I had my Lasik procedure from Dr. Akler in January of 2018. I went from 20/80 to 20/15. I was 28 at the time. This is one of the most impactful moments from my life, and I did pay for it, but in this case you get what you pay for rings very true. I am very thankful to Dr. Akler and her staff for making this procedure so seamless for myself. No more contacts sitting poorly in my eyes causing blurred vision while driving or smashed glasses while laying on the couch trying to watch TV all while falling asleep. No future children ripping glasses off my face No matter how fun that can be. It has been truly amazing to see the world through the lens of my own eyes and not those of glasses and contacts.

I recently had a cataract removed that had caused my eyesight to more than quadruple the needed correction lens to be able to see out of the that particular eye over the past 2 years. What a relief to have the procedure and then be able to see better than I use to. It was amazing and Dr. Akler did an outstanding job in making it happen. Her staff was courteous and completely thorough in helping me make my decision on which procedure to have as well as which replacement lens to reinsert. They also discovered I have a cataract forming in my other eye, that while not being a true detriment to my site, it will eventually. Now after having the one eye done, I can see the difference and will have it removed as soon as possible. I would recommend to anyone to have the laser cut first because it makes the healing so much easier. Worth the extra money to have it done.

While visiting from out of town, I developed an eye issue and needed to have it looked at. At 8:00a.m. I called Akler Eye Center and described the situation. I was offered an appointment at 9:30 the same morning. Dr. Akler was able to diagnose the condition and get a prescription written.I must say: the receptionist who took my phone call was VERY professional and EXTREMELY courteous.I give Akler five stars. Highly recommended.

Dr. Akler and her team are the absolute BEST of the best! My mother had her LASIK procedure done here 20 years ago, and she STILL has exceptional vision. My sister followed and she, too, swore by Dr. Akler’s practice. My vision was incredibly poor, and I was so desperate to stop wearing uncomfortable contact lenses or glasses that never seemed to fit my face. I had my consultation with Dr. Akler and, within a month, was scheduled for my procedure. Dr. Akler and her staff were extremely friendly and professional, and they made the entire process much more comfortable than I could’ve imagined. I was so anxious at first - the thought of something potentially going wrong or worsening my vision was terrifying. However, Dr. Akler took the time to explain the highly advanced technology behind the laser machine, and reassured me that there was virtually no way for me to screw up the procedure while on the table. After care was very easy as well. I had initially done my consultation at Akler Eye and one other place. The other place was cheaper because they had a promotion running at the time but after my consultation at Akler Eye, I was willing to forgo the promotional price and pay extra for the care of my eyes. The experience starts with the LASIK coordinator, Barbara. Barbara set up my appointment, sent me my pre visit forms, and even conducted the testing for my eyes. She was extremely knowledgeable, thorough, really nice and very responsive to phone and email communications. I saw Dr. Akler after Barbara ran my tests. Unlike the other consultation I went to where the doctor just glanced at my information and said I was good to go to LASIK, Dr. Akler took the time to go through my information before recommending anything to me. She explained the process and put to ease any concerns that I had while still being fully transparent about the risks associated with LASIK. The transparency and abundance of information provided to me (I’ll be honest, it was the folder that they gave me that really sold me) is what made me decide to get my LASIK done at Akler eye. The day of the surgery, I was very nervous. Dr. Akler is the nicest lady ever because she called in another nice lady named Sharon to hold my hand during the procedure. The surgery itself sucked because I was so scared but Dr. Akler was doing a great job trying to keep me calm. Post surgery, I had some complications with one of my eyes- it was burning and teary. Dr. Akler drove into the office on her day off just to check my eyes. Akler eye goes above and beyond for their patients. I highly recommend them. Also the eye issue was solved: Dr Akler recommended a different type of drop because my eye was very dry.

