Dr Epstein was very thorough and left no stone unturned. I saw her for my headaches and occasional double vision. After performing all of the tests, she ordered me an MRI so that we could rule out anything major. She was very professional and personable and she actually listened to everything I complained about. I recommend Dr Epstein to everyone, as she was an amazing Dr from start to finish. She was also great with my kids when I brought them into my appointment with me.

I saw Dr. Victoria Epstein, DO for what I described as “everything having a blurry edge or border and never having sharp clarity” (despite glasses for astigmatism and my many eye exams that stated my vision was “perfect”). She quickly determined that I had slight double vision that was causing my issues. Never would I have guessed double vision was it. Within two minutes of being in the chair, she stated I kept my head turned slightly to compensate. She corrected the double vision with a prism and I was amazed. How could she possibly know that so fast when I had been describing this problem for years, and no one could help me?!?! She is professional, takes her time, and answered all of my questions. She never made me feel rushed or ignored.I went back to see her for my eye twitch I was having since February and she did Botox (similar medication but don’t remember the name) into the muscles and it stopped. It was driving me crazy!!!! And in just a few minutes it was over. She is the best!

I made an appointment with Dr. Epstein for my third graders first eye exam. I was surprised that at Albany Eye Associates, where Dr. Epstein sees patients, nearly the entire exam is done by a technician, not by Dr. Epstein herself. That was very different than my own experiences being seen by many different ophthalmologists over the years as I have lived in different places -- usually my entire exam is done by the doctor. In our case, being examined by the tech was a terrible experience, very traumatic to my daughter, because the technician seemed to have little experience and no rapport with children, did not explain what she was doing, etc. We saw Dr. Epstein very briefly at the end of the visit, and she also seemed to make little effort to treat this patient as A CHILD. She seemed to scold my daughter for having difficulty deciding whether A or B lens options helped her see better, and told me that next time my daughter and I need to get on the same page about dilation (which the technician had attempted, but which my daughter found extremely painful and was sobbing). I asked Dr. Epstein how the practice dealt with this with other children and she replied flippantly, We have a lot of crying and screaming. As we exited, I was handed a eyeglass prescription that didnt make sense to me based on what Id observed during my daughters exam. I decided to take her for a second opinion, and that ophthalmologist came up with a different prescription. (In fairness, the second doctor said that while she felt her own prescription would be better for my daughter, she didnt think Dr. Epsteins was bad and said it would not have caused harm.)Its possible that Dr. Epstein is knowledgeable and works well with adult patients (I dont know). I would not recommend her for patients who are children, and will not be returning to her.

Put my husband through a battery of tests over the course of months and couldnt figure out why he was losing vision in one of his eye. We went to a different ophthalmologist and he quickly diagnosed my husbands issue. His retina had detached! How a neuro ophthalmologist couldnt properly diagnose this issue is unfathomable. My recommendation is to go somewhere else - dont waste your time.
