I was here with my Sister she had to bring her dog in, my Sister really likes this place.

Great, they took care of a friends bird over night at that last minute and they were really in a pinch so its awesome that they were able to accommodate their request. Theyve worked with them before and its a nice, well run, clean & friendly place!

I came here for the first time today for my green cheek conure, and I can’t remember the vets name but he was so wonderful. He has a great bedside manner and was so knowledgeable and informative. My bird usually bites new people and the vet was even able to handle my little guy without getting bit!

This was my first time coming to this vet. The staff was extremely nice. Dr. Benson was very personable and great with my cat. It was very clean and organized as well.

These guys are great! The doctors are super knowledgeable and accommodating. My pig sprinkles was attacked by a dog recently. I called Indian prairie and they said they didn’t have any availability for emergency appointments but allowed me to bring sprinkles in anyway! They kept him under observation and did an examination to make sure there wasn’t anything wrong with him before calling me to pick him up. They only charged me for a routine visit!!! Not an emergency appointment, like most vets would have. Then they kept in contact with me for the next few days to make sure no new problems arose.

Do not take your rabbits here!I just moved to the area and wanted to get my rabbit set up with a local vet, but I was horrified with this place. The building itself is nice and the staff are friendly with the exception of Dr. Ristich.Dr. Ristich is the exotic animal vet and apparently had experience with rabbits, but you wouldnt know it from the rough way he handled my rabbit. Rabbits are delicate animals, but this vet was so forceful with my rabbit, I was genuinely shocked. I couldnt believe someone with rabbit experience would handle a rabbit this way.But by far the worst part was when he grabbed my already terrified rabbit by the back of his neck and flipped him upside down, something you should never ever do to rabbits! And then proceeded to squeeze at him and jab him far more than necessary.And this isnt standard practice, I did my research and nowhere did it show an examination remotely as rough and scary as the one he gave my rabbit.Rabbits have been known to die from shock from being put in a prone position. Any good rabbit owner knows that you NEVER flip a rabbit on its back! They are prey animals that can literally die of fear.Anyway, I will never be taking my bunny back here and I advise you to avoid it as well.

I highly recommend Indian Prairie Animal Hospital! Ive been taking my dog, Sadie, here for years and she has always received excellent care. Recently, our pup injured her ACL and weve had a couple appointments for her care. Dr. Ristich is attentive, experienced and always adds a touch of humor! He is careful and cautious with Sadie. I appreciate their immaculate office and staff. If youre looking for a new vet or are new to the area, check them out.

This place is great. The staff is welcoming and professional. The Drs are educated, skilled, and compassionate... and they listen to you and work with you to create the best experience for your pet as well as treatment plan when necessary.Shout out to Dr. Ristich -- finally found a vet in the Naperville area that I can write a positive review about. My cat Pip, who is almost 13, is having some health problems for the first time in his life. Along with that came my cats aversion to any type of medication, which has made things harder. Luckily, the doctor was able to help me find medication routes that are a bit more tolerable for Pip. While the process of finding out whats going on with my cat has been frustrating to me (again, hes never been sick, and watching him get sicker was very upsetting), it has been more so than it usually would have been as I very recently lost my sister at a young age. The thought of losing my cat right now too is impossibly hard to express.However, Pip is slowly turning back into his old self, after I followed (to the best of my ability, despite some spitting out of pills and hiding from transdermal meds) the instructions and recommendations given by Dr. Ernsting, for whom I am very appreciative. Halving the dose of one very expensive med (while keeping within therapeutic range) was a lifesaver, and kept my cat comfortable while we waited for imaging.While I still cannot get this cat to eat the prescription diet or take pills orally on any kind of consistent basis, he is improving, as we have multiple ways to medicate him now. I also very much appreciate the staff members patience with me and my multiple email and phone questions, and I am happy to see Pip resting, playing, and eating normally again. Thank you for helping me help my little buddy.

We have always received the best care for our dog with Dr. Ristich especially as our dog aged and she developed some special needs. We have been without a dog for over 14 years but now that we finally brought in a new dog we knew we were going to come right back to Indian Prairie Animal Hospital. Our first visit back at their new location and its still a great place for our pets medical needs. Friendly, and informative as well. Thank you!

