Danielle is a wonderful hygienist but also such a lovely person. Every time I get a cleaning, she answers my questions and provides recommendations in a supportive and nonjudgmental way. As a result of seeing her and Dr. Spaulding over the past several years, I have made changes to improve my oral health. My most recent cleaning really impressed upon me how patient, efficient, and thorough Danielle is in her work. It went by quickly but I left feeling as though I had a brand new smile! Dr. Spaulding has an excellent team overall (Vanieca, Kevin...) that works together to provide a positive experience and great patient care.

Dr. Spaulding and her staff take EXTRA precaution to protect themselves and their patients during the pandemic. Youre required to sanitize, wear a mask and shoe covers before being seated in the exam chair. All tools are sterilized and the staff is fully covered. Youre fully taken care of during your visit, the office is definitely germ free. I highly recommend Dr. Spaulding, youre in good hands.

This is one of the best dentist office I’ve ever been to. I have severe anxiety when it comes to dental work. Dr. Spalding and her assistant Kevin were amazing. I will definitely go back for continued dental care.

Dr. Spaulding and Family were fantastic! I really appreciated the fact that Dr. Spaulding and her hygienist Danielle didnt just rush me through like other practices that I have been to in the past. They were very thorough and took the time to really clean my teeth and then explain to me what may or may not need to be fixed and what I could do to prevent possible future areas of concern. Overall, everyone was very friendly and it was a great experience. Needless to say, I have found my new Dentist!

Dr. Spaulding is excellent. She really knows and has patient for what she does. She is consistently learning the latest in technology and skill that help make your experience more comfortable from being able to do same day in-office crowns and detailed imagery which as they patient you can see and understand. Her employees are all knowledgeable, attentive and caring. The office is well located and very calming inside. Highly recommend.

Amazing dentist...having 25 years experience at CDC and as many years as a clinical psychotherapist I was concerned about what going to the dentist during the pandemic might be like. Dr Spaulding has implemented the best protocols available. I felt safe and cared for in a way the addressed my entire person. I would recommend her to anyone...especially during Covid!

This office is extremely well-run. Any time I have an appointment, I rarely wait more than 10 minutes to get brought back after I arrive. I’m always greeted warmly and the staff genuinely care about my comfort and well-being throughout the entire visit. They have state-of-the-art equipment and their efficiency while you’re in the chair is something that every medical/dental office should observe and take notes. What an awesome experience with Dr Spaulding and her staff. From the moment you walk into the beautifully decorated offices you are transported to a serine atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed and removes any anxiety that you may have toward dentists. My hygienist, Stephanie, has made her cubicle a welcoming nook that you can feel comfortable in while she does an excellent job of cleaning your teeth. Dr Spaulding comes in and follows through with a professional and pleasant assessment of your individual situation. Couldn’t recommend them more highly.

I love Dr. Spaulding and her staff! She is very thorough and knowledgeable, and I particularly appreciate her focus on prevention. Ive had trouble with my gums, and she and her staff (especially Danielle) have been amazing at maintaining my gum health. They also try low cost options first, and Ive had success with prescription rinses verses more costly treatment measures. Im also a grinder, and rather than pay for a fancy and expensive night guard, they simply inspect my over the counter guards to make sure theyre still effective (and if theyre not, they tell me to get get another OTC guard. Because saving money is important!). Everyone is friendly and courteous, with genuine concern for my dental health. In the years Ive been going here, only once have I needed an emergency appointment. They squeezed me in the next day, treated my tooth to their best capability, and referred to me an absolutely fantastic endodontist for my root canal. I highly recommend this practice!

Great office and staff. Danielle, my hygienist helped me change up my home care routine and I can already see a difference. She was great at taking the time to explain things to me. Dr. Spaulding was kind, thorough and knowledgeable in preparing the steps to get my teeth back to where they should be. Nice to have finally found a place that seems to really care about their patients. My old office made me feel like I was just a number. Couldn’t be happier that I made the switch to Dr. Spaulding.

