Been going to balance for a long time and under new ownership it is better than ever. Absolutely ran like a dream. Clean as can be, machines are all in great shape. Lots of options as well so from amateur to veteran you can get a great session in. Its truly the best gym Ive ever been a part of and Ive been apart of quite a few. Cant recommend enough 👍

Found this little gem of a gym last year when Covid hit. It has been a great place to destress from everything that is going on, while improving my physical (as well as mental) health. Membership fee is very reasonable and the have a great selection of equipment.Staff and members are very supportive and personable - I havent found many gyms where everyone knows each other by name!The owners are also very involved and make you feel like family. They just added kickboxing classes a few months ago, which are a fantastic workout!I would highly recommend this gym if you are looking for a great workout without all the extra glam 😉

I love working out here! Brooke is a great trainer and Alex at the door is always welcoming and friendly. The bathrooms are very nice and clean and everyone does a great job of cleaning what they touch.

As far as I’m concerned, there is only one gym in Castle Rock and this is it. New ownership is fantastic (every negative review here is pre-transition) and the gym is always updating their equipment and responding to its members. Keep an eye on these guys; they are a true, local turnaround story. Accommodations are clean and I swear only the most human of folks in our community are members here. This isn’t one of those meat lockers that attracts those you hate to share a gym with. In the last year, I have personally gotten to know six people who walked in the door having never really committed to exercise as a means to get healthy who are now in fantastic shape because they found a family (owners and other members) who genuinely care about them and their experience. I’m one of those folks. If you’re uncomfortable about joining a gym; this is the one for you. If you are looking for a highly marketed, over-programmed, impersonal experience where the color of the towels match the equipment... there are plenty of gyms to choose from. If you want to join a diverse group of men and women who link arms on their journey to health; welcome home!

All around great place - owners are solid people. Good equipment, not too crowded but still a feeling of community from everyone here.

My wife and I went to drop-in at this gym in Castle Rock after not having our gyms in Colorado Springs reopen since COVID-19. We both spoke with the woman on the phone the day before we traveled north to Castle Rock and she explained everything very nicely.When we arrived she explained the procedures and was very nice and personable.The gym itself is nice and cozy. It has everything you want and is very clean and everyone of their members are wiping down the equipment as well.This is a fantastic gym that I would highly recommend in Castle Rock. If I lived in Castle Rock, this would be my gym.

This business has recently changed ownership. The previous guy who sat at the front desk who was extremely rude is no longer there. For all those previous member who left because of him, come back.The new owners are awesome. Its still a good place to work out and not over crowded.

I have been a regular member of Balance Fitness since 2010. Balance Fitness has everything I need to stay active. I mostly enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the great group of regular members. I feel no pressure or need to prove anything to anyone at the gym. I love the diversity of members, and I am energize and motivated to exercise while never feeling self-conscious about how I choose to exercise. I also like that I can get advice from experts about fitness and equipment without be hounded or pushed. The relaxed, diverse environment at Balance fitness works perfectly for me, and I can confidently reach my fitness goals each time I go.

I used to love this place, but it has gone down hill since the new manager took over. He is very rude and unapproachable. You would think someone in the customer service industry would smile and be polite to people. However, this guy seems disgruntled. I’ve also heard him speak negatively about the owner, Chester, around the gym.I tried to reach Chester to speak to him about the manager, but he never responded to me. Overall, I’ve experienced pretty bad customer service here.Additionally, the parking lot and building are dilapidated. For what you get, the gym is overpriced.Since our bad experience with the manager, we are going somewhere else.

Anyone in Castle Rock looking for a gym, go to Balance Fitness by the Laundromat and McDonalds. New owners, renovations, great atmosphere and equipment, AND one of the owners, Chris, owns a couple of Max Muscle stores and is putting one right in the gym! I signed up with Narvel (another owner) and he was professional and courteous. AND THEYRE OPEN 24 HOURS!!! Which is great for me because I love my morning workouts. Les gooooo.

Ive investigated every gym in Castle Rock over the years. Balance Fitness is where I call home. Its your local neighborhood place to feel comfortable with all the equipment you could possibly need. Seems like everyone knows everyone else if you want to socialize for a while or just get down to business and work out. The great thing is you can let yourself in any time of day or night which is perfect for those with a busy schedule. Always clean and tidy with a nice constant temperature. You just cant go wrong here!

