Been here a lot after an accident left my teeth pretty messed up. Had a splint, teeth pushed back into my head, a root canal and crown and Im still not done. Every single time Ive come in, thew folks here are extremely friendly and treat me with care. Dr. Lee is fantastic, and always explains exactly whats happening, which reassures me greatly. On my latest visit to get a filling and a crown fitted (on my two front teeth no less), Sydney took great care to make sure they looked great. Both her and Dr. Lee frequently asked if I was doing alright, and in no time my teeth were looking better than they had in months. I will definitely keep coming back.

The staff seemed overworked, overbooked, and rushed throughout my entire visit. The tech took me from my room to do an x-ray, and then back to a different patients room. Her comment was that she had been confused because shes seen SO many people that day and that she had me mixed up with another patient. I spent most of the hour and a half visit waiting to be seen and running between rooms with confused staff. It was an extremely rushed visit, and I will not be back...

The goings on after the appointments are in need of improvement.I have made calls with billing concerns and have been dismissed even after my insurance company informed them of their charging errors. This has been going on since last year and the excuse then was covid. Now they keep dismissing me and have no valid excuse.

Bloomington Indiana, I looked online and it says that new clients without insurance get a free exam and exrays. I set an appt for my son for today. By the time our appt time arrived the lady (who was kind of rude) told us it was only for the ages of 18 and up and it would cost $400 for those services. I went back online and finally found it in the small print in the very small conditions passing link. This seems rather deseptive to get individuals to get in their door. Advertising thats states services like this and also offering 20% off additional service just to unwittingly lock you into a long term payment plan for what was advertised would be free is false advertising. They do not care about the pain that individuals are experiencing, only to schedule an appt out to keep you from going else where with a fake offer. Ironically when you do find the part about the age qualifications it is actually 21. They do not even know their own offers. I will be contacting the BBB.

The dentist was very rough and flew right through everything. I got one tooth pulled and one wisdom tooth cut out. The stitches came out within an hour. I had to go back and get it restitched without any numbing agent. The doctor who put the suture back in was extremely rude when I asked to spit a mouth full of blood out she said i had to swallow it and then she went on telling me how I wasnt even bleeding anymore. They also told me they sent in pain medication to my pharmacy and once i got to cvs, the pharmacists said there was no prescription for me. This happened last time too and aspen said oh sorry we forgot to send it. They forgot this time too. They are a complete joke. Save yourself time and pain and just go somewhere else because they dont care at all.

I went in for teeth pain and sensitivity - they took dozens of x-rays before my consultation and this whole process was very uncomfortable and rather painful. I should known that this was a sign of doom forthcoming. The dental hygienist entered the room as I was waiting for the dentist and evaluated the cleanliness of my teeth. Mind you, I had not asked for this service, instead she just barged in the room, so it seemed like they were trying to make money off of me by offering unnecessary teeth cleaning service. Thankfully, she could not find any plaque on my teeth, but still suggested that I get teeth cleaning anyway. The dentist finally came in and briefly looked at the x-rays, poked around inside my mouth, and told me that I would need to see a specialist for a root canal. I was perplexed by this, as I didnt have any other serious symptoms of teeth sensitivity that would point to the need for a root canal. After my consultation, I made another appointment at a different dental office the next morning. The dentist there did a much more extensive and thorough inspection of the teeth, told me that I did not need a root canal (as there were no signs to indicate the need) and that I simply needed to get fillings for cavities. Now, my teeth no longer hurt! PLEASE, PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE - the dentist is very incompetent and its obvious that they just want to make as much money from you as possible. I would give 0/5 if possible.

