My husband was only there for about three months. It was an answer of prayer that we were able to place him there. He didn’t adjust well at first and staff were very professional in their care as he was difficult at times. With the lockdown it made it so difficult for all of us in the family that we could not go in and spend time With him and help with adjustments. The staff kept us well informed of the care plans, meds, diet etc. Everyone from the office to receptionist always helpful and friendly.Thank you Susquhanna Valley Nursing and Rehab. May God bless all of you. Keep up the good work

This building seemed to start to turn the corner, but has just gone right back down hill. No documented cases of COVID but not allowing visitors of any kind and rumor is they have no regular staff due to the new administrator just coasting by doing nothing. He seems nice but truthfully doesnt seem to have a clue Its a shame because my loved one received excellent care there, but now it seems like they are just trying to get the most $ out of the current residents they can with whatever therapy diagnosis the billing people can come up with. Its a shame I have friends who work there that come home defeated every day because they all need so much more help and staff then what they have!! This building needs help!!!!

This place is extremely dysfunctional and please avoid sending anyone you love here if you have other viable options. I only give it 1 star because the physical, occupational and speech therapy appears to be okay and they have demonstrated professionalism. I cant even begin to express how terribly inconsistent and incompetent the staff are from admissions all the way down the chain with the exclusion of the therapists I met. We actually witnessed a nursing staff member on 2 occasions pick up our handicapped loved one with their bare hands for a transfer from bed to wheelchair. This is a major nursing violation and they high fived each other after it occurred like it was a cool thing. There isnt enough time or energy for me to express how unprofessional and inept this facility is and because I care about people...I warn you to look at other options for yourself or your loved one if they matter at all to you.

Place is run down and floors are dirty and the place smells bad. Seems like the therapists are good but the rest of the staff are unmotivated and totally disorganized. Very inconsistent system of doing things. Makes you wonder how they are caring for your loved one especially if your loved one cant advocate or care for themselves. Explore other options for yourself or your loved one if you can.

From beginning to end this place was a nightmare! My loved one was very dependent because of paralysis on right side but sometimes would literally be picked up and put into bed or wheelchair by one person instead of 2 people or the hoyer! His arm would just hang there. We weren’t allowed to visit inside(Covid)but I could see from his window. Had to make appointments for window visits and sometimes they would stop them because not enough staff to bring him to us. Trying to call him was a nightmare because he needed someone to bring him one of their cell phones(hopefully charged or not misplaced). No way to directly call him . He also waited many hours to be changed because again short staff. When he was finally discharged which was on a Thursday morning with a huge red biohazard bag, everything was inside including clothes, blankets, medicines, papers of all kinds but no instructions on how to address his sugar levels or when or how to give insulin. His legs and feet were badly swollen(no one noticed this?) by Sunday he was sick and by Monday was in the hospital with many blood clots in both legs. Within 8 hours he was gone. The staff (except for a few)were irresponsible, from the main receptionist to the appointment coordinator and everyone in between. I will say he had two great speech therapists. DO NOT place your loved one here.

PLEASE READ!! Disgusting place and take this review as your warning that you should avoid at every cost coming here. The people who work here are lazy and rude and dont know what they are doing and there is not enough staff to meet patient needs. If you have no other places to go, keep digging into other options.

My experience was awful, my mom was sent there after a severe heart attack. Every single day after work I was there to make sure she ate dinner or I fed her. Weekends I was there for lunch and dinner. We filled out menus weekly, I hand delivered them to kitchen, yet every meal it was wrong on her tray. Ticket on tray said puree fruit and veg. Yet veg. never done. Laundry went down, never came back. The lack of communication is beyond belief. With that being said, The new Admin. Susan and Dir. Of Nursing along with the Social staff are great. Physical therapy is outstanding, activities are terrific and well organized. I thought when my mom was discharged with the help from Hospice , I had seen the last of that place. No the case, circumstances and no good ones brought us together again, Anger and dismay dont even begin to convey my emotions. But Susan the Admin. Stayed until past 7 pm on a Fri. night to address and make sure the matter was fixed to my satisfaction. Gratitude and thankfulness are the place I am at now. With a team like that in place now, it wont take long before Susquehanna Valley will be a 5 star Nursing and rehab. They truly care about the patient and their family, even after you have had nothing good to say about the facility and left. I urge everyone to place a loved one here, many things have been implemented since moms stay. Just need to get a new Dir. of Food Service and Housekeeping & Laundry. Soon it will be an amazing, place to stay. So thankful for Susan. Good luck.

