While I appreciate the work the employees do and the store itself, prices are exceedingly high at this location. Frequently, clothes are priced strangely high in spite of being used and sometimes having notable wear and tear or smells. I always thought of goodwill as a haven for people to purchase nice clothes without the financial burden of buying them new. That’s why we donate them for each other to benefit from. Yet, prices are can be just as high as buying new. Specifically the prices are contorted in their black tag fashion section. However, escalated pricing can be seen elsewhere too. What is the point of this? Your business acquired the goods for free. Is the extra money going directly to your low income workers to substantially increase their salaries and benefits? If so, great. Or is it further padding wealth at the executive level where more money is unnecessary?

Dont bother, prices are absolutely ridiculous.Used to shop here regularly and loved it. Apparently theyve had massive turnover recently and it absolutely shows. Hour long waits for donation, lines that wrap the store to check out with one or two cashiers, aisles dirty and too narrow. I found THREE products on the floor priced at $4 and they still had their original store tag for between $2.50 and $3. Less than two weeks to halloween and they have less than one row of costumes, and the are MESSY as hell. I now take a 45 minute bus to the next nearest shop

Each Goodwill has its strengths. This Goodwill has a HUGE dvd section, vinyl record section, furniture section (heavy on the chairs), and womens clothing & purse section.Probably one of the largest furniture chair selections at a Goodwill in the area.I dont know who priced some of the items... but THANK YOU. Found a new Wooden Chess Set for $2.99! Ive found new high-end womens clothing here (with tags) for less than 5% of tag value! So, if youre into items I listed on my first paragraph, this Goodwill is a must visit.Mens section is small. Beware, guys. (Lol!)Only thing Id recommend is showcasing purses/ bags behind the counter by spreading out the merchandise. Somewhat hard to inspect the items there when its all packed tightly together.5★ experience overall. Friendly employees & store is neat.

1) Arbitrary rules regarding drop-off. Prepare to wait in line to be told “no furniture - we’re full” but they’ll take everything else. No way to find this out until you get there. (So don’t rent a truck!)2) Management doesn’t care when informed about selling stollen items. They’ll argue that it is rightfully theirs because it was given to them. Will not set aside items while waiting on determination of rightful owner. Instead, they’ll continue to insist it’s theirs unless you buy it. Skeezy and uncomfortable.3) I’m all for reuse (it’s not all about price), and there are some really good deals, sometimes. HOWEVER, there are also many, many, many items priced above new. So if (despite the above) you decide to go - know the standard retail price of the items you have in-mind. If in doubt, price check in store (oh, bad cell service in the building. Nothing they can do about it, but just a tidbit).4) Remember, your neighborhood probably had a Buy Nothing Facebook group (yeah, tisk tisk Facebook, but dummy profiles abound in those groups OR find a neighbor that is part of one!) great way to give and get locally - and know your items are going to use :)

Ughh, what a stressful location...Ive only been here for a month but cant believe people actually line up around the corner to donate, impeding traffic along the way. It just really shouldnt be allowed or they should re-route it to the other adjacent street.Besides that Ive discovered that their prices are suspect. I even had a confrontation with the check out clerk who tried to reprice something at check out...a bag of wires (???). So yeah...not going back there.Plus they should really relocate or figure out a better donation scheme (in the Bay Area and Boston they had Goodwill trailers that were pop-ups to divert traffic. That seemed to work well).

A pretty good Goodwill, hence the 4/5 stars...As you walk in the front doors you will have a broad view of the entire store. Jewelry and collectibles are laid out on the right, clothing in the middle, check out line on the left, furniture in the back right. The clothing was sorted well, mostly by color and appropriate sizes. Really not much out of place which is surprising for a store this size.I was in on a Monday and pretty much only had my eye on the pink $1.79 tags but most items seemed to be reasonably priced. Ive been to a few goodwills that had way too high of prices for what the item was worth. (example: $14 childrens shoes from target for $12.99 :/ )I browsed the art/frames selection and was less than impressed. A small inventory with mostly poorly taken care of pieces. The parking lot is just OK. Not super huge and the spaces are long and narrow.Overall I would recommend giving this location a try if youre in the area.

Donation hours are a scam! I tried to drop off a small bed frame twice, both within donation hours listed on Google. The second time I called ahead and was told that donations were being accepted. Both times the donation entrance was blocked. The website says furniture donations are accepted, but I was told by the attendant that they are not. Get it together!

I enjoy going to the place and find good values sometimes. However in my opinion they overprice stuff too much and a lot of it is junk and/or it doesnt even work!Another thing I dont like this is Goodwills policy of only giving you credit on a debit card type of device, when you want to return something, makes it very hard to want to even buy anything over $50 because if you buy something for $200 and it doesnt work youre basically out your $200 and youre forced to go and buy stuff from Goodwill for that amount of $200. In my opinion there should be a certain level that should go on Goodwill debit card, lets say fifty bucks and the rest of it either gets paid back onto your debit or credit card and/or in cash if you bought it in cash. That way somebody doesnt feel like they just lost their money in purchasing something of a higher value from Goodwill.Plus at one time you could actually find usable good quality musical instruments and devices and various a but now all of those things are non-existent. I cant believe its because people arent donating them, I think its because probably Goodwill is grabbing a hold of them and selling them to a higher price customer.

