My regular dentist was unavailable so I went to West End to get a chipped tooth fixed. They were able to schedule me ASAP and did a fantastic, painless job of repairing the tooth. It wasnt covered by my insurance but the out-of-pocket expense was reasonable and I was happy to pay for such prompt service.

My husband and I have been going to West End Dental for 7 or 8 years and we would highly recommend. Everyone is so friendly and professional and I wish all doctors offices could be run like this one. in the past year we have transitioned our three teenagers from their pediatric dentist to West End and each one has been a smooth and painless transition. The hygienists have a soft touch and Dr. Zander is so personable and hospitable.

West End appears to be running a scam. I wish I read all the other reviews before going.I recently moved to the area and asked if they accepted my insurance which covers 100% preventative. They said they did so I got a cleaning. Cleaning was fine, but when I got out they asked for $170 for the standard cleaning. Apparently they charge prices more than double what any normal insurance will pay and try to trick customers into paying it.I wont be paying this scam fee and wont be going back. Please take your business elsewhere. There are many other honest dentists in the area that are worth supporting.

First time writing a Google review and very unlike me but I had to share my experience with West End Dental recently. About two/three weeks ago I went in for a routine cleaning for my first time at West End and before proceeding with the cleaning I had the front desk and insurance rep check to ensure that West End was in-network. I knew my dental insurance definitely covers teeth cleaning and additional other items 100% so when the reps at West End Dental told me I was covered I was more than happy to proceed. When I sat down in the chair the hygienist could not have been nicer. We continue to go through the cleaning and they ask me about x-rays, I know my insurance covers x-rays but just to be safe I had them double check. After speaking with the front desk/insurance rep that I would be covered, they did, and they told me I was so I proceeded again.Now is where the terrible customer service comes in. Turns out that West End was not in network for my insurance and would only be covered for $150 out of a $400 bill. Once receiving the news from my insurance I immediately call West End as there had to be some sort of mistake as I was told numerous times I would be covered for all cleaning/x-rays completed. The rep at West End then goes on to tell me that it turns out whoever told me that was wrong and that West End is unwilling to credit me back any expenses incurred even though they admit it was their own fault. The best refund I was offered was $100 worth of tooth brushes and tooth paste or a credit to come back to spend more money at their facility to get a teeth whitening that I would also have to pay the remainder on. I understand this is a small business and and a full refund for the additional fees incurred might not be completely possible but $100 worth of toothpaste and toothbrushes is the best they can do!?I purposely switched from my other dentist to come here during the COVID pandemic to help a nearby smaller business. I can not be more disappointed in the service at this facility and it seems like this is a common issue as this is now their 3rd straight 1 star review. I have been attempting to get hold with the office manager for the past week but now my third attempt and another we will get back to you in 2-3 business day response.HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE UNLESS THIS IS SOLVED

Dont have to wait long. Am usually in the chair for a cleaning within a couple minutes of arriving so in and out in 45 minutes and they have TV you can watch so not boring. The staff is pleasant and professional. Have only had cleanings and x-rays so cant speak about any other procedures.

I recently posted a glowing 5 star review, but am changing that to a 1 star review due to shady business practices. I purchased a groupon for $63.20 (I think before tax it was $59) a month ago which included a Cleaning, X-Rays, and Exam. I cannot find on my groupon the valued cost, but its now $79 and valued at $503. Which is 6 times the cost give or take. That means at $59, mine should have at least been valued at $354 minimum.I received THREE bills in a month for $47.40. The prophylaxis-adult, bitewings, and periodic oral evaluation totaled $324. They only deducted $276.60. I know its only $47.40, but if additional treatments were performed on me that would have been an additional cost, or theyre doing treatments that would exceed the value of the groupon, it should be communicated with customers, which it WASNT. As a business owner myself, I have never charged more nor completed extra services that would exceed a voucher value without informing my clients first. Its gross, poor business practice, and I now know why people left 1 star reviews.I will not be paying the $47.40, and if they submit it to collections like other reviewers have stated, I will be reporting this business to the Federal Trade Commission and the BBB for bad business practices, as well as writing 1 star reviews on every platform, on multiple accounts.Do the right thing Westend. Reach out to me and make this right. Dont be that business.

For a place with such great reviews, I am so completely shocked that my spouse wasnt even given a chance to settle a very small bill from this dentist before they sent the measly $180 bill, immediately, to collections... Collections!?!? Really? How desperate. How low. The Pandemic lock down was 4 months ago, and were both unemployed. Even being unemployed, we had plans to pay in person at the next appointment. The dentist (which had been closed for 2.5 of the past 4 months) wasnt finished with her planned dental work. A follow up appointment was scheduled! How does this place benefit from ruining their patients credit? Wouldnt they be better off just getting paid at the the next scheduled visit? I work in Ophthalmology, and we might send our patients a statement, but NOTHING goes to collection until we are certain that all follow up appointments are no-call, no-show for at least 6 months, and thats only AFTER we re-opened. This is pathetic, and so petty. This dentist has no tact, courtesy, consideration, customer communication skills, ethics, understanding or financial management skills. They get an absolute Fail in business 101. So, Westend Dental, is it worth it?

