The staff in pre-op were nice and knowledgeable. My nurses and aides overnight were very caring and helpful. One brought me some Graham crackers about 3:00 AM because I was hungry having missed meals all day. The day staff were also very helpful in getting me up and walking. I appreciated all of them.

The overall staff was great. Very good care. The only problem I had was with dietary. I had a one day surgery and had to eat before I could leave. I asked for a turkey sandwich. There was not a sandwich to be found. We were 2 hours from home. The time it took to check out we could have been home. Excellent care.

For the most part we had a wonderful experience at our stay with Wesley. There were some staff that didn’t seem to know what they were doing and made us feel unwelcome during the birth of our girl. We however had some incredible staff that made us forget about all of the negative ones. Overall we would say a 4 as there’s always room for improvement. Becky the nurse we had in the birthing suite is the best just so everybody knows. She was hands down the best and with us the longest during our stay. Thank you for all your hard work!

Its sad because Im a former employee. So, this story is not recent. But after years Im able to remember it sadly. It was in 2018, I had gotten into a car accident. I guess I hit my head pretty hard. I blacked out and when I came to, I was in the Wesley ER... and I was also screaming. I had no idea I was screaming!!! I apologize. But, the staff was very cold to me and communication was not present at all. I had to lay supine with a neck brace for hours and was already still very confused from the accident. Apparently EMS cut my clothes off. When I told them I needed clothes, the tech came in and just threw them in my direction and walked away. They seemed very annoyed with me. They didnt help me up out of the bed when it was time for me to go. My sister had to help me. The doctor was the nicest person there.

This bad experience is regarding the loss of our belonging while staying at Wesley hospital in Wichita. In the 1st week of August 2021, our 93 years old mom admitted & stayed there for a week. After mom returned home, we realized that her gold necklace with a diamond cross shape pendant was missing. We reported this right away back to Guest Service at the hospital. They were very nice and looked for it but no luck after several phone calls back and forth for weeks. It is sad to share this story but hope that if you or your loved ones have to admit to hospital should not wear any valuable jewelry.

This second time I attended the ER was a much better experience since their waiting time wasn’t as long as the last time I went in for care. My stay was filled with so much attention around my need by many departments including ICU, I went trough a series of test and care like I’d never experienced in a lifetime. The nurses and Doctors involved were very attentive and kept me in the loop of my condition although my stay.., I want to thank each and everyone involved all the way to the cleaning staff and the kitchen carriers but it would be impossible to be done without this survey so I want to say plain and simply “ Thank You Very much for all you did on my behalf”. From the moment I walked in the door until someone helped me out, I felt welcome, cared about, and respected. The staff was awesome. Having to get the tests to determine the extent of my newly diagnosed cancer was something I dreaded. I arrived scared and worried. But the staff managed to make the event a comfortable and hopeful one. In fact, they actually made me smile and enjoy new friends as we shared our lives and hearts. Indeed, they even made me laugh (appropriately)- something I really needed at that time! Five stars for everyone from the one who wheeled me to radiology through the whole procedure! Thank you.

Quick to get vitals and back to a room. I know at least one of my doctors called ahead to let triage know to expect me and why. Jeannette was great and made me feel a sigh of relief that I was in good thanks and could just sit and allow the excellent ED staff take over with skill and care. Dr. Mosley was open to discussing the plan with my multiple outside medical teams to formulate a plan and then asked for my agreement. Even though I was in a Covid mental fog, I was absolutely confident his plan was the best possible course of treatment. I especially appreciated that he physically sat down to get my history, though my mind was functioning poorly at best, he indulged my meandering history. He saw likely dozens just like me that day, but still gave me his full attention. I’m feeling much better and am back to work. I’m grateful for the CARE I always receive at Wesley.

