The doctors there are the greatest around. I have been seeing them for over twenty odd years and dont plan to change anytime soon. Dr. Karl and his assistants are wonderful. He is very knowledgeable about anything I need to know.

Tried to establish myself as a new patient with this group. Filled out the necessary paperwork online and submitted. When I hadn’t heard anything in a few days I called. I was told the application process could take up to two weeks. Three weeks went by and I still had not heard from this group. I called again. I was told that my application had expired and I would need to fill out another one. So I did. Waited a few days and called to make sure they received it. They had and said that they would review it and someone would be in contact with me. Life got busy and I didn’t call back for several months later. I was told that my application as a new patient had been denied. I asked why and was told that they don’t have reasons for denying new patients nor do they call to let you know that you have been denied. They only call you if you have been excepted as a new patient. I asked if they were excepting new patients at this practice and was told yes but that my application had been denied and she had no reason why.Totally unacceptable way to operate a medical office. My suggestion is that Family Physicians of Spartanburg take some notes from Medical Group of the Carolinas...I called them and within 5 minutes had an appointment as a new patient to see one of their doctors that same week.

Dr. Karl is a great doctor! He is very knowledgeable and staff are just as amazing. Every time Ive been to this office it is clean and the reception area is spacious. Whether it be in person or on the phone the medical professionals here always have a smile on their faces or in their voices. My husband and I would definitely return if we moved back to SC.

I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. The practitioner I was seeing often made things very inconvenient (like switching my appointment because she wanted to leave the office early) and made me wait 2 hours and 45 minutes once over an appointment that literally takes 5 minutes (just to make sure my medicine was still working for me). On top of that, this practice always felt like a scam office, like they don’t care about patients and just care about money. For example, just to diagnose a sinus infection they would take my blood. I’ve had so many unnecessary tests run by them over the years that were meant simply to run up the bill. One practitioner even enlightened me that I was being charged twice on a copay than what I should be charged on my insurance. I’ve recently changed doctor’s offices and I’m very satisfied with where I switched to because they treat me like a valued person and not just a paycheck. I will say that it is convenient (if you live near them) that they do fill prescriptions in office. Aside from that, I really don’t have many pros on this place.

I never mind my visits here. The staff is awesome and friendly and very organized. And they are good at getting everything done in a timely manner.

Staff is very polite when you’re there. I had a sleeping issue and instead of recommending methods to try first doctor recommended medications. I used it for it for a year and switched doc because it didn’t get better and new doc found thyroid problems that can associate with sleep disorder. Upsetting I didn’t get it resolved sooner since I am regular with doctor visits. However grateful it is being managed now. Prefer GHS system but this is a good office over all

Our family has been so blessed by this office and the staff of Dr. Wiley. They are so kind and patient! They take their time to answer questions and make sure the best medical care is provided. Thankful for Dr. Wiley and all his nurses!

Despite some unpleasant phone conversations with nurses, this office has very good doctors. They are easy to work with and will take the time to explain what is going on. The office is also a one-stop-shop with their own in-house pharmacy. While there are a few employees I would prefer to avoid, the office, as a whole, is a great place to be seen.

I have always been able to get a same day appointment. The receptionist are very helpful and competent. They are friendly and recognize me and my family when we walk in. The office is clean and well kept. There is a kids area with a table and books. There is a fire place and coffee. I love that they have their own pharmacy so I can get my prescriptions right away. We love our doctor, Dr. Wiley. Myself, my husband, and my kids see him. We just love the nurses and my kids are always comfortable and happy. Our doctor and nurses know who we are and I feel we are listened to and cared for each time we visit.

I have seen both Lisa and Kevin at this location, and they are wonderfully kind and attentive. Definitely recommend.

Hands down, a great experience! From start to finish, this is a professional office with great attention to detail. The entire staff is smiling and very pleasant and we found Dr. Wiley to be calm, knowledgeable, and helpful. My daughter looks forward to her doctor visits, and our whole family will be shifting our general care to the Family Physicians of Spartanburg. Im looking forward to my first check up, too! :)

Family Physicians is an excellent choice for your families medical needs. They have a pharmacy and radiology unit on site. The staff are friendly and the lab techs are professional. There are a group of doctors, but after you apply to be a patient, youll be assigned to one doctor. They do accept Medicare and other medical insurance companies.

