I highly recommend Dr. Shin. Dr Shin extracted 4 wisdom teeth of my teenage son and he did an incredible job. He was on time for the appointment, explained through the entire process as well as after care instructions. Not only that, after the surgery, he was constantly in touch with us, making sure my son was recovering well and answered any questions we may have had after the surgery. You can tell, he really cares for his patients.

Dr. Shin was very professional throughout the entire appointment of my four wisdom teeth extractions. I came in very nervous and scared and wanted to run out the door but my mind changed. He was very comforting throughout the procedure. He gave me after care instructions and wanted to give his phone number to me in case I need any explanation. That just shows he has great concerns for me! Lets just say I recovered after my third day. Thats how good he was. Just follow his instructions and take your antibiotics as needed. :) I totally recommend him!

Best doctor and totally recommend Dr. Shin. Dr. Shin did my wisdom teeth extraction (all 4) in November, 2020. He was very patient and thorough. He explained everything very clearly before the surgery and the surgery was a breeze. My recovery was very difficult, which Dr. Shin warned me about before hand considering my age and how deep were my wisdom teeth. I had a very tough two weeks post surgery, and I made a couple of panic calls to Dr. Shins personal phone after office hours and he very patiently answered my questions and assured me that I will be fine. He also offered to see me in the office on the next business day if I am still worried. I had been to another doctor before who scared me that there is a good chance that my trigeminal nerve could be damaged during surgery. Dr. Shin assured me that he will try his best not to let that happen and I didnt have any problems post surgery.Thank you Dr. Shin!

I was told by a number of doctors, including Dr.Shin, that my tooth extraction was low risk for nerve damage. I believe that Dr.Shin botched the surgery. I got permanent nerve damage. I went to a different surgeon for the same tooth on the other side, no nerve damage. I would not recommend this surgeon at all. If you dont want general anaesthesia, I would recommend Dr.Boloux at Emory. If you want general anaesthesia, I would recommend Dr. Glenn Maron. Dont ever go to Dr.Shin!!!

I used Dr. Shin for a simultaneous internal sinus lift and implant. He did a phenomenal job.I’d heard horror stories about how difficult/painful this procedure could be. But for me, the surgery was a breeze with only minimal after effects.Prior to the surgery, Dr. Shin thoroughly explained what he was going to do, along with the potential after effects I might experience.He demonstrated outstanding technique during the surgery, and throughout our interactions demonstrated excellent bedside manner. He listened to my concerns, and thoroughly answered all my questions.I experienced no issues and only minimal discomfort both during and after the surgery. And his staff was courteous and attentive.I highly recommended Dr. Shin for any of your oral surgery needs.

I went in to get the remaining wisdom teeth I have removed as it came unexpectedly. Dr. Shin was professional and very attentive. He explained what he was going to do and made sure I was comfortable during the entire procedure. I went with local anesthesia. He was vocal in letting me when I’d feel pressure and checked in on me when I was wincing to make sure I wasn’t in any pain. The procedure went by quickly as I only had two that were removed.

Dr. Shin is a great oral surgeon! My daughter needed her wisdom teeth extracted and Dr. Shin explained the process thoroughly answering my many questions and addressing my concerns. Does an amazing job of keeping up with patients directly! You can reach him through his cellphone so he’ll always respond during most of the day including night. He was able to help me with my post surgical nausea the day of and did not have to go back in. Highly recommend for wisdom teeth removal, I was in and out before I even knew it.

Dr.Shin is a phenomenal surgeon. I called the office today with an abcessed tooth and the office in Marietta worked me in right away. Dr Shin was fantastic. Coming from a dentist as a father I would not write this if he didnt deserve it. Procedure was quick and provided minimal discomfort during recovery. I highly appreciated that he called me personally as soon as the results were in instead of making me wait several more weeks for my follow up appointment. Highly recommend.