Recently moved to Castle Rock. Cancelled my membership at 24 hr because I’m not paying additional upfront membership fees to use a “sport” location. I actually found Balance Fitness based on a recommendation from one of the front desk ladies at Planet Fitness because it’s where she goes to “lift real weight.” I found that entertaining.The gym is a modest size but has every machine and free weight I need. Love the squat rack location. The premises is kept clean and neat at all times. You can actually take a shower here without wanting to soak your feet in bleach which is refreshing. I don’t understand the folks who are terrified of “meat heads.” Just stay home if you’re scared. This is a small gym and most people tend to smile and say something friendly if you happen to exchange glances. I’ve had zero negative experience at Balance Fitness and I’m happy to support a successful privately owned business.Thank you for being my place of meditation and progress, Balance Fitness!

I have been going here for 7 years and may start looking elsewhere. Management has no customer service. Recently my card expired and they charged me a $15 fee. Granted that is my responsibility but after 7 years of being a loyal customer you would think they would consider waiving that.Also called a month ago about adding my son to my plan. No call back from the manager.Update: Balance Fitness called and offered to waive the $15 fee. They said they usually always waive this on the first occurrence. Updated the rating and back enjoying the gym.

I used to really like this place - lovely owner and trainers, good location, nice equipment, etc. However, the new manager is extremely rude. Like, totally shocked me with how unpleasant he was. Pretty disappointing. He is the sole reason why my family and I are looking for a new gym now...

I like Balance Fitness. Always people working out but not crowded. Friendly, Clean and has a towel service. Plenty of equipment. Unlike other places,the music isn’t so loud that you can’t use your own headphones. Also, Stu their trainer is great.

We have been coming here for almost 10 years. There is a good variety of cardio equipment and weight training machines. It is not overly crowded and most members are friendly. The cost is very reasonable. Personal training is available if you want it.

Owner is a great with taking care of his clients. Equipment is great! Some of the staff should follow his lead in being better to the customers.

I used this gym for about a year before leaving, and deemed it appropriate to wait until then before pushing out a review. Possibly like you, I noticed the seemingly convenient plans and locality of this location to be the two main draws. I will speak on those later.I will list pros/cons of my membership here.BENEFITS:•Inactivity. This gym was rarely crowded, save a Saturday morning, so I never had to share a lot of equipment. If youre...not where you want to be, health-wise, then this could be a place for you to workout with little judgement. Because theres few people there, especially at night, and the ones there are mostly normal individuals rather than the protein-pounding gym rats who flood other locations.•True, 24-hour access. I could come at any hour of the night and use the facilities, take a shower. No one cared. I did run into the owner once but he didnt seem to care. I think he lives upstairs.•Overall flexibility. When I travelled out-of-state for a few months, with enough notice management was able to pause charging my card for the months I would not be present. Most gyms probably wouldnt.•Cleanliness. Staff here upheld this value to keep floors, facilities, and equipment spot-free. My only qualm here was that the restroom always smelled like a stinky sock despite extra fans running 24/7.DOWNSIDES:•1-month cancellation charge. This seems like a sneaky way to guarantee another monthly renewal fee from a customer on their way out of the door. Balance Fitness claims they need at least 30 days notice to remove a card/profile, but I work in customer service and know this is not the case. I dont like it.•Strict visitor policy. They really cracked down on this. The rule used to be something like bring a friend once a month until they changed it. This almost prevented me from signing on, because I couldnt get in the door to request membership!•Not countrywide. For those who thrive upon supporting local businesses, this bullet belongs in the first category. However, for me, I travel, and I need gym access across the US more than I need to give money to Castle Rock businesses. This is primarily why I left.Overall, it was an OK little local gym. The owner, Chester, is also like a biochemist or something, and was relatively approachable if I had questions or requests. Sadly in the end this wasnt the gym for me, maybe it will be for you.

The best gym in Castle Rock to work out at!

