If I could give less than one star I most definitely would. My MIL was in Independent Living for over 10 years and we watched as services and concern for residents that brought her there, diminished exponentially. The food was tasteless and she went one summer without an air conditioner because my husband was told they only buy in bulk, and there werent enough needing to be replaced yet. As her health failed we thought moving her to the ALF would be easier for her. The staff there was incompetent, uncaring and untrained. Every morning we found her saturated and the room smelling. Food trays were left on the counter outside her room or kitchen counter even though her mobility didnt allow for her to get the food. Within 2 weeks of being transfered to the ALF she fell fracturing her humerus and injuring her hip to the point she could no longer stand. She was moved to another facility after leaving the hospital and passed away not long after. I voiced my concerns to the COO and Director of Human Resources to no avail. I DO NOT recommend this facility to anyone. Its a lot of money to just to be in a place that is beautiful but doesnt care about their residents.

They do not check references here and hire anyone available. This is true right up to the top of their management, thats a joke. There are alot better places in the area that actually have experienced professionals. Do not be fooled by church management. This used to be a well run place, but not anymore.

This retirement community is awful. The residents in Memory Care are neglected and the staff working in that unit have no specialized training to equip them to care for residents with Alzheimer’s . The unit is completely understaffed leaving residents in soiled diapers and thirsty for water. The food served in Memory Care is not the same quality as the rest of the community. The Assisted Living building has no housekeeping on a regular basis and is understaffed as well. Strong smells of urine hit you as you walk the halls. The food they receive is cold as they have no useable kitchen in that building. The Independent Living building is and has been under construction and renovations for over 2 years. The residents have been forced to endure loud noises, mold, no hot water and dust so severe that residents with allergies have been forced to relocate. There is no housekeepers to maintain cleanliness of the building or resident rooms. The common areas are never sanitized for the prevention of Covid. The residents constantly complain about the lack of communication from the Executive Director who never leaves the office. The staff turnover is atrocious and puts the safety and well-being of residents at risk. There are no scheduled fire drills or elopement drills. The building is barely half occupied and strong smells of urine can be detected down hallways. The Town Center that’s used for social events and activities is in shambles. It’s been under construction and renovation for months to no avail. Dust, mold, old furniture and trash are present everywhere.Beware, when and if you still want to tour this facility for your loved ones, they will lie about everything to make the sale. DON’T MOVE YOUR PARENTS IN HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE!

During the pandemic the food has been awful and unhealthy for seniors. Delivered door. The first 5 months there was no yogurt, fresh fruit, raw chicken, burnt hamburgers, no soups and lousy desserts. Food is tepid or coldThey say housekeeping would be every week and they often go 3 weeks between cleaning. All activities have been cancelled. Gym is still closed 6 months later.Ants and roaches are a problem too. Residents are leaving in droves.

To the person that left a review that it smells bad. I have worked in retirement homes for over 15 years. This is one of the cleanest and well kept facilities I have ever been in.

This is without a doubt the best place for individuals that need Assisted Living. If an individual has an older parent, they should look here first. Its beautiful, pristine living conditions, the staff is wonderful. My husbands Uncle moved here after his wife passed away and he showed signs of beginning Alzheimers. Both of my husbands parents had Alzheimers. They lived in Tennessee and we had a difficult time finding a place for them. We changed places several times and finally found the V.A. on Cowards Mill Road in Knoxville to be outstanding. But theres no place Ive seen thats as appealing and wonderful as Waters Edge. If an individual lives in Bradenton then this is the first place I would look look. Its wonderful and Alzhiemers Units are presently being built next to the existing structure. Waters Edge has everything. The Apartment units are wonderful. They have a porch attached. There are activities planned, swimming, exercise, & the main thing is its clean and the personnel are so kind.

This place smells bad, not enough staff to care for the patient. They are uncaring, and I would not take my dog there .
