Dr Tanner and his team are AMAZING! Seriously one of the best dentists Ive ever had. Ive had poor experiences in the past, so I am always a bit nervous about seeing a new dentist. I came in recently for a routine checkup and cleaning.Amy checked me in at the front desk. Let me tell you... she is SO friendly and welcoming, that woman is a gem. I felt right at home. Radmilla was my hygienist. We had a fantastic conversation. She really has a great heart and you can tell that she loves what she does. Dr. Tanner projects positive energy and he calmed any anxiety I had about the dental work I needed. They were able to schedule me the very next day. Yvonne was the sweetest dental assistant ever. She is a saint.I recommend anyone and everyone to book their next dentist appointment at Seattle Sound Dental and see for yourself.

Obviously, every person you come across has their own opinions and experiences regarding dentists and dental procedures. For me, I always enjoyed the dentist, but I took an extended break from seeing a dentist regularly and I definitely had some issues that needed corrected. Moving to Seattle, I knew I needed to be better and Seattle Sound Dental did not disappoint. From the staff, to the facility, to Dr T, the experience was calming and amazing and my teeth are on the way to being the best they can be. If you need dental care, I would highly recommend!

I cant say enough about how glad I am I chose this dentist out of my provider list!Front desk staff is both professional and fun, friendly and caring regarding scheduling needs and insurance coverage. My hygienist, Olga is the best in the business and believe me, Ive been through a few!Front desk brought me blankets for my time in the chair when they heard Id forgotten my fleece as a blankie. They let me choose my own music, whatever I wanted to help me relax.Im not scared of going to the dentist anymore because of this experience and I actually can look forward to my next appointment, which I never thought Id say or feel. Have been going there for a while and had a good experience with Dr Tanner and the hygienists but their office doesnt pay attention to the estimates and the insurance details. They didnt look up my insurance coverage and sent me a large bill later saying that my insurance coverage was lower than what they initially told me (because they assumed a higher coverage). Their response to this screw up was also very casual and seemed to suggest that this happens more often than it should.

Dr.Tanner and his staff are amazing! Went there for two teeth extraction, I was super nervous and scared. Both extraction were done in less than 5 mins, he is extremely careful that you don’t feel pain. The process was quick, painless and smooth. Can’t thank him and his team enough for making me feel so comfortable and finishing the procedure quickly. Thank you so much Dr.Tanner! 😄

I have Invisalign retainers, needed a crown and Dr.Tanner used the latest technology, iTero scan, to comfortably replicate the size and shape of my tooth so I can keep my retainers. A few weeks back, after a root canal at a local endodontics clinic that, well, didnt go so great, it was determined that my # 14, my second to last molar, needed to be removed, a full extraction, not a fun prospect. I called around to several specialized oral surgeons who, either, werent able to get me in for the procedure or who would only perform it with a general anesthetic. I needed to get this done quickly with as little hassle and discomfort as possible. I called Seattle Sound Dental who were able to get me scheduled almost right away. This was a difficult moment as # 14 and I had a long almost 54-year ride together. But, forward we went and, when I arrived on Friday afternoon for my appointment, I was treated with the best care I could possibly imagine (especially for one who has struggled with some dental anxiety over the years). The procedure performed by Dr. Tanner was quick and easy and I was made to feel completely comfortable throughout with clear communication about what was taking place - how the procedure would be performed and, additionally, what to expect, post-procedure. It was not only Dr. Tanners professionalism that made this so easy but indeed the full staff, even with a very kind Sunday follow-up phone call from Amy, the outstanding office manager. What was a difficult moment was made so easy and comfortable by the folks at Seattle Sound Dental. They earned all five of their stars and I would give them 6 or more if it was up to me! Dr. Nick Tanner put a crown a my right front tooth that I broke on a bike accident. He did such an amazing job, he was careful and very detailed on the procedure. He made sure I was comfortable and in no pain. I am beyond grateful for my results. My new crown perfectly matches my natural color of my teeth and you can’t barely tell I have a crown. The visit was a very pleasant experience. The hygienist was kind and did a very thorough cleaning. The dentist was friendly and engaging.Unfortunately, this low rating is due to unethical practices. Dr. Tanner stated I needed 4 fillings replaced, which would cost several hundred dollars.I got a second opinion from a trustworthy dentist, who said I only needed 1 filling replaced and all others were perfectly fine.Always get a second opinion for expensive procedures because not all dentists are honest.I will not be returning for this reason alone.