I decided to go to Dr. Akler for LASIK consultation after reading several great reviews. Upon arriving for my visit her staff and everyone were phenomenal, very friendly, very easy going and made me very relaxed and feel right at home. From the pre-surgery consultation to the actual procedure itself everything went extremely well. I am very pleased with the outcome and havent had any issues whatsoever post surgery. I’ll admit I was quite nervous going into the procedure. I had met with several Doctors and chose Dr. Akler to complete my procedure. I was a little thrown off to find out that the procedure takes place in Fraser and not Dearborn but that information was provided well before I made my decision to choose Dr.Akler. The day of the surgery I arrived early at the eye center in Fraser. The reception staff was very friendly and accommodating. The waiting area is plenty big enough to provide proper area for social distancing and everyone seemed to comply. Once I was brought back to prepare for the surgery I was placed into a comfortable recliner and given a mild sedative to help ease the nerves. I actually fell asleep until they came and got me to come into the surgery room. Once in the Room I noted that the room was a very comfortable temperature and Dr. Akler was ready and prepared. The surgery itself is basically what you would assume. Some slight discomfort during but Dr. Akler and her staff were encouraging and kept me very informed of everything that was going on. Before I knew it the procedure was complete. I was walked into an exam room and Dr. Akler came in, checked her work and once everything was confirmed good to go I was given all instructions and allowed to leave. I was able to walk out to the parking lot and get into the truck just fine. Then BOOM!!!!!! The pain hit me. The next 6 hours were the most painful hours of my life. Luckily my girlfriend was here to take care of me. She called back to the surgery center and they told her that Dr. Akler had already left, she explained that I was in excruciating pain. What happened next is what I believe truly sets Dr. Akler apart. She actually called my girlfriend from her personal cell phone and was able to call in a prescription to a local pharmacy to get me a pain medication and an Ambien. Once I took those I passed out and just as Dr. Akler predicted I woke with much less pain. The next day the discomfort was minimal, I have been religious with my eye drops and have been blown away by my new vision. I highly recommend Dr.Akler and her staff.

I had been contemplating lasik for a while but was nervous. I finally took the first step and went in for a consultation. Dr. Ankler and her staff did a thorough exam and determined I was a candidate. They answered all my questions and I left feeling very comfortable. She did my lasik surgery in February. I felt no pain, only had 1 day of down time. I had an overall pleasant experience and I would recommend her.

Barbara is extremely knowledgeable and kind. I had my procedure on 12/16/2020. I had a little discomfort afterwards. Went home and took a nap and when I woke up I could see perfectly. Dr. Akler performed my LASIK procedure and I couldnt be happier with the results! I am just over one month post-operation and virtually all of the initial side effects (night halos, eye dryness, light sensitivity) have already disappeared and my vision has been corrected to better than 20/20. She and her office staff communicated very well about what to expect before, during and after the procedure. I felt confident placing my eyesight into their hands and the results have confirmed that confidence was well-placed!

This place is great. The staff and doctor are very friendly. They definitely coached me throughout process and made me feel very comfortable with everything. The surgery location was unfortunately pretty far from the Dearborn office but that was a one-time trip. I had a 10am(?) surgery and felt relatively fine by 8pm. Went to work the next day with no issues. I’m seeing 20/15 after almost a year and highly recommend this place.PS - the post-op “pain” wasn’t what I expected; it felt like I had just chopped extremely fresh onions.

I definitely was a bit nervous the day of the surgery, but walking out of the surgery center and being able to clearly read license plates, I wish I had made this decision sooner. Dr. Alker and her staff are phenomenal - when I first went to their Dearborn office for a free LASIK consultation they answered all of my questions and sent me home with a folder containing all the relevant information I would need to prepare for the surgery. The surgery itself took less than five minutes and by the end of the day my vision was already better and continues to improve by the day. Due to my prescription and thickness of my cornea, Dr. Akler recommended that I do the mechanical/laser option (using a blade to create the flap vs a laser) instead of the all laser option - this saved me money and I appreciated Dr. Akler suggesting a more economical option as the results and healing time are comparable between the two methods. I would 100% recommend Dr. Akler if you are considering getting LASIK.