Big mistake the only good thing was they were fairly quick.i was used as a trial patient for a new girl to apparently see how bad she could screw up trying to give exrays. After that horrible experience I was taken to the room for a consultation and the dentist was in and out in 2 minutes not asking me what kind of plan I may want but telling me what was going to happen and then leaving quickly. I feel really sorry for anyone who gets any work done there. The staff is rude and incompetent! STAY AWAY

I went to Aspen Dental last week after putting it off for way too long. Dr. Lee was great - she was gentle and she was informative and friendly about my options. I felt she was honest and wasn’t interested in giving me treatments I didn’t need just for financial gain like I have experienced at other places in the past. The Dental assistant was super sweet and bubbly when doing my X-rays and while waiting for the doctor. Another assistant entered the room and was also overly kind giving us an update on when Dr. would be in. I appreciated this - I didn’t wait long at all but they made me feel like a valued patient by keeping me updated on when the doctor would be available. The only complaint I have is that when I arrived the office staff sat with their back to me for over 5 minutes as I just stood there without being greeted, it was just really awkward - especially with being a new patient. I witnessed this happen to 4 different patients also after I was finally taken care of. They were speaking to each other and laughing and what not as if I was not even there. Thankfully this wasn’t an indicator of how my care would be. I almost left before being greeted because it was ridiculous, but I’m glad I didn’t. A simple “I’ll be right with you” or even eye contact with a smile would have made me feel much more welcome and at ease. Thanks, Dr. Lee and dental assisting staff for the great care! See you for my next cleaning.

NO ANTIBIOTICS, we need to do impressions, clean your teeth, PULL ALL 4 molars and you’ll get a denture partial plate. Then we are going to do 2 root canals with fillings. Your treatment plan is $10,669.00. REALLY !!! To say the least, I saw a different dentist the next day. The new dentist identified the same molar to be assessed. Proscribed antibiotics with a treatment plan of removing the tooth and going with a implant @ 3,000. Aspen ,I WILL NEVER COME BACK!!!

They stressed that I needed a deep cleaning in the financial office for all that nasty bacteria and I assumed it would make their job easier for the eventual teeth pulling... half a month before the actual appointment for the removal. Cancel your appointments, there are better options out there. Dentistry can have a fair price and this place is not it.

Aspen Dental is like the free vacation weekend you get if you’ll attend a sales seminar for buying a timeshare at a resort. They lure you in with a promise of a free check-up, where you might just assume you’re going to get a cleaning (you’re NOT). They put you through a rigamarole of ancient torture machines to get x-rays. Seriously, I haven’t had x-rays that were like that in 35 years of going to dentists. She took at least 16 different x-rays in my mouth with a huge uncomfortable plastic thing stuck in my mouth and adjusted to a slightly different position between every one. The machine arm was taped up with plastic packing tape that had gotten moist and yellowed which was repulsive and right at eye level. Finally the dentist comes in. She looks at your x-rays, and digs around in your mouth calling out numbers supposedly detailing the health and gap in your gums at the rate of an auctioneer. Supposedly the hygienist was behind her typing like a mad woman and carefully tracking over 100 numbers shot out at her in the course of a minute. Then they want to be able to show you all the terrible things about your teeth and all the work you need to have done. Unfortunately, I wasn’t their ideal “patient.“ Due to happy genetics and very mediocre mouth care, I have incredibly healthy teeth and gums. The dentist exclaimed over that and then claimed to have found one small filling that they would take care of in just a few minutes. Then I got turned over to their handler, who takes you to her office and tells you what the cost is going to be. I didn’t say anything, so she quickly informed me they could apply a discount which would bring it down to a slightly less outrageous amount. She asked if I wanted to make an appointment right then and I told her I would call in later. She backed off very quickly, obviously realizing I hadn’t bought into it. But I was trying to imagine her pitch to any poor uneducated people in pain needing an actual problem taken care of who get lured in by the same offer of a free initial visit that got me. They likely haven’t been to dentists much and don’t know what not to trust and helplessly agree. The fact they get these people isn’t a surprise. The surprise is an entire office of workers willing to sell their souls to work for a sham like this.

Aspen Dentals billing policies and procedures are dangerously incompetent at best and nefarious at worst. I have asked for refunds on multiple occasions to settle my negative Aspen Dental account balance with no success. They repeatedly planned for superfluous work at each visit, and after paying in full in advance, the unneeded work was not carried out while the funds for said work was still collected. Its as if they would like you to use your AspenBucks to continue returning to be overbilled again and earn more of those precious AspenBucks. They are likely not fond of issuing refunds because negative balances makes it more likely that patrons return to their office. I recommend not paying in advance if you opt for Aspens Dental services.