I had avoided going to the Dentist for a few years since moving back to Seattle due to some pretty gnarly and expensive dental surgery in the years prior. I knew I needed to take control of my dental health and face my nerves, so I looked around and came across Seattle Sound Dental. They were listed as a practice that understood nervous or anxious patients and I promise, they did not disappoint. I said on intake that I knew I had neglected my own care and I didn’t want to be mothered. I just wanted quality care and compassion - that’s what you get from Dr. Tanner and the rest of the staff. It’s been a fantastic experience from the first cleaning to installing my long awaited crown on the implant I’d had put in prior. They took care of all my records, accommodated my implant (not their usual manufacturer), and made me feel totally relaxed. I was engaged from the perspective I brought with me and not placed in a box, just very respectful all around. I have already recommended the team to friends who have asked about my experience finishing the implant - and I’m happy to recommend them to anyone reading this review.

I’ve been going to Seattle Sound Dental since 2018 and absolutely love the level of care they provide. I got four crown put in in the last couple of years and I don’t think I could have gone to any other place that would have done such a professional job. Dr. Tanner is awesome 👏 I would recommend this place to my family and friend all day everyday!

The entire staff at Dr. Tanner’s office was friendly and efficient. The dental assistant made sure I felt comfortable, and both she and Dr. Tanner explained everything that was happening in a clam and clear manner. I felt minimal discomfort and was in and out as quickly as possible.

Dr Tanner and his team are very kind and helpful in any way that they can. I have never had a bad visit there. Highly recommend!

I had a pretty awful experience at this dentist. 1) The dental hygienist used a topical numbing agent that gave me a nasty chemical burn. I think she applied way too much of it. I had skin peeling off my gums for several days and I wasnt healed for a week (see images below, note the purple bruising and grey dead skin). 2) Dr. Tanner left me hanging for about an hour while he was busy with another patient. I understand that delays happen, but this was extreme and felt very unprofessional. When he did see me, he gave me about 5 minutes of his time and clearly seemed done with the day. 3) His diagnosis was 5 cavities. This surprised me given that I never had a cavity before and generally take good care of my teeth. The total cost, with insurance coverage, was around $500. This seemed quite high to me. For one filling in particular it was going to cost around $200. Skip ahead three months, I get a second opinion from a dentist Ive been seeing for 25 years. He diagnosed me with 1 cavity (the $200 one) and I was charged 83$ for it...point is I feel this doctor was cavity hunting for money and that their rates are very high. 4) I was assured at the front desk that my insurance would completely cover the cleaning. I was billed the next week for a flouride treatment that was apparently not covered by the insurance. They went ahead with the treatment without telling me or checking with the insurance about whether this procedure was covered. I contested and they eventually rescinded the charge, but I thought this was kind of shady. Overall, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. The people at this office seem nice, but I got a weird vibe...like theyre just barely hanging on and are overworked and ripping people off to get by. I will not be going back.

I have been a patient of Dr Tanner (and Seattle Sound Dental) for several years now.I have had a number of dentists, but NEVER have I had a dentist who is such a strong advocate for his patients. Dr Tanner has handled emergency calls outside of normal hours, even going so far as to call emergency offices when he wasnt around, or texting to make sure I am doing so far.As if that wasnt enough, he is THE most pain-free dentist I have ever had, which is an incredibly important thing for me. I didnt even think it was possible for Novocain injections to be painless, but most of them are, somehow!I became a client before I moved out of Seattle, but I remained a patient -- he is absolutely worth the drive. Id drive to him from Oregon if I needed to. His office staff are absolutely top notch as well. Friendly, considerate, and also do fantastic work.I have zero complaints about Seattle Sound Dental; I will be a patient as long as I have teeth, which thanks to their care will be a long time.

Dr. Tanner and his staff are amazing! I have never had a teeth cleaning in the past that didn’t hurt because of my sensitive gums from my teeth receding. Not until now. On top of it, I didn’t even need gas for my cavity, no pain. Dr. Tanner is very concise, gentle, and very detailed. I’m very happy I’ve taken the plunge in changing dentists. I’m finally happy with my teeth for the first time in nearly 20’years.

