Been waiting a year to see an eye doctor due to negative past experiences… today we found Crowder Eye Center and had an incredible experience! From the wonderful greeting when we walked in, to the ease of filling out paperwork and all the way to the exam and finally picking out frames… everything was exceptional. This is truly the friendliest staff we’ve ever encountered. They are also the most efficient without us feeling rushed at all. 5+ stars!

The staff and Dr. Crowder are always so pleasant and caring to work with. My appointment was easy and painless, with minimal time in the waiting room. I won’t go to another eye doctor. Dr. Crowder and his staff know their stuff!

Once I visited him and saw how knowledgeable he was, I decided Id never go anywhere or to anyone else for my eyesight. On a vacation to Florida years ago one of my lenses ripped. I called the office and they rush delivered to me a new lens! They treat me as if I were family and get me the product I need, working with the insurance company to get it paid. I sincerely trust, respect and appreciate Dr. Crowder and all of his terrific employees!I have TERRIBLE eyesight, so much so, that a new assistant there Id not seen before thought my exam readings couldnt be right, until she checked again! But Dr. Crowder has taught me a lot about why my vision is so bad, and has provided me the custom lenses that help me see the best I can!

This is by far the best eye care center in town, it has all the technology to keep you informed and the practice informed about your eye health. The people that work there are very nice and the Doctor (Adams) that my experience was with is knowledgeable and informed. I would/will recommend to everyone I know.

We have been patients at this office for almost 4 years now. The staff is pretty good and Dr. Crowder is my FAVORITE! He has been thorough over the years. He has a passion for this and there is no mistaking that he puts his everything into this office, staff and the care for his clients. Another thing that I appreciate is that the office was consistent when we had major insurance and when our family was in transition and no insurance. I was impressed but mainly grateful. I will never seek another optometrist in this lifetime. Dr. Crowder is an honest man with a great personality. He cares about his patients and only wants to give the best care. The staff is great and in fact they thrive to improve with each visit. They put up with my sarcasm and even play along. They are the most friendly and informative staff I have met. The services we received today was great. My 3 year old son had an appt and as we all know dealing with young kids is never easy. The staff and the doctor was great and patience. They were able to get what they needed and never showed frustration when dealing with my son. We will be back.

I am new to wearing eyeglasses on a daily basis. I have progressive bi-focal lenses that were bothering me when I picked up my eyeglasses. I went back the next day to see if something was wrong with them. It turns out that they just needed an adjustment. I can see far more clearly now that Jeannie assisted me with this matter. I am glad that Crowder Eye Center has a talent such as Jeannie to pick up on such a small detail instead of going all out looking for a major issue or looking to make excuses. I have been going to Dr Crowder for a couple of years, and have been very pleased with him and everyone in the office. I have an astigmatism and he has been able to fit me for contacts so I don’t have to wear glasses to drive. He has taken very good care of my eyes and I could not be more pleased.

He explained everything in terms we could understandThey had a large selection of frames covered under our insurance allowance and while our insurance does not cover all our must haves, the cost was reasonable.We cant wait to pick up our new glasses

Dr Crowder and his staff were very sweet and helpful to my 93 year old father yesterday. My father cant hear well and has a genetic eye disease which makes him have very poor vision. Dr Crowder was good to explain everything to us and do multiple tests to try to obtain the best possible vision for my father.

This office and Dr. Crowder are simply amazing! So is the whole staff! They have helped me with my years long problem of dry eyes, and are great with my whole family’s array of eye issues which include ocular rosacea, astigmatisms, dry eyes, special prescriptions and more! Ive been going to Dr Crowders office now for several years and each year look forward to my visit. All the office staff are super friendly and sweet, the ladies working in the frames section are a hoot and go out of their way to make sure you are not only getting a good deal, but that you find the frames that look perfect on your face and fit like a glove. Dr Crowder himself could not be more friendly or knowledgeable about your eyes. Im always impressed with what I learn while I am in there with him about my vision and how it may change. His recommendations for lenses have also helped my vision dramatically especially when it comes to sitting at a computer all day. I literally could not recommend this place more and would encourage everyone in the Chattanooga area to give them a shot!