The staffs and dentist are all nice and friendly. However, their purpose is to earn money from you. Thats why they are being nice to earn trust from you first. My filling just came out and what I need it fill it back. The staff took the unnecessary X-ray for my whole mouth. What I need is the X-ray for the cavity. Then they told me I have gum disease and need deep cleaning which will cost me $1200 or more. They suggested me to do a crown on my tooth and will cost me 1500$ after insurance coverage. I went to another dental and they told me I can only do the filling with $64. If I want to do the crown which is a permanent way to protect my tooth, it is about $350 after insurance. I will say Aspen Dental is not wrong but the treatment they provide is not the best but the most expensive from my experience. They made me panic and felt helpless.

I contacted aspen over a severe toothache i had been having for 3 days. The local office couldnt get me in for another 4 days so i chose to drive 60 miles to an office that could get me in same day. After the x rays the doc took one look at the tooth and said it needed pulled (which is obvious). I was taken to another room to setup a schedule to pull the tooth. The soonest it could be done was 4 days away, which was fine, but i wanted to schedule it for the local office instead of making another 60 mile trip. As soon as i stated i wanted it done at their other office, i was given the local phone number and told to have a good day.Long story short, drove 60 miles, bit down on their x ray deals with a sore sore tooth, and got told to have a good day.Found a local dentist who pulled the tooth the next morning for $80(versus $310 with aspen) out the door.

The staff was very nice and the dental assistant who was taking care of me was truly kind, attentive, and cared about my comfort. However, I had a horrific experience with Dr. Hyunji Lee about a month ago. I hate the idea of writing bad reviews and I don’t think I’ve ever done it, but this one needs to be out there to save future patients from unnecessary tooth extractions!I came in with one broken tooth. My doctor back home had told me months before that this tooth would soon need a crown. While in Bloomington, it broke, and I couldn’t chew on that side. When I asked Dr. Lee about getting a crown at their location, she scoffed and said that my tooth was simply not salvageable and that I wouldn’t ever be able to get an implant because that tooth is “located in a complicated part of the mouth” [that made no sense to me – it was just my second molar ]. She said that it would need to be pulled, along with the tooth next to it. The tooth next to it was completely fine, and Dr. Lee did not offer a reason as to why she’d want to pull out two teeth at the back of my mouth. I was a bit shocked and asked how I would be able to chew without these teeth, especially if I cannot ever get a crown or an implant. Again, she scoffed and said condescendingly “You can chew on one side”. The prospect of chewing on one side for the rest of my life starting age 31 made my heart sink. I didn’t say anything while trying to process all this information – but Dr. Lee had already picked up her tablet and was trying to find a time to schedule my tooth extractions. I replied that I wasn’t sure that I wanted to do this… I felt very confused. Instead of offering me any kind of explanation or reassurance, Dr. Lee got up, said “K, bye” rudely, and left. I was shocked. She made me feel like she didn’t have one more second to waste with me.End of the story: I went to see another doctor in Bloomington for a second opinion. Amazing Dr. Lisa Baker didn’t see anything wrong with me getting a crown, and also didn’t suggest getting rid of the other tooth. I got a root canal on my broken tooth, and a beautiful crown. My teeth feel brand new and I can chew on both sides as if nothing had ever happened. Conclusion: If Dr. Lee tells you that you need your teeth pulled, please, please, get a second opinion!