Great pet care. I have been using them as my vet for 30 yrs. Dr. Sam Ristich knows about parrots and everything else. He has great bed side manor. He has my respect. His staff are very nice too.

I received phenomenal exotic animal (Guinea pig) care from Dr. Benson. He really cared about my little buddys condition and went above and beyond to attend to him. He clearly cares and has a wide scope of medical knowledge, that put me at ease. He also preformed an ultra sound for free because he wasnt satisfied with the results data he got off the xray.Highly recommend.5 stars to the good doctor.

The Vet was knowledgeable about my bearded dragon however Apollo was very sick. They did what they could but he didnt make it.

The front desk lady was horribly rude and very unprofessional. Heard her whisper to her coworker I dont have time for this. In my opinion if you get paid to work then you should prepare yourself for work. If you dont have time for this or that why are you even there!!!! Mind you all i asked was for pricing on rabies and distemper vaccines. Other places were much nicer and more professional.

I would like to thank this animal hospital for being so patient and kind with our dog. We took her in today and she has a lot of anxiety. I was so nervous just dropping her off at the door but as I watched them interact with her I knew she was in good hands! Maggie is not the easiest dog to deal with but they make it look easy. Thanks for being loyal and patient with my fur baby! Yes, I was that crazy person watching her to make sure she was OK but I knew she was in good hands!

Very professional! Took my pet poncho today for a check up and everything went well and everything was very nice! A question I had though was so you guys sterilize the small box used to bring in pets? For example, do you sterilize it against fleas, bird mites, and other pet diseases?

I have been here 3 times now. I have 2 kittens. Cancelling my spay appointments and will no longer return to this vet. Highly disappointed by the customer experience, this hospital came recommended from a close friend, who did warn they are pricey. But to me, what is the cost for great care for my girls?Unreliable -- poor time management, and poor communication. Maybe they need more staff or they need to reduce the number of appointments they agree to take in as it does not seem they are managing their capacity well.One kitten was examined by Dr. Ristich. Good bedside manner (over the phone, you do not go in with your pet due to COVID-19), seemed to believe everything was okay. Didn’t press for urine tests/etc, but did them at my request. Cost over $200, but worth it for peace of mind. He earns the only stars in this review.Second time was for a routine exam - we were never seen. After over 45 minutes of waiting in the car, we cancelled as it was clear I would not be seen at all that day. Reception was short and flustered.Third time, came in for blood draws (which cost $281). Technician was far too rough. Blew the artery on my kitten and did not tell me at all. Discovered the injury later that evening. Kitten was not herself afterwards.Last, information regarding the process for a routine spays has been inconsistent and incomplete over multiple phone calls.I highly recommend for routine shots, and spay/neuter to go with Spay Illinois in Lisle.**Update** Dr. Ristich called to explain to me the technicians did blow the artery on my kitten, as I assumed. Acknowledged someone should have told me, offered to exam the injury for free and refunded the cost of the blood draw. Again, he earns the only stars in this review as my experience to date has been consistently unreliable.

I had to take my sugar glider (Cookie) in because she got her tail wrapped in her toy. Dr. Benson was AWESOME the staff was just as good!! The price.... I walked out saying thank you, VERY seasonable.

We brought our new puppy in to be evaluated by Dr. Benson. Given the current pandemic circumstances, we were unable to be in the office with our new pup, but Dr. Benson evaluated our puppy, and called us with the results of his exam, and spent ample time giving us details on what he found, what he recommends for new puppies, timing of vaccinations, etc. and answered all of our many many questions as new puppy owners. He was extremely helpful and put our minds at ease knowing our pup was 100% healthy! Will be returning with our puppy and all future pets!

Weve entrusted the health of our animals to Dr. Ristich, Dr. Teiber, and Dr. Ernsting for about 15 years now. Theyve helped us through saying goodbye to longtime family members and more recently, theyve been taking care of our cat and our new puppy. The most telling aspect of their care is how my animals leave after every appointment... Happy! Doctors Ristich, Teiber and Ernsting have always been straightforward with us about the best paths to keeping our animals as healthy as possible, and it certainly shows. Not to mention the rest of the staff from the technicians to reception are always friendly, prompt and overall a joy to work with. These folks are fantastic. Same day appointments are usually available. They have been taking care of my sons rabbit for a few years now and all is good.