A long wait with no information, seemed cavalier about a broken leg and left us waiting in the metaphorical dark for hours.I understand that it was quite busy when we arrived, but my husband waited hours and hours for anyone to see him. He broke his ankle badly and we were stuck in a room in the back with little to no attentiveness or information. Very little information was given about his break or what kind of cast would be given. People flitted in and out of our room without doing anything, and his broken foot was bumped multiple times by careless staff. 99% of the staff was extremely kind and thoughtful, I want to make that clear, I just dont appreciate the carelessness around a broken bone.Overall, I understand that a busy hospital is busy, and there are problems more vital than a broken bone, but it took hours to get any pain medication, and hours more for anyone to see him. We are still waiting for his cast or splint or whatever to be put on, after almost 4 hours the orthopedic specialist has not arrived. The info keeps changing depending on who is talking, which makes me nervous. This injury could affect him for the rest of his life and there is not much of a sense of urgency about it. I know our experience is not unique, but it feels like we are being totally ignored (is it because we dont have insurance?)In the end, I know the people that work here are doing their best, and they DO care. But there are some serious flaws in the chain of communication and administration that made our visit very unpleasant.EDIT: Very shortly after I posted this, we were attended to in a very caring and professional manner. Like I said, the staff is fantastic, the process just needs to be streamlined for painful intakes, we have been here for 5 hours.

My father was admitted to Wesley for gallbladder surgery that did not happen. We spent 5 days of a roller coaster ride of going to do the surgery then not doing the surgery because he was considered too high risk. Sent us home hoping antibiotics will fix the issue. There were very long periods of no communication from the doctors. Twice I had to state the obvious of no communication in order for a doctor to appear. Also, we were never told that they were changing his food consumption. He went 72 hours with only a bowl of broth and some jello!! Again roller coaster ride and no decisions. The all of a sudden he has a regular meal in front of him!! Again no communication from anyone. The nurses didnt even know!! The only reason I rated a 2 star is because the nurses and nurse assistants were totally outstanding. They were the ones who my dad felt cared about him and his health. They are the real heroes in this issue. They need to be commended for their service and hard work. My dad isnt sure if he wants to come back after all that happened.

The Nurse receiving patients in the door (8:00am on July 26, 2021), rude to everyone!! We understand that you might be overworked, might be understaffed and probably very tired. Doesn’t make it right that patients get treated like garbage. I’m here with a patient and what I’ve witnessed…is down right sad!!! I have nurses in my family, I have friends that are nurses and they said patients shouldn’t be Treated like that!! I also agree that nurses shouldn’t be treated like garbage!!! However, the way these nurses are treating patients is embarrassing!! This is the career you’ve chosen!!! I’m so unhappy with this hospital!! When do the nurses get held accountable for their nasty behavior?? One lady waited for an hour to get her ice pack. Another gentleman was in so much pain, he left because they were so rude. He was going somewhere else. I felt bad for him. Another man was trying to explain to the nurse that his wife gets blood stuff done often and that she needed certain things because they’ve done this for awhile now and they were rude to him. Three different situations and the same treatment from the nurses!!! I would not recommend this hospital!!!!!

I am hopeful my feelings get spread to those who need to hear it, and trust me you rank just as bad as Ascension Via Christi Hospitals....you dont get to use what you created as the reason of the problem, when it was a global pandemic your nurses were heros, now they dont care about anything other then the narrative, is that patient vaccinated! After complaining that he couldn’t stand or sit up without feeling like he’s gonna pass out they offer him a wheelchair. That’s it. After suffering long enough in the waiting room showing clear symptoms of COVID he decided to leave & go to via Christi where he tested positive for COVID and was treated. Being admitted as a covid patient I believe that the staff lacks communication skills with their patients. Instead of informing the patient their plan of action or what they are currently doing to them. They stay quiet leaving patient not understanding and scared of what is happening. Then when the patient is panicking because something is being shoved on their face and strapped down not knowing what it is or how it works but feel like their being suffocated the doctors claim that the patient has anxiety or mental disorder. The care from the nurses causes mental disorders to a person who has no history of mental disorder. Not to mention leaving patients in wait while they need to use that bathroom to the point that they have urine running down their legs. Also the resident doctors of the LDR department have the least sympathy for you. I was told I was going to kill my baby after being released by a high risk specialist and the resident OB disagreed with her judgement and thought she had the right to say that to me. Strongly debating legal action for emotional distress of myself and my baby.

