When my SO arrived there he was in a hospital gown open back in wheel chair they took him to a room and left him I walked in he was huddled over a wall heater with purple fingers from being cold . He told him he was cold no blanket was offered he had been there over a hour, there was no towels or wash rags in the bathroom. The tv was unplugged but there. He had clothes there but no help to get them on. He was taken there to help rehab his lower legs to go home after being in university hospital. He fell shortly after that. When I asked for help to get him up they said they had no idea he wasn’t self sufficient, now really this is a assisted care facility why would he be there if he was. They final helped him in bed. I asked for a portable toilet, or walker they said they was told he had a walker and that they had no portable toilet but maybe they could find one some where. I explained that he could not make it to a bathroom quickly and had to have one.other wise they will be cleaning their carpet. I ended up bringing one from his home 6 hours later.. Been there two days now still no therapy, first day sack lunch for lunch and another sack lunch for dinner. Second day they were gave menus both lunch and dinner did not give what he had asked for. Nurse took his vitals first time after he was there 6 hours after I had asked her 2 time if she had. On second day they had a pile of paper work for him to sign lady walked in told him to come down to office and fill them out and walked away he hollered at her to come back and when she did he explained he could not get up by himself and just come down there. She finally brought them to him. One of them was asking him to sign saying he would stay there 17 days. After all this you think he signed it he’ll no he is really to get out of there all ready. I have spoken with the director of nursing the first evening and told her of his experience she acted surprised but the second day was no better. I emptied a half full bucket of pee out of his portable Cambodian at 6 pm he had dumped his portable urinal in there all day no one had bothered to offer to take care of it. He had put him self on a bed pan and was on it when I arrived the second evening and I cleaned him up. No one checks on the people staying there. Now today starts day 3 I will see what this day hold. So far I would not even begin to recommend this place people would be better going home and fending for them seat that is what they do there.

Very poor management and they take advantage of their staff. They claim to pay one thing but pay another. Residents r not taken care of and administration does nothing about it.

If I could leave a negative star I would leave as many as it would let me . This place has no respect for their staff you will never have a good staff that works for you without showing respect for your employees and their wellbeing. You don’t tell someone that they are a liar because you are understaffed or because you can’t cover a shift . When something heartbreaking happens to an employee and they come in face to face to explain and you look them in the face and say they are lying you deserve what you get. I hate the fact that the residents suffer because of management. Please beware of sending anyone here. From my understanding the patients are lacking the care they deserve. If you have someone there keep a close eye.

I had to put my mom there last yr due to cancer i regret it every single day, i would go to see her every day after i got off work. they were always late getting their dinner, food is nasty and would be cold by the time they get it, only a few of the nurses really care . i would get on to them every time i was there, my mom would not get her pain meds on time for her cancer she would hit the nurses button would take them 45 min to come even after i go to the desk to tell them shes needs them now shes in pain, they were supposed to check on her every 15 min or so they hardly did. i would see nurses yelling at their patients if they didnt do what they are told, some of these people are there because they cant remember things no need to yell at them. PLZ DO NOT TAKE FAM MEMBERS HERE I WOULD NOT LET MY WORST ENEMY STAY HERE, ITS AWFUL, THEY ALSO HAVE A FEW LAW SUIT AGAINST THEM, I HOPE THEY GET SHUT DOWN

I lived there for two years during which they ran out of food every weekend. Im diabetic food is a must. My roommate had a nurse named Jimmy put a whole tube of denture cream in his mouth at 8 PM he tried to suck the cream out at 12:30 that night he passed away. Took 3 days to remove the body. I also witnessed four drug overdoses three of which were life threatening. One caused a heart attack. One left in ICU for three weeks. Third EMT performed CPR on cause nurses were not trained. I also complained for months in both care plan meetings and resident council meetings of these things. Finally I was kicked out for kicking another resident top off their knee I am physically impossible of seating and kicking that high due to a bone tumor the size of a softball behind my knee cap and had padded house shoes on which wouldnt have left a mark. When I tried explaining this to Nick he put me in a smoking schedule that was inconvenence to both me and the staff. Also requiring the resident to smoke at same time. He would not listen to guardian or doctor when told that was not going to work.If you are sending your family member to a nursing home look at anything but parkside your family member is more likely to die then get the care they need

My grandmother is here and she is very mistreated. She doesnt get her medicine on time, some nurses are very rude. I have called to complain about 12 times in the year and a half sbes been living here, because my grandmother called me crying. They take most of her disability check, and feed her nasty food. I stopped by to see her one day and she had her lunch sitting in front of her, because she couldnt eat it. I tried a bite, and it was horribly salty and greasy. Theres no way to call a nurse to your room if you need something, unless you yell at the top of your lungs. Theyve been rude to me several times. I could go on and on about how horriblethis place is. The food, the workers, the facility, everything about this place is just horrible. Do not send any elderly or handicapped person here.
