First before I post anything, I understand everyone has their own opinions but I don’t see where or why the bad reviews are posted on here.My situation was different, I’m 35 and I had foot surgery - my apartment was not accommodating at all. I needed more help.Right off the rip, Jackie was so warm and kind, answered all my questions and got me in as soon as possible. All the aides and nurses were amazing - they are the real superhero’s that’s for sure.Michelle, was always readily available to answer questions and get things done.Shelby, Vickie, and Casey helped me with physical and occupational therapy while I was there, they taught me ways to get around.Kirby, the maintenance man was attentive and quick if anything happened.I’ve never stayed in a facility like this, I’m stubborn and try and do things on my own, and they didn’t make me feel bad for needing help.I can honestly say I will miss being there. If your looking for a good, honest, caring place = give them a shot, don’t focus on just negative reviews.

I needed a new facility for my husband and called Windsong for a tour. I had scheduled about 10 tours over the next fee days and was frustrated, scared and unsure of where his next placement would be. I met with Jackie Medvetz who gave me the tour. She was kind and knowledgeable. As we walked around Windsong, what first impressed me was the cleanliness of the facility. No smells like patients arent being cared for and I do realize that a lot of nursing homes have had it hard since covid. All of the staff I met from aides, nurses to the professional staff (director of nursing, the director, physical therapist, ect) were genuinely friendly. The residents that I saw were all clean and cared for. I was shown what area my husband would go to be going to(long-term care). I felt so peaceful as I was leaving because I had made my decision and I called Jackie back on my way home. My husband was transferred there two days later. I have only regret- that I didnt move him here SOONER!! Hes thriving here and making friends with residents and he has lots of jokes for staff! He loves getting fresh air and enjoying the family room with the fireplace and fish tank. I catch him in there snoozing with a few friends very frequently. Hes so busy that 90% of the time when I go visit I have to track him down!If you are looking for a GOOD nursing home for your loved one, look no further Windsong Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center is ready and available to assist you.The staff at Windsong Nursing Home treats you and your loved ones like family. The Johnson Family is now part of Windsong Family.

I absolutely love this facility. In spite of the difficulties of the pandemic, they still manage to make it feel like a home. So many facilities feel sterile and unwelcoming. This place feels lived-in and fun. It has a different energy, and I love being here. If I had to make the difficult choice to seek out long term care for a loved one, this would be my first choice.

My dad was just moved to this facility from Summa rehab. It takes 1 hour for someone to come to the room after pushing the call light. As a family member walking in this place is like a ghost town. No one working is around to r checking on patients. There is no rounding by staff and no checking on patients you can barely find someone to be able to exit the building since it is securely locked. My dad asked for help going to bed the lady looked for help then came back and said she can’t find anyone and left. No one helped him to bed and he can’t walk

My relative has been in this facility for several months now. The level of care is NOT there. They leave her urine bag over flowing for hours while her urine backs up creating more infection. Bernard talks a good game and every one of his responses I see is that it is unacceptable and he will handle it. Still no changes. There are 56 residents and several times a week only 3 workers per shift for the whole facility. I realize the pandemic is involved and people don’t want to work, there are temp services you can call to get workers. No one wants to take responsibility for the problems this place has! I don’t understand how this place is still open! My relatives health has severely declined since being in this facility. The wets spot is urine that’s been leaking from her bag for hours!! If this don’t change I will be calling the necessary people to handle this matter. Bernard PLEASE don’t patronize me and tell me how this is a serious matter and you take all concerns seriously. Clearly you don’t care or a year later the same issues wouldn’t be happening. THESE RESIDENTS ARE BEING NEGLECTED AND SHOULD BE SHUT DIWN PERIOD!!!

My mother was recently a patient at Windsong in Akron, Ohio for approximately one month. She received exceptional care and support from all the staff members. Everyone genuinely was working toward my mom getting better as soon as possible after suffering a broken ankle. Thank you to Bernard, Brenda, Michelle, Kim J, Kim H. and Shelby for making my mom feel like family.

My husband was in this facility and loved being there. He liked all of his nursing care givers. His nurses Sharon and Brenda were so good with him. The aides gave him such good care never stripping him of his dignity. My whole family appreciated the care, and the relief we felt of him being in a good facility. I thank God for guiding us there. Thank you Windsong, you are a blessing!! Keep up the great work.

