I went to see Dr. Solis for a new prescription for both contact and glasses. First, the assistants helped me very well during the three eye tests before seeing the doctor, which allowed Dr. Solis to really examine what’s going on inside my eyes. He gave me an in-depth and informative description of what he saw. Throughout the usual eye exam, he taught me so many useful concepts relating to why I’m near sighted and what lenses are best for me! It’s like he gave me an easy to understand crash course that was fascinating to learn about. With Dr. Solis, he genuinely cares about your eye health and gives you the best tips to maintaining it. He even knew I had allergies in my eyes, explained why it happens, and gave me a eye drop solution to purchase on the side. Excellent service and really nice people!

I had an excellent experience with Rancho del Rey Optometry in Costco. The office was very clean, organized and efficient. I saw Dr. Solis, who spent a lot of time answering my questions and offered great advice, based on his incredible knowledge and experience. After the exam, I quickly chose a new frame and placed my order for new glasses which should be ready in 7-10 days. It was a 5 star appointment!

Appointments at Rancho Del Rey Optometry is a little different since the pandemic hit, but this is a great thing! Felt really safe being in the office, and the quality of service is top notch as always. Doctors and staff are really focused on top tier customer service. I wanted to say that Dr Solis is an exceptional doctor. I’ve been seeing him for almost 3 years now and I’m so happy I changed. I’ve seen several doctors in San Diego county and no one with his bedside manners and knowledge. The other doctors are good but don’t take the time to establish patient rapport. I’m the type of patient that asks several questions and he answers them without hesitation. He has state of the art equipment and they can fit you in for urgencies, a big plus for me. He helped he out one time that I scratched my cornea, he got me in and out. I was so happy and grateful to him. My family goes to him and I would highly recommend him to anyone. The other doctor that works with him is also good, she helped me once he was not there and I like her too. The staff is also very polite, this is very important because it says a lot. Dr. Scheck is very patient & thorough. She explains well & give recommendations . Staff are very accommodating & serious about sanitation. They give you another mask on top of your own & make you wash hands before doing any pre-test. I feel safe. Will definitely recommend them.

Kevin & staff do a super job. The eye exam process is thorough and Kevin is great about going over the results and educating me about the various complexities and structure of my eyes. My wife and I both enjoy our Costco eye exams and check ups. We tried the eye exams outside of Costco but feel the quality, care, and concern we get from Kevin and staff is better than our previous experiences. And, there is the convenience! One stop shopping!

My experience was great! It was recommended to come in 15 minutes prior to my appointment time to fill out paperwork so I did and helped with the flow. I did have to wait a little but it wasn’t a big deal. I saw their organization and cleanliness when they sanitized the used equipment. They made all their patients wash their hands before their appointments and provided surgical masks so they took their COVID protocols seriously which I greatly appreciated. Overall great service.

Experience during Covid - 19The check in was seamless and quick. They were educated on how to keep the office and their clients clean and safe. They provided a mask to wear in addition to the one you must be wearing upon arrival. Provides extra precautions for yourself as well as the workers. It was a very nice experience. My appointment was the first of the day, so no waiting. They had sent me the paperwork before the day of the appointment so I could complete it beforehand. The staff was friendly and the doctor was great. She explained what she was doing the entire time. It was done on a Sunday morning which was very convenient and being able to walk out their door and buy my glasses at Costco was wonderful too.

Although there was a bit of a wait for my appointment with dr Solis he went out of his way to ensure my prescription was spot on. Educated me on the health of my eyes and with the help of his assistant supplied me with a few weeks of my prescription contacts. It’s great to be his patient and how he spends his time with each and every one of his patients.

Great operation, great personnel. Kind of a pain wearing two masks getting your eyes checked because of the fogging, but they take their Covid protocols very seriously and I appreciate that.

I had an appointment with Dr. Anita Sheck and she was excellent. She explained the status of my eyesight based on the tests they did. I came from the appointment with a good understanding of my eyesight health.

