t offered one by the salon to wear while I made my appointment. Very unprofessional and rude. Never giving them my business again. I also know several cosmeticians who have left the business due to the owner. A very toxic environment and I highly suggest you do not go here.

Went here to try to find a new salon. Did not work out. I have a complicated cut that is in the middle of a rebuild. I had pictures and offered instructions and she was confident she could do it. She couldnt. At this point I am sure she had no idea how to cut the hair cut at all. Also pro tip- when someone over styles your hair in a way that you never would and isnt compatible with the cut it means they butchered it. Its bad. Its going to take a lot of time and money I dont have to fix. Really nice people. Really nice salon. But if you have something complicated going on I wouldnt recommend this place.

Mary Michael is a wonderful stylist but their receptionist is another story. She is very rude. Entered salon 10 minutes before appointment and was told I needed to wait in my car and they would call me when my stylist was ready for me. I wasn’t informed of this when they had to reschedule my appointment 3 weeks earlier, nor was I informed of this in their reminder emails and text messages. I was also not informed that they are not able to blow dry hair due to regulations for reopening during the Covid 19 outbreak. Really? Overall a disappointing experience and not sure I even want to return.

Leslie always does an awesome job with my ‘do. I have been seeing her for over a decade, and I frequently get compliments on the cut and style between visits. She doesn’t just cut the same style time after time, either. She’ll adjust to my whims, or I’ll leave my cut to her capable artistic talents. We’ve done color as well with fun results. She’s wonderful.

I just wanna say I AM FEELIN MYSELF TODAY! Needed a new salon, as I just moved to Everett, and decided to try out Barclays. Ryan Barclay did an AMAZING job on my hair!! I needed a cut so badly, but I also changed it up a bit and got bangs for the first time in 25 years, and my hair looks so perfect! I’m so pleased with the job he did, he listened very well, and delivered exactly what I pictured in my head! I can’t stop smiling! And they are just so nice here! Ryan is a great person to talk to as well while you are getting your hair done! All in all, I absolutely love this salon and will be returning from here on out!

Ive never had a bad experience here and Ive had some pretty complicated work done to my hair. Perfect cuts, perfect foils, even perfect lip waxes! I dont have a favorite stylist, Im set up with someone different every time and they are all very nice and attentive to my ideas for my hair.

Took me a while to decide to actually write this review or not. But I figured maybe it can help someone else like I wish it had helped me. I made an appt for a full balayage and a haircut. I had looked at the prices on their website so I had an idea of how much it would cost me and how much cash I needed for a tip. When I got there 15 min early, I was told I supposed to wait in my car, but no one ever told me that was a rule. Not when I made the appt or any of the confirmation emails/texts. The stylist was very nice and very friendly. I showed her a picture of the balayage look/color I wanted, and she said she could do that. She briefly went over prices, and said every extra bleach was $20? so she started with bleach and foils on my hair, and I didnt realize until she was half way done with the back of my hair that she was doing highlights. taking every other chunk of hair with the comb, type of thing. The only thing different was she didnt go to my roots, she did some chunks higher than others. I was assuming I was going to get the only kind of balayage I had ever seen- where they take a big piece of hair and paint on the sides and the bottom. its not highlights, theres not every other strand of hair. I figured at that point it was too late to say something, and who was I to tell the professional she was doing her job wrong? Not only that. but she had to go back to mix more bleach FIVE more times. FIVE TIMES. I know I have long thick hair but I didnt think she would need 6 bowls of bleach. I literally paid $100 just in bleach for her to highlight my hair. This charge is unheard of in any salon Ive been to, nor does the cost of bleach for the tiny half full bowls nearly cost them that much. Long story short- stylist was nice. But Im beyond frustrated that I spent so much money, sat in a chair for 5.5 hours, and ended up with what looks like grown out highlights.