Sheila explains the tests she is performing and answers your questions confidently. Sheila also takes her time during the tests to ensure accuracy. Had been with Dr. Dzik when he brought on Dr. Crowder. Was initial worried about the change. At first his manner and professionalism was similar to Dr. Dzik. But over time, especially the last three years the changes he has made has taken the office from one of the top in chattanooga to just another mill of trying to get as many patients thru as possible. Had the worst experience at the office today. Recent years visits it was always something wrong. Like wrong prescription sent in for new glasses. New persons always the first you see to take pressure check on eye and photo. Glasses misaligned on measurements for bi-focal for me and tri-focal for my wife. Forgetting to send in daughters glasses to get new prescription. This is all in past 3 years. Was an outstanding place before that. So good that my two oldest daughters would come back from clarksville, tn to see him. Not anymore due to lack of quality personnel and mistakes and not feeling valued as a customer. Kudos to the front office lady and to sheila, for all your efforts and for being the best at what you each dueyou to will be missed. As we are changing Doctors.

He is an “I’m here for you” optometrist and never tries to push you into a product you aren’t certain about.The entire staff is friendly and helpful and no one pushes you out of the door without your needs met just to get to the next patient. We had a very good visit at Dr. Crowder’s! He’s very thorough and patient. What’s notable about our visit is that his office specializes in CRT lenses, or known to us as Ortho-K. My DD has been wearing it for 5 years and it has done a wonderful job keeping her myopia under control. If you have a child predisposed to high prescription nearsightedness like mine is, please check out this option. We moved from AL and need a specialist who can continue prescribing CRT(Ortho-K), and after doing research we found out only two places in Chattanooga can offer it. We called the other place first but it doesn’t take our insurance. We are happy we found Dr. Crowder instead!

I took my 3 year old in for an exam because she was complaining of eye pain. Dr Crowder was so nice and made her comfortable. She wasnt afraid of him and had an overall perfect experience. We were in and out in 30 minutes!

I cant begin to describe the deep appreciation and admiration that we feel for Dr. Crowder and Mrs. Virginia at the Crowder Eye Center. In spring of 2019, my 8-year old daughter, who has worn glasses since she was 3, started complaining of problems with her vision and would often cover one eye with her hand as she spoke to us in the evenings. Her previous eye doctor did not detect that anything had changed with her sight, however, he suggested that I may want to check into some vision therapy for my daughter. Therefore, I made an appointment with Dr. Crowder, and upon a very thorough examination, he discovered that at certain distances, her left eye would just stop working (my terms)... that her brain would switch and start using her right eye only. However, Dr. Crowder and Mrs. Virginia (the eye therapist) were optimistic that with vision therapy her brain and eyes could be trained to start working in unison again. And now, here we are, 1 year later, and my daughter has just been released from vision therapy. She can now boast that her eyes are working perfectly, as they should! And this is all because of Mrs. Virginias work with my daughter each week, the home exercises, which were tailored specifically to my daughters condition, that were assigned for us to do at home, and the thorough examinations that Dr. Crowder performed on my daughters eyes periodically throughout the year. Not only did my daughter enjoy these weekly therapy sessions, but she actually looked forward to them! Mrs. Virginia is such a joy to be around. She is so very patient, kind, and calm, and Ive never seen her without a smile on her face. She made my very shy daughter immediately feel at ease, comfortable and safe. But what amazed us most about this experience was how vision therapy has improved my daughters life! My daughter has always been a reader, but now, she devours books. She says it is so much easier for her to read, as well as play the piano. She has also found that she is not exhausted (nor as cranky!) in the evenings as she was before, and Ive not heard the phrase in many months Whew, Mama, I need to go let my eyes rest. Vision therapy has greatly improved the quality of my daughters life, and for that, I thank Dr. Crowder and Mrs. Virginia. Their expertise, their care, and their kindness has been such a blessing to my daughter, to me, and to our entire family. We thank the good Lord above for leading us to Crowder Eye Center. It has GREATLY blessed our lives in ways that words cant express!