During this Covid environment, I was extremely pleased to see a very thorough sanitation, from staff wearing scrubs, gloves, eye protection to makings patient wash hands, mask, etc.. Dr Solis performed a very thorough exam, to include a high tech ocular imaging which I have never seen (like a CT scan of your eye) checking eye layers for irregularities. He spent time reviewing and explaining the image, I highly recommend this exam. Staff was polite, friendly and caring. My appointment was right on time.

Your decision not to honor the full repair of the damage caused when accidentally one of your associates broke my newer pair of glasses, and after all my work to find the frames I wanted at a reasonsble price (only $49) plus all the time I had to wait to secure an appointment under the restrictions placed by COVID19 ....... was something I didnt expect, It took me by surprise. The question I asked myself is why save $95 at the expense of loosing a loyal customer ? COSTCO is in the business of distribution, it shouldnt by forcing customers to pay for things outside their control........it was a poor judgement call.

Dr. Solis is a rare eye specialist. He is extremely thorough and explains every detail of the eye exam and why he does things and whats the meaning behind things. I was really impressed with his expertise and knowledge. I have insurance that doesnt cover eye exams at his place but I prefer to have an exam with him because Ive been going there for a few years now and he does such a great job so I prefer to have consistency in my medical professionals. I would highly recommend doctor Solis if you want to have a thorough complete and professional eye exam.

I decided to make an appointment with Anita Sheck, OD. of Rancho Del Rey Optometry because I became so frustrated with the run around and the over-priced products they offer at my regular Healthcare provider.I expected a delay due to the current COVID-19 measures in place, but I was able to be seen fairly quickly.Anita Sheck, OD and her staff could not have been more professional, courteous and accommodating towards me. I am so pleased by the level of customer service received, way to go ladies! The eye exam was easily navigated and the results were explained thoroughly and to my surprise, it was enjoyable. Although I had recently seen an opthamologist (retina specialist), I needed to see Dr. Solis because I needed new contacts. I was so very pleasantly surprised at his state of the art machines and testing, as well as his patience, thoroughness and detailed explanations to my eye problems. He reviewed each xray and the ultrasound with me in great detail, explaining the holes in my retina as well as the cataract that was starting. He was much more thorough than the specialist I had seen and I was able to better understand my eye problem as well as the ramifications to certain procedures. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Solis to everyone, and especially to those that may have a more complicated eye health situation. If I could give him six stars, I would!!

The doctor was excellent however after being told I have cataracts I went home. Then I had a very urgent question for the doctor regarding my current prescriptions. The woman at the front desk refused to take a message and pass it along to the doctor.since Im nearly blind its super important that prescription is correct in the doctor never phone me back because the woman at the front desk was actually not interested and helping me with my sight my vision my daily existence.

I’ve been going to Dr. Solis for years. He is absolutely the best I’ve ever worked with since I’ve been wearing glasses since middle school. I fly back from Vegas every year because he’s the only one I trust with my eyes.

Dr. Kevin Solis is the most knowledgable and passionate optometrist I have ever met. Dr. Solis recommended a much better contact and glass eyewear approach than I have been doing for the past couple of years. Dr. Solis also uses the latest technologically advanced testing for diagnosis.The office was well prepared to handle COVID safety by giving brand new mask to each patient while wearing PPE gear including medical outer wear.I have been a contact/eyeglass wearer for over 20 years, and I have never seen a better optometrist.

I was highly impressed with the professionalism, and efficiency from all COSTCO employees at their optical service office. I was able to get appointments within 2 days, and I went back 3 times, with each of the second and third time at no additional cost, and the service was excellent.My major problem was my old prescription had changed and I couldnt work at the computer. The first prescription I got turned out to be the same as the second one when I went back, which were for both far and nearsightedness with progressive lenses.But at the computer there was little improvement, so I went back the third time, but this time I explained that the computer was the problem, which I should have done already for the doctor. She said I would need computer glasses, and they ordered the new glasses and called me the next day to tell me the new glasses were ready. So, I got a new glasses, and bingo, I could see the computer screen perfectly.I am so pleased, and for those three visits, I was not charged any additional fees. Of course, I had to pay for the new glasses, but throughout the process, I was treated very well by all the folks there at COSTCO. Thank you folks.Albert Reynolds
