The Stimson-Green mansion is a well preserved reminder of what old first hill used to be like.

From the moment we walked in the doors you could see the history all over and how well it has been taken care of over the years. Last December we had the honor of photographing a D&D Themed wedding that fit so beautifully into the over all texture of this beautiful space

We were married at the Stimson-Green just last month and we were so amazed with excellent service and the beautiful venue. It was the perfect wedding! Thank you so much for the incredible attention to detail and wonderful service. Our guests were all in awe of the mansion and weve had so many compliments on the mansion. Recently attended a wedding at the Stimson-Green Mansion Wish I knew how to post pictures because this old home is stunning. It would not work for a large wedding, but perfect for the 60 isn people we had. Staff was friendly. Food was great. Love the decor! So much history, very elegant.

Public tours available on the second Tuesday of each month. Beautiful home, wonderful tour guide. An incredible slice of Seattle history.

Theres not a bad spot to shoot photos in the entire building. The staff is super helpful. Highly recommend having a smaller wedding here.

If youre looking for a place to host an event in the city of Seattle, there is no better place. The Washington Trust for Historic Preservation does great work & Washingtonians are lucky to have such a committed group.

If youre trying to choose a Seattle wedding venue and are looking for something elegant and fairly economical, the Stimson-Green is a wonderful choice. We were married there on 1/1/09 and were beyond thrilled with the experience. Gillian Bauman, the events coordinator, is friendly, tasteful and knowledegable, and has a knack for offering her expertise without trampling on the bride and grooms ideas. A caterer as well as a venue, the Stimson-Green is also a bastion of sanity during the wedding planning process. Couples who prefer not to complicate their budgets with multiple vendors and want to know costs up front should consider this historic property, where they will receive expert guidance and event service (including the bartender) fantastic Northwest food (which the out-of-town guests wont stop talking about - one of our few local guests even said it was the best salmon hed ever tasted), and all the stressful little trappings (no need to rent tables, chairs, linens, china, flatware, etc.) Also, if you want to do an iTunes wedding, this venue is ideal; the existing sound system plugs right into a laptop and feeds into the library speaker system (we worried about the iTunes decision but it turned out to be brilliant - dont let the dire warnings of the American DJ Association scare you if youe thinking of doing this!) And if youre planning to get married during the holidays, the Stimson-Green will already be beautifully decorated, leaving little to do but centerpieces (essentially all we brought in were centerpieces, favors, bouquets, the cake, and the liquor). We had about 60 people at our wedding, which was the perfect number for this venue (it can host a larger event, but we chose not to open the downstairs). Our guests flew in from all over the country and from England, and everyone exclaimed over the house and was delighted with our choice - we are still getting e-mails, not only from them, but from our friends who couldnt make it, who are hearing all the raves from the people who were there! One last note: we read reviews elsewhere, when initially looking for a venue, saying that if you want dancing at your wedding, the Stimson-Green is not the way to go. This statement should be amended. Certainly its not a giant, gleaming ballroom (its carpeted), and if you want 100+ guests to dance the night away, then no, the Stimson-Green isnt the best choice, because its too intimate. There is limited dance space in the library once the tables are set up. But once we got our music going, our guests danced all night, because the size of the party was right; there was even room for an impromptu Conga line at one point. I think that even a wedding of 75 would be able to dance quite happily here. In any case, if youre thinking of including the Stimson-Green on your short list of venues, do it! We really cannot recommend it highly enough. It is absolutely worth exploring; and if you ultimately decide to get married here, then congratulations on a fine choice!