It is a busy office with plenty of friendly help that so far has proven to be knowledgeable and caring.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Lee Taylor for 26 years and have had the best experience at Family Physicians of Spartanburg. If youre looking for a family doctor, I would highly recommend Dr. Taylor and Family Physicians. They treat you as a person and really take the time to understand what is wrong and your not just another number.

I had to speak to 10 different people over the past week to get my issue across. People keep transferring the call from one scheduler to another. Then to the nurse, and so on. And you have to explain the issue to everyone in this chain of command. On top of it, everyone is super rude. Wait time is horrific. Last visit waited over an hour before the doctor showed up. Horrible. Just horrible. Skip this place and seek another clinic. Maybe even doctors care. Faster and cheaper.

Ive been a patient here for 25 years... I have been very happy with Dr. Yost and his staff. Occasionally they are not able to see me for a last minute appointment, but that is to be expected in a good practice. The new office building is nice.

I am 26 years old and have been seeing Dr. Mark Knipfer of Family Physicians of Spartanburg since I was a 7 years old. This office has completely suffered in quality and patient care these past 2-3 years. They recently moved to a brand new clinic and with the new clinic came a new level of arrogance from the doctors and the staff. The clinic itself is state of the art and very nice, but the way they treat their patients is horrible now. My wifes personal doctor recently retired and she decided to join Family Physicians of Spartanburg. She has been trying for over a month...YES...a month, just to become a MEMBER. We have been getting every excuse you can imagine; ranging from: We lost the application, the doctor is out and my personal favorite; I dont know whats going on, call back tomorrow.I recommend you find another doctors office if youre thinking about becoming a member, theyll lose all your paperwork; this is paperwork with all your information and social security numbers, and theyll give you a run around. IF you do get to see them, you get the joy of surrounding yourself with a staff of nursing assistants and doctors that theyre Gods gift to this town. I left, I have already found a pediatric group for both my kids with a great staff and intelligent, caring doctors. Also, they accepted my children as members of their clinic the same day I called to see if theyre group would see my children.

Good doctors not much of a wait if you have an appointment

I am going to make this short and sweet so you cant go ahead and quit searching. If you want to have a fantastic family doctor, I recommend Dr. Taylor. I am sure the rest of the facilities doctors are great but I can only speak from my personal experience. He will take care of you in the best way possible, FOR YOU. Hes a wonder-doc and if you need a good family doctor, he is the choice for far too many reasons to list! In addition, the entire facility is not only state-of-the-art but so is there equipment, technology, capabilities and the staff is fantastic! Very, very easy to deal with. This is the place to come, you can now end your search!

Can not say the same for the billing department I was released due to a $109.00 error on a copay, spoke with Melissa who told me she reviewed my situation with my doctor and could do nothing for me. She is very low class and probably never spoke with the doctor, $109.00 stands between a patient that was faithfull for 6 years?

We completed all the necessary steps for approval for minors to become patients with Family Physicians and were notified that approval had been made. All forms signed for records and insurance information provided. Waited weeks (more than a month) to have appointments. When we arrived we were told they were sorry that they did not take the insurance for the minors. When we explained the process we had been through, the receptionist checked their records and indicated that indeed we had and that it was their error however would provide NO services. In my opinion this is not a group that I wish to provide services. I have to wonder exactly what oath these physicians took.

Dr.Taylor is hands down the best doctor in the upstate. Hes very thorough and will get you better.

Let me start off by saying I hate doctors and dentists but Im here to tell you that all the staff and Dr Wiley have been exceptionally understanding of my PTSD and my general fear/anxiety of doctors in general. After speaking with my doctor and the office manager, I was enlightened to the fact that most of the political ties they have in place are SURPRISINGLYdictated by the insurance company. (Which I will be having a chat with later.)So to make things truly as they are, Family Physicians IS the most compassionate and understanding team of doctors and nurses. And I apologize for my unwarranted attack on their practice.I have been a patient of theirs since 1978. Dr. Knipfer was my 1st doctor and is just amazing and will even have the nurse call to follow up. I cant begin to say enough about Lisa Colasurdo; the easiest thing is to say that I love her to pieces and I cant imagine having anyone else take care of me. I would also like to give Dr. Boyter my unending gratitude for being there for me and saving my life.I hope thet readers will reread my comments that have been adjusted. Id reccomend Family Physicians to anyone! They are family.

Amazing doctors. Every time I have been there they have been very courteous and kind and know a lot about what is going on with my sickness. In my opinion theres not a better place to go when I am sick or feeling bad.

