Took my son in for a Covid Test. We were walk-ins. Sign in process was easy, registration via my cellphone. The wait was reasonable for not having an appointment. Also, went again this morning to get myself and youngest son tested. Same simple process and pretty much was in and out. Would recommend.

While the staff was very friendly and helpful during my husbands visit, there has been no follow up since his visit 10 days ago. He is waiting for a much needed referral and I have called the last five days and no one has ever answered the phone. I have also left messages that have not been resolved.

This Place is awful!!! FIRST they examine me while my leg was in so much pain and didn’t have a lot to say while being short about the response. Ladies at the front was awesome but that is not the worst part. When DR. CHRISTOPHER TROTTER told me he was going to refer to the Ortho for my leg because a ligament might be torn and I had to call by Friday if I didn’t hear nothing back from the Ortho. Friday rolls around multiple calls and no answer at all so what is the point of having phones and cannot answer a call or call the number back with a voicemail. But the worst part is I return Saturday morning while I can barely walk with my leg swollen, for them to tell me I have no Referral in the system and just recommended there favorite Ortho. So if I did not show up, I would’ve been waiting for a call that is not coming. They do not care and I work so I needed extra time to stay off and they just ran pass it and did not even assist me in this. That’s extremely rude and unprofessional. Again THANK YOU DR. CHRISTOPHER TROTTER FOR NOT CARING ENOUGH TO REFER ME!!!!

I went there last March because I was out of my blood pressure medication. I offered to pay cash for the visit. When they found out I was a veteran, they said I did not have to pay and that I was covered by my VA insurance. Later they bill me over $250, way more than the cash visit would’ve cost. Now they’ve sent me to collections. I either have to pay their fee or have my credit ruined. I will not be extorted, credit be damned, it’s the principle of it. If you go there prepared to pay cash, don’t let them talk you out of it, it may cost you.

I had to come here to do some routine bloodwork for school and they were great. Sara Honeycutt and Brittany Honeycutt were the sweetest receptionist ever, they went above and beyond to take care of me and make sure I had everything I needed during my visit. They deserve a raise 100 %. Miss Tammy is also great she drew my blood multiple times it was very painless. Give her a raise too!

Went in for a dreaded Covid test! They all were incredibly kind and considerate with their attention and care! No long wait times and the front desk was friendly and easy to talk to! The triage nurse was amazing! That guy deserves a paid vacation! The doctor was one of the best I’ve seen in Columbia and did everything she could to ease my concerns! I left out with a positive test but feeling as good as one can about it because of THEM! I would definitely recommend and go back in the future!

The care I received here was wonderful! I fell off my bicycle and injured my arm and was taken to Prisma Richland and sat in the waiting room for 4.5 hours. During the middle of my wait they did take X-rays and told me that my arm wasn’t broken and probably just sprained at the elbow joint and then had me waiting in the waiting room again to be seen by a doctor. I waited until 2am and decided that I couldn’t wait any longer because my arm was in pain. I just left and went home and took some over the counter pain reliever and tried to sleep it off. When I woke up I went to MedCare and I only waited 20 minutes maybe and was seen, x-rays were taken and I was shown that my arm IS ACTUALLY BROKEN… they gave me a sling and referred me to ortho. The doctor, the x-ray tech, and one of the nurses was so kind and made sure I was taken care of. Highly recommend going to this place over ANY Prisma ER!!

This place is ridiculous. First, they gave me another patients paperwork and tried to discharge me before they had even seen me. That is a HIPPA violation. Then after waiting in the exam room for over half an hour, I found myself alone and locked in the building after closing time. I left unseen by the doctor and alarmed that this place is considered a professional medical practice.

This was by far the best urgent care I’ve ever been to. I was in and out less than 45 min ! The front desk women were very polite and helpful with my registering bc I didn’t fill out some stuff correctly. The doctor and nurse that came in were genuine and gave me the medication I needed in literally two min . Highly recommend this place to go to! Also came in around 5:00 when everyone gets off of work ! 5 stars !