Hair turned out okay, but I dont see myself coming back here. I decided to try this salon out, as Im looking for a new salon after mine closed. I emailed requesting an appointment, no one ever got back to me. Finally had a chance to call, and they didnt have access to the information I submitted online. Okay.. who did I send my information to then??Upon scheduling, I was told their $69 new client special was only for very limited, specific services and would not apply for my foil appointment (nothing stated on their website listing their conditions for this offer). They also required a credit card to hold my appointment, in case I no-showed the appointment. Ive never had a salon ask for this and Ive never no-showed appointments, but... okay. I gave them the benefit of the doubt.Came in for my appointment, and NO ONE was there. Doors were locked, lights off, my call went straight to voicemail. So they can no-show my appointment, but if I no-show theyd charge me??? I was standing outside in the freezing cold. Someone finally arrived as I was about to leave, turns out it was the OWNER, who my appointment was with! He apologized, as he thought the appointment was 15 minutes later than what it actually was. I wasnt given any sort of credit for my time spent waiting, just a quick apology then he moved on. I had even received text messages confirming my appointment time, youd think theyd show up since they should know their own schedule. We started late, which cut into my personal time and was an inconvenience to me.He ended up not having enough time to do the foil AND cut, so he asked another stylist to finish with the cut. I spent a LOT of money here, with no discount for being forced to wait for my own appointment. I honestly would have been happy with $10 off my services, really anything that would be an acknowledgment to being inconvenienced.Ive had previous stylists at other salons ask more questions about what I want and how I style my hair than this place. Not calling new clients back from the online forms they send via your website to your business is LOSING MONEY. Asking clients for credit cards due to no-shows then proceeding to no-show a new client youre trying to make a good impression with WILL lose you money. Advertising a new client special that you choose not to honor for a new client is absolutely ridiculous. I wished he did my hair a little different, if he actually asked me questions about what I wanted. Leslie was friendly and a pleasure to talk to for my cut. Otherwise, it was an expensive experience in a seemingly overhyped salon with poor communication that mislead me as a customer and didnt respect my time.

Ryan gives me the best mens cut Ive ever had. Their shop is always clean, the receptionist always friendly. They offer you a beverage upon entering, and when they give you a wash, everyone whos cut my hair has given me an exceptional scalp massage. Their product knowledge is tops, and all of their stuff is reasonably priced/typically >$20There’s a couple of one star reviews here of disgruntled people that are frankly pathetic. In 30+ years of getting my hair did, no one has done a better job than Ryan. Their reviews should be absolutely overlooked, as they aren’t factual. They can’t even spell there/their/they’re .

I called at about 6pm to ask if they could do an emergency haircut with no appointment. I got squeezed in which was my first bit of luck, but I felt even luckier to have such a knowledgeable, experienced and easy going stylist such as Ryan. He fixed my hair up despite how I had butchered it myself and I had such a good time talking with him during the haircut, this was the best salon experience Ive ever had and will be the only salon that I go to for the foreseeable future. I could say more but its a review and not an essay! You should really try this salon out if you dont have a go-to yet

I took my son to get his haircut here and we had an appointment set with a stylist. They took one look at us and set him down with someone who has never cut hair before. I never felt so upset with a salon/barber shop in my life. It was not the ladys fault that cut his hair but the owner who obviously switch styles once she saw us. I would never go here again nor will I recomend them to someone I dont even like let along someone I do like.

This place was so disrespectful but to there credit in a nice way. They are very judgemental. If you are a minority and you dont look like you have money they will stick you with someone who has no experience and no qualifications to even be there.

I’ve been going here for 3 years now, and I think I will have to find another salon to go to. They recently hired a lady named Erin (the one with green hair). She is so rude! Every time I call to set an appointment, she always make me feel unwelcome. I love this salon, love their service but they need to change the receptionist or something.

Great place! Jessica brought my copper and orange toned hair to a more neutral, cool tone that I wanted. I had her use the PH balancer, great stuff! My hair is not damaged and Im so happy. Jessica did not cut my hair, but the client before me got her hair cut short and it looked amazing!

I came in with pictures and I still had to tell the which number guard to use how short to cut it and how to line my hair line. After I said I want my hair cut exactly like the picture. It was so bad that I might as well have cut my hair myself.

