I went to the office four times in an attempt to get a contact lens prescription. The first time was my eye examination and the other three were for fittings. For those three fitting visits I left each time with a new trial pair because I was still unable to see. I called a few weeks later to explain that I was moving and would no longer be able to wait and that I would like a refund because I was walking away without a prescription. Kimberly and the other individual (male) were very kind when I came in for my fifth time and wanted to help me but their hands were tied as Dr. Harris was the only one who would be able to provide me with a refund. Dr. Harris asked me to come sit for another examination and I explained to her that I would like a refund because I would be unable to come back for another fitting or examination to see if the contacts were the correct prescription. She told me I could not get a refund because services were provided. I explained to her that I was walking away without a prescription and she offered me an eye glass prescription. I declined because I was unable to see from the prescriptions she had written for me and I had received four examinations at this point. She stated that it was my fault I would not have a prescription because I refused to come back in. She also told me that it was my fault because I was not compliant and did not return this 5th time with my contacts in my eyes. She refused my refund and left me with an eyeglass prescription that contained the date of my initial appointment on it. My initial appointment was on 05/01/2021 and the fifth and final visit where I explained to her that I could wait no longer was on 07/08/2021. I have been to Dr. Harris previously in 2016 and did not have any issues.

I was in the store and decided to check out the optometry department. The woman who waited on me was very pushy and would say anything to boost my bill. I ended up walking out. Ive been wearing glasses since I was a kid. I know what I need and what I dont need. The woman who was my sales agent had a wealth of misinformation. Dont waste your time here.

Went to the optical center for glasses they really need to get better signs board directions. The salesperson was a little pushy but it wasnt too bad I did end up buying from them as I had gone to several other cheaper places and was less expensive. But the length of time to get the glasses is much longer than the other stores. When I arrived at the store I was really the only customer and all of a sudden more customers were coming in and more and there was only one person there the other was on break and I was constantly asked if I mind if he helped the other customer cuz it was supposedly a quick fix but this was two to three customers while I was waiting 4 my order to be completed. Although I wasnt in a real hurry I was starting to get a little irritated.

The optometrist is very thorough and always takes time to answer any questions you may have. The sales staff are always nice and prompt about answering your questions.

The optometrist who gives the exams is very capable. The women who set you up with frames and extras for your glasses are useless. They dont know what theyre doing. First off they will try to sell you every extra lens feature they offer. Anti glare is not as crucial as they make it out to be. Transgressional Lenses that darken in the sunlight dont work when youre driving your car. When they list these features, they fail to mention that each one is several hundred dollars. If you question the price, they will go on and on about how important that particular feature is. I was told what an absolute necessity anti glare was. I have been driving for decades without anti glare lenses and have never had a problem. Remember, their goal is to sell you as much as they can. Transgressional glasses can be nice but they dont work inside a car so you still have to get sunglass clip ons at Amazon or Walmart for $15. As far as the staff goes, I had one woman assist me during my whole ordeal here; I knew there were several women who worked here but I had one in particular who waited on me every time. Yet every time she made a mistake she blamed the other woman who works there even though I had no idea who the other woman was. If the wrong measurement turned up....it was when the other woman waited on me... if the wrong frame was ordered, it was the other woman who made the error. I tried to correct her but she insisted she wouldnt make that mistake. If you need glasses, go to an eye doctor or a company that specializes in eye glasses. Penneys is not the place to trust your eyesight. The people who work here are not qualified. They talk like they know what they are doing......but they dont. Their main goal is to take you for every dollar they can. Why else do you think they got into the optometry business.

Horrible experience. I was told my glasses would be ready to pick up within 2 weeks. 3 weeks in still trying to call with no answer. I will definitely NOT be coming back and will ask for a full refund on these glasses I ordered.

I think a lot of healthcare providers have forgotten that healthcare is not only partly providing care, but also customer service. After a less then stellar experience with a group eye care practice involving rushed exams, billing issues, and condescending attitude on correcting the billing issues, I started searching for a second opinion. I had an eye exam with the former practice, but still was experiencing eye strain and blurry vision.I made an appointment with JCPenney Optical strictly on the fact that I was going to have to pay out of pocket and the cost of the exam would be within my budget. Besides the check in staff being friendly, Dr. Harris is amazing !!!!Not only did she greet me with a handshake, but she took almost double the time that my former doctor did to do an exam and even completed dilation as requested. She identified two issues that were causing my vision problems that were either missed or my other eye physician chose not to tell me about and recommended a treatment plan. The best part is for the cost (even with insurance co-pay) at my other provider, I paid the same amount for an exam by Dr. Harris and received a more comprehensive exam.
