Not super patient focused. They seem to overbook themselves and aren’t great at following up or communication. I am not huge on going to the doctor and communicated that at my first appointment. Their lack of attentiveness and rushed appointments don’t make me feel confident that they truly care about my health and helping me find solutions. They rush you in and out and if you have questions about anything other than the exact reason you are there they simply suggest a follow up appointment which just makes me have to pay for yet another appointment without any resolution.

Allison Russell insisted on making an incorrect diagnosis despite evidence to the contrary. She ordered a generic blood panel that would neither prove nor disprove her diagnosis. When the test results came back, I asked for the results from a specific test that would confirm the diagnosis. I later found out that the test hadnt been ordered at that point. The following day, Allison Russell lied to me about when the specific blood test was ordered saying it was ordered at the same time as the generic blood screen. The front desk and the paperwork from the lab show otherwise. The results from the specific blood test disproved her diagnosis.Allison Russell showed herself to be inept, egotistical, and a liar.If you care about your health, go somewhere else.If you are a patient there, be careful with the sign in forms. Although Ive been a patient of Dr. Gehring for over 10 years now, Im just now thinking of transferring out of the practice.I recently had a situation where I was unable to get a timely appointment with her for a Rx refill. It took a day and a half to even find out it could be scheduled with an alternate provider at the practice - due to lack of communication from the front desk team. Honestly had I been notified 3 months ago that I needed the appointment in the first place, this wouldnt have been a stressful situation. After a zoom meeting with Dr. Chantelle Erickson, I left being told that she has other pending agenda items and had to let me go. Understandably connectivity issues are frustrating and can take an appointment longer than usual, but Ive never felt so uncared for from a practice, in just two days, Im taking the time to write this review. The search is on...happy for recommendations in the Sloans Lake area...

Denver Family Medicine has been wonderful. I was referred here by a nurse friend who worked here from time to time and have been coming here for 4 years, ever since moving to Denver.I see Dr. Draeb and she is so kind, always remembers little things about me, and always has a smile on. She truly cares about her patients and their wellbeing. Also, a rarity I’ve found with many medical offices, the front desk team is SO NICE. I’ve never had anyone be impatient with me. Lastly, I barely ever have to wait. They run a tight ship! Highly recommend them as a PCP.

Ive been a patient at this practice for 15 years. I am extremely surprised at all of the negative comments that I see listed here. Both my family and I have always received very good to excellent service and care at this medical practice. This goes for the physicians, other medical personnel and the front office staff, both for annual physicals and sudden illnesses. We called for Covid tests, came in for our appointment two hours later and had the results 15 minutes after that.Thats service! We really like them.

In regards to my visit here I only offer some advice. In seeking a medical provider, do not settle for someone who is not a good fit for you. Your doctor should be accepting of all people, lifestyles and backgrounds and not dismissive or disapproving of your past issues, prior care or what you are currently going through. I found an amazing doctor after my experience at this office who looked at me and my health in an open,, compassionate and holistic way. Im so grateful I didnt settle for mediocre (or worse) care. Advocate for your health and seek out true caretakers. 👍

The doctors and nurse practioner here are horrible and inept. I dont recommend this office. They are lazy by doing the bare minimum, get out of the room as quick as possible, and dont care about your overall health concerns or history. The are not up-to-date on the latest lab tests available. The NP prescribed me a medicine I was allergic to even though she knew my allergy history. If you see the NP they charge you the doctor rate. The doctors they refer you to are not good either. I’ve been to two of their referral doctors and they were just as incompetent with horrible bedside manner.

Been coming here for almost 10 years and I can finally say that I will never be coming here again. This practice has consistently been going downhill for a long time but it has reached a point of no return for me. You never see a doctor, yet get a full bill as if you see a doctor.I have been sick for 3 weeks and went in today looking for a solution. The only diagnosis I received was that you may have mono. Their diagnosis was not based on anything other than a nurse typing in symptoms into a computer. After going through a test to confirm that I didnt have mono, I was told to just wait it out. What a joke. I seriously could have stayed at home and did all of this on my own through the internet. There is no real experience or thought from this practice at all. If you schedule an appointment with Boyer, then this is what to expect.