The staff was very helpful but the dr just blew off my problem. I came in with severe lower stomach pain to the point where I was crying and left the same exact way. The dr looked at me while crying and did nothing but TALK ! I honestly wasted my time

Med care has a very friendly and helpful staff. Despite all that is going on they still try and take care of patients and genuinely care. My only concern is the cleanliness of the facility. The one way to tell if a facility is maintain is to look up. The vents and ceiling fans it covered in mold and dust. Not the kinda thing you want to see when visiting the doctor. Im sure this will get the attention it needs asap.

Due to one family member being exposed to COVID 19, all six of us went to Medcare Urgent Care at the Garners Ferry address. All of the staff were extremely helpful, patient and professional at all times. We were given detailed instructions and we only waited two days for the results. Great facility, great people!

Wonderful experience. Called before going and the desk staff was super friendly. When I got there they were so personable and friendly. Didn’t wait to long. The male nurse that took me back was very comforting g knowing I felt horrible. The doctor was efficient and listened to me. Nurses who gave me shots were awesome as well as the X-ray tech who gave me chest X-rays. Ended up I had pneumonia and they made a very bad day as comfortable as it could have gone! VERY GOOD STAFF! Will be my go to when I am sick!

Wow. Sarah at front desk was especially helpful and sympathetic. She was careful to provide me with accurate info, and took time to do so even though it was almost time to close. The staff also was calm and professional when a lady came in with a very urgent need for her child to be seen. The child was very scared and probably in pain and no one raised their voice or could be heard in the waiting room though the poor kid was understandably loud. This was just minutes before closing and handled well. The facilities seem to have changed a little since opening -- they used to keep cocoa and tea out almost a decade ago when I would come for flu shots, but that may be long gone. It is an open and inviting space all the same. Lots of room which is good when theres a crowd. Finally I appreciate the care provider listening to me about my medical history and past treatment. I seldom need to see a doctor, but when youre not my PCP, you cant know that. And when I dont want to bring my toddler to a clinic, after hours care is sometimes the best option for us. I have used this location for flu shots before, and appreciate it being affordable and convenient and professionally staffed. If you call in advance, unlike Drs Care, they are upfront about fees and what that includes. That is incredibly helpful when some places can charge different prices both from location to location and within a location depending on who is working that shift.

DO NOT GO HERE! I setup an appointment, it was delayed a few times before I arrived and that is no problem, but when I arrived at my appointment time I was told that it would be about a 3 HOUR WAIT, and this 3 hours would have to be spent indoors with 20 other people during a pandemic, you cannot wait outside, you cannot wait in your car. This is not a place you want to be during a pandemic.

First I have to say I always had a good experience until today. I actually refer a lot of patients here when they can not get into there primary care and need attention. Today I was just a number. I know healthcare is stressed to the max right now with this pandemic however you need to provide a service in which you were paid for. I paid 100$ which exceeds my copay and was told I would at least get a full doctors visit. The staff was great however when it came down to the doctor coming in she brushed off my symptoms told me I was negative for covid and did not even listen enough to see if further evaluation should be done. I had an episode at work in which I blacked out yesterday however no concern or further evaluation, just ushered out with a note to give my employer that I was covid free. If I wanted only a test I would have gone to a free site. Instead I was falsely informed I would have a visit which was 1 min max. Taking money without attention is fraudulent. I’m truly disappointed that I lost out on time and money for a test I could have for free. And sadly I’m disappointed to have recommended patients to come here.

I don’t know what is going on with this location but I took my second COVID test Saturday past and I felt that the doctor did not care a great deal for me. She came in asking what brought you in today with everything I started out with flu test being done and you ask me what brought me in, so that tell me the doctor did not read the chart about their patient to know what is going on with them. Then finishing my visit they gave me paperwork explaining that I should get a notification, here it is Thursday no notification. Even though I called the facility this morning and got a verbal result and was told that I will receive an email with link, NEVER CAME, I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK THERE

Arrived in excruciating pain, staff was very responsive and got me in to see the doctor as quickly as possible. Showed great concern and were very caring. Doctor had great bedside manner and prescribed exactly what was needed to get me back on my feet.

I was there last Friday on abdominal pain. They did a pregnancy test said it was negative and took x-ray and said I was constipated. Here it comes Sunday, worst pains I go to the hospital and they said I’m 19 weeks pregnant!!! Can I get a refund on my false results on Friday June 25, 2021?

