Dr. Martinez is my husbands neurologist. He provides very badly needed knowledgeable, competent care with loving kindness, empathy and understanding. We feel blessed to have found him. He probably does not understand just how important he really is to our family. We thank God every day for Dr. Martinez.

Wonderful neurologist, he can help you with just about anything. Easy to get in and out of the parking lot. I would definitely recommend this doctor. I met him at the hospital and changed my neurologist.

I had several horrible experiences here. Waiting multiple times over an hour because they missed my name, rude office staff, lying about sending over medical records to my PCP, Dr. Martinez complete lack of care for my situation and ZERO empathy to a very scary unknown for me. If you dont care how you are treated and dont mind waiting for hours, this is your place. Otherwise, I would highly recommend anywhere else. Small note: Liz from office was very helpful in the end helping me get my records.

Great Dr. but seriously you cannot bill people 2 years later when you never called or emailed within those 2 years to check if the patient had other insurance. Beware the medical billing at this place such as a surprise bill 2 years later!

Ive lived in 5 states & this doc is the best ever. I travel an hour sometimes more due to traffic to see him. The doctor is respectful, patient, knowledgeable, right to the point, sympathetic, kind and much more. I trust him. I understand the office hasnt been the best at times. It has definitely improved. I believe it will continue getting better. I love to share him, so others are blessed too, as long as you let me borrow him for my follow ups.😅 Office is so busy that it is often impossible to get a hold of them. Really, if you have to reschedule or cancel an appointment, there is a big possibility it wont happen, as soon as you would like to. But he deserves a 5 star because as a doctor he outweights all the rest. Have a blessed day.👍😊

The best neurologist in the Tampa area. The building looks rough, its difficult to locate the side road, but quite simply I havent found a better doctor. We drive 75 minutes one way because he has earned our trust, and helped me recover from my stroke.

What an Apiphany I had once I was able to address the issues with my three herniated cervical disc, meeting with Dr. Martinez has made all the difference in my care management for my injuries. His physical therapist was informative and very helpful in my ongoing therapy for stretching and further care management.

Dr. Robert Martinez has been an amazing neurologist and resource for me as a patient. He is intelligent and knows what he is doing. I needed a neurologist like Dr. Martinez. A neurologist who possesses the knowledge of knowing the appropriate adjustments that needed to be made on my treatment plan, and that is exactly what he did. The changes he has made have been nothing short of amazing. I am incredibly thankful I was referred to him, and tremendously appreciative for all the positive results he has impacted on my health. It took a lot of guts for me to leave the neurologist I was with at the time, but doing so is honestly the best change I have made yet. My traumatic brain injury journey continues to improve each appointment with Dr. Martinez I go to. I confidently refer everyone to him seeking a kind, experienced, results focused neurologist who zooms his attention in on the health and recovery of his patients, not on prescribing medications to develop their vulnerability, and racking up their bill.Kind regards,Christy Toledo

I was nervous about finding a neurologist after I moved to the area. My insurance website gave me a list of doctors I chose him and I am so glad that I did. He is a knowledgable and motivated doctor. What makes it best is that he is conversational and friendly which makes it easier to explain any medical issues or symptoms that you may be unsure of. He then explains things in a clear and understandable way. The only thing I can complain about is the long drive to his office, but I refuse to see anyone else.

I am not one who writes review unless someone was either truly amazing or truly horrible. Sadly I have to report that my experience with this doctors office was horrible. Dr. Martinez is very knowledgeable and treats the person not the disease. He was very thorough in ordering every test he could think of to try and figure out what was wrong with me. He always told me if I needed anything to call the office or the emergency line and he would be in touch with me.I recd my MRI results reporting that the lesions in my brain indicating that I had MS. It was after hours and I panicked so I called my doctor because I was scared what this could mean. He made me feel like such an inconvenience when I called. Granted there wasnt really anything he could do, but I was already stressed and to make me feel like I am inconveniencing you is just not good bedside manners. When I did finally have my appointment with him he decided to prescribe me 1000MG of prednisone (aka Satans tic-tacs) until he could do more tests to get the confirmation of the diagnosis. I was having horrible side effects from the prednisone and ended up getting the flu. I had no idea what I was able to take for this as many medications cant interact with the prednisone. I called his office and his emergency line trying to figure out what I could do. He never called me and it wasnt until 3 days later when I called his office that they told me what his recommendations was. This is just negligent behavior from both the staff and the doctor himself. To make matters worse, after I had a lumbar puncture I had complications from this procedure. Again I called his office and his emergency line. No response. I called the office again the next day and they said the doctors response was to have me go to the ER. NEGLIGENT!He could not be bothered to call me for 2 emergency situations. His staff could not be bothered to call me with updates either.I wish it ended there, but it didnt. Once he confirmed my diagnosis he prescribed me a medication and advised that I fill it at a pharmacy. We later learned that this medication has to be ordered through a specialty pharmacy and the insurance required an authorization. Myself and the specialty pharmacy were on top of my doctor office everyday to get them to send the start forms and the prior authorization to the insurance. It took a month for them to send the start forms and NEVER completed the prior auth.I decided at this time to try and see a specialist for my disease, but could not get in to see her until January. I decided to keep him as the treating doctor until I could see her. I am so happy that I was a priority to my new specialist because they were able to see me less than a month later. During the process of trying to get my medication through Dr. Martinez decided to have my new doctor write me the prescription instead, because his office had no idea what they were doing. This was just my experience and I shiver to think what others might have gone through. I am a social worker and this is not how a doctor or his staff should treat people. Do yourself a favor, find someone new.