Rushed off the phone multiple times, advertising information without fine print details, frankly not patient-friendly. Amazing customer service and overall nice people. The reason for three stars is that these guys treat symptoms rather than the underlying issues. I have to reschedule my TB test because they didnt schedule me to have my results read, even though I specifically asked the front desk about it on my way out. I’ve been coming to this practice for 10 years now. Before they moved locations it was good service. Could get in when sick in a reasonable amount of time and Dr. Draeb was awesome. Sadly, I haven’t actually been able to see my primary doctor in person for over four years now. I always have to get pawned off to a NP for my annual exam. They never have availability for when I am sick either, leaving me to little clinics for care. I just left this office over the horrible schedule management and unpersonalized experience for FOUR years. Finally, the portal they use isn’t very useful. You have to go in and “fish” for your test results. Considering myself a technology savvy person, this was set up very poorly. Finally no one told me I had high cholesterol for over THREE years. They just posted the results with a comment in the portal “looks good”. Unacceptable care.

Genuinely upset with the service I received here. First time patient, so I arrived 30 minutes early for my 1pm appointment to fill out the online paperwork. The front desk lady told me that as soon as I finish the paperwork, the doctor would be notified I was there. 1pm rolls around and 3 people who had arrived after me were seen before me. Not a big deal but 1:40pm rolls around and nothing happens. So I go to the front desk to inform the receptionist I have a vet appointment at 2:30 and I dont think I can wait any longer there. Bottom line they forgot about me/ ignored the fact that someone had been sitting in their lobby for over an hour. A nurse comes and gets me 2 minutes later to take all my vitals. Tells me to undress and the doctor will be in shortly. Not 10 seconds later a knock and slight door open but Im half undressed. Come on doc. Tells me Im healthy, gives me a card, no goodbye, no apology, nothing. I was in there for 10 minutes and was out of there by 1:55pm. Extremely upset about a 10 minute visit for over an hour wait. Bottom line, pay attention to your schedule, especially when you get a new patient. Just bummed out all the way around. Oh, and I was late for my vet appointment. Thanks guys.

I got a call Monday saying my bloodwork was messed up and I should have fasted (they specifically told me I didnt need to fast for the physical because I was seeing Coree). I tried to confirm my new appointment during business hours a few times on Tuesday and nobody answers the phone. They call me while Im on the phone and dont leave a voicemail. I try to call them back to see about my blood work and cant get past the receptionist, Brittany. I got hung up on after being placed on hold. I called back and Brittany immediately placed me on hold each time and wouldnt even answer a simple question or transfer me. Her, can you please hold means Im going to place you on hold now and theres nothing you can do about it. She refused to give me her name until I threatened to just show up in the office. Do not go here if you want a competent physician and people that actually care. These people seem too busy to care about anyone. I went in for a physical and I wont be back. This is the first google review Ive ever written, which might give you an indication of the extremely poor patient care that I received from Denver Family Medicine. I went into the office in early November 2018 for an annual physical and blood work. I went in on a Thursday and was told that the results would take up to a week. The tech who completed my blood work did not know what she was doing and dug around in my arm for awhile and ultimately had to find a different vein to use (by the way, no other tech has ever had any issues finding a vein on me). I called the following Wednesday to inquire about the lab results during which the receptionist informed me that they had already gotten them in (apparently no one was going to bother to call me to tell me my results) and upon my prompting she told me that someone would call me to explain my results. I received a call about 15 minutes later (clearly the receptionist prompted someone to call me) and the woman I spoke to merely explained ONE of my results (I had two abnormal results but she failed to mention the other one to me). She told me the doctor recommended that I come in for follow-up blood work. I scheduled that appointment. Later, when I reviewed my results, I noticed the other abnormal result that she failed to mention, so I called back. I was told I would receive a return call, but didnt receive one for 48 hours after that call. The woman who returned my call was neither able to answer any of my follow-up questions nor did she offer to relay my questions to the doctor and call me back.During my follow-up appointment for blood work, I had an even worse experience. The tech was going to attempt to use the same vein that the other tech was unsuccessful in trying, so I mentioned that to her before she started. So she used a different vein. However, she similarly had no idea what she was doing. She pricked me and blood went everywhere - on the table, on my sweater, on her gloves. No apology, just a oh, this is a juicy one. No recognition that this splaying of blood is NOT normal during a routine blood draw. Her offer to assist me in cleaning myself up after the fact was futile - she simply offered me a wet paper towel and alcohol wipe which did nothing to clean up the mess she made. I have no issues with needles or blood but I was feeling a bit nauseous after that experience. Then, I had to go to work and clean myself up in the office bathroom. Three days later and I have the largest bruise on that vein.I called today (Friday) since I had received no word about my lab results. Again, the receptionist told me that they were in (they came in two days prior), and asked me if I wanted someone to call me to explain the results (HELLO, yes - why would I get lab work done and NOT want to know the results?). I told her yes, and that I wanted them uploaded to the patient portal - which apparently is not automatically done unless you specifically call and ask? After reviewing them on the patient portal, I again had an abnormal result I was concerned about. I called back and insisted that I speak to someone today - its very frustrating when you are concerned about your results and no one calls to explain them to you. When I told the receptionist this, she informed me that the doctors were out of the office and were not going to return today (at 2:45 p.m.). I told her that I would like to speak to someone today and she said well see if I can find you someone to speak to later on today (at which point I reminded her that they were closing in 2 hours). It is 4:50 p.m. right now and I have received no phone call from anyone at Denver Family Medicine. I suspect I will not receive a call from anyone today and who knows if they will even follow-up on Monday. I am extremely upset at the poor patient care I received and will not be returning to Denver Family Medicine in the future.UPDATE: Monday, 11/19Still have not received a follow-up phone call with my results.

