Dr Ram is incompetent to my needs his staff is friendly but lately they too seem incompetent i realize he is just a primary doctor with no real specialization into any area related to the body which makes it possible for miscommunication between him his staff and the patient which is me. He doesnt understand my health related problems and sugar coats them.

Dr. Ram has been my husbands and my doctor for over 11 years and he has been one of the best doctors I have been to. The whole staff is wonderful. They know us by name and we never have to wait to see him. He is never over booked and when you call to make an appointment you usually get in the same day or the next day. He is a great, understanding doctor. I have recommended my family members to him and now I have all my family going to him including my 2 adult sons.

Dr. Ram was my mothers doctor for four years. He was prompt, addressed her needs very quickly, was very active in her care, and the communication between he and the caregiver and family was excellent. He never treated my mother but with utmost respect. Thank you Dr. RamJenifer Ratliff and family with Vanessa Alexander caregiver

I wonder how quickly this review will be removed. When I looked at reviews for Dr. Ram a little over a year ago, there were 1 star and 2 star and 3 star reviews scattered with the 5 star. I didnt know Google allowed you to delete them at will, seems kind of pointless.Ive been meaning to write one, just have been waiting for my grief to subside. I brought my dad to Tucson from California to take care of him in June 2016 and needed a PCP right away. No one was taking new patients except Dr. Ram, so we gave him a shot. My dad was very unwell, in a wheelchair, underweight, with black and blue feet that we constantly had to massage and keep in diabetic socks to keep circulation going (he was not a diabetic). He was known to have Multiple Sclerosis and also has been mildly schizophrenic his whole life which had led to caretaker and doctor issues. He was being neglected in CA, so my hope was to find out more clearly what was wrong with him and see if we could at least treat the little things like his feet which gave him constant pain, and check on the status of his MS with a referral to a neurologist. When we met Dr. Ram, I explained my dads medical conditions as best I could and showed him the black and blue feet. Dr. Ram said, Nothing can be done about that. And he recommended we keep using the tight diabetic socks. He sent us to a pain management center because he cant prescribe pain killers for long term or somethung like that. He didnt even want to weigh my dad, he said guess. He hadnt been weighed for a very long time and never with me so I had no idea. My dad blurted out a weight that was completely impossible (schizophrenia) and they put that down. Needless to say, I was not impressed with our first visit. So we went to Tucson Pain Institute as recommended and saw the doctor there. When they asked about the location of his pain, I showed them my dads feet. The doctors jaw dropped. You need a vascular doctor right away!!!!So we went to a cardiovascular doctor. The nurse touched his abdomen and immediately noticed a huge aneurysm. Dr. Ram never had even toched my dad so I guess thats why he didnt notice; he didnt bother to check. The vascular doctor couldnt believe he was alive. My dad had two serious blockages in his legs as well that caused the foot issue. The doctor said all three issues were equally life threatening and that he could go any moment... and that those tight diabetic socks were the worst thing he could be using.Long story slightly less long, 5 surgeries over 6 months. And my dad didnt make it. He died at the end of March this year, 2017.We saw Dr. Ram two other times during the process. One very tense visit to tell him what he missed and he rushed through that. Then he was made to come to the hospital (St. Joes) on one occasion to sign off on something which took 3 hours to get done and said hi.Okay so I get that doctors arent miracle workers. Probably nothing but better luck would have given my dad more time, cause everyone involved apart from Dr. Ram really gave it their all, including my dad himself. Doctors who supposedly specialize in geriatrics should know SOMETHING about recognizing blocked arteries, and maybe should palpatate abdomens once in a while? I mean, my gen practitioner has done it to me and Im in my 30s...Even if this is removed by Dr. Ram, I really hope he will read it and it will serve as a reminder to pay a bit closer attention to his patients. The stars that I am giving are for his office staff who were friendly and seemed to genuinely care.
