I went in to get new lenses put in my current frames with my new prescription, and possibly a new pair as well. I have vision insurance. First, the ocular photo they take costs an extra $40 thats not covered by insurance for some reason. I told them that was fine as I assumed that was going to be the only charge. I told the assistant and doctor several times I dont wear my contacts and only needed new lenses in my current frames. The doctor talked me in to trying a new brand of contacts. I agreed thinking that typically contact fittings cost around $50-80 (Americas Best does them for $80). When I got to the front counter, they said the new pair of the cheapest frames with lenses would cost $140. I decided against those. Getting new lenses put in to the frames I already have was going to be $220! I decided to wait on that as well. My final price for just the exam and contact fitting was $173.20!! Their contact fitting is $130!!Never going back. Maybe they should move to Frontenac or a more affluent neighborhood where people dont mind being ripped off.

First visit a success at Performance Eye Care! The staff was courteous and helpful and quickly scheduled me for an emergency issue. Dr. Dreyer was on time, thorough and personable. During the in-depth exam, she explained all the technical medial stuff in easily understandable terms and provided a clear diagnosis. She did not rush and patiently answered all my questions.

In my experience, the team at Performance Eyecare has does a great job with handling both eye healthcare monitoring as well as corrective eyewear solutions. They employ multiple latest technology eye health screening tests which instills confidence that theyll catch something before it becomes a major issue. They also do a great job of helping make sure I take advantage of any insurance benefits.

Staff was SO friendly and helpful before our appointment and during our visit. My kids LOVED that they didnt have to get the puff of air in their eyes and I was impressed with the knowledge of the doctor. They also have a great selection of frames. Last time my daughter bought sport goggles she had to choice of two options, but here she had many choices!

From start to finish this was an excellent experience. The eye exam was quick, efficient, and effective. They’ve taken care to ensure cleanliness and mask use in the pandemic. I genuinely enjoyed the experience of picking out my frames with Evan and Fahaaj. They were so kind and welcoming and eased my fears of picking out something that wouldn’t suit my face. What could normally feel like a chore was a very pleasant experience. Fahaaj also followed up with me a couple of weeks after picking up my glasses to be sure everything was going well and asking if I needed any other adjustments. I’ll recommend them time and time again.

This place is amazing! From the moment I made the phone call to schedule my appointment to the moment I picked up my glasses, everything was smooth sailing. Before I even went in for my appointment, Fahaaj let me know what my insurance would cover. When I got there, I didn’t wait at all to see the doctor, in fact, she was in the room waiting for me! When I picked out my glasses, they were so helpful and helped me pick out the perfect pair that looked great with my face shape. Fahaaj also kept me updated on the status on my glasses once we ordered them. When I went to pick them up, I was seated right away, they fit the glasses to my face, and I was on my way! By far the best experience I have EVER had at the optometrist!

My eye exam on December 13th went very well. I felt that Dr. Dreyer was thorough and the assistance from the staff when picking out frames was very supportive. That was December 13th and was told it would be about 2 weeks before my eye glasses would be ready since there were holidays in between.I never received a call so I telephoned on Tuesday, January 5th. I was told almost immediately that my glasses had been in since December 23rd. I understand that the Christmas holiday immediately followed but there was a week of 4 business days the following week and Monday, January 4th. The staff person told me that a message was left on the 23rd on my cell phone but there is no record of a call at all.I went to the store on Tuesday, January 5th and there was no mention of how long they had been there or if they made any attempts to notify me. I was in and out within 5 minutes.This was very disappointing. I more than likely will return when it is time for my next eye exam, but I will follow up sooner regarding the arrival of new eyeglasses.

They provide outstanding service and have gone above and beyond for us on several occasions when we needed glasses or prescriptions provided on an emergency basis. Dr. Dreyer is fantastic.

A very thorough exam and excellent choice of frames.

Ordered one pair of eyeglasses and 2 pairs of prescription sunglasses. Just picked up the last pair today. They are right down the street from where I work which is super convenient. I typically prefer working with female Doctors because they pay attention and actually listen. Dr Dreyer was no exception. My vision impairments makes it a little difficult to find the right prescription. Dr Dreyer was very patient throughout the consultation. Her staff replicated the same professional experience and were a tremendous help in picking out the frames. They also have a great selection of frames. Highly recommend this practice!!

Long Story of why I made my first visit to Dr Dreyer which is 100 miles round trip for me. The time is well worth it, because once there you are treated very professionally, timely and have 100% confidence that your eyes are being cared for the way they need to be both Short & Long term. Also over the past 4 years, I have seen people change with in her support staff, but it doesnt seem to matter, because each person has always been extremely friendly, curtious and willing to assist however needed. That consistancy is really hard to find these days, dont know about the other Performance Eyecare Centers, but this one Does Things Right.Alan Mueth

The entire staff is absolutely amazing. At the last minute I wound up having to take my 5 year old in with me and everyone was so accommodating and gracious about it. Over the last two weeks, I have taken two pair of glasses to Performance for updated lenses. The first pair took 6 days and the second pair took 5 days, both including weekends. Amazing turnaround times, which was important for me.This compares to a local competitor, which took two weeks to complete new lenses. Also, the Performance staff is very professional and knowledgeable; and, their quality great and the prices were right! They actually live up to their name!I used to go to the national eyecare store in the mall; their turnaround was usually ten days and their prices 20% higher. No more, I will go for Performance!

I came to Performance Eyecare a couple of months with a request for a custom job. Very few optical shops in St. Louis were even willing to attempt custom-shaped lenses, and even fewer at a reasonable price. The folks at Performance Eyecare were more than willing to try, with a price less than half that of some other stores. When the first attempt wasnt everything I hoped for, they produced a second set of lenses for free. I loved the result and happily bragged about it on social media. Two weeks later, my beloved glasses disappeared. When I brought my sob story and replacement frames in, they treated me like family, and produced new custom lenses...for free! I had a very good experience with Performance eye care. This was my second time getting reading glasses and Kayla was just great at helping me out and taking the time to find a pair that worked for me and my features. My first experience was with Clarkson eye care, where I was treated like a burden and felt like I was in the middle of a high school drama gossip scene and ended up with overpriced lenses that were not right for my eyes and made my vision worst after a couple of days. Thank god performance eye care is near me. Performance eye care is smaller and the staff is honorably respectful of theyre customers. Thank you Kayla, I truly love my new glasses and my vision is back to perfect. I now have a place to get my eye sight help that I know I can trust.

Kayla, Sam and Blake are the definition quality customer service. I’ve typically scheduled my annual eye exams at retail giants such as Target or Walmart, which I don’t have anything against, but walking into Performance Eyecare in the quaint Creve Coeur neighborhood was just a relaxing experience. Not only was there no wait at the start, but I was also served bottled water while being presented a detailed list of product options that matched my insurance plan. And Blake was so sweet that your heart will just melt. 5 stars!