Was recommend to this place to get a Covid Test. How am I supposed to feel safe when the front desk receptionist is not wearing her mask correctly. When I asked why her nostrils were exposed she said they weren’t. Really? This picture says otherwise. Also we’re supposed to check in on IPADS that are not being cleaned after other patients have touched them. Do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE else but this place!

I went to go get covid tested and after standing there for an hour AND paid, the woman at the desk said that they weren’t doing them anymore “because the doctor has seen 150 patients today and he’s tired). Booked my appointment online for a Monday at 3:45 then I got a text letting me know that they were running 21 min behind so my new time was 4:06, I didn’t get taken back into a room until 5:10 the nurse quickly and efficiently gave me the covid test and then told me I had to wait for the doctor to come in and see me before I leave which was over 35 minutes ago. I understand that y’all are the only one who’s time is valuable but that’s actually not the case. Does it really take this long? What a joke, I won’t be back here ever. I was supposed to start a job on Tuesday the 17th. I paid for the rapid result test (or so I thought) on that previous Saturday. I was told that the rapid result test was not accurate and they needed to do a “send out “ test. They told me I would receive my results in the next couple of days and at most Tuesday by COB. The doctor even exclaimed in how he was reading results from tests he had sent out the day before! LIES!!!!! Today is Thursday the 19th. I have lost my position, and I still have not received my results. I can’t get anyone on the phone, and no one has retuned my messages. If they would have been honest I may have been able to save my job. Now I am unemployed again. I hope you’re happy with my wasted $200 that I truly didn’t have.

The staff was friendly when I came in the other week and was tested for covid, but now my husband is waiting for his results and we CANNOT get anyone on the phone. The results were supposed to be back by now and weve called the office 12 times today and 8 times yesterday to check. Nobody has picked up the phone once. We dont want to ask for the results in person and risk possibly infecting anyone but we dont see another option if they dont answer the phones. This was the only other way I thought I could try and communicate with the staff.

The staff was professional and friendly. While I was waiting in the lobby I noticed two staff members had to repeat the same information consistently over the phone concerning the requirements of COVID testing. So many times that I had it memorized. They worked diligently even though they were busy answering phones constantly. I did not feel rushed or ignored at all. I was in and out within 90 minutes with a diagnosis and prescription. I would absolutely recommend them!

DO NOT GET TESTED FOR COVID-19 AT THIS LOCATION!!! I’ve been tested twice here, and both times they fail to reach out to me to provide me my results. I have to contact them myself in order to receive results. They will also take an additional 30 minutes longer than your scheduled time to get you into your actual appointment, so be prepared to wait in that lobby.I’m extremely disappointed and will not be returning to this location for COVID testing again. The fact that they just expect you to “forget” is absurd. I need my results, and so do those around me.

Great online check-in, and the front desk and intake nurse were wonderful. Bad experience with the attending physician though.I will share what I wrote to their feedback survey:Our intake nurse was incredibly nice, she was great.However the attending physician was memorably unfriendly. I know that long days with many patients can wear someone down, but this seemed more like an overall poor bedside manner. After briefing me on what was wrong, I didn’t quite understand what she was explaining. I asked for more info, saying, “What does that mean?” She said, “You don’t need to know that.” I said, “Oh-- I was just curious.” She said, “Well then you can Google it.”Yikes! That was just the main course. The entire appointment was peppered with pretty blatant rudeness: cutting me off mid-sentence, refusal to provide more info, abrasive tone of voice, and a general sense of arrogance that kind of shook me up.I say this was memorable because I can’t remember encountering a physician with such a lack of social skills. Again, I know how hard it can be dealing with many probably difficult patients all day long. But the bottom line is that I’m far less likely to return to this location, and despite my previously positive encounters, much less likely to refer anyone else here. Really surprised and disappointed. I hope this feedback helps.

This was by far my best experience going to an urgent care. Ive tried going to different Doctors Care locations throughout town hoping for a positive experience, but was always disappointed with how I was treated as if I was inconveniencing staff with my presence. Im glad I choose to give MEDcare Urgent Care a chance because of dignity and respect I was shown by the staff at the front desk and in the back. There are plenty of other urgent cares closer to my home, but I most definitely would be willing to make the drive here for my acute needs.