I went to Dr. Akler on the recommendation of a friend. I thought they were very efficient and friendly. Everyone I encountered on staff was really great. I needed an eye exam and a little laser surgery on one eye. I had a preliminary exam from a technician and she explained exactly what would happen when the doctor examine me and did the surgery. She also check to see exactly what would be covered by my insurance (which was everything) so I wouldnt have any unexpected surprises. When I saw Dr. Akler she was also very friendly and pleasant. She again explained exactly what would happen during the laser surgery, which I really appreciated. There were no surprises. It all went as planned - quick and easy. I have no hesitation in recommending the Akler Eye Center.

I highly recommend Akler Eye Center when it comes to any sort of eye treatment/procedures (that they offer). I personally had undertaken the Lasik treatment recently, performed by Dr. Akler and she was excellent to say the least. She made sure I what aware of exactly what to expect and ensured any questions I had were answered. She is very knowledgeable and confident in her field which is always a positive indicator, especially when it comes to medical treatments. During the actual procedure itself, she made it as comfortable is it could possibly be (playing music, speaking directly to you so you know what to expect, etc.) and this allowed me to calm my nerves and essentially just trust her to do what she does best. I could not have asked for better results. The supporting staff is very kind and supportive; they were able to answer any additional questions I had that I forgot to ask initially and were always available and willing to help whether it be in person or over the phone. This procedure, initially, was very nerve-wrecking and I felt extremely anxious not knowing what to expect, but by the end of my preliminary checkup, I felt confident that I had nothing to worry about.

I live in the metro Detroit area with my wife and little one on the way. Like most, my vision is very precious to me. I did consults with 3 different LASIK professionals in the area and decided to move forward with Dr. Akler.She graduated from the University of Toronto, where the procedure was first mastered. Her $$$ was less than the other two, and the individuals at the office were all extremely professional and answered all my questions (all 1,000 of them).If your thinking about it, go do it. I was very pleased with the entire process. The staff at the Dearborn office was pleasant and very professional, and Dr. Akler was fantastic. The procedure was a piece of cake and now I can see 20/15 (better than 2020). I scheduled my first evaluation appointment in October and had the surgery scheduled for Nov 7th, so they are FAST. The surgery was done in Fraser, MI at a very nice outpatient surgery center and I was only there about an hour total. The surgery seemed to take less than 10 minutes and there was very little discomfort. Within 24 hours, I could see 20/15. The total cost was less than I anticipated and there were zero hidden fees. I should have done it sooner.

I am over-the-moon happy with Dr. Akler. My surgery was on Monday and today is Wednesday so I may be a little early with my review, however, I am very, very happy. She is personable, polite, informative, and really, really knows her job. I would highly recommend her. Prior to making my appointment with her I saw a different doctor, I felt like I was meeting with a slick car salesman who kept trying to upgrade me to the more expensive procedure. I called Dr. Aklers office with some questions and her Clinical coordinator, Roxanna, returned my call and spoke to me without rushing me or cutting me off and answered all my questions. Nobody in this office rushes you and they all treat you like a human being not just a number.

Dr. Akler, and her staff, are very friendly and exquisitely professional. The measurements regarding my LASIK surgery were taken accurately and I can now see better than I have ever before. If I am ever in need of ophthalmic care in the future it will definitely be with the Akler eye care team.

I am incredibly happy about my experience with Dr. Akler and my laser eye surgery. All exams are free (including the initial exam) and the staff in her office were very helpful and knowledgable Dr. Akler was very thorough and took the time to walk me through all the benefits and potential complications (even when my risk was very low), as well as my own questions. It made me feel confident and secure in my decision. The surgery itself was quick and painless - and my vision is now better than 20/20! I truly wish I had done this years ago.