Today I had the pleasure of going to my dentists office and was extremely impressed with the care they took to keep their clients safe. First they met me at the car to take my temp and review any signs of covid. Then I was walked in with my mask and at the front door put surgical booties on my shoes, used hand sanitizer and then was cleared to be escorted to my dental room. The staff have earpieces to make sure two clients are not in the hallway at the same time. All staff had PPE from head to toe. Once my cleaning was done, I was again escorted through the one way halls to the reception desk, after checking to make sure no other clients were in the hallways. Thank you Dr. Spaulding for the many precautions to keep me safe.

All these bad reviews are so so true! Don’t waste your time here. I went here yesterday with my first appointment for Dr Spaulding. I arrived 15min early and the receptionist asked me why I was so early. When I responded that I was a new patient and I expected paperwork to take some time she said that they factored that into my appointment time. They take me to a room to complete the paperwork which I do in no time and then the wait begins. I finally meet with Dr Spaulding she seems very nice and then she takes me back to meet the hygienist. She does x rays (which were painful, never had that experience before), pictures, and a gum exam. The gum exam takes forever and she proceeds to tell me I need deep cleanings in two areas, she shows me the potential out of pocket cost bc insurance may or may not cover it. She then grabs Dr Spaulding who redoes the gum exam which takes forever and then she leaves. Danielle then tells me that they don’t have time to do my regular cleaning and I will need to come back not only once, but 3 times. Once for a cleaning, again to repair a filling, and again for follow up. I am 29 years old. I have had no major dental work, one filling in my entire life, and no issues with my teeth walking into this appointment. I spent over two hours here and left without any sort of cleaning. I went ahead and booked my next appointment, but after reading these reviews of other people experiencing the exact same thing.... something doesn’t seem right. I think they’re just trying to rack up their billing abilities with all these additional visits. I also think they are trying to sell u on unnecessary work that won’t be covered by insurance. Don’t go here.

When I first came to her office I was nervous and anxious as I was ashamed of my teeth and overall dentition. I had went to another dentist for an extraction a month before and it was an awful experience, so I was scared. Dr. Spaulding and her amazing staff put me at ease, and came up with the best treatment plan to give me the best, healthy smile! You’re in great hands with caring people that only want what’s best for you.

Dr. Spaulding and her staff were very welcoming, kind, and on time. The office was beautifully decorated and very clean. Dr. Spauldings demeanor made me feel at ease, and I appreciated her taking the time to discuss what she needed to do beforehand. I needed a filling, and she did a great job, no issues, no pain!

I dont know about you, but I have always hated going to the dentist. That was until I met Dr. Spaulding. She has a way of making you feel at ease immediately and talking thru any concerns you may have. I no longer make up excuses to postpone my dentist appointments. Such a great staff. Dr. Albritton greets you with a warm disposition and takes the time to carefully explain good preventive techniques to use in between visits. My dental hygienist Ryan made my teeth feel very clean while being gentle while flossing( Ive gone to other places that were brutal.). Also Bennie my dental assistant was kind and conversational. Great experience.

I have been a patient for many years and have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Spaulding and her hygienists and assistants, including Danielle and Kevin. They are all very skilled and competent and also very communicative and kind. They have helped me with both routine and complicated dental procedures and they always take the time necessary to do the job well. I cant recommend them highly enough.

I too am extremely disappointed with this dental office. I went in for a teeth cleaning but after spending two hours doing paper work 18 X-rays and a very uncomfortable gum scan, the cleaning finally started. The gum scan by the way is a process that isnt optional that measures the distance your gums are from your teeth by inserting a probe between your gums and teeth, every tooth, front and back. The cleaning was almost over when Dr. Spaulding interrupted and began examining my teeth. She made several remarks about my gums bleeding- which started during the cleaning process when they spray brine- basically micro abrasives like a sand blaster to remove stains from your teeth and along your gum line. Dr. Spaulding decides to start redoing the gum scan from the start. Really? Dr. Spaulding begins altering the hygienists measurements in the computer and now the 4 mm are 5s and the 3 mms are 4s and now shes adding little red icons over the teeth that where the gums were bleeding. I fail the gum test and am now in need of the deep clean. The deep clean requires cleaning so far below the gum line that local anesthetic is required. A process that happens to cost more than twice as much as the normal cleaning. A process that may or may not be covered by my insurance but, as noted in a previous review, is not optional. They will not treat you unless you undergo this expensive procedure that isnt even covered by insurance? Wow. I was upfront when I arrived that just wanted a normal cleaning and that I had lost a filling and need to get that replaced. The filling was never mentioned again. All they seemed to focus on was scheduling the deep cleaning which was going to require two separate appointments after the one hour consult with Dr. Spaulding for her to explain why I need the deep cleaning that isnt optional anyway. In all honesty, it just felt like a lot of smoke and mirrors to make money off new patients who dont know any better. The best thing about the experience was the hygienist who seemed genuine and wasnt even recommending the deep clean to being with. I notice all the good reviews are from several years ago and that the negative ones are all within the last year. I wonder if this bait and switch process involving the deep clean mandatory option is a policy that has come about within the last year?

