Literally the worst place to try and get in. I have been calling for 2 days to make my daughter a sick appointment and nobody ever seems to answer the phone. I dont know how they still have business honestly. I love Mrs. Meghan and Mrs. Bessie but thats about it!

Thank goodness for Katie, the lactation specialist at Best Start. I really cant say enough great things about Katie and my experience working with her. She has been knowledgeable about all things baby and extremely thorough in helping me on this breastfeeding journey! Breastfeeding has been one of the most challenging parts of being a new mommy and Katie helped navigate me through it all. I never felt uncomfortable, judged or anything short of total support and kindness during our sessions. Katie was a huge help and a constant reminder that I was doing a great job (words you need to hear when dealing with breastfeeding issues) She has been readily available for questions and concerns that come up; incredibly knowledgeable and patient! I can not imagine working through this aspect of new mommy-ing without her. I probably would have given up on breastfeeding a few months in. Go see Katie, you won’t regret it!

We have been going to Best Start for my daughter’s first newborn checkup all the way to now seven yo. The staff and Doctors are excellent and always make you feel like your needs are valid and important. Dr. Megan is the best! My child gets excited when she learns she has a checkup! I do wish they had a “well child” waiting room for kids coming in for just checkups.

The doctor and nurse practitioners at this clinic are amazing. Theyve guided us through each infant stage and we are looking forward to continuing to bring our daughter here!

I really like both doctors here, however their phone system is terrible. It rings one time and goes straight to voicemail, if you’re lucky enough to get anyone to answer then they transfer you to that same voicemail. I’m not sure why they can’t have a system where it just puts you on hold and plays elevator music until someone answers. Or have someone answer and if their busy they ask you to hold until they can get to you. The times I have left a voicemail I don’t get a call back until days later. I’m honestly not sure why no one will answer because when I take my daughter for appointments, no one seems too busy. Also the last two times I’ve been, I’m up there 2 or 3 hours before I get to leave. I had an appointment at 2 and showed up 10 min prior and didn’t leave until 5. Which is frustrating when you have a newborn. Hopefully they can work these issues out soon because both doctors are great, but these things are big drawbacks.

Any time I call for an appointment, it goes to voicemail. If I do get someone on the phone, they will transfer me to that same voicemail. When a client calls on the phone, they want to talk to a person and get something accomplished, not be put off until convenient for your office staff. I have been in the clinic many, many times, and have yet to see the front desk staff be too busy to field calls.

I can’t say enough how much I love taking my daughter here. I’ve been taking her since she was a newborn and I have yet to feel silly for any reason I’ve brought her in. I’ve seen Megan, Bessie & Dr. Averitt and they’re all so amazing!! They thoroughly explain the situation and want you to understand. The phone system can be annoying but what dr office doesn’t have this issue, they’re busy getting the kiddos in I always assume.

Weve had a great experience here. Dr Averitt and Miss Megan have been kind, helpful, and good listeners. Unfortunately their phone system is very poor and it is difficult to get through. If my children needed more frequent medical attention the phone system would be a great deterrent. Clinically, we are very pleased with the care weve had thus far.

Dr. Averitt was extremely rude. After having issues with breastfeeding, I expressed concern that my daughter might be dehydrated. She basically told me off, saying that I needed to let her worry about my childs health. A couple of days later my daughter was hospitalized for 48 hours DUE TO DEHYDRATION. Needless to say we never returned to this incompetent, snooty doctor.

We love Best Start Pediatric! We found Dr Averitt after frustrating experiences with a couple of other pediatricians. My daughter was hospitalized at 18 months for high fever and I really felt like Dr Averitt was engaged in helping us figure out what was wrong with her. We have been going to this clinic ever since. Although, I will echo the previous review that that two minute long voicemail that you have to listen to before you get to a person every time you call in is super annoying. But all in all weve been really happy with this office - Dr Averitt, Megan, Staci and Yvonne are all great.

They always take our concerns seriously and are happy to help. They have a very fun kid friendly environment and can always seem to fit us in in an emergency.