Oct 2021- I didnt listen to myself and scheduled my husband for an appt with Aspen because he was in pain, 7 months later, they never did the actual service he went for, and they held our money hostage for 7 months only to give a partial refund and we were threatened by their finance company with collections for months for something they told us wed receive a FULL REFUND for before he left the office. Frequent management/employee changes, horrible customer service from Teresa in billing, having staff (Genevieve) put me on a perpetual hold as soon as she answers, no one leaving notes on our account for clarity or accountability, and all of this to be told that Teresa basically hadnt taken the time to actually look through our acct to notice the dates of service and speak with the person who most likely assured us of a full refund. I had to go into the office to even make progress on getting Teresa to do something about a refund. I will not let this go until my money is fully refunded and this Aspen Dental will NEVER get another cent from my family!4 years ago - Patient from 2012-2016. Walked in for my appointment, waited 25 minutes to be seen by the x-ray tech. Tech told me the doctor was busy since they were short an assistant and possibly couldnt perform my procedure I assumed I had made an appointment for 2 days prior. Waited 30 minutes for the doctor to come examine me for literally only 20 SECONDS, only for him to try to schedule me an appointment at a later date to fix the HOLE in my tooth! Prior to my exam, the guy next to me had to beg to be seen today to remove a tooth that the doctor confirmed had an abscess. He was waiting before me and was told to sit back in the waiting area and theyll try to work him in by noon!!! It was barely 9am! But he agreed because of his pain and not being able to get off work again. Thats my point, I took time off work to waste my time at this office. You knew what I needed, if you were unable to do it that day, notify me ahead of time, let me find other options or reschedule an appointment by phone. But DO NOT waste 1 hour of my morning with procedural b.s. that couldve waited until the day of my procedure (filling) just to have me come in to fulfill what ever quota youre trying to fill for the day. After 1 hour of nothing they tried to reschedule me for an appointment 2 weeks later, I politely offered to find other dental care and walked out. Dont waste my time!

Lets just begin this review by saying that I hate going to the dentist. I see the dentist office as a painful and awkward place where I usually end up getting bad news. You know, like when you have your taxes done or end up in an auto repair shop. So, I had been avoiding the dentist for a while (as in years). I decided to go to a dentist because things were hurting and maybe they could help. I had seen Aspen Dental ads on TV and figured Id give them a shot. They accepted my dental insurance and setting up an appointment over the phone was easy. They also email the paperwork you need to complete to you which is helpful. My first appointment I had a check up and no surprise problems were found. I had a cavity, needed a cap, and had gingivitis requiring a deep cleaning. After the appointment I sat down with the business office manager and she showed me how much everything was projected to cost with my insurance plan. I was able to choose what I wanted and didnt want to have done. No one ever tried to influence me to have work completed which I did not believe was necessary. The staff were always kind and polite. What I liked best was they were all about getting the work done as quckly and correctly as possible. There was no gossip or banter. They focused on the patient and getting the job finished. I have been very happy with the results. The pain I had attributed to cavities was actually ginvivitis and is now gone following my deep cleaning. The overall cost was around $1100 after my insurance for treating a cavity, post/porcelain cap, and a deep cleaning with arrestin. I will be returning to Aspen in the future. The only thing that I actually did not like was that they burned a scented candle too long at the check in area. While I certainly can understand why that may help with unpleasant odors. It was so strong that I felt like I was stuck in a candle shop and not at the dentist.

Unfortunately I don’t know if there is enough space in this review to expand on everything wrong with Aspen Dental.Let’s talk money. Review their estimate carefully and DO NOT PAY UP FRONT. They tried to trick me into paying $135.00 for a toothbrush which I then declined. They required upfront payment at each visit and then when the insurance indicated my responsibility was much less than what I paid I have had to jump through many hoops to get a refund. The local office cannot refund your money. They can sure take it but not give it back! After speaking with them several times, today I was told that it would take 7 to 10 business days for the refund to be processed by corporate.Next, there is no coordination of schedules or any apparent communication between the dentist and hygienist. I needed an extraction and periodontal cleaning. I was told to wait three weeks after the extraction by the dentist, but the hygienist called the day after the extraction because she had an opening that day. During my cleanings, the hygienist was called away several times to meet with other patients. Finally, their messaging service is aggressive in tone and inadequate given the available technology. I received an email stating that if I did not respond I was in danger of losing my appointment. I made the appointment, why should I have to call to keep the appointment. The text messages are no better. “It is important we hear from you today regarding your appointment”, no date, no time. This message sounds like there is a problem but when I called they just wanted to remind me of the appointment.Recommendation; avoid this company. There are much better options in the Bloomington area that treat their patients as people not dollar signs. I wish google had an option for negative stars.

Ive been going to Aspen Dental for a few years now. I finally have been able to see the same hygienist 3 times in a row! But never get the same dentist. On this most recent visit they tried to sell me invisalign even though I have very straight teeth. I think its ridiculous that a person cannot go to a medical professional and only have what they need recommended. Patients should not have to listen to a sales pitch from their dentist. Im looking for a new dentist, definitely an office that is not a chain.