Made a complaint about the warm (almost hot water) coming out of the drinking fountain. Instead of looking into the issue the front door clerk made rude comments and started laughing and continued to sit behind his little throne. A few minutes later another person sat down at the front counter so I went up and asked if one of them was the owner - it was the owner.I explained the issue I had with the front door clerk and he continued to laugh and joke as well instead of taking care of the problem and checking to see what was wrong with the drinking fountain. The water there is always warm but this time it was almost hot.I will not return to that gym after that experience and I would not recommend it to anyone. I went over to planet fitness and was surprised by the level of customer service and amenities they offer for only $20 a month with no annual membership its a month to month membership you can quit when you want.If you are a veteran,military, hospital worker or Public safety worker you get two months free!They also have tanning beds, HydroMassage beds, massage chairs body enhancing ultral violet light therapy, and I can you use any planet fitness anywhere in the country. OHHHHHH by the way,hey have COLD water!!!

Love working out at Balance Fitness! They have a large selection of free weights, machines and aerobic equipment so theres rarely a wait while youre working out. The facilities are clean, everyones really friendly and membership is pretty reasonable.

I worked out here for 8 years and it is a nice place. Friendly, laid back and not a lot of muscle heads. It is a place to go and talk to some people while excercising. Great staff and clientele, you cannot beat the price.

I work out here when Im in town to see family. Its actually a great gym. Very clean with showers available. People here are generally serious about training.

Best gym in Castle Rock. This gym has it all including a very friendly and helpfull staff. It has plenty of free weights including dumbbells up 130lbs which was very important to me. It also has all the cardio machines you would ever want including a Peloton.

Whether you have never stepped foot in a gym or you are a veteran gym rat, this gym is for you. It has all the equipment necessary for a complete workout without the dreaded wait. The atmosphere is friendly, non-cliquey, non-judgemental where you can feel free to put your insecurities aside. The cleanliness is top notch to include lockerroom and showers. Its so convenient that you can easily pop in and out. I have been to Lifetime, 24 hr Fitness, Golds, and many rec centets, but this gym has my heart. Two thumbs us.

I went in with my family to check the place out. Pretty normal gym, and was clean. We asked to try out the facility and was told to go ahead (no waiver?). We werent here for very long, but I couldnt help but laugh at all the muscle heads. At least 5 men walking around in cut up tank tops, staring in the mirror as they lifted weights, clearly above me and my family. During one of my boyfriends sets of (100#ea) dumbbell bench press, he failed on a rep and had to drop the weight (from about 8 inches above the ground). Not even one of those guys offered to help or anything. Instead, one of the little roid freaks went up to the main desk to tattle.As we were leaving, the young blonde up front proceeded to scold my boyfriend for dropping the weight. She never asked if we liked the place, if we had any questions, only some guys said you were dropping weights, and you cant drop weights in here. Someone should teach that girl some customer service manners. We were ready to sign up for all three of us but we wont be setting foot back in this place.If youre looking for just a treadmill, or if you want to get the hookup on steroids, this is your spot. If not, go anywhere else.

I’ve been a member of this gym for almost three years and go several times per week early in the morning. At 4:15am, there are generally a few people there, who all seem friendly and courteous. The regulars pile in about six, just when I’m finishing up. I like the lack of pretentiousness here; probably my favorite thing about this gym is how nobody is roid-raging and staring you down.They have spent some money lately doing upkeep and buying new equipment which has been reassuring. With the new 24-hr Fitness place opening up by the Promenade I thought BF might have a tough time staying open. Good to see the owners have enough vision and business acumen to expand their offerings. It’s really well done. They have put in a Peloton bike which is way cool, as well as a whole new space for the squat rack and k-bells.This gym has a huge free weights area with high quality equipment. There are dozens of machines of all shapes and configurations, pull-up stations integrated into at least four different spots around the gym, and plenty of equipment to go around. They have a large space dedicated to cardio equipment as well, with a bunch of treadmills, ellipticals of various types, spin bikes, rowing machine, and seven or eight TVs. They have good solid WiFi, a great water fountain, ample parking, and well equipped locker rooms with showers. What more do you want for thirty bucks a month?!Highly recommended.

Lots of space and a variety of useful equipment

This place is a dump. It has dim fluorescent lighting, low ceilings and a dank sweaty smell, in other words depressing. Most of the gym equipment is old, loose beat up garbage. The music played is rubbish that should have stayed back in the elevators of the 1970s. Perhaps the most offensive is personal trainers that talk down to clients, either that or the hole in the floor where I rolled my ankle.