There is something therapeutic about shopping for the sake of shopping. I think it is important to bucket your time so as to have plenty spare for going to the Goodwill. Ballard Goodwill is a bit off the beaten path taking up in an old decommissioned Safeway store located on a corner lot with plenty of parking. But no necessarily ample parking as it turns out that hiding off the main drag makes this a ultra popular store and donation center. At times It can get downright hard to find a spot to park. And if you are looking at dropping off some items lately the line goes all the way down the street. A little further north and It would easily be mistaken for a border crossing. Now, getting back to budgeting your time let me just say that reading this is not an effective time budgeting tool. And if this is your first trip to the Goodwill...well? Thats surreal. Everyone else.... you know what youre going to do when you get there. So get there already. Just remember if youre not having fun - youre doing it wrong. Tootles

This is a large Goodwill which allows for a decent amount of things but that’s pretty much all that’s good about it. Housewares are extremely poorly organized, it’s nearly impossible to get anything from the shelves without knocking other items around. Furniture section is also messy and poorly organized. Clothes are arranged absolutely nonsensically which makes it extremely difficult to find anything. Shoes, like the rest of the store, are beyond messy and just thrown onto shelves. Prices are absolutely abysmal - I will never be able to comprehend how this store can justify charging $25 for a used shirt which they received as a free donation. I have found identical items at upscale consignment stores in the area for lower prices than this Goodwill. To add insult to injury the cashiers are nearly always rude. I have had a single positive experience with a cashier (a nice woman with short hair, I wish I remembered her name to praise her) in the dozen times I have been here. You can find an occasional gem here but in general not worth the treatment from the staff or the absurd prices. You’re better off driving out to the suburbs for your Goodwill experience. I can’t comment on the donation process under normal circumstances, but I will say under covid it is absolutely nightmarish, with multi-hour waits that impede traffic for multiple blocks.

Me
Review №28

Donation process is painfully slow. I hopped in what looked like a short line (first time in months Ive identified an opportunity to drive straight into the lot vs wait 5 blocks), and still waited over an hour. Half the time Im here the staff is rude for no apparent reason. They must be as frustrated with customers as customers are with the process.Highly recommend the other donation locations (24/85 and 15/85) as they are speedy with pleasant staff, but sometimes this location is required due to item type.

This large warehouse-style Goodwill is the largest Ive ever been in. Parking is adequate and access is easy off of Interstate 5. Keeping with the size of the store there lot of clothes, shoes, obsolete electronics/cameras, household goods - like plates, glasses, pans, implements, etc In the electronics section I bought a replacement for the Comcast remote stolen from my Moms. Some art, too, and lots of books. Toilets for customers, but fragrant!

I waited in the donation line for an hour before being told I couldnt donate my item. Afterwards, I checked the website and the exclusion wasnt listed. Im frustrated because I logged out of work early to make the donation time-slot.Im also frustrated because the donation area could support two cars, but only one car was allowed to unload at a time. When I suggested efficiency, the worker told me they lacked the manpower. I saw three fully capable workers so what I assume he meant was a lack of MANpower and work ethic. That was mean - but no thanks to Goodwill - Im exhausted and dehydrated.

Overpriced - Save your money for a different Goodwill.Ive been shopping at this location for nearly 8 years and I think that has come to an end. Ive always given them business but I just feel sick when I look at their tag prices now. Recent management changes or something has led this store to Jack prices way up.Theyre pulling tons of stuff out of the normal section, pricing it way up and labeling it as Fashion Focus. Their prices are way off, anyone with a phone and eBay can tell that.I photographed just a small sample of what theyre marking as Fashion Focus and putting high prices on. See pics.Worn, donated Levis for $25-30?? Out of fashion 7FAM jeans for $50?! The prices are laughable. I typically see the same brands/styles at every other goodwill around here priced at $8, 10, maybe $15 at most.It really takes the fun out of thrifting to see this.

Current instructions for drop-off due to COVID-19 are not available on the website. Anyone intending to drop off donations should be prepared to arrive at least an hour before opening, or wait up to 90 minutes as of 09/21/20. Due to popular demand, waiting line can extend up to 60th Ave NW if not longer.Rating is only for current situation and set up; to move things through faster, Goodwill could easily set up three distanced donation stations due to length of parking lot, but they only allow one vehicle at any given time to drop things off.Make sure you can handle anything you drop off by yourself; Goodwill employees cannot assist you in any way.

Good things about this goodwill: the selection is plentiful. The quality is usually good (but be careful for holes or stains on clothing and furniture etc) and the turnover is genially fast so you don’t see the same stuff week after week.Things i wish would change: the prices are sometimes over retail for the same item new (particularly kitchen items and recognizable brand clothing). That said often enough you will find something unusual at a price that keeps you coming back.
