I have good experiences with the Schenecatady and Clifton Park locations but the Albany location I would avoid. It appears that they over book and their system of getting information from the front desk to back clinical area is very poor. I sat the waiting room for 40 min only to inquire and find out the information didn’t appear in the back. She then told me they would come right out to get me and it was still another 15 min.

Great doctors. I have a rare condition with my eyes where I tear the retina several times a year in each eye. The doctors here saved my eyesight in both eyes many times over with various surgeries. I now have perfect 120/120 eyesight and with stable retinas.

I had the most thorough eye exam given to me in my lifetime. The visit was so well run, and there was no time wasted. Each segment of the exam was well performed, and I will be returning. Dr. Ebbing was so clear and informative about my results. I will be recommending Dr. Ebbing and his staff to my friends!

I have been a patient at Ophthalmic Consultants of the Capital Region for many years, specifically with Dr. Robert Sax. I chose him for his expertise with diabetic eyes. Last week, I called because I was concerned about a vision change. They could not fit me in with Dr. Sax immediately, so I saw Dr. Cosa-Nuovo the next morning. She was excellent to work with, but she recommended I also see Dr. Sax for follow-up, which was scheduled within the week. On seeing him today, he quickly assessed the problem and treated one of my eyes with Laser surgery. It is already improving. The second surgery is also scheduled. Great office, all the staff and technicians are professional and friendly.

If I could leave this provider no stars I would. I dropped my grandfather off for an appointment for laser. After waiting in the car for over an hour in a half, I went inside to see how much longer it would be. He was still sitting in the waiting room--the receptionist stated she did not know why he was not seen. I asked if he checked in they stated they received his paperwork. I explained that I needed to run and pick up my daughter and would return to pick him up. Came back 20 minutes later the office was locked and all the lights were off. They never called to inform me his appointment was done. He walked home after having laser.

I came here for my son today that has a scratch in his eye. Our appointment was at 3:00...it is 4:30 and I have seen 4 different people, techs, doctors, nurses, etc. Still have no solution and was just told by the front desk that most appointments here take 2 hours. Maybe you should stop overlooking and see you patients in time...absolutely ridiculous to wait around for 2 hours to be seen.

Dr. Bianchi was good but the billing office is horrible. I received a bill after a regular annual visit appointment, I called multiple times and explained that my insurance company fully covered this visit. My vision insurance paid my appointment, however the bill office wanted that I pay two times, why ? I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️ I did only one appointment. The worst part was when this office sent my bill to collection agency, and offered to me paid them to correct the bill as a the resolution. At the beginning I was reluctantly accepted it because it was unfair. However, I didn’t want to be reported to the national credit agencies and I paid todo this office. The bill office knew their error but said “ Pay us and then we will fixed the mistake”I have sent multiple letters and email, until now I have never received a answer from this office.I hope somebody can read this notification, send me a answer and return my money.

The whole experience at the Albany location was easy and efficient. They seem to get a lot more patients than other eye doctors, but I was seen quickly and given plenty of individual attention. Dr. Ebbing was great and so were all of the techs and assistants. Their system is sort of like an assembly line, where you get brought from room to room for different parts of the appointment. They are highly organized, attentive, and super friendly, which is probably why the system works so well for them. Also, the coronavirus protocols are strict, which made me feel comfortable being indoors with a relatively large number of people. They also take most insurance plans and the glasses prices are fair.

Does anyone introduce themselves anymore? Its one thing to say my name is ____and this is what we are going to do, than to sit down at the computer type some things in and come at your eye with drops and stuff. From the person that brings you to the room, to the eye tech and even the doctors too. We are people, lets treat all with respect.

Called the billing office about a question I had with a bill today and the lady that answered was the rudest person I have ever met in my life, barking at me and telling me that I am wrong and that my insurance did not cover my visit when she was 100% wrong as my insurance provider called them after and got everything cleared up for me. I don’t think I will be going back to this place after the experience I had with their billing department. I have met nicer workers at Walmart than this lady. I don’t understand how someone can be so rude to a customer. If I could leave no stars I would, that lady needs to go.

I booked an appointment and told them my insurance changed and they said no problem we take that insurance. They took my new insurance information and put it in there system. I show up for my appointment and go through the covid questionnaire then filled out medical questionnaire. She then asks for m6 license and card. Then she said the Dr who they made my appointment with does not take that insurance but others do in practice. So I would have to reschedule for another day as they where not in office. I drove 45 minutes each way and took morning off from work. I will not return and very unprofessional

I saw 3 different doctors, all of whom were egomaniacs. The wait time at each appointment is ridiculously long. Don’t plan anything else for the day. One time I sat in a room for 40Minutes, got bored and walked down the hall. The “doctor” I was waiting for was in his office reading the newspaper. During the cataract surgery the “doctor” scratched my eye resulting in 2 weeks of hell. They suggested $5k special lenses but forgot to mention they dry your eyes out. To dat, still not right. Discomfort daily. Do yourself a favor - run the other way from this practice. One star is too much

