I have been seeing Dr. Mestel for several years now. She is a very upbeat person, has listened to me, and helped me immensely. I feel I have formed a great doctor patient relationship.

I was astonished on my first appointment. I was just getting a body routine check for cancer spots. She did it so quickly that it was over in a minute. She took care of a few spots. I had one on my nose that she said I could have it removed only if I wanted it. Well, it was cancer. In that first visit she told me she didn’t have time to answer my questions because of time. Second visit to remove skin tags was done without anesthetic. I told her I had questions and once again she didn’t seem to have the time to answer them. I got upset and she answered some of them. Even laughed at some things. She is clearly worried about her paycheck and NOT the welfare of her patients. I recommend finding a different dermatologist. I will NOT be going back. I DON’T know how medicine is just a business. The true welfare of patients has dissolved. Just another problem in this world. She made me feel uncomfortable and that I was way beneath her and her time. Maybe it is because I am u fortunately on Medicaid because I can’t work due to my health.

I had two appointments this week , one of which I was so nervous because of my family history with skin cancer. I went back the next day because of my fear I forgot to ask about other places on my skin .She had three people ( students) with her and did not ask if I was comfortable with them being in the exam room . Then as I asked the questions she seemed to be laughing under her mask , which made me even more uncomfortable!I return the next day to take care of the other spots that where overlooked, this time she only came in with two students, again I was not asked if this was ok . She hurried through BOTH appointments/ exams , she again seem to not truly care if I was worried , she was just in a hurry to move on to the next patient!I’m sorry but if a patient has many relatives with skin cancer , I wouldn’t rush through ANY exam ( she looked over my entire body in about two minutes)!I highly suggest looking for another Dermatologist, I will not be returning!

Have been to other Dermatologist. Enjoyed her ability to discern care and treatment. Understood readily the situation and care she could provide. Happy to have her in my court of care.

I found her very cold. I was very uncomfortable around her. She had a tag along doctor with her and it was awkward. I didn’t want to return but I hadn’t found a new doctor so I made another appointment. The office had moved and the directions I was given weren’t very clear. I ended up at the old location. The person at the reception desk knew I was looking for the dermatology department before I said anything. When I asked how he knew he said he had several people that day asking the same question. He pointed me in the right direction but it made me 10 minutes late. When I got to the counter I had to wait for one of the employees to open the window and wait on me. She called the back and I was told the doctor left. I said I’m 10 minutes late so I can’t see the doctor? Her reply was that it was 12 minutes. I’ll never go back there.

I am very impressed with Dr. Mestel! She is caring, professional and thorough. Her office runs very efficiently and on schedule. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing a dermatologist.

First visit. Seems like a good doctor. Funny and seems knowledgeable. Time will tell.
