I have not been impressed with Dr. Margulis and his office. His nurse, Debbie, has not been informative and scared my mother about the reason she needed to see a radio oncologist before the surgery. My mother, who lives nearly 4 hours away, was told that she needed to see a radio oncologist at UT Southwestern by Debbie. When my mother asked why, Debbie said , “well, it’s your life.” When we saw the radio oncologist, the situation was adequately explained. During the surgery, the anesthesiologist reported that my mother lost only 200 cc’s of blood. Yet, she spent the next 2 and 1/2 days in the surgical ICU receiving units of whole blood. The doctors, including Margulis, could never explain why this was occurring. When she was discharged, she was told that PT and OT would provide services in her home. The hometown PT group says that they don’t have a referral. She called about her staple removal and was told that she or a family member cancelled it (which is not true). You cannot reach a nurse or nurse’s aide; instead, a message is left with the switchboard and May or may not be returned in a timely manner. I would suggest going to MD Anderson if you have kidney cancer and avoid this clown show. It has been nightmarish from the get-go dealing with these people.

Staff were friendly, Dr Margulis PA Brooke was nice and thoroughly explained my questions for my dad with recent diagnosis of prostate cancer. Dr Margulis seemed very confident and experienced and that gave me a piece of mind about possible da Vinci surgery as a treatment option. Now I see why MD Anderson Dr was recommending to have my dad go see Dr Margulis and other doctors at UT Southwestern.

Dr. Margulis and his staff set the bar high. He performed surgery on my husband in October 2020. We drive 2 hours to see him. We can do follow ups in our hometown but Dr. Margulis will answer our questions, takes time with my husband and his nurse, Debbie, was able to handle getting supplies ordered in an afternoon when we were getting the runaround. Every person we have spoken with in his office has been kind, professional and helpful.

Best dang urology surgeon on earth. I was told I had to have my bladder totally removed due to cancer. He said he believed he could save half of it. That was 5 years ago. No recurrence and no problems with my bladder. I LOVE this man....

Dr. Margulis and Dr. Antonelli saved my mother! She had recurring urothelial cancer after 10+ years, and the tumor was discovered at an early stage. Dr. Margulis is caring, and very thorough and thoughtful in his approach to treatment as he aimed to eradicate the cancer while at the same time preserving her quality of life. Instead of removing her only remaining kidney and ureter, he proposed a combination of strategies: remove the tumor and proceed with 6 rounds of localized chemo through a nephrostomy tube. He and the RN Debbie and their team has been amazing to work with! We highly recommend Dr. Margulis and thank the Lord for sending him our way.

I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Margulis!!! He did a great job by performing a partial kidney removal. Dr. Margulis listened to me and was able to answer all my questions that I had. I liked the idea that he could save my kidney instead of completely removing as some other surgeons recommended. I felt I am in good hands with this doctor, and he made me feel optimistic about my situation. My surgery went well with no issues. He is a wonderful and knowledgeable doctor who truly cares about his patients! I highly recommend this doctor to people that have a similar problem! Also, I would like to thank his entire medical staff who took care of me at UT Southwestern. Thank you so much for all your great work!!!

Dr. Margulis, what can I say about the man? I had to have my bladder removed in November. Out of no where it hit myself and my wife and kids like a rock, muscle invasive bladder cancer that had spread to my prostate and urethra and i was only 52. I go back for my 6 month check up tomorrow, CT scan and chest X-ray. I believe Margulis saved my life but all he said to me was, so far, so good lol. He’s a likable guy, I sure as hell wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thanks Dr. I hope to shake your hand in five years when I’m considered cured and thank you proper.

Dr Margulis has really helped me with my bladder cancer. I couldn’t have asked for a better doctor. Being a retired police officer, I find it great to find a doctor to tell it to you straight. Don’t sugarcoat it, tell it like it is. If this is what you like, Dr Margulis is your man. Again, thank-you Dr Margulis for the care that you and your staff has provided to me.
