Dr Rookwood is extremely thorough and takes time to get the whole view of a new patient. Asked lots of questions and really listened to me, which was great! The reviews on here gave me pause when I was researching for a new doctor, but I am happy to say they aren’t representative of my visit. Very pleasant female doctor and extremely nice facility.

My husband and I are extremely pleased with Dr. Rookwood. She is very thorough and highly intelligent. Were so happy to have found her since we are fairly new to the area.

*SHORT REVIEW* Dr. Rookwood was not very friendly, made me feel stupid and treated me like I was a possible drug addict even though the controlled substance (Xanax) my former primary Dr prescribed had not been renewed since DECEMBER OF 2017 (Thats 30 .25mg pills for the WHOLE YEAR folks). Im a real risk all right. The worst was her trying to re-diagnosis me when all I needed was to establish a new primary for my insurance and get a prescription renewal for my welbutrin. COME ON its such a common prescription! I got so uncomfortable with my appointment that about 10 minutes in I got up and left. Save yourself time and headache and go elsewhere!*LONG REVIEW* I debated on whether to leave a review or not but Im just so upset. It was my first time. I left my usual primary Dr because my insurance changed. Very sad!! Let me say that the place is very lovely and the front staff (Stephanie) was SUPER NICE and helpful. The wait was about 20 mins. (Mid afternoon on a Tuesday) Nurse was fairly friendly, took my weight and height then escorted me to the exam room. She asked why I was there and looked at my medication history. I take wellbutrin for anxiety, xanax as needed and tramadol for occasional extreme period pain. The nurse informed me that it was their policy not to write prescriptions for controlled substances and that I would likely be referred to a psychiatrist. That irked me since I have no desire to run around to tons of doctors and give out my hard earned money when what I have taken for years works well for me and I only needed a refill. I havent gotten any xanax or tramadol in a year (December 2017) Both were 30 pills and small doses ... no drug risk here! After explaining that I was most concerned with just renewing my welbutrin she went over this scale quiz about my mental health for the past 2 weeks.... mostly aimed at depression. I explained that I was not depressed, I have anxiety. She gives me a tetanus shot and then leaves the room. 30 MINUTES LATER.... Dr Rookwood enters, introduces herself and asks why Im there. So I explain that my insurance changed and I need to establish a new primary and get my prescriptions refilled. She goes on to say that some she wont prescribe. I would NEVER write a prescription for painful menses, your gyn should be taking care of that (I know what menses means but, really, you couldnt say menstrual pains or period?) Whats the xanax for?....I know its for anxiety but why do you take it? (For I dont know....anxiety?) Whens the last time you took your hormones? (My what, Im sorry?) Your estrogen and progesterone...your Tri-sprintec or your Mirena or whatever (Oh, my birth control; why didnt you just say so?) Blah blah blah. Finally I say, Mostly I just need my welbutrin renewed, can you do that? She starts going over the scale quiz about my mental health. I interrupt her and tell her the nurse just went over this with me. And I HAVE ANXIETY NOT DEPRESSION, and my medicine is helping! No, she didnt, this is different THEN proceeds to read word for word the exact same questions! (Felt like I was being treated stupid) After the 2nd or 3rd question I finally said, look, I dont need anything other then my prescription renewed will you do that? Nastily she replies, well I dont know you wont let me examine you to find out! In conclusion, I told her that I was extremely uncomfortable (I had been for some time) and got up and left. Managed to get my copayment back which I was not expecting. Wasted a good 1.5 hours of my day. STAY AWAY!