I had a great experience overall with Dr. Shin. He performed an excision of some bone in my mandible, and had it sent off for a biopsy. I recovered quickly and didnt feel much pain, which I attribute to his operating skills. He was also quick to update me when the results of the biopsy came back nonmalignant, which I appreciated.I had an issue with my health insurance not accepting the claims related to the procedure without a letter of medical necessity and other documentation from Dr. Shin. He followed up with me personally to ensure that this was taken care of. This is a doctor that has shown exemplary care, values his patients, and in my experience is exceptional at what he does. Recently visited Dr Shin to have an upper palate abnormality checked out and biopsied. Dr Shin was very thorough during my consultation and did an excellent job of explaining the issues and his recommendation to remove the required tissue and have it looked at for potential issues. His staff followed up quickly to set up a time for the procedure. The day of the procedure went extremely well from the efficiency and quality of his staff to Dr Shin’s reassuring manner. I was very happy to have found Dr Shin and highly recommend him to anyone requiring the services he provides.

The initial consultation was excellent. Dr Shins office is clean and the staff very friendly. Their equipment is very up to date, which helped with my disabled son getting X-Rays. On Dr Shin himself, I cannot say enough good things. He is extremely professional but also personable. All went smoothly leading up to my sons wisdom teeth surgery at Northside Hospital. The surgery went completely smoothly, and Dr Shin did a great job before and after explaining everything. I was frankly amazed at the job he did. There was almost no swelling and after a few days you could not even tell there had been any extraction. I would thoroughly recommend Dr Shin to anyone.

Dr. Shin was fantastic- I went to get my one and only wisdom tooth removed, and everything went smoothly. He consulted me thoroughly regarding my options of going under anesthesia or just using local anesthesia. I opted to just use laughing gas and local anesthesia.As far as the day of the extraction, the entire process, from when I walked in the office to when I left, took less than 30 minutes. I didnt feel much pain after the surgery either, although I did swell up a little bit.Overall, Im very satisfied with Dr. William Shin. He is very kind, very skilled, and really knows what he is doing. I would be very comfortable trusting him with any family or friends.

Wisdom Teeth Extraction. As an older Patient, There was a chance of having nerve Damage. MY case was severe with the Bottom WT’s impacting my Molars.I went out and woke up with all the work complete. What an amazing surgeon! Dr. Shin removed a supernumary tooth for my 6 year old son. Due to its size, a surgeon in NYC told us we would have to have it removed in the hospital under full anesthesia. We were so happy when Dr. Shin confidently told us he could do it in office with minimal down time and only sedation and local anesthesia. We found Dr. Shin to be personable, straightforward, and very child-friendly. The staff were all lovely and made my son feel at ease.Dr. Shin is such an expert and extracted this large supernumary tooth without pain or down time. My son was back to himself the same day! Had my two bottom wisdom teeth pulled today. Dr. Shinn & his assistant (not sure if she is always with him) Tammy were incredible! They made me feel comfortable & the procedure took less than 10 minutes. I even had one tooth that had a terrible cavity - that tooth took a couple pulls because of the chipping, but I felt NOTHING. I also paid a few bucks extra for laughing gas, but it was completely worth it. Would recommend him to anyone! Thanks, Dr. Shin!