I have been going here for a few years now, but I am finally going to another Doctor’s office. This office is unable to make appointments on time. They request you show 10-15 min early like most places, and then you wait well past your appointment time. 4 weeks ago I made an appointment for 10:40 am and it was not till 11:15 till the doctor finally got in to see me. Then last week my appointment again was at 10:40am and at 11:05 I was still sitting in the front room. I asked how much longer and they said they did not know. Great, I asked they go find out because like them I work also and I allocated 1 hour for this, and last I got called back and sat another 35 minutes. The lady was at least nice and went to check how much longer and it was going to be at least 15 minutes before I get called back and hopefully not too long once I get to a room. So I left because I could not wait that long. They unorganized, just expect to wait up to an hour after your appointment time, maybe this is the new health care, but it is not hard to organize appointments. Figure it out, but I am out of here. I would like to charge them $50 for wasting my.

I said I just can’t pay, that’s why I’m calling. She then let me know that all self-pay was due before services. I understand policies, really really well. Had a lot of lessons about policy. This was hands down the worst doctors appointment i have ever had. i met with their nurse practitioner and she was in the room with me for under 6 mins for my yearly physical. i had been in once before a few weeks prior for bronchitis. she wouldnt continue to offer any additional treatment for my bronchitis even though im still expelling mucus, coughing until i vomit, cant sleep through the night and have a history of bronchitis turning into something worse to the point where i cant breath. her demeanor was cold, she disregarded any comments i made about wanting to switch current medications i was on, didnt talk about family history, didnt ask about anything mental health related and did the bare minimum of physical assessment of me. when asked if i wanted to do blood work (which i did) but when i asked if it was included, she told me that it would cost an undetermined amount of money even though i called my insurance after and was informed all the basics blood tests would have been covered. i was also supposed to be given referral paper work for a specialist when i left and was never given that and was told someone would call me. and the worst part of it all was the only treatment i did receive, a tetanus shot, the nurse dripped most of the shot down my arm from pulling the needle out too quickly. at first i was impressed with how fast they were able to get me into the office and into the appointment but now afterwards i understand its only because they spend zero time with their actual patients. after the appointment i immediately called my insurance company to contest this being my one yearly physical due to how unsatisfied i was with the level of care i received. i wouldnt recommend this practice to anyone.