So far all our encounters have been great. Unfortunately ee have not been able to meet the vets because of Covid, but we know our pups love them.

I drive over an hour and a half to get to the clinic. I will not take my animals anywhere else. My dog is happy to get in the car and go see his favorite veterinarian. The attention to detail is important to me, If my animals do not feel well I want to know without worry they are getting the best care. I’m always greeted with a smile to a clean, warm and very friendly staff. Drs, each and every one are professional, caring and every animal is treated as if it was their own. This practice is about the animals, how they feel , how well they are cared for. When you go to any clinic you may not get the answer you want to hear, but what you hear in this clinic is the truth about what’s wrong , and clarity about what can be done. As an owner I’m treated with dignity and respect and you simply do not get that where I live. I’m very peculiar about how my animals are treated . Your in the right place with this staff. I travel a long distance and as long as I have animals they will be with this staff. If you treat your animals like your children ... welcome to the place I call home for my pets!

Without a doubt they are the most caring, professional veterinarians I have ever met. They have always treated our pets with love and care. They explain their findings in detail and always lay out the various directions we can go in terms of treatment.

I took our sick little turtle (Tank)to see Dr. Ernsting. I cant say enough good things about him and this experience. He was sicker than I thought so I had a ton of questions and he answered all of them with great patience and a genuine concern for our little guys health. I got in within a few hours of calling and all the other staff were very kind and great with Tank. Dr. Ernsting was extremely knowledgeable and caring. I have found a new vet for life and am so grateful. Not only are they a great practice but it was only $73.00 to have him looked at. (Medication was extra of course) So reasonable for an exotic exam! If youre are looking for avian specialist for routine care or emergency visits this is the place to go!  Dr. Benson has been treating my birds for three years and I am continually impressed with his knowledge, patience and wonderful bedside manner.  I have been to several animal hospitals for my flock and this practice is by far the best. Bonus, the staff is friendly and their customer service is always solid. I thank you IPAH and so does Fiddle and Kazoo!

Best vet youll find. They have complimentary nail trims. They have always properly diagnosed anything wrong with my animals and prescribed the proper treatment.

Never needed a vet before. My bird was overly plucking. Was quoted like $60 on the phone for a check up. Bill ended up being almost $100 after they gave him a shot without telling me cost.

My guinea pig had a tumor and Dr. Benson recommended surgery after it kept getting bigger. He was fantastic with her and somehow he managed to get her to sit still. Unfortunately she passed away since it turned out to be cancerous but Dr. Benson took the time out of his day to write us a card of sympathy. I am so impressed and all the doctors there are devoted and friendly. I don’t know what else to say other than really recommending this place to pet owners.

The staff is wonderful, I’ve been here for few different pets & the doctors always explain in details wherever is wrong with my pets & the best treatment for them.Yes, it is a little pricey but almost everywhere else is about the same.So yes, I do recommend their services.

I took my little bunny to this vet, and honestly, I couldnt have been happier with them. Yesterday, my family and I had to put down our family dog. Dr. Ernsting was incredible. He gave us every option and answered every question we had in detail. He was respectful, kind, and it was obvious he cared despite meeting us for the first time then. He made a very difficult situation something better. Him and the staff here are incredible. He looks young, but had the professionalism and care of a doctor that had worked 20+ years. Glad that our sweet dog was cared for in the hands of him and the vet techs.

Ive not only brought my guinea pig here, Ive also brought my senior dog here for a second opinion. I met Dr. Benson the first time I came here and not only was he super friendly, he made sure to answer any and all questions I had for my Guinea pig. The second time I came here for my senior dog, I made sure to schedule with Dr.Benson again. He was just as friendly and answered all my questions once again with my visit. I definitely trust his words and advice when it comes to my sick dog, and will be bringing her back to re test and check her kidneys. Thanks Dr. Benson and team!

Increadable service with very caring Doctors for all furries....

We are from out of town and had one of our dogs break a toenail. They were able to get us in almost immediately and treated us like we were regular patients. They have her a full exam and fixed her nail right up. Dr. Benson did a great job with her even though she was very nervous. If I lived in the area this would definitely be our vet.