Dr. Spaulding is the best dentist I have ever had. Dr. Spaulding is a perfectionist when it comes to caring for your teeth uses the most up-to-date technology in her office. You will always feel that you are visiting a top notch dentist. Missy the hygienist is fantastic with a very gentle technique and genuinely cares for her patients. Also, the office is EXTREMELY clean and very nicely decorated.

The team was great start to finish! The staff is really friendly and Dr. Spaulding is very professional. The examination was very thorough and they gave me great instructions on how to care for my teeth between visits. The office is conveniently located, has a beautiful atmosphere and seemed really neat & organized. I would highly recommend Dr. Jocelyn Spaulding to everyone I know.

The entire practice is committed to a pleasant experience and quality dentistry, and they deliver. Despite not going to the dentist for over three years, they were able to erase a lot of neglect in a single visit. I had my first visit today for a cleaning, x-rays and exam. Danielle, the hygienist, was great and very gentle and efficient. I have had a ton of dental work in the past. Dr. Spaulding spent a good amount of time with me and discussed with the potential issues she saw from former dental work and implants. She is very professional and has a very gentle and kind demeanor.

I came into the office for a cleaning. I have not been to the Dentist in a long time and was nervous about the visit and the outcome. The staff and Dr Spaulding made me feel very relaxed and at ease with the appointment . I really appreciate the kindness and i will defiantly be back for future visits.

SHE IS AMAZING! I am terrified of the dentist, always have been. Dr. Spaulding has this air about her that is very calming. I have gone in multiple times and every time her staff is very nice, efficient, and understanding. Dr. Spaulding not only addressed my fears, she got into the nitty gritty of it and ultimately has made me less scared! She is the best dentist I have ever had.

Debated writing this for a while. This is one of those classic dont judge a book by its cover moments. The place is attractive, well-appointed. Everyone acts kind. Dr. Spaulding comes across like she cares, but it all boils down to money and what she can bill insurance. At the end of the day, they did sub-par work on my crown and refused to work with me in fixing or replacing it. I went back multiple times to file it, alter, etc and nothing seemed to impact the discomfort. The crown just wasnt a great fit. I had to get in the habit of carrying floss around for after meals and large chunks caused pain. After getting a second opinion- yes, the crown just was not cast right- I went back to discuss. Dr. Spaulding essentially dismissed my pain and recommended a water pic. Avoid this place like the plague. As a business person, it is clear her focus is on recovering the cost of the building renovation or lease as opposed to providing the best care for patients.

This review comes from a person that grew up fearing dentists. Dr. Spaulding and her team are great. Their attention to detail is wonderful and they find issues before they become problems. Everyone in my family uses and love the office. My three young children will not grow up afraid of dentists!

I am extremely disappointed with this dental office. I went in for a teeth cleaning which I was upfront about. After spending an hour and fifteen minutes doing X-rays and paper work including a gum scan (which I did ask for) I was told that I needed a deep cleaning to treat a mild gum infection in the front of my lower jaw. Of course this cost almost twice as much as the dental cleaning I requested. I told them I just wanted to do the teeth cleaning today and then I was told they would not do it. That my only choice was to do the deep cleaning. The dental tech was really unpleasant about it and the doctor that was in (not Spaulding but someone covering for her) was in my opinion overly dramatic saying I could end up loosing my teeth. Let me add that I have very healthy teeth in general only having 2 cavities in my life time and I am almost 40. I do not recommend this dental practice and certainly dont think a company like this will last in Decatur where we have such great other options.