When she asked what insurance I had and I informed her I was paying out of pocket, she said to me, well Im confused cause Dr Keller only takes patients with private insurance, how are you a patient of his. Very snotty! Her comment made me feel very uncomfortable and I should have hung up then. I told her I wasnt a patient and that his office recommended them. She then asked me what my visit was for and we discussed everything and then I said I might just need a all around physical. She came back at me with well are physicals run anywhere from $150-$300 and we require payment up front at the end of your visit. Okay great, Im used to paying out of pocket so I get that. After scheduling the appointment she again reminds me of upfront payment due at services. Okay got it! I asked her if they excepted checks and she said no you would have to pay cash or credit cards. I told her I dont have credit cards but I do have a debit card. Her remark, if it will go through that day, we will except it. Rude! This is why I have not found a primary care physician since I have lived here and stuck with them. I have a hard time trusting Drs, I have been burnt in the past and not treated very well based off me not having insurance. Well heres the thing Bobbie, I may have no insurance, but I choose to pay out of pocket cause insurance is a joke! I have always been a hard worker. I work 2 jobs and save all my money. I have money to spend on my health care but thanks to your cold, uncaring tone and lack of concern of why I was actually calling in the first place, I will keep looking. Are there any Drs out there who dont just care about the money and who actually care about the person who is using their services?? And you wonder why I dont carry insurance. If there is, please let me know. What is wrong with peoples priorities these days! Healthcare and insurance companies dont care about us, all about the money. Very disturbing and sadMegan

I probably should have read reviews before I came here in the first place. My primary doctor seldomly has questions for me, but always has an opinion on what is right or wrong for my health.Advice: listen to your patients. Ask leading questions. Let your patients self-advocate and work with them as partners of their careOr, keep being one of the lowest rated offices in Denver.

The doctors and staff are awesome and have good bedside manner. I would highly recommend this place for someone looking for a general practitioner.

Ive been going to Dr. Draeb for over 20 years because she listens and talks to you, not down to you. I appreciate you, doctor!

I switched health insurance providers and Denver Family Medicine was in my network and nearby, so I scheduled an appointment to go over my asthma treatment. I spoke with Dr. Schiavoni, and he prescribed me some new medication. The next day, I noticed I was having side effects from my medication (which I had to look up online, they werent mentioned during my visit). I called the office to request a change to a long term steroid inhaler, which is pretty typical treatment, and one I had also discussed with the doctor. I was told he wasnt in, but they would leave a message for him.5 days later I had not received any word from the Denver Family Medicine, and my pharmacy said no new prescriptions had been called in for me. I called back to inquire about the message left for Dr. Schiavoni, and I was told he hadnt gotten to his inbox over lunch. I mean, how many lunches does the man need to read his inbox?? Meanwhile, my asthma is not being treated...I got a call the next day saying he had called in my prescription - for the wrong medication, one I already had been prescribed!! At this point I let my husband take over dealing with the incompetent staff, who asked what medication I DID need - apparently the doctor had no record of discussing a steroid inhaler with me. My prescription was finally corrected a week after my initial request. Then a got a nice bill that apparently my insurance wont even cover part of. Awesome.

Do NOT make an appt. with Michelle Draeb. She is extremely condescending, unprofessional, horrible bedside manner and does not listen. She tried to get in and out asap w/o listening to my concerns. I had to speak to the office manager, who was very nice, but just apologized for her.

Just moved to Denver was looking for a primary care physician, arrived for my appointment and was put in a waiting room for a hour and a half past my appointment time, I actually left the room to find the doctor to figure out what was going on, the doctor was timid and didnt seem comfortable in his own skin. Will be finding a new primary care doctor.