All staff treat patients with kindness and respect. Each Dr. has a specialty at which they are excellent, which is both a blessing and a curse. Ive been a patient here for many years. At any one time I am scheduled to see no fewer than 3 opthalmologists. Each Dr. routinely schedules me to see another for a particular reason. Ive seen so many that, at this visit, Dr. Rabadi asked me who my primary Dr. here was and I was unable to answer because I thought he was, since I have seen him longer and and more often than any other. He decided that one particular Dr. I had seen only once when another was not available, was my primary and scheduled me for a visit with that Dr. in 3 months after I told him about a recurring problem affecting my vision now, but not giving me any guidance on how to address the problem in the meantime. In my opinion, this results in too much fragmentation. I have a masters degree, but would be unable to tell you whom here is treating me for what at any given point in time. So for the next 3 months I am left treating the problem I currently present on my own, which should never be the case. They need to overlap a lot better than they do now, but, that said, each is incredible at his/her specialty and I have no intention of going elsewhere.

My primary concern with this place is the wait time. I went there few days back as I got a conjunctivitis infection. That day i waited around 2 hours before a doctor came and checked. I was sitting in the room with lights off(i was sensitive to light); i seriously thought that they have forgotten me.Today i went for a follow-up checkup at 9AM(reached at 8:45am), i waited till 10:15 to be seen by a doctor. He came for 2 minutes, checked and left. Now I am not commenting on his expertise but the wait time is killing. As my eyes were doing fine, I guessed it will take half an hour or 45 min max, hence informed my office people that i will be back by 9:45(place is like 5 min from my office). Left at 10:22 as there was a long line at checkout counter. I actually didnt check out as I couldnt wait any longer(had an urgent meeting at 10:30).I would recommend this place if you have lot of time to spare or can take half a day off on the day of your check-up. Could it be that it was a chance that i had to wait for so long two times consequently..might be..but I didnt hear other patients cribbing about it too...so may be not!The staff is polite and nice though!

I never saw such great efficiency in a place of business as at Ophthalmic Consultants. With the many technical details to take care of and the large number of patients to attend to there was never a flustered moment. The doctors and personnel seem to work together seamlessly and with such reassuring joy.The honesty and integrity is evident in every step of the procedure because the doctors will tell you the facts with compassion and understanding.I was told that my cataracts were not advanced far enough to warrant removal at this time. For me its wait and see. As I get older I may need the cataract operation. If I do, I know I will have knowledgeable, friendly and highly experienced doctors to take care of it.

Worst experience ever. If I could post a negative star, I would.I waited over one hour for the technician to perform tests. Then almost 2 hours more to be seen by doctor. Only to be told that my eye was inflamed (I knew THAT going in). I was prescribed two different drops for my eye, and was told the prescription would be called into my pharmacy. They phoned it into a pharmacy I had never heard of in Texas - and despite 7 different phone calls to this practice, I NEVER received the medication. (This was two months ago!)In this day and age, this is beyond unacceptable. Run, dont walk, to the next doctor.

Great techs and friendly staff thus 1 star. It’s completely unprofessional and unacceptable to be in the office for over two and a half hours. 2.5+ hours to see a Dr. for 5 minutes, and the techs not more than 15 minutes. I would have gladly rescheduled, again, as my post op appt was pushed back a week already. They wanted me to come back to update my prescription glasses. Not a chance! Would not come back under any circumstance. I was offered the opportunity to speak to a manager, for what, a gift card? I didn’t have more time to waste.

Staff is friendly and professional however the wait time is very unprofessional. I am here with my two girls. We were 30 min late going into the room, an hour later the basics were done, they dilated their eyes and told us it would be 30 min before the Dr would see them. If I showed up two hours late for my appointments my clients would hire someone else to SELL their house. I have come here to see Dr Carpenter for 5 years myself. I dont have this much time to waste and will have to find a new eye doctor.Update: the 30 min wait to see the Dr is now 50 min and counting.

(Posted on behalf of, and written by, Carol Valentine). In 2017 I was diagnosed with macular degeneration. To my horror, I learned my treatment would consist of monthly injections directly in the eye. Ever so thankful, I found myself in the outstanding care of Dr. David Rabady and the staff at Ophthalmic Consultants of the Capital Region. They have made all the difference in making what could be a frightening and intimidating experience, a positive and anxiety free one. I find Dr. Rabady to be professional, articulate, dedicated, and above all compassionate and understanding. His vast expertise and knowledge are fierce weapons in the battle of this intense disease. His staff is also the best of the best! They are professional, well-trained, kind, and always so helpful. As for me, my vision has improved and the time between injections has lengthened (a sign of good care!). Thank you Dr. Rabady and staff. I could not fight the good fight without you. I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know.P.s. my husband, Mike, has also become a recent patient of Dr. Rabady’s and I can rest easy knowing he’s in extremely good hands.

During my appointment , I had about 15mins in the lobby, 30 mins after first checkup and then again for 15 mins , they asked me wait again, but I had to go. Got it rescheduled. While waiting I was talking to older couple their wait was worst than me. Even my followup calls with them also very patchy. Let me see how it goes next time.
