My son had the best experience! The staff really know their products. They were able to quickly pull a number of choices that looked amazing at reasonable prices. We needed a quick return time and they delivered on their promise. Great place! Looking forward to seeing them again in the future.

Chuck and Nate were incredibly patient and encouraging when teaching me how to put contacts in for the first time. I struggled initially and they both offered tips and tricks, even demonstrating different methods by putting contacts in and out on themselves multiple times. Amazing experience at Big City Optical! Went in for an Eye exam and contact lens fitting. Doctor was thorough in the examination and was very kind to answer all my questions regarding my special eye condition. Chuck and Nathan are the best! they showed me how to use contacts and having them there to give me tips and tricks for my first time using contacts was incredibly helpful. They also helped me pick out some really nice frames that were priced pretty reasonably. Good selection of frames here too, check them out!

I love this place because Chuck is the absolute master of finding glasses that actually look good on me, not to mention these awesome new contact lenses that are so comfortable I keep forgetting that I am wearing them. Im really glad I went to my neighborhood optometrist. Chuck and Cole were very warm and welcoming. Dr T was friendly, thorough and patient. I really felt safe in her capable hands. Speaking of safety, the office also seemed clean and disinfected. Cole was also very patient and helpful, helping this lady with the dilated eyes navigate through paperwork with tiny lettering. I brought in a pair of glasses that needed new frames last week (with a cranky toddler in tow) and Chuck - the manager - could not have been nicer or more helpful. He put me at ease right away with telling me how he would take care of calling my insurance and working out the logistics so I didn’t have to pay a fortune out of pocket. He also followed up, and ensured that everything fit correctly once I picked up the glasses, and even tuned up another pair for free. Chuck had my insurance options prepared before I arrived, and had spent time with the insurance agent making sure I could utilize the best option available. After a very comprehensive exam, the doctor was able to update my contact prescription, and then Chuck and Nate gave me the great news that my insurance covered the exam and a years supply of contacts, thanks to their efforts. I’m new to the area and was looking for a place for an eye exam and to order contacts and I found Big City Optical through reading google reviews and they led me to the right place! The place is lovely and team is even lovelier. Super friendly, upbeat, positive vibe in this place, they make you feel welcome and right at home. The doctor was very kind and patient and explained everything through the exam. I’ve been wearing glasses and contacts for years but I learned a few important new things from him about eye health and care. I really appreciated his candid and generous suggestions and advice. I was super confused about insurance stuff, but they were very patient and helpful with figuring it out with me. I had exceptional service at Big City optical today! I would highly recommend them. They are open during the pandemic. I made my appointment two days ago via call - quick and easy. All the staff are super professional and extra careful with health and safety during COVID. The testing machines are wiped before my test and the glasses are all sterilized after try-on. Chuck, the general manager, is awesome, super on top of everything and very patient with all my questions. He was very kind to suggest the most cost effective options for what I needed. I recently ran out of contact lenses so I needed an eye exam. A search on in-network providers landed me at Big City Optical this past Saturday. The general manager Chuck called me the day before to make sure that my insurance is all in order and assured me that if not, we could reschedule if needed. I had my eyes checked and contact lenses fitted with no issue with Dr. OMalley, a very kind doctor who took the trouble to teach me about contact lenses. Overall, it was a really great experience and Im very happy I live so close to this great business!

From the moment I entered, the staff was so friendly and professional. In terms of COVID, they’re taking all the right precautions and sanitizing frames right after you try them on. I was very nervous getting new frames and Chuck was patient in helping me pick out the perfect pair and had great suggestions. My fiancee and I went to Big City for the first time last weekend and we had a great experience! Chuck is so friendly and helpful. He made sure we got the best price possible with each of our insurance plans and he gave great advice on frames.

I was looking for help getting the right lenses fit to my frames. Chuck helped me research alternatives to find a better price (that didnt pan out but he was great and tried nonetheless) and gave me advice about picking the best option and how to handle fitting new lenses. Finding new providers after moving can be really difficult. Luckily, if youve just moved to Evanston (or are a longtime resident), you dont need to look very far to find a fantastic eye doctor! Im always nervous when I move and have to find new doctors but Big City made it such a breeze for my eye care. The General Manager, Chuck, is BEYOND helpful. The customer service is more than I could have ever asked for. I felt like Big City really cared about my well-being and took the time to get to know me as a human being. The store is spotless clean and I felt comfortable and pleasant to be there. They have a wide selection of glasses as well so I highly recommend this place!

I recently purchased a pair of prescription computer glasses but, after using them at work for the first time, I noticed they were a little off-kilter and left a mark on one side of my nose. I visited Big City Optical during my lunch hour to see what they recommended. Chuck did a quick alignment and applied a couple of clear nose pads free of charge, despite the fact that I bought the glasses at a different store. I could not recommend this store highly enough.

I had a great experience at Big City Optical. Ill never be as cool as the people in the pictures on the wall, but the staff treated me as though I were. Dr. Schrenzel used the latest equipment to give me an eye test with a minimum of fuss. Pablo made sure I got frames that are durable and stylish while also working with my insurance. When I came in to pick up the finished glasses, Chuck made sure everything was in great shape. (I think the rest of the team made Chucks job easy.)

I was walking by and saw Big City Opticals storefront, their door open, so I dropped in and was happy to learn that their eye doctor is started to take appointments.Chuck was very helpful in checking our optical insurance to see coverage for exam and glasses--they work with at least 3 optical insurance companies. Doctor was great, very friendly and the office has wonderful new technology for a thorough and accurate test.The frames selection was decent for kids -- most places its a bit tough -- and we got a pair that looked very good on her.The whole process was fast and easy, no hassles, in an out in decent time, very convenient.
