Not for us. I may not have much personal experience with doctors and specialists, but I know that something is not right when I pick up my spouse from their appointment and I need to console them through a emotional breakdown while sitting in the practices parking lot. When finally home, I got a run through of how the appointment went. From the sounds of it, Dr. Tuel is a knowledgeable doctor who certainly can help people. However, he put very little effort towards accommodating requests for special needs and his nurse was quite rude in general for even asking for said accommodation. We will be seeking a referral to a different clinic, one that is more willing to be kind.

They should call him the Pain Whisperer. I was referred there to have lumbar steroid injection due to severe pain and barely being able to move. He talked to me for probably 5 minutes then asked (and acted out) if my pain hit the most when getting up from a chair followed by the old man shuffle. I had not even mentioned getting up and down from a seat yet but he described (and acted out which was great) exactly the one thing I had not gotten to yet. I told him yes and he said I most likely didnt need the needle to the spine. He gave me three simple exercises to do at home and a prescription. In a week I was 95% better. Simply amazing!! Highly recommend.

I have been to pain specialists in AZ and CA and have had some terrible experiences. Dr. Tule has done more for me and explained more about my condition than any of them. With Dr. Tules guidance, I have been able to decrease my opioid intake without experiencing an increase in pain In fact, my pain level is less. The biggest difference between Dr. Tule and his colleagues is that HE LISTENS!!!! My daughter and I both have health conditions that requires special considerations. Not only did Dr. Tule accomodate us, he worked hard to embrace our requirements. Dr. Tule is the best and I highly recommend him. You wont be sorry. BTW, his staff are great too!!!!!

I had a pain doctor I had been going to for two years up until he recently retired. I went into a bit of a panic because I know finding a new doctor is not always that easy. I found doctor Tuels office based on the reviews I found and I must say I truly agree with all of them and why he has gotten five stars for the most part. In the two years I went to my previous pain doctor, I never once had him explain what Dr. Tuel explained to me on my first visit. He does not simply just write you a script, but takes the time to explain things to you in detail. He also did some other things that my old doctor never did. He is very kind and everyone is in the office as well. Kat is who I spoke to the most before actually going for my first visit and she was so polite and helpful. Once my primary doctor put in my referral, they called me back the same day and I was in their clinic within days. Very happy with them. Just wish I had found them sooner, because I am not sure I mentioned I used to travel any hour to see my old doctor as he moved from his old location near my home. Very happy with Southern Pain Specialists!

This office was great until the doctor allowed his wife to control the office. Unfortunately she’s nothing more than a “money hungry “ individual. If a patient is out of work and there’s not money flowing in what’s one to do? Unfortunately they deny you medical appointments and treatment even after you have explained the circumstances prior to appointment. Rude patient interaction by this individual...the rest of staff is very friendly and then you have “her” with her “bookkeeping” notebook...it’s 2020 there’s computers for this...don’t even know the right copays for patients that the system can generate...insurance company even verified this information. I’m leaving it to insurance company to investigate their billing practices and telling patients the wrong amount for copays... I would say I’m surprised but the insurance company states “ many offices pocket the money whenever this is allowed”.

Dr. Tuel is hands down the absolute BEST pain specialist I have been to. He is caring, he listens, he believes you, and he treats you appropriately and accordingly. I have been with him for the past two years and I cant imagine seeing another pain management doctor. And not only is he great, his staff is wonderful too!! I actually cant think of a bad thing to say...not even about the office itself. 😄