I approached Dr. Spaulding because I needed a new retainer. I came in expecting to just receive the same retainer as my old one, but she asked me about my concerns and gave me immediate solutions. She was able to get me a hawley retainer that fit me way better than my old one. My old one would keep falling off after 15 minutes of wear. This new retainer is a perfect fit and continues to stay in my mouth overnight.

The good reviews lead me to believe that she must have changed drastically. I saw her about 10 years at the previous location on Clairmont. The atmosphere was unpleasant in that even the staff didnt like her. She was harried and rushed and literally ran between patients chairs. After 3 visits I knew I had made a mistake. Soon after, the work that she had done for me had to be re-done by someone willing to spend more time. Part of the problem might have been that her fees were discounted by my dental insurance plan. I blame only myself for not heeding the warnings that quality comes with a higher price and you get what you pay for.

I love my dentist! Ive been a patient of Dr. Spauldings for many years and have always gotten excellent care from her. She and her entire staff are the epitome of professionalism, kindness and patience. They listen to my concerns and are very good about explaining procedures ahead of time. I have a real fear of dental pain and Dr. Spaulding always takes extra care to make sure Im doing ok. Also of importance, this dental office is spotless clean!

Dr. Spaulding and her team are so wonderful to work with. They are always compassionate about any issues youre having and are meticulous in taking care of your teeth. I have problematic enamel issues due to fluorosis, so Ive had to have a good bit of dental work done, and theyve always made the experience as easy and comfortable as possible. Ive had to schedule an urgent visit which ended up resulting in a referral to an endodontist for a root canal, and they accommodated me right away and followed up on my visit with the endodontist later that day. I cant recommend having Dr. Spaulding and her team for your dental care enough!

Office management has difficulty with keeping their schedule or new patient intake.I called in to book an appointment as a new patient. After finding out they were accepting new patients, I gave all of the needed information. The receptionist claimed to have a spot available in the afternoon a week later. Yes, apparently this was too good to be true.However, after leaving work early to get to this appointment on time I soon discovered that I was not in the book for today— nor they accepting new patients. After prominently telling me she was the only receptionist, her excuse then was two other girls help at the front desk, so it must have been one of them.Great job guys, seems like you have it together.

My wife and I were clients of this office for ~1 year. Through out that period we had numerous difficulties scheduling, pricing and insurance billing (on Met-life).We are finally switching after 1) price increases without notification ($187 for routine check-up) and 2) we received a bill stating we, personally were 90-days over due, when in reality they did not handle the insurance billing properly. Not exactly fun receiving a letter on Friday afternoon stating youre $300+ in the hole for services rendered over 3-months ago when you already paid your deductible and co-pay!Our life is complicated enough to have to deal with an unprofessional dental office.

Ive had a mixed experience with this practice. TLDR: Shes great for routine maintenance, but anything that is beyond routine maintenance she and her staff arent really competent.THE GOOD:• Dental hygienists are very thorough, friendly, and knowledgable.• I got some great advice for dental hygiene (using different rinses, etc.)• Cleanings are surprisingly genlte and thorough.THE BAD:• I repeatedly asked Dr. Spaulding to call me. She never got the messages. Her staff was somehow unable to relay the request. Multiple times. Over the course of two years.• I asked Dr. Spaulding specific questions about a smile makeover in writing and in person. She would forget my questions. She wasted my time on multiple occasions because she was unable to read a memo with questions that were in writing.• Because Dr. Spaulding didnt answer my questions in a timely manner, I lost the opportunity to have insurance cover some of my procedures.

Dr. Spalding and staff have been wonderful. I have had many dentists over the years while moving with the military. Because of two different health issues it is essential that I maintain the highest level of dental care. Dr. Spalding has not only helped me maintain the highest level, she has also worked with my other doctors to promote my health wholistically. I am profoundly grateful to call her my dentist.

She was in our network and had mostly good reviews. I had bad gut feeling from the start. She put 2 crowns on a couple of molars about 2 years ago. My new dentist in Athens just had to re-do one of them, already. Not cheap, not fun and I am not happy!