I am new to the area, picky about my hair and finding a new stylist. Weeks ago I finally came in as I passed the salon everyday. NEW GUEST SPECIAL $69 for a cut, color and style. Came in tonight for my appt. Got a hair cut, color, and a style. Looks amazing, hairstylist honestly did an amazing job.. I go to pay.. BOOM...$207 freaking dollars.. ummm.. why? You had a cut and a foil plus the color. Not ONCE did anybody there mention to me the foil didnt count as a color and I didnt ask to have her color my hair underneath.. that was so misleading and misrepresenting. I was never informed of the prices on the foil.. to me, that was a color. I didnt have enough money I had to use my credit card.. thanks for the opportunity to get my hair done, but a little open honesty BEFORE would have been nice..especially when I asked multiple times. Pretty shady I think..

Barclays has been my salon for at least a couple of years now. I have never been kept waiting and am always amazed how beautiful Mary-michael keeps my hair looking!! So many issues with my experience here. Biggest are I had 6:30 pm appointment and she didnt start working on me in earnest until 8:00 pm. Salon owner Ryan came in to close since we were going so late and complained repeatedly about how he had to get his kid to bed. I was annoyed it was so late but just wanted it done. No one offered to reschedule. Stylist Robyn became stressed and rushed. My hair looked ok but wasnt exactly what I wanted. I was stressed by Ryan at this point and just wanted to go home. I finally left at 11 pm and she didnt do everything she said she was going to do. She was to contact me for a follow up. I never heard from her. I was supposed to have a balayage with violet highlights. The next morning there is no violet in my hair. Instead kind of patchy orange. I contacted them 3 times no response. And I was charged $253 for this lovely experience. I dont want them touching my hair again at this point. And since they arent willing to contact me to try to fix it, why would I want them to?

I have visited Barclays 4 times now- Theresa is wonderful- She listens to what you want and always delivers 100%. The only problem I have is with my most recent visit 10/29/16. I am on a budget and was expecting to pay about $150 for partial foil- cut and root touch up. I have very short hair. I was not informed that Theresa received a promotion (which is well deserved) but that meant my price increased $50 dollars before a tip. A little pricey for me. It would have been nice to be informed prior to my services. I will continue to see Theresa but -I suggest you get a consultation confirming final price before being shocked at the end of your services as I was. I would give Barclays 5 stars if their color prices were a little more affordable.

The owner (Ryan) foiled my hair and there were messed up parts (literally spots) all over my hair.I went to another stylist at a different salon for a cut (she doesnt color...Gene Juarez) and she was shocked by how bad the color was. My hair looks so bad it is embarressing! So after talking to several professionals I decide to go show Ryan what he did and request a refund. He is lucky I am only asking for a refund because the corrective color I need isnt going to be cheap, he would have been wise to give me a refund, it would have cost him less money. Ryan offered to fix it but I declined. Seriously?! If you mess it up this bad and now my hair is fragile you think Im going to give you another shot at it?! No thanks! If he couldnt do a good job the first time why would I think he could fix his mistakes which is far more complicated. He then basically tells me he doesnt give refunds and says, have a nice life. Wow! Not only is he an awful hairstylist but he is a rotten manager, and business owner as well! Sadly I didnt read the reviews prior to going there but if you read the reviews, refusing to fix their errors or give refunds is a common theme here. Ryans parents were great stylists and business owners (especially his mother) and they built this business. Sadly, Ryan in my opinion lacks integrity as well as the skills to be a good stylist so I doubt this business will be around long unless his parents come back and save it. Thank goodness for social media! I hope I can spare someone else from getting their hair messed up!

Used to be really great. I tried 3 weeks in a row to get an online appt, no response. I then emailed, still no response. Finally my work schedule allowed me to call. The receptionist acted like it was no big deal no one had responded. My regular stylist no longer worked there (second time this has happened here) and the receptionist was unwilling to look for a 6pm appt for me. Kept trying to give me later appointments. Im looking for a new place now.

The manager of this place damaged my hair and when I told him that I was very unhappy about that he told me that my hair was already damaged before he touched my hair..After sharing a few words he ended up calling the police on me, his argument was that I wasnt having money to pay for his services..

I waited 15 minuets to be told I had to come back in 4 hours for a cut...
