Moving my mother in a retirement community has been the most challenging experience of my life. Wildewood Downs is the best retirement community in the area! Their staff is always friendly, professional, and goes above and beyond to make this tough transition easier. I appreciate all of the smiles and the community is absolutely gorgeous! I recommend this establishment to all of my friends and family! When my father needs to find a retirement community, I know that Wildewood Downs will be my first choice.

I have worked at Wildewood for 7 years now and honestly can say how much I love not only my job and co-workers but especially the residents. I have come to know most of them and seeing them in the hallway and speaking to them is the best part of my day. Wildewood Downs has also given me scholarships towards my education in pursuing nursing. I am a CNA and also do medical records now and every nurse I have worked with has been helpful, encouraging, and share their knowledge. I plan to stay here when I graduate. Truly is a great place to work!

Please stop responding to my daughter’s (Danielle) 1 review & comment! Your 1 response to her was sufficient. I had the experience & i would appreciate the appropriate proper & professional follow-up.....therefore, your responses should be to me, not my daughter, however, she is 1 of the eye witnesses to a number of medically negligent & unsafe practices of your facility!

Wildewood Downs is a very clean and well run senior living facility. They take great care of the residents and seem to take pride in doing so. The maintenance staff, specifically Chris and Harry, are a pleasure to deal with as well and they go above and beyond to serve all of the residents.

I’ve loved this community from the time I got here and there isn’t a single person here I don’t consider my family. I love it here a lot and I love everyone at Wildewood Downs!

This rehabilitation facility is awful. There is no clear communication with the staff. My loved one would request to be cleaned and request medicine and have to wait for three hours in pain while soiled. The social worker was somewhat helpful throughout the entire process, which is the only reason Im giving them one star. If you have a choice, do not send your loved one to this rehabilitation center.

My company, Angel Transition Services, specializes in working with seniors to help them deal with all facets of their physical property from downsizing and decluttering to packing, moving and setting them up in their new living accommodations at communities all over Richland and Lexington counties. Wildewood Downs is one of the top tier communities that offers all levels of care from independent to assisted living as well as memory care, rehab and skilled nursing. We have seen and worked in each of those levels. The whole community is wellaintained, the staff is pleasant to work with and helpful. Their menu is very good, as well. Julie and Gayle make an excellent marketing team and Emily is an outstanding move-in coordinator. Their chef and dining director are top notch and from what we have seen upon entering new units, their maintenance team does a great job. Terri, the Executive Director, is wonderful to work with and runs a tight ship.

I would like to compliment Chris and the facilities maintenance team at Wildewood Downs for showing exceptional care and compassion for their patients. I have worked at many elder care facilities, but none show the same attention to detail and willingness to do what it takes to provide a clean and safe environment for their patients as they do here. If you have a family member in need of care they would be in great hands with the staff at Wildewood.

I am the owner of Vickers Interior Services and I have had the honor of being awarded the custom tile renovations project at this facility.I have worked all over the country over the last couple of decades in many of the senior retirement facilities, and I have spent the last 14 months at this particular location since this is my home territory. This place is top notch in every aspect of Senior Care, from the gated entrance,to the well maintained landscaped grounds, to the onsite restaurant, very attentive front desk employees who are very diligent in taking every precaution to protect the residents and staff, by ensuring that anyone who enters the building is screened for Covid symptoms with a written questionaire as well as temperature check, and hand sanitizing stations which are located throughout the complex facility.Since Chris Porter took the reigns of the maintenance program, it has been on a steady course of even better improvement in all aspects.I am personal friends with some of the elderly residents that live here, and they are very happy and feel safe because of all of the safety procedures that are in place such as pull cord emergency beacons in every unit, doors stay locked at all times and there are many well trained professionals available at all times to assist anyone who may need help.I am very proud to be a part of the overall improvements that are taking place at Wildewood Downs. If anyone has a parent or sibling that is in need of a great place to live, you need to stop by and take a look around.

I am a contract nurse practitioner. I go to MANY facilities and see patients each week. I am amazed each week about this facility. Waaay back when I was in nursing school, we were told about ivory tower nursing, (how things SHOULD BE) vs the real world. THIS facility not only exemplifies ivory tower nursing, they go far beyond. I arrive at 8 am, and find all residents up, showered or bathed, enjoying community time ( Except in the time of Covid quarentine, when they are given individual activities in their rooms). The residents are so well cared for, the staff knows each resident by name and anticipate everything they could need or want from cloths,, activities, health care to the food. They have a restaurant where you find a menu, piano and even a bar! I have included a meal menu for February. This is not only a place I would put myself or a loved one, I would come here for vacation!

I came to Wildewood Downs Rehab after I broke my hip and couldn’t put weight on it to walk. The therapist helped me get my mobility back and showed me how to shower and dress myself easier with my restrictions. The PT and OT staff are amazing! The nurses and CNAs took very good care of me and checked on me often throughout the day and night. They are the sweetest people and they encourage you to get better every day. I decided to stay 5 extra days because of the great care and my fear of going home alone and falling again. I even paid out of my pocket when my insurance ran out. It was worth every penny!! The business office was very responsive and answered all of my questions even after I discharged. If I ever need rehab for anything else, this is the place for me!Thank you to everyone at Wildewood that helped in my recovery. I can’t thank you enough!!!