I was visiting family in Atlanta and one of my tooth decided to have an abscess that week. I was in panic mode because I was in so much pain. My dentist had recommended me to have the tooth pulled however I never got around to get that done. I did a quick search and Dr. Shin came highly recommended. They were able to get me in the same day and took care of my tooth in no time. Despite his busy schedule, Dr. Shin took the time to explain the procedure to me. He even cracked a few jokes to make me feel less anxious. Once I was numbed, he took the tooth out in less than 15 min! He was quick, and I did not have any discomfort after that. Dr. Shin is TOP NOTCH! NO, this is not an animated review! I am a real person, believe me!!! This is actually my first time leaving a review. So, my experience was definitely something that I have to share. Dr.Shin is very knowledgeable about his craft and I trust him with anything regarding my teeth, jaw, and mouth in general. He will keep the conversation honest and forthright. But he is very sentimental and sympathetic to the subject of teeth, and mouth problems. He understands your pain and he can pinpoint the exact issue (and sometimes the issue is something you would have never thought of). Here is my story.....It all started with some pain in my jaw one morning. VERY VERY painful; just weird. Then, by that afternoon, I was in so much pain my face had swelled up LIKE OMG I DIDNT recognized myself. I couldnt open/shut my mouth all the way, my teeth were misaligned, and I couldnt chew food very well. WITHOUT EXTREME PAIN. Ibuprofen, Aleve, and Tylenol INSAIDS I HAPPEN TO BE ALLERGIC so I felt like I was dying no pain medications. So I was sent to the HOSPITAL from work. They referred me to Dr.William K Shin DDS MS. I called the office and they made a appointment for me the same day. THANK GOD! I never knew his office would be a blessing in disguise. I was afraid and in so much PAIN. Dr. Shin told me I was going to have surgery. I couldn’t believe what was happening. I had have my tooth pulled Immediately (local anesthesia). My face has swelled up that BADLY I COULDNT BREATHE!! Let me tell you I was scared as H*LL. My insurance was giving me the run around with approval process mess. He made me fell so comfortable his nurses and staff made me fell like family. They was so understanding. And, I just met him and his whole staff 15 MINS Ago. Dr. Shin and his Nurses made sure I understood everything before having the surgery an I had knowledge of exactly what was going to happen; but keep in mind he will be very upfront & honest with you and what is best for you. Each case will be differ. Dr. Shin was GOD SENT! It felt weird at first after the surgery but trust me it got so so much better and easier. After A day OR SO, my symptoms are as if they never existed!!! I recognized MYSELF IN THE MIRROR AGAIN. Because I looked like HITCH (WILL SMITH MOVIE) However like all surgeries, you experience some pain. But I was able to return back to work with very minimum downtime!! He kept in contact with me. If you are looking for a professional and absolutely honest person you want to see Dr. Shin. I came into his office for an evaluation on a cracked tooth that already had a crown from a previous dentist. I was thinking, best case scenario a root canal with new crown and worst case scenario extraction w/implant...both of which would be costly. He shared with me his evaluation and offered me treatment that benefited me first and foremost instead of the most expensive route. The procedure itself as perfect and the follow up was wonderful. Best of all, no more pain. Only have positive things to say about Dr. Shin!

August 2018 my son went in for tooth extraction little did we know 1 year later my son is still suffering from severe pain. After surgery, we have been in his office once a week for the past 2 months. We were also told that it was dry socket, and was also prescribing pain pills. My son has suffered because of Dr. William Shin. My son has been to the ER twice since the tooth extraction because of this. Nov 2018 I demanded that we went to see a neurologist and he was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia also known as nerve damage. During the tooth extraction they damage his nerve. I would not recommend anyone to have any Extraction at Georgia Oral and Facial Surgery. Now my son have to have the Nerve to his tooth repair. Dr. William Shin was his Oral Surgeon.

I cant tell you much about my surgery because all I remember is Dr. Shin asking me how am I doing when he walked in to the room and than next thing I know hes asking me how am I doing and everything already over with. I know that its unbelievable: but trust and believe I had absolutely no pain not even for a minute after a surgery to a point I havent use any of my pain meds (and I have extremely low pain tolerance usually for absolutely everything). I visited Dr. Shins office on May 2018 to remove my infected fistula and metal plates, its located on the left bottom jaw. Dr. Shin is very friendly and generous that I asked him so many questions before surgery and post surgery follow up, he took his time and answered all my questions breifly and well.His staff members are angels! They treated me like how patients supposed to be treated. My surgery was quick and it went really well. Two weeks after the surgery, I dont feel pain on the spot where I got the surgery and its almost done healing!I had couple oral surgeons that looked over my jaws and got the surgery from them but overall, I would say Dr. Shin is the best one beacuse He is very skilled.