I was a flight attendant during the time Covid-19 was already in full swing. I was furloughed from my job and everything was locked down and closed. But this dentist office who wasnt even opened decided to put me in collections for a mere $180. Are you kidding me?! How dare you?! How insensitive are you?! You werent even opened and we werent even allowed out of our homes due to the mandate of the city. I had one more appointment left, you couldnt wait till I came back to bill me in person?! You guys disgust me utterly and I feel truly betrayed and hurt by you.

Very pleasant experience. Staff is attentive, courteous and professional. My appointment began on time, the procedures were explained in detail and my questions were answered to my satisfaction.I recommend Westend Dental, especially if you may have a fear of going to the dentist. These folks will put you at ease and make your visit worth the while...but remember to arrive early, if you’d like to enjoy a great cup of coffee before your name is called..on time.

They are always very efficient and take the time to make you feel comfortable. My hygienist ensures minimal discomfort with my problem teeth. Referrals for special work have been outstanding as well. Flexible hours to boot. Twenty year patient and I don’t plan on changing.

Ill be honest, this was the best dentist visit Ive had as an adult. The staff is ultra friendly, the office cozy and they even have a little fridge full of cereal bars and beverages for patients while they wait. Once in the dental chair every procedure was explained in clear detail and confidence between myself and the technician was built. I was offered other services, but I never felt pressured or as though it was a hard sell-- it simply felt like I was being told there are options for x thing if I ever wanted it. The technician took high quality x-rays and photographs (with a super cool high-tech camera) of every one of my teeth and then checked if there were any problem areas of my gums. Ive never had this experience until Westend, but after a gum cleaning I was given a gel of vitamin E mixed with essential oils which made me wonder why other dentists werent incorporating the same step. Ive never even heard a dentist say essential oil let alone reveal they understood the practice and concept of it. I was into it. Overall, I felt my mouth was taken care of... so Ill certainly be back. Do yourself a favor and show your pearls some love by going to Westend.

I haven’t been to the dentist is quite a while... but I was referred to West End Dental and decided to give it a go! Finally, I have found a trusted dental office with great staff! I will be joining them for more visits and continuing my journey to a healthy smile!

My husband as been coming for Westend his entire life, so when we moved to Chicago I knew I had to come here! There is a reason this was his family dentists: the staff is kind, hygienists are wonderful, and dentists are experts in the field. Not to mention, they offered me a free cleaning before our wedding! Westend will continue in our family for years to come.

I had my first appointment with them this morning and they were incredibly friendly and thorough with everything they did. They use the highest quality tools and its obvious that theyre experienced and talented. I dont have the greatest luck with my teeth, but I feel confident that this dental practice will get me to where I want to be! Cant imagine going anywhere else.

Definitely one of the best dental offices in the city. Highly organized, super professional in a relaxing environment. I had a chance to meet the manager Sylvana, such a great understanding person. Also with the head assistant Lucy, who was very knowledgeable and kind. Dr.Zander also was very gentle and considerate. Front desk ladies were very welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend them and have referred many people their way. Westend is on the cutting edge of dental technology and always informs you of the new procedures - all to your benefit. I enjoy coming here and even remained a customer when I moved to Pennsylvania - thats how good they are. Others have commented on issues with billing, but being a 20-year customer, Ive never had a billing issue. I suspect the complainers heard what they wanted to hear and didnt actively listen when the charges were being explained. Thats shouldnt reflect poorly on Westend because they are awesome.

Growing up I always hated the dentist. After leaving home at 18, I put off going to the dentist for almost 10 years because I had had such a miserable opinion of them. Eventually I sucked it up and luckily found Westend Dental.Westend Dental makes the experience as pleasant as possible. They have a nice, updated facility and a wonderful and accommodating staff. I no longer dread dentist appointments and have recommended them to several of my friends.I have also used them for Invisalign and teeth whitening (they used the Zoom brand of teeth whitening). I was very happy with my Invisalign. I personally did not like the Zoom whitening. I felt it didnt whiten evenly and my teeth came out looking a bit splotchy. They had also given me some bleach whitening that I liked much better.Highly recommend if you are looking for a great dentist in the area.

The dental care is very good and the office is very professionally run. Sometimes I would like to feel that all Im doing is going to an appointment for the care I need and not feel like I have to buy items. I was also disappointed with my bill due to a mistake on their billing end. I did not expect to pay what I had to especially because I had specifically checked with them about the cost my appointment.

