Definitely not a salon that makes you feel good after a hair cut.First of all, this is a no service salon, which was not mentioned at all. The stylist knew I was a new client. She didn’t wash my hair. Just sprayed it semi wet. Then started cutting.Secondly, the cut I got was very generic. Definitely not precision cutting. No thought process on her part. Additionally, she cut more than my photo style. My haircut looks nothing like the photo I showed her. It’s surely a bad cut. But, I’m able to save it by curling it. I’ll just curl it until it grows out.Why did I try this place? It was recommended by a friend so I gave it a shot in my haste to get a trim.$25 is not expensive. But, it is expensive for a bad experience and for what I got.I would not recommend this place. For this service and the cut, and price- go to Great Clips!! 😉

My first time there and I will definitely be coming back! As a customer I dont tend to talk much when getting my hair done, but chatting with them did not feel forced at all. They are very accommodating, friendly and down to earth!

Ive been to other Korean Salons around the area but this is by far the best, I live in Naperville but I would definitely drive this far just to get my haircut here. I showed her a picture of the cut I wanted and she took time to actually look at it to see what needed to be done. Ive done this at other salons and they look at it once and I end up leaving with an ok cut that I did not want nor look like the style I showed. I also got my hair colored here as well. Doing the cut and color she always asked if I was doing ok and if I needed something, she gave me a bottle of water and she also explained what she was doing and why during the cut and the color so that was great as well. Totally recommend going here.

Was looking for a hair salon in the Chicago west/southwest suburbs that could deal with my long thick Asian hair and the Korean owner of the salon (Chong I believe is her name) did a wonderful job with my long layers. I was surprised that the price came out to be $25 as Im used to paying $60+ for a haircut. Ill definitely be coming back again for regular haircuts.

I drive soo far to get to this place. I have had haircuts at multiple places, from cheap ones to really fancy boutiques and this is the only place that thins out my ends they way that I like.I have had my hair colored or highlighted here at least 4 times in the last two years and I have had a great experience each time. I have requested a different color each time (from red all over color to blonde highlights) so they are very versatile. I am about to make another appointment soon and I know it will be perfect. Thanks!

I will always have Q Hair as my go to place to get my hair cut. Chong, the owner, is very skilled at cutting Asian hair and although she recommends having a picture, I always just ask for shorter on the sides and back while longer on top and she does great every time!

This is a no frills place that gives you an excellent hair cut at a very fair price. Chong (sp?) , the owner, is a lovely Korean lady who is very experienced. You can get an excellent hair cut without any frills for less than $20. I have never understood the expensive shampoo, cut, style dry which is gone after the next shampoo. She also gives good advice on how to care for your hair

This shop has many independent artists who charge a very fair price for a great cut. My mom and I have been going for years and love it.

Went from DARK BROWN to SILVER BLONDEI found about this place when my mom told me. The price of haircuts was ridiculously cheap. I just moved back from LA and was used to paying a LOT of money for my hair, especially from a Korean salon where they are always cutting edge. But a year later, I moved again and this place was closer than my old place, so I figured I would give it a shot. This place is a no-frills, kind of nondescript location where you would not think you are going to get top class service. Its located in a strip mall next to a pizza joint and across from all the car dealerships on Ogden in Downers Grove. The owner, Chong is super delightful. She knows all of her customers by name. There is another stylist, Alice who rents a chair and comes in on certain days. Both are great with being up to date on styles, cuts and color. Alice has two younger daughters who she suffers through their hair with so I find she is a little more trendy in her cuts.I mostly have been just getting my greys covered and theyve always used the top formulas: organic Japanese brands, Italian or Korean brands -- depending on what color I wanted. The organic Japanese brand was awesome but it only comes in 4 colors and it is IMPOSSIBLE to cover with anything else (youve been warned!) but it does a FANTASTIC job of covering greys and doesnt damage hair. I highly recommend it as long as you dont want to do highlights or lowlights. Then, a couple years ago, I decided to go back to getting highlights a few times a year. Alice does a phenomenal job at ballayage by hand painting it on, but obviously it takes more time. I got so many compliments on my hair!!Then, I asked about going grey. At this point, because I had been covering my roots for so long, I knew it was going to be a huge process. I did a TON of research and asked about it and realized it wasnt going to be quick, nor cheap so I put it off.But then I decided I didnt want to have to dye my hair every 3 weeks (thats how fast my hair grows) so I bit the bullet and started the process. My starting hair color is shown in the photo as #1.First, they did a huge highlight job where everything was bleached out. You can do 2 processes when you have dark Asian hair - color removal (which is less damaging) or bleach. For various reasons, we had to do the bleach. The total time for numerous strand highlights and bleach was 4.5 hours. Im not joking. I had to go home and come back two days later to finish.Once the highlights were bleached out, and pretty naturally too (see photo #2), then they overlaid three types of toner to get a natural look. This also blends the grey roots as they come in so it is not as visible, preventing me from having to get my roots done every three weeks. Then of course I got a haircut. Step 2 took another 4.5 hours so the total was NINE HOURS to get it done. But it was well worth it. The final color is shown in photo marked final.I was speaking to my best friend, who is Latina and has dark hair also. She lives in Vegas and noted she just changed to an Asian stylist because of her dark, brunette hair. The original stylist had been using a black hair dye which was not at all her normal color. She said that people who dont work w/ dark hair just dont have enough experience to understand that 1) dark does not equal black (black dye is TERRIBLE to remove or overlay on), 2) red/orange tones come out when you dye or bleach dark hair, so you have to know how to combat that and 3) usually Asian/Latinas have coarser hair textures so you have to be knowledgeable for good cuts.EVEN with nine hours of processing, my hair did not suffer that much damage because Q Hair uses olaplex (you can read all about this) to maintain hair integrity.I highly recommend both of these ladies for your hair. Better to do an appointment vs walk-in if possible.#olaplex #Asianhair #Latinhair #nodamage #brunette #brunettetoblonde #trendyhair #organic #noperoxideformulas #darkhair #silverblonde