My dad was a rehab patient at Winding Nursing & Rehab where he was treated with dignity and respect. The nursing staff did everything in their power to make him comfortable and to ensure that all his needs were met. I will not forget the care that ws given to him during his short stay. I would recommend this facility to others. Thank you to all who were involved in my dads care. I cant thank you enough for all you did for him!

Since Ive come here things have gotten much better. I feel that in the long run things will be a lot better because the new administration really cares about the people and the facility itself.

My mom came to Windsong for her care and Rehab after her heart attack. She was so impressed with the therapy team and proud of her progress that she made in the facility. She was not ready to go home after her hospital stay and Windsong worked with her and got her there! Thank you.In addition, my father-n-law was here for a rehab stay that went very well and he is continuing to improve at home with his in-home therapy. He has the same therapist at home as he had here in the building.

Was told changes will be made. Her we are and still no changes. Majority of the aids dont care and need further training. They act like they are just there to collect a paycheck. Was there tonight and I really got mad. Call light was on for over an hour and no one bothered to see what my mom needed. We finally turned call light off because we got mad. We left like 45 minutes later and still no aides to even check on mom. Just because were there doesnt mean they dont need to check on the patient .For gods sake they get paid for this. Also seems like everytime we are out there mom has been soiled and you can tell pad has been on her all day. Also several several times I have went out to visit mom and aids were parked in handicap spot.

I came to windsong recently for a short rehab stay. I have been in and out of this facility a couple of times. Since the owners of the building took back operations this place is amazing. The new therapy company is 10 times better than before. I would definitely come back if i need to.

Terrible terrible place. We thought with new owners it would be a better place. Unfortunately its not. Very low staffing, and most of the staff do not care properly for the patients. Leaving them in wet and soiled diapers for hours. They dont check like theyre supposed to. This was on several occasions even after speaking directly to the owner. I would not reccomend this place to anyone. If they dont want to take care of patients the right way then they are in the wrong business. Disgusting and sad.

The old adage about not judging a book by its cover is probably true or at least what I’ve found in my case during my most recent illness. I needed to receive treatment to make me strong enough to return to my INDEPENDENT lifestyles. I am a resident of Brookdale Montrose and needed help in attaining my goal of taking care of myself with a little help from my friends. While searching through reviews of potential places for recuperation and recovery, my director of resident services nursing suggested that I choose Windsong. I was reluctant to do so because I heard negative things regarding this place in the past. But I trusted the director and opted for Windsong because of the proximity to Brookdale Montrose and the recommendation of its nursing director.I found to my amazement that I had chosen well. First I met the young man, Bernard, who is the owner AND administrator. His professionalism is to commended. Then I met an African American nurse who exemplifies what is best in the nursing profession. In this rather small facility I found someone who is named the same as me, that is Sandra Kay. Additionally, I talked to some residents and staff. One resident told me that in another facility she fell, and so she moved to Windsong and has been taken care WITH NO FALLS, a major problem for seniors. Staff to whom I’ve talked liked management and in particularly, Bernard ,who does almost any task, including calling BINGO. (BINGO is another love of seniors and rates it highly in their social life). The one thing I disliked from the beginning of my stay and continue to do so) is the FOOD. (editorial comment: management has hired new personnel to address this problem). Not everything was bad—I liked the homemade Brownies (wanted seconds, but they were out), noodles, cabbage & polish sausage were good. I tended the CEO’s meeting yesterday with residents and people who deal with food, asking for their input. VERY POSITIVE!!! I saw their faces, and they seemed excited and happy to be included. Before I rewrite the OED, I will finalize by saying that I was treated well, enjoyed my recuperation, and will definitely recommend WINDSONG as a place where one is treated with dignity and resources to aid in one’s recovery.Respectfully submitted, SANDRA K FORTNER

Very bad facility. My mother died less than 9 hours of being there at the age of 67. She passed away before they did her admission paperwork. They called the very next day insisting I needed sign papers so the can recieve payment for few hours my mother was there.

Low staff, unpleasant customer service. What they advertise is very untrue as the training for their staff is not consistent with the care they advertise for their residents. Their food is terrible. The majority of the staff does not have the compassion needed to work in this type of facilities.
