They don’t have the necessary help to equalize for clients so that many suffer. They to staff up pay more and make sure cna’s are trained properly. I know it can be heckled but you must do your job that you get paid for. Not clients waiting hours to be attended to

Very poor service as suppose be professional facility with train management and caregivers in the nursing field. I had a sister who was needing total care because of her having a very serious surgery, she was there for about a week and it was the worst experience it could have been to be a rehab her call light button for help someone coming in maybe 3 hours later and then they act like they didnt want to do anything when she called for service. And the thing is if she was not sick as she was she would have not been there she would have been home, but thank God through it all he fix it where she had the opportunity to have more care professionally an overall by going home so the rating with yall is definitely poor poor nursing facility

I wish there were 0 stars & below, because they deserve -10 stars. Where do I begin........The staff for thr most part is rude and it seems like you are bothering them for a glass of water. My husband didnt even have underwear on & he had the same dirty socks on that he had on when he arrived from the hospital. They never brushed his teeth or hair...total neglect. We buzzed for the nurse, no response for over 1 & 1/2 hours. He never even received a food tray. There are 3 employees who were wonderful. I want to be sure to mention them. One was Kortez.... a wonderful young man, well-versed, respectful & caring. Michelle was another very nice staff member. She took her time to explain some things to us and went out of her way for us the short time he was there. The 3rd employee who was kind, honest & caring was Kay. She even walked ouside with us and shared her thoughts with us.As far as the rest, I wouldnt want to leave a dog under their watch. RUDE, NASTY & DISRESPECTFUL. I pulled my husband out of there in less than 48 hours!! DO NOT SENT ANYONE THERE THAT YOU CARE ABOUT......AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST IS THAT THE DIRECTOR IS A COMPLETE A%^&*$$#@ !!!!! UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE AND SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE LABOR BOARD, MEDICAL BOARD AND EVERY OTHER BOARD NECESSARY!!!!!!!!!! GOD HELP THE PATIENTS IN THERE THAT HAVE NO FAMILY MEMBERS OR ADVOCATE TO SEE THE SHAMEFUL TREATMENT THEY ARE RECEIVING. S T A Y A W A Y ......

Do not send your loved ones here! The Director of Nursing got her degree online. Really... an online degree for a Director of Nursing who is responsible for an entire facility. If I could give zero stars, I would.

If I could give this facility Zero stars I would. Please do not allow your family members to go into this place. They will not receive quality care. Part of my Mothers treatments included oxygen, this was not done on a regular basis. When you would call the facility, no one would answer. This caused me to drive there to ensure that my Mother was ok. The emergency after hours number is a joke. No-one ever answered. I left complaints online and no one ever responded. How can you have an emergency after hours number but no one ever answers? The room was always extremely hot or extremely cold. The nurses and aids would not respond to my Mother for help. Ex. She asked for help and was told to go to sleep. She was not provided 3 meals a day consistently. She would call because they skipped her or just forgot about her. When I voiced my concerns to the administration, they retaliated against her. She was ignored more, calls were unanswered, etc. My Mother who was sick and weak got in a wheelchair to find help it was taking them so long to respond. I received this same treatments during visits. I would ask for someone to assist her and was ignored. She also had property stolen. Something that is cherished by our family and cannot be replaced. From the aids to the director, they do not care about patient care, they are simply there to collect checks.

Do not send your loved ones here. The DIrector of Nursing, Sivil Middelton, is the worst DON that I have ever seen. She didn’t realize that my dad’s labs revealed that he had an infection until 8 days later. My dad had to be admitted to the hospital because his infection was not treated. Sivil neglected to see my dad’s rapid decline. He went from ambulating to a few days later, a vegetative state. A moron could see that something was wrong with my dad. Sivil, doesn’t care about the quality of care, blames everybody else, and she will literally act unprofessional, immature and ghetto.