The Center has come along way with continuous improvement in enhancing the quality of care to Residents.I am so proud of all the staff at Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehab Center. The therapy gym is newly renovated and Residents enjoy the pleasant atmosphere while participating in extensive one on one therapy session. The Lobby is cheerful with the recent renovation and has 5 computer stations for residents to easily access the internet.

My mother has been in this home for 6 months. She loves it. This is a woman who worked in a nursing home and vowed she never wanted to go to one. I have read the past negative reviews. Mom is happy here and that brings me peace of mind.

The smoke wafts all the way back to my mothers room when residents are outside smoking. Why dont they take the smokers out back or somewhere away from the front entrance? Its disgusting, especially for non smokers, to have to smell that stench when visiting loved ones

Would get a 5 star rating if it werent for the cigarette stench in the front lobby. Smokers area needs to be moved away from the building.

I have been visiting my loved one at Susquehanna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for six months now, and I find the staff to be very friendly and accomodating. The care is good to great (you must be a good advocate as they grow aquainted with your loved one). Like any long-term care facility, there will be staff that comes and goes, but there is core of full time and partime people that have been there more than a little while are dedicated to good care. They love their clients. You can see that when you speak to them and in the rapport they have with the residents.

In my opinion, Vulgar and distasteful, unprofessional staff. People ask me How could you leave a well paying job?. It is apparent why the turnover rate here is so high. The employees that have been hired at Susquehanna are there for a paycheck. They are not there in the interest of the residents. The wrong employees have been hired and the facility is just barely functioning. I would sooner work at McDonalds making minimum wage before ever stepping foot back in this building. I realize that every facility has their flaws, and I also realize that every building is facilitated differently. But I take pride in being a Certified Nursing Assistant. Susquehanna Valleys goal is to make today the very best for each and every resident. Your failure to do that is apparent by the incompetent staffing that has been established by Susquehanna. I have never worked a job any less than 3 years. This was certainly eye-opening, considering I lasted only two days here (orientation). Two days too long.

Very rude people that work there. Unfortunately, Administration changes so frequently you can’t keep up with it. Look at the last five years! The State Survey is available for anyone to see immediately to see any delinquencies and issues. There is NO WAY I would place a loved one here! Very unprofessional atmosphere and poor accountability and follow up.

This place is absolutely awful!!!! Dont ever put your loved one here!!!! Most of the staff are VERY unpleasant and never know anything or communicate or help you. Its dirty and sad place. They never tell the truth or stick to a care plan for your loved one. Spent three days and five hours trying to get my grandmas clothing so we could get her out of that hell hole!!!! And nobody could/would help find it!!!

Awful place to work. The directors do not care. Employees are allowed to do as they please. Reported neglagence and abuse goes ignored. Volgar language in hallways in front of staff and residences a daily occurance. Call bells go for periods of time without being answered. You name it it happens. They entice new applicants with good wages and expect them two keep there mouths shut and ignore issues. If you report incidences you will be concidered a trouble maker. The facility looks good from the lobby but when you go into the halls themselves its a horrible sight. There is constent bickering and arguing between staff and supervisors do nothing. Horrible experience in my personal opinion. Not a good place to work or live. There is no structure organization and this facility is out of control.if you care, love, and are passionate about what you do then this is NOT the facility to work at.
