My husbands visit was 4/29/2021 , the staff was very nice and friendly. However Dr.Francis wasnt very nice at all! He told us that he was not accommodated to meet my husbands needs. My husband is totally disabled and in a wheelchair but I didnt think that made such a big difference. He didnt have a friendly or caring attitude at all. Our Primary care Dr. Referred us to him but you can believe that I wont send anyone to him to be humiliated like we were!!!!

Dr. Francis performed cataract surgery on both of my moms eyes. She had such a wonderful experience at his office and at the surgery center. She has worn glasses most of her life and now she reads 20/20!!! She can now see colors that she hasnt seen in a long time! I cannot thank Dr. Francis enough for taking such good care of my mom! He and his staff have truly been a blessing to her.

Just had a great experience at Francis Eye Center. I had a prescription and just needed to find glasses I liked. I usually have a hard time with that. Heather was so helpful ! She helped my sister and I find the perfect pair. I loved the styles they had on display so much I also bought a pair of prescription sunglasses while there. Heather was very nice and patient and actually made the process enjoyable. She didnt rush me and helped me narrow down the search. Im so happy I went there! Thank you Heather!

Our moving company had the pleasure of moving Dr. Francis and his practice into a nice, new, larger location right into a highlighted area of Spartanburg on St. John Street. He and his staff are great people, very genuine and receptive. The office they have moved to is big time and you can see they are really going places. Id recommend a visit based off the personal experience we had with them alone!

Although he is very friendly he failed to diagnose such a simple condition as dry eye syndrome despite the fact that I told him and his staff what I was experiencing. I went untreated for 4 moths suffering severely and unable to see well. Now I may have permanent damage to my eyes because no matter what I have used I have been unable to correct my vision to read and use the computer. The glasses prescribed are of no value since I cant see with them. Instead he rushed me at my last visit because he had a contractor waiting for estimates on his office remodeling. He did lasik to my left eye which helped with the fogginess in that eye but never once addressed the other problem especially with my right eye.

BEWARE! I was given a thorough and complete eye exam on Monday 9/23/19 and told my eyes were very healthy, given a minor prescription for glasses if I chose to fill it and some drop recommendations for dryness. Less than 40 hours later I woke with one eye stuck shut full of yellow guck and grit. Thinking it may be an allergic reaction I called and described (yes I said just one eye) and was told to use moisture drops and it would be fine in a couple of days. When my morning fog brain cleared, I realized it was an infection and called back for an immediate short appointment for antibiotics.I was told the earliest he could see me was Friday. This was Wednesday! When telling her I had to leave for an out of town wedding at 7 AM on Friday, she said, well then, if it’s still a problem I should come in on Monday. Knowing this had to be taken care of today I talked with a nurse friend who used to work at an eye office. She said any eye doctor would take me if I just walked in and showed them what was going on, especially after having had a clean bill of health just two days before.I am mediately went to the office. By now, it was even worse, constantly having to wipe guck and swelling progressed to the side of my face. The gal at the desk looked at me and said he was absolutely too short staffed and too busy to see me today. Even after letting her know I’d been on chemo and could not let any infection go, she wouldn’t go so far as to ask him. She finally said someone had not confirmed a 9:00 appointment the next day and I could come in then. I said fine, but drove straight to an urgent care that I should have considered earlier. They were appalled that the eye doctor wouldn’t see me and took me immediately, especially having had a clean bill of eye health two days before. In a very short time I had a prescription for an antibiotic. Thank goodness, as by Friday morning I could see it spreading to the other eye so was able to start the drops before it was as bad. Not a good look for wedding photos but at least on the mend...Being new to the area, I was a new patient and had scheduled next years visit before leaving. However, I WILL NEVER GO BACK! Not because of the doctor butFirst: Because I live alone and had gone nowhere other than his office before or after my appointment, I’m concerned about the cleanliness of his office and equipment. There is no other place I could have picked up the infection.Secondly: I’m also very doubtful of his guard dog’s training and or common sense when someone comes in the office with my type of emergency. I did mention this to her when I called to cancel my appointment early Thursday. Her answer was, “Thank you. If you ever need help, just call us.” My answer was “I already tried that yesterday.”PS: His waiting room was empty except for me!