Not only that but pressing buttons to call them they won’t come. They also don’t help people in wheelchairs. They also have no idea of what is going on in other parts of the building so one person will tell you go here and the other will say to go somewhere else. This is a TERRIBLE place so please even if it is prescribed to go here ask to go somewhere else. Also no physical therapy was even provided. If you read the reviews on PruittHealth - Blythewood it tells of a place that does not care about anything but money. There are a few good employees, but they are very unhappy because of the Director and upper managements lack of concern for them and the residents of Pruitt.1. The food is very bad. They do not follow guide lines, very salty, almost all processed food, most of the time you can not tell what it is and they do not have good choices or follow a menu.2. Medications are not given properly or timely. He was told he could have 4 percosets a day, he has had 4 heart attacks, bypass surgery and a pace maker and they were going to give him this medication with out his doctors knowing.3. when clothing is sent to be cleaned it does not come back, I had to replace his clothes twice so now he washes them in his bathroom sink because he is afraid they will not come back.4. He has had items stolen from his room and I was told they would look into it and they never did.5. He had to go to an eye appointment to get a treatment to keep him from going blind each month, they skipped it 3 months and when I told them he had to go, they told me he would have to go into quarentine for 2 weeks and I would have to pay for it. When Dhec called they finally let him go.The upper management in their home office has been told over and over about this and they do not care all they want is the $5200.00 a month they get for him to be there. There worst part was one day he did not get lunch and I had food delivered to him and they would not give it to him. When I called to see what happened they said they had to hold it for 48 hours. The staff gets food delivered every day and they do not have to wait, why does a 91 year old man have to.

This is the worst place to take your love one. They don’t have enough staff and they stretch the nurses that they have thin by only having one nurse to 15 to 20 patients. You can find the CNA’s huddled up gossiping in a corner, while a patient is crying out for help down the hall. The patients clothes get loss, the food is nasty and cold. If the patient needs help with eating they definitely not going to help them eat or make sure that they are fed. They don’t groom the patients. The clients fall and injure themselves and they don’t know how it happened. You inquire about the patience care and report incidents when it occurs and the director tells you that they will investigate and get back with you and you never hear back from them to learn of the results of they’re so called investigation and if they have a resolve. Nice looking facility put provide the poorest service. They don’t care.

Atrocious and shameless scam!We were referred to this awful place because it is one of the few places that accepts Medicaid. We called ahead to schedule a tour. We were told we could come this morning(Sunday 10/13/19), call first and then come.We called around 10am, a disinterested person answered and transferred the call to the supervisor . The call was quickly disconnected. We called around 10 more times and either the call disconnected or the call was answered and quickly disconnected. We decided to drive over anyway since we had planned the visit. We arrived. There was no one to be found at the reception desk. Other than a church service there were no employees on sight. After wandering around we pushed on a door which seemed to be the entrance to a foul smelling ward. The employees were put upon and defensive. When told we were looking for the supervisor for a tour, no one could be found. The response was You didnt speak to me!. Finally, someone who could have been a supervisor came up and was going to see if someone was around. This facility is supposedly licensed and responsible for the care of the elderly and frail. There is not management/administrator or supervisor available????No one answers the telephone in a courteous manner? No one answers the telephone period!Who is in change of this abysmal place? Why is the government giving them our hard earned tax dollars?????If you want your loved one abused, and mistreated this, is the place for them. I highly recommend Pruitt in Blythewood for both rehabilitation and skilled nursing. My mother-in-law has been at Pruitt since August 2016, first in rehabilitation and now in skilled nursing. She was in Assisted Living prior to coming to Pruitt. She had at least six falls at her former residence where she lived for only two short months. She has only had one minor fall at Pruitt in six months. All of the therapists in the rehab unit were excellent. When she completed rehab, my husband and I visited every nursing home in Columbia and Lexington and none were better than Pruitt in Blythewood in our opinion and so we kept her at Pruitt after rehab. My mother-in-law has a very complicated and strict medicine regime and the Pruitt nursing staff has done an excellent job keeping it timely and consistent. They keep the facility very clean and the facility is beautiful. It does not feel as smothering as most nursing homes feel. I would have given Pruitt five stars but I agree with the other posts that they are under-staffed. Pruitt needs to focus on hiring more staff and having an activities director to organize activities and events for the residents but those are our only two complaints. We love the staff at Pruitt. Everyone is friendly and nice and takes very good care of our loved one. Nobody wants their loved one in a skilled nursing facility but if you do face this situation, we feel that Pruitt is the best in our area.

My aunt was admitted here and passed within a few weeks. She was neglected and treated with indifference. The main administrator was down right rude an argumentative about everything. My aunt was initially there for a week without a bath or shower. She was release from the hospital to this so called care facility with some health issues, but mainly for physical therapy to gain mobility and resume her previous home care services. She was not diagnosed as close to death when she was released from the hospital for physical therapy. She reported to family and friends days before her passing that she was having difficulty breathing, at which point she should have been taken to the emergency room. We are not wealthy people and this is what these facilities count on. If a patient complains in a nursing home that they cannot breathe and the facility does not have the same equipment as an ER or chronic level hospital, and Blythewood doesnt, it is my understanding that legally the patient should be taken to the ER. They remain unaccountable to this day. But we her family have not forgotten the treatment she received and wish to warn others not to choose this place. We made the choice based on the physical therapy pool, as my aunt was overweight and needed the pool to exercise her legs and joints according to the therapists at her previous hospital. These people tried every means necessary to keep from exerting effort of care from bathing to physical therapy. My aunt came for physical therapy and died within a few weeks.