There is a variety of vets, so the hours are longer than a single vet facility. Staff is very nice, efficient, and knowledgeable. Our pups arent nervous going or getting there, but for some reason are terrified of the scale? I get the impression that is normal. Will definitely be taking our pups back and bring our kits there when its time for their annual exams as well. Was also told that when pups have had the annual exam and are up to date on shots, they will trim our pups nails free of charge!?! Score! Just need to call ahead for a tech to be available. They also board animals, have a dog trainer and do doggie daycare. Happy to have found them!

Would give no star if possible. Brought a dwarf bunny for a well check and he was given a great report. He also had his nails trimmed and something happened to him under their care because when we brought him home, he could not put weight on his back hock and one of his nails was ripped out. He stopped eating and it looked like he was in pain, so we brought him back. He got fluids and medicine, but unfortunately they must have broken his back leg because it sticks out to the side, as it did when the vet saw him the 2nd time. Horrible! We handled the bunny for years so it is possible to do it without breaking/dislocating bones- so their excuses that bunnies are fragile dont cut it. Either you know how to handle fragile animals, or you dont! Now we have an invalid bunny since summer. Their people that handle small animals like that for a nail trim- how much of an exotic pet expert are they? Ii is so disappointing, we had a perfectly healthy and happy bunny and ended up with an invalid- courtesy of their care. Beware if you have a small pet as they clearly dont know how to handle one.

Love this place. I refuse to take my pets anywhere else. The staff are very friendly. My cats see Dr. Benson, hes very kind and trustworthy. You can really tell her cares about you and your pret.

Great practice. My bird has been a patient here for years. Because of Dr Ristich I still have him. Several years ago Dr. saved him when I thought for sure I was going to lose him. I never took him to another place after. This month was the first time we boarded (or left ) him. I was very nervous how this would go. He did very well. I really appreciate the staff emails w updates, pictures and a phone call. My bird came home and was his old self no temper tantrums. That as any bird person knows is a very good sign. Thanks for everything!

I moved to the area from relatively far away & needed a vet. When my cat caught a cold, I brought her here. The vet was wonderful, even though my cat peed in her carrier and it wasnt a great first impression on my part (cat pee isnt a pleasant smell in an enclosed room), & nobody even batted an eye. The vet was honest, didnt try to give me treatments my cat didnt need, & the visit price (including a rabies vaccine) was only $77. Id definitely recommend this office for your pets vet needs. Also, I live in Will County, and my cat received a rabies vaccine during the visit. The office didnt supply Will County tags, but went out of their way to have them mailed to me. Ill definitely be back with my other cat when its time for his visit.

I took my guniea pig to be seen for an emergency because his vet was gone for a week. The staff was welcoming. The lobby was clean and free of odor. Dr. Ristich was attentive, knowledgeable and showed great care. And a plus is that he kept my 8 year old laughing. Needless to say, our guniea pig has found a new vet.

Not long ago my daughter and I rushed our hedgehog to IPAH who clearly wasn’t doing well. We were seen right away and Dr. Benson explained to us that (Murray) was terminal and most likely in heart failure. Dr. Benson took the time to explain exactly what was going on with Murray with compassion and understanding for how devastating the news was. He kindly explained our options in a way that helped my daughter understand that letting Murray go was the best and most humane choice. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Benson for making such a difficult day a little more bearable. He also took the time to write a personal note inside a sympathy card sent to our family! Dr. Benson provides the level of care that everyone should want for their family pet!

This is a great veterinary office. Ive brought all of my animals here for several years, the vets are numerous and knowledgeable. They are slightly more expensive, but you yet what you pay for. Highly recommended.

Took my sick guinea pig for an ear infection. They had told me he also had a respiratory issue that could be on going but would need x-rays to determine an on going illness. They were dead on. Unfortunately he passed away from anomonia but if I ever get another guines pig this will be the vet I will continue to go too.

Dr. Ristich is such a wonderful Doctor!! There are many vets out there that will try to sell you vaccinations or things your dog doesnt really need. My poor puppy ate a piece of hard place and was very sad and did not want to play for about a week. I called and the ladies there were so helpful, and so caring to my puppy. Once I saw the doctor he asked me a few question advised me Lucy was good. He assured me that if i wanted to spend more money I can but that i shouldnt! I love this doctor I recommend this facility to everyone. So clean and beautiful. I wish we had more places like this one!.