I wish I could give no stars. HORRIBLE, DECEITFUL sales tactics to keep you on till the work is done. PLEASE LOOK ELSE WHERE!! I am at a loss of word on how disappointing it is to want to support a Neighborhood Dentist and lose trust in them immediately. First thing out the gate they tell you they take your insurance. OH your good we except that insurance!” exact words. Well thats true, but they are not a networking dental office. My insurance will only pay 10%-20% BUT WEST END DENTAL TELLS YOU AN ESTIMATE BASED ON NETWORKING/BEST PRICING. Then you get a bill 30-60 days later for the rest.They also recommended a specialist, who I thought would be in my Network as well... they werent so of course their recommendation wasnt, come to find out after I’m discovering whats going on, my insurance told me the $700 in work I paid out of pocket for their recommended specialist would have been 100% covered by any one in network.This is so deceiving in my opinion and of course they can get away with it because it’s an estimate but it was clearly off in my case by a total of $840 (cleaning $340 and fillings $500) and $700 (other doctor)!!! I would have looked for another dentist or new insurance if that was the case!

Great staff. Make it easy to see a dentist and they are friendly and efficient.

Very clean and well run office, however it should be noted that they are Out of Network for all insurance policies. When I called to set up an appointment as a new patient I made a point to ask whether they would take my insurance. They said yes, without bothering to point out that this simply meant they would file a claim with my PPO, NOT that they are in-network providers. I found this deceptive in the extreme, as most rational people would understand my question to mean whether my dental insurance would be picking up the bill. (Why else pay for dental insurance?) In the end I was stuck with a bill more than three times what I was expecting to pay. Word to the wise: only set up an appointment if you are willing to spend $$$$ for routine cleanings/examinations!

Unfortunately, this is just another ploy for business. The number of dentists I have been to that end up giving you a sales pitch and try to convince you of why its necessary to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on preventative care is ridiculous. I feel like the visit circulates around how much money they can suck out of you. I am someone who does take good care of my teeth, so its unfortunate when they instill fear in you that you have serious issues with oral hygiene but overlook the fact that these are extremely costly procedures.

I tried Westend Dental because I have lived in the neighborhood all my adult life, and I have seen this dental office forever! Dr Fiore and all his people could not be better at what they do!!! I have multiple problems with my teeth and Dr Fiore has been super patient and gentle and expert at what he has done for me so far, and extremely clear and concise at what he recommends as a course of action in the future. I hope to be Dr Fiores patient now for the duration, and I will follow, without question, his advice. Cheers to a very long and successful relationship!!!

Highly recommend Dr Fiore and staff!! I got 2 veneers there recently, and bonding on one tooth, and am very happy with the results. I mostly appreciate how cooperative and collaborative Dr Fiore is— he was always asking for my opinion during the whole process, and I feel like I got to help design the look of my teeth now, which is exactly what I wanted :) Their staff is amicable and easy to get along with, which I like alot. Their practice uses sophisticated technology and is very contemporary. 5 stars!!!!

Ive been coming here for years for my cleanings, but this summer I got enamel microabrasion done to get rid of the white spots on my teeth that I got from having braces. My experience was awesome. The price was extremely reasonable, and it covered as many in-office visits as needed to get the best possible results. The staff is very friendly (especially the woman that did most of my in-office procedures, thank you Magalay!!) and you can hear Dr. Fiore and the rest of the staff teasing each other and laughing while you get your teeth worked on. Its a very friendly, comforting environment. I would highly suggest getting micro abrasion here!

West End Dental insisted on taking additional x-rays even though I already had recent x rays on file. They clarified that the entire expense would be covered by insurance. Of course the costs were not covered by insurance and I ended up with a big out of pocket expense. They were not willing to work with me in reducing the charges for unwanted and unnecessary x-rays and made no attempt to retain me as a client.

They are great. Always on time, efficient, and friendly. Ive been going here for over 5 years. I recommend Westend Dental 100%.

Im new to WestEnd Dental so this is based off my initial appointment. The office seems to be very well run, and all staff have great communication. The hygienist did a great job keeping me informed during the appointment so I didnt get lost trying to keep up with the dental shop talk. I also liked that they gave me a tour of the office during for my first time there. They seem to pay attention to detail, and really take time to make sure patients are happy.I also have a unique name, which Ive gotten used to people pronouncing incorrectly. I usually correct people one time and then let it go from there, but every person I talked to at WestEnd Dental asked how to say my name, and said it right every time from then on... I know thats a very small detail, but its actually impressive to me as its not the norm. So kudos to the team for making my first experience a great one.