Very disappointed in the service and care at PruittHealth Blythewood! Yes, the facility looks nice, but BEWARE. A family member was admitted for orthopedic rehab after a too good to be true sales pitch that made it seem like the perfect fit. It went downhill from the minute we arrived. Absolutely minimal time spent in PT given the nature of the surgery, level of PT therapy was not consistent or even appropriate for the type of surgery and condition of the patient, medicines not given according to schedule, meals dont arrive at consistent times and can range from 1-3 hours for a specific meal time. After attending a meeting in the library with the medical team, we were basically left without any offer to assist in getting back to the room - par for course given the experience thus far. This is a nursing home, not a rehab facility. And even at that, nursing home patients deserve so much better!

Our experience with the Physical Therapists was wonderful, but the nursing care was totally lacking. My mother waited at times hours for help and medication after pushing the call button. Our family met with two high level administrators, who promised calls back to the family and training for nurses, but the care did not improve. In fact, the doctor on staff ordered medication for her that her primary physician had specifically written should NOT be administered to her because of adverse reactions. After only two weeks, we moved our mother out and are seeking a facility that will care for her needs. The previous owners had an excellent facility and staff, but under Pruett, the care and commitment to serving patients has disappeared. If I could have rated it 0 stars, I would have.

She told me the director of nurses would be coming by to see me which never happened. He was also given a calming drug which was not to be given unless absolutely necessary. I asked why they gave it and have not gotten and answer. Their Docter also changed the dosed of one of his main medicines and now he is back in the hospital . I am also trying to find another place. My brother died in this facility on August 5, 2017.Our family knew that he would not live much longer, but we were trusting that he was being cared for in a humane way. We were involved in his care at the Killian Road location, but apparently someone in the family should have been there sleeping in the room all 32 nights that he was in Pruitt Health. We staggered visits with him, trying to help make him comfortable and to keep up with his care. We were aware of incidents during the day with my brother and with other patients all around us, but nightime, I believe, is when you can count on the real neglect to take place.I stayed two nights with him during those 32 long days, and on both of those nights, I had to ask for his peg tube feeding. On one occasion, he was not fed for 10 hours, when he was supposed to be fed every 4 hours. The second feeding neglect incident was not as long in duration. However, pain meds were not given on schedule, either, when he was dying with stage 4 lung cancer and begging for relief one of the nights, or rather early mornings at 3:15. I was exasperated when the nurse (LPN) would not give the medication to him, because another nurse had given it too early. (In a panic, I wanted to dial 911...for the police.) Pain meds were a problem the second night that I stayed with him, as well. Oh, and I havent mentioned the mysteriously missing Fentanyl (pain) patches that were supposed to be placed on my brother every three days. Several times, they werent...on him.The night before my brother died, I helped to turn him to change him. He had a 4 inch crimson colored pressure sore on his backside. No one had notified the family. The director of nursing said that they had only one contact number and tried it, but with no response. NOT true; three contact numbers were on file, and I had confirmed that more than once.I am NOT saying that there are no professional, caring individuals who work there, because there are. And, yes, they are understaffed, but...WHY?I COULD SAY SO MUCH MORE.If your loved one is/goes here, ask LOTS of questions, camp out when you can, keep a journal, write down names of staff members, spend nights when you can. Notice how other patients are cared for, as well. Thats who I am thinking of now, those who are still there. The one gold star is for those with integrity who care for the elderly, sick and disabled at Pruitt Health, Killian Road. The beautiful facility gets no stars, because that matters none, if the patients calls for help are ignored, and their needs are not met in a timely manner. It is my intention to file a complaint with DHEC online.

Wish I could post zero stars...please dont take your people here. They are terrible. They do not want to do their jobs, they are short on staff regardless of the fact that people are paying $9000 and up a month for their loved ones to be cared for. They are left in their room with day old water until their loved ones come to visit to bring fresh water. Fall risk patients are left to find their own way to the bathroom and if they go on themselves are left in their filth until it is convenient to the staff and even then you are sent a separate bill for having to change the patient. Patients are left in their wheelchairs for hours on end and have mysterious bruises galore over their bodies. Every complaint is met with we are understaffed. If you are so understaffed that you cant provide care for your patients, then maybe (and this is not a suggestion) you should stop taking in new patients. PERIOD. All I know is that you reap what you sow and I hope the so called staff here never becomes elderly to the point where they need assistance because this will be their reward for the excellent care they are providing to others children, parents, and grandparents.