1. Prescriptions: Trying to get your prescriptions refilled is a nightmare. If you are someone who has long-term medication needs. I would suggest finding a more efficient practice.2. Front Desk/Scheduling: I personally never had a bad experience with the front desk assistants. They were always friendly when I interacted with them by phone or if I was in for an appointment.3. Physician: I can only speak to my experience with the physician Ive seen, which was Dr. Draeb. The other physicians in the practice may be less difficult to work with. However, I imagine (only my opinion) when a group of physicians work within the same practice they may tend to be like-minded. However, I work in healthcare and have seen physicians in the same unit approach a problem differently. As to the nail in the coffin...it recently came when instead of actually calling me to communicate, she left a message with my pharmacy, relaying that this is the last refill. Thankfully I have a really wonderful pharmacist who knows my face by now, and handled the situation that he was put in in a very professional way, unlike the doctor. Of course I have not been miraculously cured of my medical condition nor relieved of the effects of it.I will sum up my experience with Dr. Draeb as being treated in a passive aggressive manner by a physician who just seemed annoyed by my particular needs. Its always anxiety inducing moving to a new place, but especially when you have a chronic condition and have to establish care with a new physician. I do not recommend Dr. Draeb to anyone with a long established chronic condition who also after years of trying various things, has an established medication regimen that youve found to maintain some quality of life. If she disagrees with it, then she essentially just makes comments about whatever particular medication she doesnt agree with and suggests something else she is more comfortable with, even after youve already told her that youve tried it and it was not beneficial in your case. You arent going to be able to be much of a participant in how you live with your illness under the care of Dr. Draeb. My medical condition already causes me to want to go play in traffic some days, but my experience with her certainly took that desire to a whole new level.**Response to office manager 10/1/18: The only way I can see to respond is to Edit Review...When you live with a chronic condition for over 9 years youre well aware of the time frames of when to check-in with your doctor for refills related to specific medications that youve been taking for a long time. I had seen Dr. Draeb within the appropriate time frame. She did not want to prescribe this particular medication regardless of its efficacy towards this patients quality of life for many years. But yes, by all means please continue to reinforce better communication within the practice.

I needed an appointment yesterday on short notice and was able to get in here. I went in and was taken back pretty quickly after filling out some paperwork. The nurse brought me into the room, asked me some questions, and I told him I think I have mono, since I have had a fever for 2 weeks with literally all the symptoms. Mono seemed to be the answer that made sense. However, I was told (by the nurse) I dont think you have Mono, we are going to do a strep test, which came back negative. Finally the doctor came in and immediately ordered a mono test. Sure enough, the test was positive. Up to this point, there were no real problems, but this is where things went downhill fast. I was prescribed Prednisone and Lidocaine. The Lidocaine helped a little, but it made my whole mouth numb and not really my throat. The Prednisone kept me up all night, which with a 103 fever and Mono is a bad experience. At this point, I called the office as soon as they opened at 8am. I explained my situation and that I was in yesterday, had been up all night, and I wanted to try a different medication. There is no cure for Mono, but there are multiple ways to treat the symptoms. I also expressed to them urgency and that I was very uncomfortable, so i hoped they could get back to me soon. The person I spoke with took the information and assured the doctor would be in touch with me. At 1pm, I had still not heard back and called the office. I told the person on the phone that I was following up, and was promptly and rudely told we have 24-48 hours to get back to you. Excuse me? Im completely miserable, have a 103 fever, my throat is on fire, but you have 24 to 48 hours to get back to me?I was finally able to get a nurse on the phone to ask her my questions. I wanted to explore the possibility of getting Tylenol with Codeine, as I knew this would help my fever and sore throat, and thus help me sleep. I was then told by the nurse that that doctor doesnt normally prescribe those drugs, but that he would talk to the doctor and get back to me. The way he said it made it sound like I had asked for Heroin. Its almost 3pm and I still havent heard back, and am in terrible pain.Being sick and working with a doctors office that operates like is a helpless feeling. I am beyond frustrated, will never go back to this doctors office, and would recommend that anyone think twice before going here.

After being a patient there for about 10 years I called in today to schedule a physical and I have a possible torn calf muscle. The receptionist said that they were booked out for three to four weeks for physicals, when I said that I also had a torn calf muscle and I would like to combine the two visits, she laughed and said; We dont do that, but good try. What kind of doctors office has a receptionist laugh at your pain in trying to schedule an appointment to see your doctor? I guess it is time to look for a new doctor.

Very poor experience. Billing is inaccurate and they seek to charge you for as much as possible. Went in for a physical, asked a question about some pain I was having, and left with $150 bill and no answer as to what it was. All the doctor did was listen to my heart with a stethoscope...which he had already done once!Appointment process and receptionists are also very rude. Almost to the point of being combative.

I got a recommendation to switch to this practice. My first phone call was placed on hold for 10 minutes, only to be told rudely there is only one appointment for the rest of the year for a physical at 1:00 PM take it or leave it. Its OCT 10TH!!!! Holy cow, how can you say you accept new patients when your so busy to answer the phone or have an appointment available for two plus months.