2 weeks ago I went to this office as they take the insurance I have. The Doctor was awesome, but the staff is the worst ever. They were supposed to have scheduled an MRI 2 weeks have passed and they have not done anything. I have called asking for them to do it or to give me the prescription so I could do it. Sll they do is take a message and no actions. I asked to speak with a manager they said the manager was busy and that all they could do is take a message.Worst place to go, I feel bad for the doctor, but his staff is horrible and lack customer service.Doctor Ramirez, you may want to fire them all and te hire professional staffs that hss the knowledge and will take that extra step to assist a client other than keep taking messages. Because that is all they do.

While Dr. Martinez may be an extremely respected neurologist, his office and his office staff leave much to be desired. His office off of MLK is a disaster area. Files and boxes everywhere and the front reception area looks like a rats nest. It looks like it hasnt been maintained or cleaned in quite some time. His office staff are rude and evidently do not understand HIPAA privacy laws as they loudly call out patient names from the waiting room - first and last names. They continued to try to charge me for a bill that was already paid and had submitted the forms directly from my insurance company showing the payment. It took several weeks to resolve this issue. Get new staff or train the ones you have to be polite and pleasant and clean up and organize your office. Your first impression is dismal.

I wish there could have been an option to give black spots instead of stars in review. This was my biggest mistake of life that I visited the office of Dr. Robert Martinez, I had issues with my wrist, shoulder and ankle, they had restricted motion. Upon his suggestion I did MRI, MRV, visited Ortho, physiotherapist, arthritis doctor, Wrist specialist, and finally when he could not make out what is the issue, he suggested me to go through Lumbar puncture where in they make a whole in your spine by drilling through it and take out the spinal fluid, its the worst treatment I ever had and guess what nothing found in results. The next day of Lumbar puncture I could not get up from my bed, as soon as I get up within few seconds I get severe headache, this was the side effect of Lumbar puncture. I somehow managed to go hospital in a taxi (alone) and they again did Lumbar puncture on me and fixed it. Still my issue was not identified as all reports were clean. Finally I went to my home country and within 1 hour by looking at my facial expressions the doctors told me that I have parkinson and they put me on syndopa trial. I was amazed and astonished how can this disease was not known to a neurologist in US, do they not teach this in their practice...? whereas every neurologist should know it by books. I did not had much time to take action against him, But I seriously do not suggest him to anyone. He simply works on Trial and Error method but not with any knowledge. THE WORST EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD. I suggest Martinez to attend few lectures and seminars on neuro science and get his knowledge brushed up.

Courteous. Treats, greets you with the upmost respect and most importantly--he listens! Cant say the same abt the staff. They need more training or something. One person will tell you one thing, then someone else will tell u something totally different. Its OK to just say: Ill find out, rather than the pt running around like a chicken with its head cutt off. Overall, hes really sweet compared to Dr Anoop Reddy, not a ppl person at all. Its good to feel welcomed anywhere you go. Dr Martinez, takes the time to LISTEN and tell you what ur options are and hes not in the exam room for 5 mins. nor does he rush. Hes there long enough for you to understand what steps need to be taken next. Keep up the excellent wrk and I will see you in 3 weeks.

STAY AWAY! I had the most horrible experience Ive ever had at a doctors office here. I came 15 minutes before my appointment time and was left sitting in the waiting room for 1.5 hours before being taken to an exam room. Other patients before me were extremely disgruntled, complaining of a 2 hour wait and that patients who arrived after them were seen before them. I also had a patient arrive 20 minutes after me, be seen and released before I was out of the waiting room. When they finally took me to an exam room, they left me sitting for another 10 minutes before a staff member came in to say that Dr. Martinez was going to attend a deposition for a court proceeding before he came to see me. They told me I had to wait another hour or more before he would keep my appointment. At this point I had already been there close to two hours. I was appalled that a doctor would ask a patient to wait 3+ hrs to be treated, especially after waiting two weeks to get an appt. In addition, the building was filthy & unkempt, very dated and in great need of repair. Between the conditions of the office, the staff and the way I was left sitting, I walked out. Sad to think a doctor cares more about his time then that of his patients. I would have been there close to 4 hours had I waited and received treatment.I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone who cares about their healthcare and is seeking a quality medical provider. Subpar doesnt come close to describing my experience here.

This neurologist is truly the best in Tampa! Compassionate, knowledgeable, sees patients at appointed times, does not overbook appts, spends as much time as needed to address concerns, polite staff. I have already recommended Dr M. to a friend and will continue to do so. Thank you so much Dr Martinez!!!!!P.s. sarah and Carries review is bs in regard to cleanliness. Unfortunate that she had a bad experience, perhaps she was not properly prepared??? This office IS THE BEST IN NEUROLOGICAL CARE IN THE BAY AREA!!ANYONE trashing this Dr or his practice has waaaay more problems than just neurology. Be nice or GO AWAY. Dirty, files, boxes, all untrue. Its a small office and they have NEVER misplaced any of my records and they are organized. If its untrue and you post it on here IM CALLING YOU OUT..... Im there once a month. Keep being awesome dr m!

A TRUE DISASTER.I read some comments and thought ... sometimes people are a bit pretentious or complain about everything, but I swear to you that the attention is a disaster, really.Call 5 times so far this day and they cut off your phone. I left a message for them to call me and they wont call me back. They give me medical prescriptions and I dont know where to do them, (supposedly it is there, in the same place, but no ..). I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT, I WOULD NOT RETURN TO THIS PLACE.Do yourself a favor and choose another place. Youll have a headache with calls and their assistants. The doctor does not speak Spanish very well.
