The staff was competent and caring. The food was very good. The occupational therapy and physical therapy were excellent. My only complaint would be that between leaving the hospital and the Clare and home my vintage shoes were lost. There was confusion between home health and the Clare, but it was easily resolved. I loved the view from my room.

My mother lived here for four years, the last two of which were in the memory care unit. She had outstanding care and it was very easy for me to work with the staff regarding everything that concerned my mother’s well-being. I so appreciate the tender guidance and professionalism at the Clare.

I went to work at this place through another company and one of the nurse had a very nasty attitude because she didn’t want to help me with the client which is what I was told to do (care plan)not to mention this was my first time working with someone in her condition which is why the nurse was to come and help. I was told to just FORCE her to get up FORCE the food in her mouth because she had other patients to worry about………..With that being said I only gave a star because I like the client and I feel sorry that she have to go through being in a place that the staff/nurse doesn’t want to do their job to care for her and I wouldn’t want my loved ones in there……..And if I could contact her family to inform them of the nasty behavior/attitude I would but luckily it’s not my place.

I will forever love and be extremely grateful for the superior staff, support team and the residents of The Clare. My mother has been a resident in the rehabilitation on two occasions (Nov 2014 & Oct 2015) and each one brought her to maximum capability status post, torn rotator cuff and total knee replacement. I have recommended the facility to EVERYONE who seek superb; nursing, physical and occupational therapy, nursing support, nutrition, extracurricular event coordinators, and support staff in an elegant and highly equipped atmosphere. As someone in the medical field...I have NEVER experienced a more efficiently / effectively run facility and in the most friendly / supportive environment. Please let me not forget the wonderful staff greeting you at the entrance or the security. Always with smiles, laughter and the willingness to lend a helping hand or sympathetic ear. Thank you to all at The Clare who took amazing care of my beloved (yet feisty😖) mother during her stays. See you again!!!!!!! A+++++++++++++++++

The physical and occupational therapists, the RNs and CNAs gave me excellent care. The staff was dedicated to helping patients, and I appreciate all they did to help me recover from 5 consecutive hip replacements. My doctor, on staff at NWM where I had my surgeries, was outstanding. Dr. McCoy was committed to my wellbeing and to helping me recover and resume my life.

Giving this place one star was generous. My mother was transferred from NWMH for rehab after a fall. The first night they sent her back to the ER claiming that they could not get an oxygenation reading on her. The paramedics were able to get a reading and it was 100%. She went back to the ER where it took all night to find her a room. She is 83 years old and has congestive heart failure. In my opinion, they just did not want to be bothered with a complicated patient. They put my mothers life in jeopardy just because they did not want to be bothered.

A huge, round building serving the elderly in the heart of Chicago. I was impressed with this building and it looks beautiful at night as well.

Its so hard to hear the EMTs ask me questions during this epidemic when you have so many hyenas at the front desk who shouldnt even be there laughing so unprofessionally.

Excellent location near Millenium Park, Goodman Theater,Orchestra Hall, Lyric Opera,Steppenwolf Theater, and a multiplex movie house.Walking distance to Sinai Temple,Holy Name Cathedral,Fourth Presbyterian Church,St. James Cathedral and Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Medical School.Excellent staff and a chef that cares about and listens to the residents.Above all, there is a camaraderie that permeates the entire environment that includes residents as well as staff.Since the financial problems have been removed this joint is really jumping. I have been here four years.