This was not a good experience--beware of scam! I was asked to pay upfront for unnecessary services, then I had to jump through so many hoops to cancel my appointment and get a refund. Dont pay anything upfront! Get a second opinion!

I saw the dentist ,after x-rays , for less than 5 minutes. My hygenist was very personable, however she was called away twice to meet with other patients. When I left my teeth felt like they were coated with gritty candle wax. The account manager met with me to collect the current amount due. She said I had a filling and cleaning and gave me the amount due. I didnt have a filling, just a cleaning. I have mixed feelings about Aspen Dental. Its run like a business for profit as opposed to a DDS dedicated to health.

Had a fine time with my visits, but very upset with the phones and auto-emails. Contacting this office is a hassle, especially when calls are filtered through an automatic system. Whenever I call during regular business hours it appears that no one is in office to catch my calls. If anything, the only time anyone will answer is when I hit the option for the billing, otherwise it’s radio silence for scheduling. Aspen, if you are not able to handle early hours, PLEASE change your website. I (and many) work graveyard shifts and rely on functional business hours for doctors appointments. It’s frustrating when the voicemail tells you to call back during “regular business hours” despite the fact that you’re calling during the office’s normal business time.

I am still trying to understand Aspen Dental. I was very much miss lead from my first interview. You are promised things and it doesnt happen. Advancement is not an option.I think that they miss lead people on the pricing and what insurance is going to cover (that is the office manager). On the OM she flirts way to much with the male patients. I could go into great detail but out of respect I will not. I was amazed at her actions.Aspen was a good place to work. Then it started going down hill fast. The training sucks so much. If it wasnt for my fellow PSR I wouldnt of got the training I needed (what a great person). This place is a sad sad place.

I drive a good distance to go to Aspen Dental. Imagine my frustration when I arrive for my appointment and there was no record of my making the appointment ! Thankfully the dentist agreed to see me (the appointment was to adjust my partial ) I had to wait a bit but OK. The dentist was very pleasant and helpful.

Amazing. My boyfriend is in the military and had a voucher, on the day it expired, he overslept for his appt through another dentist. They wouldnt even give us the time of day, shrugged us off within 5 words. I called aspen, and this woman sat through my whole explanation of the voucher and politely guided me through the info she needed and set up an appointment for him. They have trustworthy dentists as well! Lifesavers, literally.

I was ripped off of the $170 “Free exam and X-rays”!!! I contacted them and went back several times trying to get my money back. They always assured me that I would get my money back but I never did. They charged my credit card that fee of $170 after telling me on my first visit I would never be charged!! Also, the dentist told me that I had cavities that didn’t exist! And wanted to charge me an additional $600!! I went to my family dentist and he told me that I didn’t have any cavities other than one tooth that had broken off and needed to be pulled! I am reporting them to the Better Business!!

I liked the office location and they got my husband in right away and he had no problems with his tooth extraction.Sadly, I didnt have that same experience. I had nothing but problems with my wisdom tooth extraction and ended up with dry socket and a permanent bump at injection site.I was also not told about charges that our insurance would not cover before receiving those charges or services.I had to finish services here that we had to pay for in advance or I would not have returned.

This place is a Fn joke.... They make you pay for services weeks in advance, then want to keep rescheduling your appointment. Finally go in on scheduled day just to be told they cant do surgery and they need to reschedule it once again. Ask for a refund to be told it will take 7-10 days to get the refund. I didnt wait 7-10 days to make the payment, or shouldnt take that long to get a refund. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. They will RIP you off.

My mother in law went here to get some dental work done. After the procedure they informed her she would have to pay an extra $300, because the dentist said that it was harder than he thought it would be. The original price for the procedure was an estimate. Supposedly they normally over-estimate procedures. Makes you wonder if they refund $$ if its easy. Also the dentist was very rough with her. She said it was a brutal procedure. He told her if she experienced pain to raise her left hand, which she did. He gave her a shot, and without waiting for it to take affect he went right back to work extracting her teeth.

I have been 3 or 4 times for cleanings and once to have a chipped tooth pulled. When I thought I had an abscess, they worked me in for an evaluation and when the symptoms returned 2 weeks later they got me in just as quickly. I am a nervous patient and choke easily so I normally dont like going for checkups but they have always been patient when working on me.