Mixed feelings here, as I have to agree with user #2 and her/his review. I loved the vet we saw (Dr. Shaft) I believe, but then I asked for a quote for spay of a female 40lb puppy. I was BLOWN AWAY when they handed me the quote $541 for one puppy to be spayed. I cant imagine paying this much for the spay of my puppy while there are plenty of other good places to take my dog for at least half this cost. They really need to re-evaluate their cost policy as this was the highest quote I received for spay.

I really like this place! Everyone there seems to really care what happens regarding your beloved family member, especially Dr. Chatterjee! Every receptionist and technician Ive dealt with is very friendly and knowledgeable! They all seem to go out of their way to make sure your family member is well taken care of! They wont sugar coat things just to make you happy. Their top priority is to insure that your family member is healthy and happy! I took my cat to another vet before this place and I didnt like them because they didnt seem to care. Indian Prairie Animal Hospital has shown me numerous times that they are here to make your family member healthy! To everyone in the Indian Prairie area, bring your beloved there if you care about your familys wellbeing!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This veterinarians office is beyond incredible. The whole staff cares about you and your furbabies as if they were their family. All of the doctors are wonderful. Dr Ristich & Dr Benson have gone above and beyond for my family. Unfortunately, my dog passed away. However, they diagnosed something that multiple doctors and multiple offices had missed. When I had to say goodbye to my best friend dog I felt as if I was saying goodbye with my family. Cannot recommend them enough. I know multiple people say the office visit is more expensive than most. It is a little more expensive on the actual office visit price but 100% worth it!

I am writing this to get the word out about Indian prairie animal hospital in Aurora 60505. While under my daughters pug Otis at the above. They undiagnosed his illness and is fighting for his life. We live day by day now. I will not call them Dr. They dont deserve that respect. Now to the point we thought we found the greatest vet Benson. My daughter and her husband took Otis for blood work. Benson walked into the room would not even look at Otis. Benson came into the exam room. Stated we dont see eye to eye you dont trust me. No communication. My daughter was hysterical they had to leave keep im mind Otis is extremely ill. When becoming a vet they take an oath. I met with the owner and pleade for him to examine Otis he refused. They kicked them to the curb. Then the following day one of the receptionist that is a thug and should not be around any animal. Her thug of a mother went into my daughters place of business rude left a message that in my eyes was stalking harrasing threatening and trespassing. Guess what i found out which girl it was. I practice Karma Accountability. Please dont bring your loving pet as you may find yourself in a horrible situation. Vets take an Oath and yet in our experience a vet would never end a relationship with a seriously ill family member. We had to find another vet immediately. We

Dr Benson takes great care of our pet pig, Hamilton. He is so patient and accommodating. We wouldnt bring him anywhere else.

Our first visit was six months ago, when we had a sick Guinea pig. IPAH was the nearest exotic animal vet that we could get into quickly. Dr Benson was amazing with both of our piggies...so patient and attentive. He clearly loves animals and is extremely knowledgeable.We ended up losing one of our piggies and shortly after, received a beautiful sympathy card from Dr Benson. We also received a follow up call a few weeks later to see how the other piggy was doing.We have an older dog that I have always taken to the vet a few minutes from home...but every time I go there, Im more and more disappointed in the level of care we receive. I feel like they are always trying to push the most expensive options on us without offering any alternatives or suggestions. When we adopted another dog recently, I decided it was time for a change. Weve tried a couple other vets in our area but none compare to Dr Benson and IPAH. So even though its a little further for us...its worth the trip!

We have had many different experiences with the staff and Doctors of IPAH and we can honestly say though the good visits and the not so good visits we have never had negative experience with them. They have such a huge heart and care of all kinds of animals. I couldnt have been more lucky to find a Vet like IPAH.

Amaizing animal hospital. Dr took the time explain everything that needed to be done. Was so worried because our precious fur baby developed a limp. Turns out she is just getting older and developed arthritis. Gave me a lot of information did all the routine tests and vaccines. Everyone there was so great. Found our clinic for life.