My husband smashed his thumb in a door and the fingernail was already turning black and all they did was give him narcotics. We ended up back in minor emergency the next day where they finally burned holes thru the fingernail to release the pressure which helped bring down the swelling. His thumb being 3 times its normal size. Why wasnt this done at the ER during our first visit? Now we have a hospital bill and minor emergency room bill.

Other than a simple 1st miss for an IV (and it can happen to anyone + no problems whatsoever), theWesley experience was safe, efficient, and professional. This includes the check-in and Covid precautions as well as endoscopy. The procedure was tolerated well, and the surgeon (Dr. Waswick) and staff listened. Thanks for a job well done! The follow-up pathology report was timely and much appreciated, as well as follow up instructions.

I was in the ER from noonish, for a problem my daughter was having. It took her until about 5 pm to be seen, get into an ER examining room. I had not eaten nor drunk anything all day, so at 5 pm I spoke to her nurse and told him I was going to take a break and go eat and I would be back. I spoke to the nurse, stationed right inside the outside doors, as I was leaving. About 5 feet outside the entry/exit doors, the built into the concrete textured tiles for the use of blind folk caught my foot, which would not move. I was already in motion, however, so fell flat over onto my left side, hitting initially on my left forehead. I yelled and many personnel came to help get me up and into a wheelchair. They checked me in and I began my wait to be seen. When I used the toilet next to my daughters room, the seat was wet, even though I had placed a seat cover. Later, there were mystery fluids in quantity enough to be seen, right next to my bed. My care was good, when it became my turn. Dr. Lentz, the ER physician was a darling, kind-hearted man, very much in charge of the situation. My biggest fear was the lack of cleanliness, which Im not sure Ive ever seen in a hospital ER. During my time in a room, I never say anyone washing floors, nor did they approach my room, just dusting of hallway floors.

Overall my experience was great. Dont remember her name, but I did have one nurse that should have assisted me to and from the bathroom after delivering and the epidural hadnt quite worn off yet. She helped me to the bathroom, but not from.

My 93 yo father broke his hip. I got the call and met him in the ER. The customer experience could not have been better. It seemed like every 30 minutes another staff member would brief me. The surgeon himself was in the loop even before leaving the ER. Super accessibility. Tops!!

My young sister was in the Emergency Department for a Seizure. Not only was her care superb, she was spoken to kindly, the staff (including providers), spent ample time discussing and explaining each step of care to both my sister and parents, and to top it all off they listened to our concerns and answered questions patiently and thoughtfully. 10/10 recommend WMC!

Good Nurses and staff. But they really need to have better instruction, about when patients are to be released. Dr told my mom it would be about an hour its now been 3. I know stuff happens but maybe not say when release will be until its for sure. Otherwise satisfied with care.

Initially we had a problem with scheduling of my procedure. Check-in was flawless. Appointment for procedure did not coincide with checkin time due a rescheduling miscommunication. Imaging staff was outstanding in accommodating and adjusting their schedule to eliminate a 3 hour delay for me to get my scan! Very professional staff in your imaging and registration departments!!!

Horribly understaffed sat for 8 hours we were told the chest ex ray was clear only to find out from a doctor the next day it was not and my daughter had pneumonia no communication from the staff, simply because they did not have enough nurses and doctors to even come close to being able to take care of the patients upper management needs to get a handle on this. Your nurses and Doctors are being overworked and yelled at by frustrated patients. This is not the fault of the staff but the management that is not helping them out