My first , and possibly last visit to Aspen Dental on Jacob Drive went like this; I showed up 15 minutes early with all paperwork completed and insurance card ready. I handed over the paperwork and got signed in very quickly. I then sat for almost an hour before the, admittedly pleasant, lady behind the counter informed me they were running behind and it would be around 20 minutes or I could reschedule. Fearing the 20 minutes would turn into another hour I rescheduled. If my second visit is better than the last I will revise my review.**** Revision***2nd visit, got right in, had x-rays and checkup, front desk , dental tech, hygienist and dentist all friendly and professional. Went over issues and possible solutions and all went well..... UNTIL their office manager. I do not know where she learned how to deal with people, but she was rude and snappish, when I asked questions, to the point that I stood up and left. She had her spiel, of what I was going to do and pay, and had NO time for questions or interruptions. There are way too many good dentists in the area to have to deal with that kind of attitude.

I wish I would read these reviews first. I chose this place based on a referral from my insurance, which said it was network. On the phone, I explained that it was necessary that the wisdom tooth removal be able to take place before the second week in August. I was told that was no problem. Beautiful office, 20 minute wait time, then the bad news. They were waiting on a new oral surgeon to join them and July was booked and the August schedule was not out yet. Frustrated that I had driven an hour and a half, I left with the promise of a phone call soon to schedule. After a month of no contact, I call to find out that the new doctor is not in the network yet, and August 30th would be the next possibility. They offered to refer us somewhere else. The lady did a good job explaining the situation, but she would not give me an explanation of why I wasnt called. An apology would have gotten them another point!

Considering I spent $2500 per root canal and had to pay $1000 for my cap at aspen, you would think when I go to an aspen I wouldn’t be charged a $105 office fee just to tell me that it’s a bad cap and to go to my original aspen.

I could not be happier about the excellent service I received at Aspen Dental. I wish I had gone to them sooner! Everyone was so nice and helpful. I went in on a Wednesday for my very 1st exam and x-rays, they asked when I would like to have my work done. I told them about my upcoming work schedule and that I had a few days off in a row but that was only 2 days from then. They made time while I was there to do my impressions, and a couple hours later, my bite block. When I was done with my bite block they told me they could work me in to have work done on Friday! They fit me in the schedule and even more impressive they got my denture made in 2 days! I could not believe it! They already had all the info and costs figured out for me, and I was more than elated to find out it was way more affordable than I had thought it would be. The day of my procedure the conscious sedation medication I had been prescribed did not have much effect on me, they kindly asked if I wanted to reschedule and try something else, like an actual sedation. I didnt reschedule. I was so nervous but Dr Jansen and the dental assistant were so helpful in calming me down and helping me thru it. I was in and out if the office in a little over an hour. As I was leaving, my mouth was numb but I was smiling, at least I think I was :). I have and will continue to recommend and praise Aspen Dental to anyone and everyone. I honestly could not be happier and I am so thankful for all they have done for me. I cant stop smiling!! Thank you everyone at Aspen Dental! You guys are awesome!!! :-D

2 things- the first is I have been having a lot of trouble with my bottom denture and tried to schedule an appointment with them to have it adjusted. I always seem to call when theyre out to lunch, and they dont call back. Second is I was told after setting up payments with a credit service Aspen Dental uses, that I may receive a bill and to not worry about it. I got a bill at least 3 times, and now I got a letter from a collection agency! Sorry, I cant recommend them to anyone

I was not impressed with their system. However, the lady that did my x-rays was VERY patient and nice. And because I have anxiety issues that was good! But, I asked for my husband to come back with me. They said he could come back when the doctor came into the room. I didnt appreciate this. My husband could have been there from the beginning of my visit. And when the doctor did come to consult with me, my husband still wasnt there. And that is after asking for him a second time. They did get him after the doctor told them to. They have a business manager that takes over the process after the doctor. She was OK but the approach was very mechanical and the cost was way more than I can afford. There were charges added to my treatment plan than were not needed. It was nice not to have to pay for x-rays because I was classified as a new patient and I have no dental insurance. But, since I do not wish to continue with service with Aspen Dental ... will I get a bill? I hope not. I feel their overall system is deceptive.