This practice is horrific. If you actually want to be treated like a human being do NOT go here. I was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease to which Dr. Knipfer and his staff said yipee! because I could be their guinea pig and they would be able to try out a new drug, yet when it came time to get the drug approved through my insurance, they did not return phone calls and messed up every step of the process. They then released me as a patient IN THE MIDDLE of trying to get the drug approved for my treatment. So now Im left without a doctor, without treatment, and diagnosed with a RARE, PROGRESSIVE, DEBILITATING disease. They should be ashamed of the way they mistreat people. All they see is a number and a $$$$.

Hello,Today is Dec 27th 2017 and my wife and I have received a bill from LabCorp for lab services on Thryrotropin Receptor Ab, Serum and Urine Culture, Routine that she did not agree to have them done, because she specifically asked the staff not to perform services that were not covered by her insurance. We find it appalling that Family Physicians of Spartanburg is billing us for a number of services provided that were not covered by her insurance during her annual physical which should be free. She was not notified that lab services were not going to be covered and the staff at family physicians took advantage of her. She feels no longer can trust the staff at this facility. Therefore, she has cancelled all her future appointments until this issue with the billing is fixed. For a facility that claims to honor Jesus our Savior, we certainly can not believe we are being taken advantage of in such a dishonorable way, charging us for services that she did not ask for and that where not necessary during her visit for the physical.

Good doctors and good care. However you will always be seen somewhere around an hour after your appointment time.

Perks:-Never wait to be seen over 15mins-I can take my baby- theyre amazing! They can do anything* even if I take her!-On site pharmacy- walk straight out of the doctors office, check out, drop by the prescription desk/pharmacy on the way out the door to grab your meds, and go home. Everything at one place!-Drs are amazing (Knipfer is the best, most thorough dr I have ever had)-Can be seen quickly if I have a problem-Only took about a week to get accepted as a patientClean well kept very nice place, friendly staff- smiling faces with scrubs on everywhere in the building!

I just got off the phone from calling Family Physicians. Their brochure says they seek to honor Jesus Christ as Lord and their goal is to serve Christ as we serve our patients.Dont fall for that! Its only a very tired sales pitch.I called to see if they accepted my health insurance. I wont use her name (rhymes with Jenny) but she said she had never heard of Consumers Choice Health Plan. I told her that Family Physicians of Spartanburg was listed as a preferred provider by Consumers Choice, which is one of the ACA insurance options.She was very snotty and VERY arrogant when telling me that they dont accept any of those ACA plans and then she abruptly hung up on me. Im glad she did because I avoided doing business with them.Other than their brochure, Im pretty sure the only time these people say Jesus Christ is when they are cursing the disgusting sick and the poor people.Stay away from these hypocrites!!!! Stay far away!!

When pay to have a physician see you then you should see the physician instead of a nurse practitioner. Request to see the Doctor told that it can’t be done to see the Doctor.

Ive been a patient with this group for years. Dr. Knipfer was/is my primary but Ive been seeing Lisa Colosurdo, NP for several years now and I feel that she takes good care of me so I have no NP vs Drs. issues. The fact is, for those of us who are on disability or Medicare there must be ways to help keep health costs down and utilizing the skill of an NP is one of those ways.

I am not a patient. I called ONCE. to see if they were accepting new patients and to see about my son getting a sports physical examination with them. Thelady that answered the phone was extremely... EXTREMELY RUDE. The lack of costumer service shocked me, I can understand a rude tech support, in other forms of business, so to say. Ive been on tech support call for 75 minutes once with att. With an outsourced costumer rep who spoke broken English, we both had hard time understanding each other but that experience was paradise compared to the MINUTE. If even that, I had with the woman I talked to at this facility. Mind you I dont know a whole lot about insurance. Co Pays. Deductables. In network. (Ive since read up) because BEFORE I COULD EVEN FINISH MY QUESTION HER RUDEEEE A** CUT ME OFF. NOT ONCE, BUT 3 TIMES ALL TO REQUEST HERSELF ALL THE TIMES. you have to go to our website for that I thought her job was to help ppl who didnt understand or dont mess w or know how to internet. Lol.I didnt even bother looking at their website.

Ive been a patient of Family Physicians now for 28 years. The care and love of this pratice is unlike any other in spartanburg. I would allow every member of my family and recommend EVERYONE i know to see ANY of the providers in this pratice. They are all family oriented and their first priority is the care and wellbeing of the patient. They will ask you to fill out a New Patient form, it is worth the fill out and they will respond within a resonable amount of time. HIGHLY recommend.