Dr.s did a great job with my cat. Went 5he extra mile and answered all my questions

Dr. Ristich will always have a special place in our hearts and has cared for every pet since we moved to the area 12 years ago. When our aging beloved black lab had to be put down, I didnt want to put her through going for a car ride into a building that terrified her. Dr. Ristich came to the house where she could pass away peacefully in her familiar surroundings and took her back with him for cremation (I will add at no additional cost since some people have mentioned cost). This made a truly devastating experience much more tolerable. He is awesome and obviously committed to his furry patients well-being from birth to death. He now sees both our dog and cat and I would never switch vets. As others have said, you get what you pay for!

Where do I even start.....After waking up to one of my guineas having an eye injury and never have had that happen before. I took to the internet to figure out what the heck is going on. And after reading plenty of pages long of people in the same boat, the number 1 thing said was to take them to the vet asap! So right away I started searching for exotic vets near me and was so pleased to see this location only 10 minutes from me. I messaged them via Google about how much a guinea exam is and within hours they responded back (67.00$). Right away I called them to make an appointment and they said I could come same day but the next day just worked better for me. After entering the front door I was greeted with a smile by the ladies at the front desk, and helped right away. Had to wait a little (less then 8 minutes) for a room to open up, but as I was waiting they asked if I wanted anything to drink. Thank you!! Once in a room the assistant was sweet as pie and handled my guinea so gently. Then she came back with Dr. Benson and what a sweet and caring man he was with my guinea pig. He did a full exam on my guins being super careful of his eye. Diagnosed him right away and prescribed him a pain reliever and eye drops to try and help my little guy. He really seemed to care for my guinea and was happy I didnt wait to bring him in for such a awful eye injury. After I was done with the great doctor and assistant I went to check out and even the lady up front was as sweet as pie!! She acknowledged my guinea pig, even pet him, and explained the eye drops for me. Now I have to admit I got a little nervous when it came to paying because I wasnt sure how much the pain meds and eye drops were going to cost...But to my surprise it was less then 50$. I am really happy I found Dr.Benson and his team, everyone was just so nice... Oh and did I mention they do complimentary nail clippings. Thanks guys!!! And oh a side note, the pain meds must have really helped because its only been 4 hours and my little guy is eating again! 🤗

I use to get my sugar gliders treated here but no more. Dr. Samual Ristich was one of the eorst vets ive ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I had gone on vacation leaving my animals in charge of some people I thought I could trust upon coming home I found a hole in one of my gliders necks. This had been done by his cage-mat who we found out later from a different bet and facility had a brain disease that caused him to turn on him. When I took him to see Dr.Ristich I was given the worst treatment from him. Once he saw my lottlw guys neck he proceeded to baraid me about how I knew this was happening even though I was gone when it happened which i had explained and how I was a terrible owner and person for having this happen. After my guy was cleaned up he was given an antibiotic shot and I was goven some stuff to put on the wound. I was told he would not need to give him oral antibiotics because the wound was not that bad. A week later my glider was dead. Turns out from the 15 other glider vets on several states that I talked to you ALWAYS give a glider oral meds because they are so sensitive even if the wound doesnt look that bad. When I brought this up to this place I was told no you dont. I doupt 15 other vets would be all wrong. After I refused to see him sp when I took my other gliders to see them I was told BY THE VET I was seeing that they dont see many and that I know how to hold my gliders better then they did. If you dont even know how to properly hold an animal how am I ever going to trust you know how to treat my animals. They dont really know what they are doing when it comes to gliders. It was a horrible experience id put zero stars if I could. Id also like to add they wanted to do an autopsy on him I didnt trust them so I took him somewhere else to get it. The infection he had from his wound HAD indeed spread into his blood and body and that what killed his. This ver lilled my animal and they covered for him when I called them out on it. HORRIBLE PEOPLE! They dont know about exotics.

Phelan has been going to IPAH for over two years. Since that time he has seen all the vets! They have been very professional; explaining what was happening and why. Recently Phelan has seen Dr. Ristich for what we hope is a soft tissue injury on Phelans foot and a skin condition a week after. Dr. gave a time line as to what the treatment would be for each. Dr Ristich has a great sense of humor! The front desk staff are all friendly and efficient. The technicians show they care. I feel good knowing Phelan is in good hands all the way around.