I had the best experience, I have ever had at an Urgent Care. They were all amazing. Super friendly, professional amd knowledgeable. My appointment wasnt until 730p at the end of their shift and they didnt make me feel rushed they were as happy and friendly as if they just started the day. Last week my daughter was very ill. We had to visit this Urgent Care 2 times. Both times we saw Dr. Miller. We called ahead and made an appointment and did not wait long at all before she was taken back to get fluids. I had called ahead and the phone was answered promptly. Scheduled an appointment online for a COVID test and completed registration ahead of time. The system said to go inside to check in and didn’t provide an alternate method. Since I didn’t want to potentially spread it, I waited in my car and called to tell them I’d arrived. Called several times, only to receive the voicemail each time. There’s no designated area in the parking lot for COVID testing, so my guess is that it’s done inside? I don’t recommend this location for COVID testing.

I would love to give a 0. Was met by two rude front counter workers who said I should have “stayed inside” when I asked for a covid test. They then told me I hadn’t met my deductible (which it’s been met for a month) and said my visit would be “70 or 75ish dollars”. Never gave me a clear answer and kept my change to “go on my account” even after I said I wouldn’t be back. The doctor didn’t even give the test, the nurse did and she was the only good part of this experience. They gave my test results to my roommate who called and asked to pass the phone to me so I could privately hear my results (this was 4 days after and they were suppose to call us as soon as they got results), instead they just said my results to him and told him to “let me know I was positive” HIPPA VIOLATION MUCH! Also, before your workers want to make snarky comments about social distancing like they can do more than sign people in on a computer, why don’t you stop them from letting 40 people in the lobby at once. Do not go here!

They are not following CDC or SCDHEC guidelines concerning COVID-19. The nurse during consultation contradicted herself and just left me confused. Called my health insurance nurse line and was told the exact opposite from what MedCare told me. Try to get clarification from a doctor at MedCare about the conflicting information and was hung-up on. I would go someplace else. DougI did email them back and explained what happen in detail. Did get a response saying that they appear to not be following procedures and they are looking into it. However, I have not gotten an answer to my questions or an explanation as to why they are not following CDC or SCDHEC guidelines. Doug

Every staff member with whom I interacted was friendly and efficient. The wait time was shorter than I was anticipating. Dr Koon has an excellent bedside manner and took the time to listen to my symptoms, recommend an appropriate treatment, and then took the time to give me further education on my condition and made sure I understood well before I left. First of all they dont answer the phone. This is significant because those who arent able to check on the patient portal like my wife had to go up to the office and ask for her results. If a person is covid positive they can make others sick. So by not answering the phone after making over 10 calls ,my wife had to find out she needs to quarantine for the next two weeks. My friend is having the same issue and as a side note people who are paying the $125 for the covid 19 test and are having to go up their and get their results,even if they come back negative they can contract the Illness and spread it without knowing since they wont answer the phone sick people are spreading the virus.So answer the phone.

My visit was on July 22, 2018. I seen Dr.Benjamin Thompson. My visit was a pleasant and very professional visit. My wait time wasnt long, I was their no longer than a hour. The entire staff was awesome from the time I enter the door until I left. I was greeted by the young lady who checked me in when I came in and again as I left. The only suggestion that I have is, when leaving a specimen in the bathroom, the wipes should be visible. You dont see them until you open the door to put your specimen in. I went here because I thought I had an sinus infection. This nurse practitioner comes in, and asks whats my symptoms. I tell her, and she says you dont have an sinus infection, but I promise in a few days youre going to have a cold... She writes me an prescription for cough syrup. I end up going to my doctor, and she confirms its an sinus infection. Im still waiting on this cold she promised I would get! this place is a joke! I paid 100.00 to get seen here. I waited around 20 minutes in the back, the nurse practitioner came in and diagnosed me with a cold in 5 minutes! I wasted my time and money! I would give 0 stars if I could! People need to see real doctors when coming here not nurse practitioners! I got diagnosed with just a cold which I didnt even have but was promised by this woman that I would get one! I have yet to see this cold...😏 I definitely had sinusitis! My doctor confirmed, and treated me!

