Dr. Woolen actually cares about his patients. When I went to my initial consultation about removing my gall bladder & a liver biopsy he told me that he it wasn’t necessary to remove my gall bladder if it isn’t bothering me. He carefully explained the biopsy to me and answered all of my questions. I asked if he could oversee my biopsy. He set it up and summarized the results for me. I feel safer with him paying attention to my situation. You don’t find many doctors like that anymore.

My 87 yo mom w/dementia (sundowners) had an appointment w/Dr Woolen after her Reg Surgeon retired (a partner Dr Woods) Dr Woolen was so personal & easy with her! She loves him! Incredible!! The way he spoke to and spent time with her! A very positive experience!

Performed my wifes gall bladder procedure in July 2021, with flying colors. Self-deprecating, humorous, but deadly serious when it comes to medicine. I could not imagine a better experience than we have had with Dr. Woolen and every member of the staff in Spartanburg.

Dr. Woolen was very thorough and explained everything so I can understand it. His whole office did a great job and made me feel very comfortable.

Very dissatisfied with surgical procedure on loved one. Procedure was done incorrectly. After realizing error in procedure, the procedure should be corrected immediately (not if something goes wrong again). If I could give less than one star I wouldve. If I had an ant farm and one got hurt, I wouldnt let this Dr. operate on it.

Nothing everyone was great especially the nurse who got me checked into room amd scheduler who scheduled my colonoscopy

Was first told by billing that insurance would cover my procedure. Then was told I had to pay. Did not receive the treatment I needed as well.

Dr Woollen seemed great and caring at my consultation. However when I had my gallbladder removed I never got to see or speak with him before or after my surgery. He knew how nervous I was and I think there should have been time to talk with me at some point. My surgery was also pushed back two hours without any notification. His nurses then told me I was glue together when in actuality I was stitched together and needed different care instructions when I got home that day. Getting ahold of a nurse at the office is also absolutely impossible. I would NOT recommend this office for you’re procedure. This is probably one of the reasons malpractice is the third leading cause of death in the us. Even the simplest of surgeries and tasks are impossible for some people to accommodate.