I had my Lasik done about 2 weeks ago and I highly recommend Dr. Akler. She helped make the entire experience less scary and made sure I was okay the entire time. She also had great people working for her, everyone in the office is friendly, kind and understanding. If you are considered Lasik I HIGHLY recommend Akler eye center.

In the beginning I was a coward to get my cataract surgery but Doctor Adler was kind and encouraging. That helped me to make a decision to go ahead with my left eye. Now I am glad that I make the right decision. As a result of this, I can see everything crystal clear and now my vision is 20/20. I am planning to get my other eye (right eye ) done soon. I strongly recommend Doctor Adler for any eye issue and especially for cataract surgery. She is great and kind.

My first visit with Dr. Akler was recently for a diabetic check of my eyes. The staff was very kind and accommodating. Dr. Akler talked to me in a way I could understand after her thorough exam. Wish i could give 10 stars.

Sped through the office visit without any real explanation. Doesn’t provide a sence of comfort to the patient (myself) and didn’t show any consideration at all. She’s simply all about the money!!!

Dr. Akler is a extremely respectful and caring physician. She will listen to what you have to say. I highly recommend her! From early childhood, I was diagnosed with severe myopia. Over 18 years of wearing glasses I couldnt stand it anymore. My eyes couldnt even tolerate contact lens after 6 years of wearing them. Ive tried every brand out there for astigmatism, along with trying different contact lens solutions. For about 4 months, I stopped wearing contacts due to severe irritation. I tried to give contacts another try, but after 4-6 hours of wearing them the irritation and discomfort came back. I got Lasik done back in June 2017, and 1.5 years later my vision stabilized to 20/15 in both eyes!

Akler Eye Center is a great place to go for eye care. The staff is polite, and knowledgeable. Dr. Akler genuinely cares about you, and your eye care needs.

I had strong astigmatism ( -3 and -3.5 ) with myopia. I wasnt able to wear contacts, ever. Now Im glasses free :) I am thrilled. I am beyond happy.If people say that Dr. Akler is the best, it is because she REALLY IS THE BEST.Great professional staff.Best decision ever made.

I was very impressed by Dr. Akler and the Akler Eye Center. Dr. Akler and her team were caring and efficient and I was shocked at how quickly I recovered. I could see 20/20 at the next day post-op appointment and the price was phenomenal. Couldnt be happier!

After doing my research on doctors that perform lasik I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Akler. I am so happy with my decision! Dr. Akler and her assistant Barbara answered all my questions and did not rush through my office visit. I had my surgery a week ago. I woke up the day after and could see like I was wearing contacts!I highly recommend Dr. Akler! I have been telling all my friends that wear contacts or glasses to make an appointment, you will be happy you did!

I had Dr. Akler perform LASIK on both my eyes and it was the best decision I have ever made! She talked with me about all the risk factors and allowed me to make an educated decision. Before going to Dr. Akler I was concerned as to why her price was so low but I can assure anyone going there that the quality of care and the results I experienced were excellent! Fantastic eye center. They really are good to their patients. I really trust them. After cataract surgery, I see better than I ever have before.

Dr. Akler is very good at what she does. She is their for her patients. After care is what surprised me the most. When things do not seem right I was told to call. Dr. Akler was very patient and helpful. She and her staff will to work with you on receiving doctored notes if needed.

Front desk staff were welcoming and nice but I only reason I came here was because of the good reviews about Dr.Akler & getting lasik if you’re a person with astigmatism. The lady who did my eye exam told me that I shouldn’t get lasik surgery that it’ll only make it worse and to go somewhere else I was very bummed to hear that because I was really excited about not having to wear eye glasses anymore. I thought if so then maybe it shouldn’t be advertised on your website so I’ll be going somewhere else.

Dr Akler is very pleasant.explains what she is going to do step by step. I was unsure about surgery until she explained thing. Would suggest her to anyone.