Had an appointment for 10:30 in the morning and despite arriving a couple minutes early to sign in, it still took them 40 minutes to call me back. Once I was taken back, the medical staff was extremely unprofessional and would abruptly leave my room for no apparent reason and would not return for easily 10 minutes. This happened probably 3 times before they even checked my blood pressure. Finally they conduct my COVID test which is supposed to take no time at all, yet I still waited alone in the room for an hour to receive rather useless information on how to self quarantine. Knowing I would not receive my results for a week, I asked a nurse if I was clear to go considering no other tests needed to be conducted and she was very rude and told me “we’re busy you need to be patient”. I will never as long as I live return to MEDcare, and if I could give 0 stars for their service I most certainly would.

This place is not run well at all.First and most concerning is that it’s filthy and there are severe HIPPA issues. We waited in a patient room where I heard a doctor in a room next door talking to two different patients and I was able to hear every single word, some of which I guarantee those patients did not want anyone hearing.Then, and I realize they cannot control the number of patients that come in, but our wait was quite lengthy for an urgent care in my opinion. We waited for over and hour and were never even seen, but I ended up needing to leave to pick up my other child from school. I didn’t think it would take so long or I would have gone somewhere else, of course. When I tried to find someone to tell them I needed to leave it was hard to even find staff around. I was told I would need to come back another day and would need to repay and resubmit all paperwork etc like we’d never even been there that day. I understand to some degree, but in a sense I’m not understanding why I can’t pick up where I left off so to speak in regards to their end of things. I understand needing to wait my turn again, but not the other things.I will never return here and will just drive further to go to another location if ever our family doctor cannot see us in a timely manor again.

I was seen on December 26, 2019. Waited about an hour with my 4 year old son. All the staff I encountered, however, seemed pleasant except for the actual physician that checked me out. When I was finally seen by Veronica Wactor she entered my room, introduced herself, asked what was going on with me, then abruptly and rudely yelled at my 4 year old to turn the phone off he was watching. I had already turned the phone down in the lobby, but it must’ve been to loud in her opinion. I asked my son to bring me the phone and as I was turning it off, she then stared loudly and rudely to “turn it down so I can hear myself think”. At that point I felt like she was very unprofessional and had an attitude that does not need to be in the presence of sick people. She proceeded to examine me an concluded that there wasn’t anything she could really do for me. She stated she couldn’t prescribe me antibiotics because I would need testing to know exactly what was going on which would take about 6 days to get back. I didn’t argue that because it made sense, but she didn’t even offer to prescribe me anything for pain after I stated I had body aches. I had to ask her for that. The whole time it seemed as if she was trying to get me out of there because it was closing time. After she left my room I turned my phone back on to start recording so I could show her employers how she was conducting herself, but I didn’t see her anymore that night. Another nurse entered to give me a shot and I took my prescription form and left. I followed up with a complaint to the corporate office shortly after. I have been seen at this location before in the past by another doctor and did not have this kind of experience. From reading other reviews about this same physician I will state again, Veronica Wactor is very unprofessional and does not need to be assisting patients. If you are seen by her at this facility, Record and Report your experience everywhere you can.

Got There About 8Mins After They Open, & Went to Sign In...As Im Signing in, Lady Came Out Saying a Technician Was On The Way So She Could Start Checking Us in Triage...I Finished My Sign in On The Pad, & It Said Something about 149-180min Wait Time...Like a 3 Hour Wait??? So I Asked the lady at the Desk, She Turns the Same Pad Around, & Tells me What I Read On the Pad Was Pretty Much What it Was...Seems They are Understaffed today or Something

They always look out for me and my family. Clean environment, Convenient. It may take time to be seen in the back because it maybe one doctor. They have to prioritize. Im not the only patient. The Dr sits down and talks to you. So if theres a wait please just understand its not personal.

I did my check in online, it was very simple and easy. They texted me about 15mins before my checkin time and told me I can make my way to the center and finish my checkin inside. The staff, especially the nurse and doctor was extremely nice, very welcoming and very helpful. My wait time was less than 15 mins. Also the waiting room area was clean and presentable. They have hand sanitizer at the entrance/exit.

They were very fast in my treatment and so kind to me. I was in so much pain and they were quick to get me an IV and medications to help. I will use them anytime I feel that again instead of the VA hospital. They listening and even provided prescriptions to get me through until I can book an appointment. Amazing service!

