BCBSKS has always been dependable and coverage is good. I can count on them to answer my questîons or find out the answer.

It is very difficult to see what you are covered for. Even if you are covered they can deny your claim. You can request that the claim be reapproved but nothing stops them from denying it again which will require you to lawyer up. Insurance companies can use the money you pay with your premiums to hire a lawyer to fight your claims (AGAINST YOU).BKBS negotiates prices with doctors/hospitals directly (behind your back) and will not let you see the prices until after the procedure or appointment has happened. BKBS gives you the bare minimum coverage provided by law (ACA) such as free (you pay a premium, so nothing is free) baby checkups or well-woman checkups then hides what you are truly responsible for behind a convoluted, outdated, and predatory system. Example:1. Go to hospital for covered procedure.2. Give hospital BKBS insurance info.3. Receive bill. Bill shows procedure as not covered.4. Call BKBS.5. BKBS says procedure was billed under the incorrect code (same procedure, different line item billing number).6. Call doctor to get the code changed to the correct number.7. Doctor says he needs the insurance company to make the request.8. Call BKBS to get them on the phone with hospital. BKBS says they will not deal directly with the patient and doctor at the same time.9. Repeat steps 5-8 in an endless loop until the patient becomes needlessly tired and lets the bill go to collections or pays it.

This insurance company has been the worst I have ever dealt with regarding claims. I would have thought that a simple ER visit would be easy to deal with, but no. It has been three months since that visit and every claim but one has been filed and paid for. A smaller claim on a different day for the same company was even paid for!!!!!!!! I have tried calling and getting this taken care of, but BCBS is either lazy or incompetent or both and cant figure it out. I have grown tired of calling bcbs and getting a bill from this company that I shouldnt have to pay for. It appears that I now have to seek an attorney to take care of this.

They fight you about paying out on any accidental dental claims that are covered In your policy no matter if it’s in network or out of network provider. They make you spend hours and hours on the phone and run you in circles taking to different people and they all tell you different things and they never honor anything that they say.