I am saddened to report how gut wrenchingly horrible this place is. My grandmother became a resident a few years ago, and it slowly went down hill, especially during the pandemic. When my grandmother fell ill, we went to retrieve her items and were horrified by the room. Trash everywhere, heater broken, smelled horrible, walls, wheel chair, and personal items were covered in some type of film (aka no one cleaning it).It is hard as it is to leave a loved one in an unknown place. This facility does not care for family like you would want or expect (particularly for the cost). They are extremely difficult to work with insurance, not communicative about what is actually happening, and over-all a headache to work with.Since the pandemic we did not feel sad Wiebe my grandmother there and have moved her to a new place. It has made a WORLD of a difference. Please do not take this post as a disgruntled customer as much as someone who feels ethically called to make sure you do jot leave your loved one there. It is not a life there.

I have worked with Wildewood Downs for several years now, and have worked with different Facility Managers throughout, but Chris Porter is one of the Best I’ve worked with. He is very proactive and always puts his homeowners first. He is a great person to talk to when things come up about work. Anytime there is an issue, he calls me immediately, and we put a plan in place, and take care of the situation. Even outside of work, if you’re feeling bad, you can always call him and he will find a way to make you laugh. I hope to work with him for years to come!

Sister lives in the assisted living section. very nice and caring people. The facility doctor is good and better than the one they used to have. The rehab section is pretty good too and they always work to get people back to assisted living if they have a hospital stay or end up in rehab. Nice to have everything in the same building.

Our family has been very happy with the service, staff & experience of having our parents live at Wildewood Downs. My father first moved to Assisted living at WWD in 2017 as it became increasingly difficult to care for him at home as he suffered from Lewy Body Dementia. The nurses, dining room staff, social activity directors and all those involved with the daily care of my Dad during his time in Assisted Living were exceptional and treated him with great respect, love and sincere care. My mother then decided to move into an independent 2 bedroom villa the following year and has greatly enjoyed not only being closer to her husband of 63 years but also be relieved of the daily stress of caring for a large home. She has said many times that she is thankful she is not alone in her big house anymore, the opportunity to eat with friends daily, play Bingo, enjoy a multitude of activities has helped during a time that loneliness can be overwhelming. As my Dad declined over his time at WWD, he did spend time in the hospital and WWD maybe it very easy for us to move him to rehab when he was discharged so that he could regain his strength before moving back to his AL room. For anyone that cares for elderly people, I will tell you that having the ability to move throughout different levels of care within one community is OUTSTANDING & an ABSOLUTE PRIORITY when choosing a place to live. We were blessed to have Dr. Lori Lord caring for Dad while he was in both AL & Skilled Nursing and couldnt have asked for better! You can find many Memory Care & Assisted Living facilities these days but once you need more hands on medical attention then your loved one is forced to move to another facility and often another change sets them back even further mentally and physically. Unfortunately, during the time of forced lockdown due to COVID-19, my Dads condition rapidly declined as we were unable to see him for 4 weeks but that was necessary for not only his safety but the safety of all residents and staff. It was hard but we totally appreciate all that WWD did to care for him and let Dad know that we missed him and loved him deeply. When it was obvious that he was nearing the end of his life, we were allowed to spend the last 18 hrs of his time on earth with him which I am forever grateful for. I truly appreciated the love & compassion that all of the staff that knew either of my parents expressed during this very difficult time of grieving. It has brought us great comfort knowing that Mom has also been living in a very safe, protected environment during the crisis of COVID-19. The Director, Terri Hutton has done an EXCEPTIONAL job of prioritizing the safety, well-being and health of the residents and staff that are needed to make WWD successful on a daily basis. Terri also does a marvelous job of communicating which I greatly appreciate as my mother doesnt use a computer, mobile phone or any modern device to communicate so its vital that I know whats going on in the community. Many residents do keep updated with the many emails that are sent to residents but for those that technology is a challenge, WWD also does a great job of ensuring that paper copies of all communications are readily available to residents. Personally, I cant say enough about Terri Hutton as she took on the role of Executive Director with great energy, a smile that will make anyone smile back as you cant help but be positive around her as she exudes compassion, kindness and sincere caring for those whom she takes great responsibility in providing for their positive living experience. She is a dedicated and very hard worker that sets the standard of expectations for the entire WWD community. I highly recommend you visit Wildewood Downs and take the time to talk to residents, staff and Terri so that you and your family can also make the right choice for your loved ones.

Wanted my husband transferred before he was there two hours. We had to hire sitters around the clock, because he was a fall risk. The nurses didnt check on him. They dont have a doctor available. My husband had to be takenby ambulance twice in four days, because of no medical person available. You pay REAL good money for nothing. No second chance. The staff didnt check on him.

Good rehab place! In-law had a long stay recently and we were all impressed with the attention and encouragement given. It was very busy and staff has a lot of patience with non-stop requests made to them at the desk all day. Med director good person and very sweet and nurses did the best they could with alot of patients. A couple CNAs seemed to hate their jobs but overall its better than other places in the area and we would use it again!

My wife is here for rehab. So far very unhappy about waiting for meds, getting her wound dressing changed and just all around communication issues. Today is Christmas, we informed them Friday and Saturday that we have plans so they would be able to accommodate our needs. Well its 10:20 Christmas morning and we are still waiting for her meds and wound dressing changed. Very unacceptable. Planning on having a meeting tomorrow with someone to raise hell. We are very unhappy with this place.