Not super impressed with this urgent care. The front desk lady was great, and even the man who helped us in triage was great. But the nurse practitioner (Veronica Wactor) didn’t have the best bedside manner. I brought my 3 year old in for a gash in the knee. I could see white when I wiped away the blood and, not being a medical professional myself, didn’t know if that meant it was deep enough to need stitches or not. It seemed bad to me & took a while to stop bleeding (until I applied butterfly bandages at home). So I though better safe than sorry, especially since it was on his knee and I wasn’t sure how to keep it closed and was concerned it wouldn’t heal properly or would become infected without proper medical advice. I took him to the urgent care on Garner’s Ferry & was seen super quickly. In triage when I mentioned how I saw white in the cut, the man acknowledged my concern nicely making a comment along the lines of it possibly being muscle or tendon. However he wasn’t a doctor and said the nurse would look and know for sure. He did not at all make me feel stupid for being there. But when we got to our room and the nurse came in, she took one look and said it wasn’t deep at all and wouldn’t need stitches (which is fine, I didn’t know so that’s why I was there). But when I made the comment about seeing white so I wasn’t sure and that’s why I came in, she chuckled and said “it’s just the layers of the skin” in a roll-your-eyes tone (as if I should have known that). My father-in-law was with me and asked her how deep his cut was and she seemed annoyed and it was the tone of her voice I didn’t appreciate as she answered “not deep at all” and proceed to chuckle again and tell us we didn’t even need to be there. She ended up putting a glue on the cut to keep it closed. But the whole time I was there I felt like I couldn’t talk to her without being made to feel like I was stupid. My father-in-law got the same impression, as did my sister-in-law who was also there with me. I had no idea how bad a cut it was, it was bleeding a lot & looked bad to me. Honestly if you could have seen the cut, you’d have taken your kid in too. But she made me feel like I was wasting everyone’s time by being there. Well that is her job & she needs to have a better attitude about it. I’ll try a different urgent care next time.

I had a couple of questions that I needed answers to, Ryan was so helpful! He answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. He was very knowledgeable and professional. Any time a doctor is needed is a stressful time. Ryan took the time to help me with my insurance and introduce me to the MEDcare urgent care. Everyone was really nice and professional here. I will definitely recommend to my friends. Thanks Ryan for being so great!

Every time I come to this facility I never am truly satisfied with my care so I end up going to the spring valley location. But last night I came because they had a 15min wait vs the 1.5hr wait at spring valley. Went and told them I thought I had the flu or a virus. They said I tested negative to flu and they prescribed me Claritin... went for second opinion this morning I tested positive for the flu but now I’m outside the window for meds to help. These test were taken a little over 12hrs of each other. Called to complain and the call ended as I was talking to the lady. Called right back and they didn’t answer

Check-in system doesnt work, online check-in doesnt work, ladies behind the desk dont know whats going on, they have one doctor, not safe inside, they require you to sit in a room with a lot of people for multiple hours to wait on your appointment during a pandemic!

The lady at the front desk was very nice, and the facility was very clean. All of the staff seemed very nice and all had good attitudes, even at a late hour on a Sunday evening, while there were a good number of patients waiting to be seen. My doctor though, seemed very busy, spoke to me very loudly (even though I was being seen for extreme ear pain) and was not extremely attentive to the things I told him. It was a late hour on a Sunday, so I understand being ready to go home, but I felt very rushed and left the office still in a lot of pain.

I’ve been trying to call and just ask if they do athletic physicals for 2 days!! Just cause they were close to me I kept trying. Well I couldn’t get any human to answer the phone even when I held on like auto answering service asked then just to be hung up on!! This went on for 2 days!! Needless to say I did drive a little further and got it done in 15 minutes!! Guess medcare don’t care about people

Ive been to this MEDcare on multiple occasions for severe asthma attacks and subsequent allergic reactions to antibiotics, and Ive left feeling so much better and so well taken care of. The triage at this center is efficient and friendly, and the doctors have always explained thoroughly to me not only what they want to do, but also their reasoning behind, as well as explanations for what to examine on follow-ups with my regular doctors. The entire facility also looks and smells clean, even at 8:30 PM, half an hour before closing. Highly recommend.

I had a great experience at the garners ferry location. I came in and out in less than 45 min. Chris was really helpful getting me an appointment for the same day to go see an orthopedic. One of the best urgent cares I’ve been. NEVER GOING BACK TO doctor’s care.