What a great experience, except for all the drilling.I recently had to get a filling due to some tooth grinding and usually use a prominent dental office on Michigan Ave near my work. I was told there that my dental coverage would not cover the filling as there was no cavity. I decided to use Westend Dental to have the work done as many of my friends have recommended them as being more trustworthy than their competitor near my work.When I showed up for my appointment I was blown away. Based on experiences at other dentists Id made sure to bring some work along to keep me occupied during the expected waits. I barely got to touch it. After filling out the necessary paperwork I was taken back and seated quickly. The hygienist was already there to prep me, and introduce me to the TVs they have set up over the chair. I opted to do work in-stead but Dr. Zander was in right away. The only wait I had all day was the few minutes for the Novocain to do its thing.He took a quick look at my problem spot, then pulled a magic wand off the counter and voila, he had pictures of my teeth up on the TV to explain exactly what he was going to be doing. He discovered a little decay after he started drilling and was able to show me that as well (good thing I got a second opinion). My old dentist didnt even show me the X-rays. Turns out the TVs and wireless headphones are great for passing the time while Dr. Z was doing his work; it beats the pants of counting ceiling tiles, pretending your going toward the white tunnel of light or trying awkwardly not to stare at the dentist while hes in your mouth.While Id definitely prefer to never have another drill in my mouth, at least I know where to go if that doesnt work out for me.Thanks Dr Z,James

Painless--and rather enjoyable--was my visit today to West End Dental! Megan, my newly assigned RDH (i.e., Registered Dental Hygienist), did a thorough and professional job cleaning my teeth and, upon her recommendation, Lily applied a fluoride treatment. Since I am a new patient at WED, I appreciated the time Megan took with me, explaining procedures and options (such as the fluoride treatment to prevent gingivitis). The staff at the front office/desk area are very friendly, welcoming, and helpful.

I had heard good things about this practice and it is close to my home so I thought I would try it. The $99 first time visit fee was also a draw.The Victorian facade of the building in which the office is located belies the modern, extensive facilities located inside. The exam rooms are clean, uncluttered, and appear recently renovated. The cutting edge equipment used throughout the exam expedited my visit. It also made me more comfortable.It was fascinating to see the x-rays and photos of my teeth/mouth on the large TV screen. I actually learned a few things about my teeth because the hygienist and DDS actually took time to answer all of my questions and used visual aids in the process. Very helpful.My cleaning was fast because the hygienist used a special water injecting scraper before she used the manual ones. Cleanings can be long, unpleasant, torture sessions, but this one was not. I can’t remember her name, Kesha?, but she was really good. Efficient, engaging, kind, and fun.The dentist, Dr Fiore, is a mensch. Avuncular. He clearly loves what he does and he made me feel valued.Overall, I was pleased.I deducted one star for the following.1) Parking is nil. Take public transportation.2) I found that everyone was often too helpful. It was smothering. Officious (google the definition!). It seemed contrived. Fake. Phony. I wanted to tell them to back off and to stop trying so hard.3) Each employee marches around with an earpiece so that they can request help or stay apprised of what? I don’t know. I found this disconcerting. It’s a dental practice. Why do they need such a creepy method for communicating with each other?I felt that it interfered with the hygienist’s ability to literally hear what I was saying which made it impossible for het to listen to me. You can’t separate the different dialogs running through each ear. It’s not humanly possible. Listening to me, the patient, is more important. Plus, I could hear the chatter from the earpiece. TMI and unprofessional.4) The practice seems to use lots of in-your-face gimmicks to drive new business. They have a door county gig that can win if you send new clients their way. To advertise this gimmick, they have set up a partial bed with a breakfast tray in the waiting room. It is ugly and tacky and please tell me why it’s needed. It takes up the entire space, leaving few chairs in which to sit and wait.4.5) A waiting area should have at least two things to be comfortable: access to the restrooms and universally comfortable chairs for waiting. Good reading materials, beverages, and/or a TV to watch are great additions. The Westend waiting area is small, cluttered, uncomfortable and unappealing. I bet it’s freezing during the winter. Good thing I didn’t have to wait long.5) The patient care coordinator, Tiffani (with an “i” rather than a “y”) seemed quite capable of performing her duties. She was very pleasant and efficient and almost too helpful. She was good at her job. Her teeth, however, are terrible advertising for a dental practice. They are discolored, likely from antibiotics, and crooked. When interacting with her, I couldn’t focus on anything else. Why isn’t she getting treatment? My hygienist also has really crooked teeth. Again, bad advertising.Appearances matter in an appearance business. Dental health goes way beyond the cosmetic, but straight, white teeth are the gold standard so shouldn’t those who represent the practice have Hollywood caliber smiles?It’s like going to a cobbler with mangy shoes.6) THEY HAVE NO FEMALE DENTISTS. I am not sure if I will go back to the practice because this is really important to me. Shame on me for not asking. I was too enamored with the $99 cost.This could be a deal breaker for me.I will update it deemed appropriate.
