Pros: Doctor was friendly, took the time to go through eye exam and eye health with me. The optician was also very friendly and patient, and good with finding a suitable style.Cons: Ill echo what others have said- they did extra tests that werent covered by my insurance without telling me about it first. I was also told an appointment time 30 minutes before the doctor was available... These were pretty frustrating. YMMV

I have nothing but GREAT impressions of Optical Expressions. Although I have only had glass adjustments, they were very understanding and of course they didnt charge anything for my visit. I have been going to my optometrist for years in Florissant, but they have lost a lot of their customer service and expertise. I am going to become a customer here; it is convenient and the store is bright and their customer service is outstanding!

Be aware that they let you pay for fancy picture taken on your eyeballs without consenting first. They also do not ask patient if he/she needs a contact lens prescription and blame patient for that. Bad communication.

Saw Dr. Dowdy for eye exam and contacts, great experience! Very knowledgeable and personable. 10/10 would recommend. Excellent staff as well.

Wonderful place and great service.

I was disappointed. They were running 30 minutes late, I did not see the optometrist I was scheduled with although the doctor I saw was excellent. Tech who does the testing was not interested in being pleasant or explaining the purpose of the optional $20 tests.Good selection of frames although somewhat pricey. A week later I called, no glasses, called several times. Finally got my glasses after two weeks because I called them and the receptionist told me my glasses had been there for 2 days and no one had called me. Apparently the person I spoke to previously had not bothered to look. Good doctor, some irritating staff issues.

I had been bouncing around different places for years to get my eye exams done. I am glad to now have found Optical Expressions for the long term. Convenient location off Olive/270 and an easy process to get you in and out. I had my exam with Dr. Purvis and Tammy helped me select new eyeglasses. Everyone that I interacted there was pleasant, patient, and helpful. Definitely recommend!

Optical Expressions does a great job with everything they do. I recently went for my third pair of glasses from there and the new doctor was pleasant and professional and Lisa on the sales floor provided the same great service she always has. She is willing to explain the entire selection process and spend whatever time is needed to be sure the customer gets what they want. The Dr was nice but my glasses didnt work for me once I received them. The office staff didnt seem to understand what I needed and Im now wearing my readers instead of the eyewear that I purchased at Optical Expressions. I will be going back to Clarkson

Dr. Cullinane restored my confidence in optometry when I started going there several years ago. He is responsive to his patients needs and I think goes above and beyond. The staff are outstanding! Can go there anytime and they do everything they can to assist you. I am so grateful I found them.

Excellent Service!I ended up at Optical Expressions after several disappointing visits at local optical retail stores, for example, Visionworks and Lenscrafters. First, the store associates made me feel welcomed and comfortable to shop v assuming I did not come to spend some real money. If you love the upper eschelon options of your eyewear, hands down, this is the place to visit. Also, my glasses were available within a few days with the additional options. Second, the service was excellent and what I expected. Lastly, they work exceptionally hard to find you the right pair of frames which in my case took some creativity.

I just went here today for an eye exam and a pair of glasses. Very clean place and all the staff was extremely nice!

Update: had a phone call with the billing lady and the owner. They claimed that $89 and $19 should be charged because it’s a service that they provide and “do you expect to receive a service for free?”. However, it’s a service that was provided to the customers under the impressions of being part of the eye exam at no additional cost. They claimed that no where else would provide that service without additional charge. They eventually refunded the money. If you’d like to receive their service (which is excellent), please double check with them with any additional costs if they ever offer you anything. There are many places that will teach you how to put on contacts for free.THIS PLACE SCAMS YOUR MONEY!! Id say the experience with the doctor and staff was decent. But they have hidden charges! When I was getting my eye exam, they took some images for my eye (as it seems like to be part of the exam) but didnt tell that it was NOT covered and that was extra $19. Then, after telling them that itd be my first time wearing contacts, they offered that their staff would teach me how to put on contacts, but didnt mention anything about extra cost. This ended up costing an extra $89 but NO ONE mentioned anything about the cost and made patients think it was all covered within insurance!!! I ended have to pay an extra $108 because the no one (including the doctor and the staff) told me about the hidden fees! If you go to other clinics, they dont ever charge you for this!! They charge you without your consent! If you want to avoid hidden fees, you better off going to a different clinic.