I chose this location to get my teeth checked as it is available for my Premera Blue Cross insurance and offers hours after my weekday work schedule. Upon filling out the paperwork online, I was given a call to schedule an appointment the day after. It was much faster than I expected, but I am grateful for the quick availability.When I arrived at the office, I was already set to get my X-rays and teeth cleaned. The staff took all of the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of Covid-19 by checking temperature upon arrival, sanitizing the lobby and equipment, as well as having air purifiers in the operating rooms.After the evaluation of the first appointment, I was scheduled for another appointment the following week to get some fillings. Dr. Tanner made the process very seamless and the it felt more relaxing than my visits from previous dentists.I would highly recommend Seattle Sound Dental as it is in an ideal location in downtown Seattle and has later open hours than most other locations.

I’ve really enjoyed my experience as a patient here so far. The office staff is very friendly and is good about reminders and scheduling. The location is close to many bus lines and the office space has a nice view and is maintained well. The hygienists have all been polite and do a great job. Dr. T is one of the best dentists I’ve had. He does a nice job explaining what he’s doing and is nonjudgmental. Overall I’m glad I found SSD, and I would recommend it!

Like many, I strongly dislike getting dental work done, but overall, had a good experience. Found Dr. Tanner as I needed a new provider who accepted my insurance. Went in for a cleaning and chipped tooth that ended up needing a crown. It was nice to see digital images of the teeth needing work vs. x-rays (cuz what average person knows how to look at those?!). They were able to fit me in next-day for the crown. I get super anxious when I smell or hear the noise of drills (too many past experiences of not being numbed enough), so I blasted music on my headphones throughout the procedure. While it didnt help much, I tried convincing myself it was. 🤣 The team was good at numbing without too many obvious pinches. The temporary crown cracked as they were fitting it, and Im thankful they took the time to fit a new one vs. trying to fix the cracked one. It was the end of the day for all of us, but they didnt make me feel rushed as a last patient. Huge kudos to Dr. Tanner and Leann for not asking questions while their hands or equipment were in my mouth. Ha!

I had been postponing to get my wisdom teeth out since I was 17! And I hurt my gum somehow on the weekend and need them to be removed ASAP. All 4!!! I was so nervous but Nick Tanner is an amazing dentist!!!! I didn’t even realize that he removed the first 2 and when he moved to the other side I was like “is it all done already?!?” Took maybe 20 minutes to remove all four! Time may not be accurate due to some drugs that was involved! 😄 but it was quick! I was cozy laying down with my blanky provided by Seattle Sound Dental! And still no pain after hours.. if I knew it was going to be this easy and painless I would have done it way sooner. And the best part I got to keep a pink mask and a butterfly tattoo!! And their staff is amazing and really knowledgeable as well. His hygienist recommended me the best toothpaste for my teeth sensitivity and it works like a charm!

I had the same dentist for my entire life California.. .when I moved out here I figured I would search for one. Ive always been a little nervous about finding a dentist because I never had to switch dentists before...and it had been quite a few years since Id had a cleaning, BUT this place was awesome! Found them on opencare, super easy to book, and the place is cute and comfy with a really awesome staff. Its a cool City view too, but looks into a hotel so every once in a while you may see some funny stuff coming from the rooms 😂

I was recommended to see Dr. Tanner by my orthodontists office staff as the best fillings they have ever seen dentist and they were right! I walked in without prior call or appt. because I found a spot on my wisdom that suggested a cavity...All I was asked Do you have a few minutes for doctor to take a look? Withing 15min Dr. Tanner was there and evaluated not only that spot, but a couple of other areas I was worried about due to recently having braces put in. No cavities, but what a service!

Normally I hate dentists and absolutely avoid going. I always have had good, straight, strong teeth. However, for the better part of a year I had been walking around with a “low grade” chronic toothache in one of my back molars. Suddenly the pain became severe and after 5 nights of suffering I finally buckled and called Dr. Tanner’s office. It ended up that I needed a root canal, a procedure I dreaded and was hoping to avoid. To make matters more complicated, I am extremely afraid of needles and generally have avoided having anything injected.Well, Dr. Tanner was amazing. Gentle. Pretty painless. Quick. Efficient. Attentive to my comfort. Considerate of my finances. He didn’t let me feel a thing during the entire procedure. And holy moly, let me tell you, I feel so much better. It’s almost like a grumpy fog has been lifted.10/10 - would do it again, but still only if it was necessary. In this case, I wish I would have gone to see Dr. Tanner sooner.I’ll be transferring my primary dentistry care to Dr. Tanner’s office.

Dr. Nick gave me a brand new smile, with a set of new veneers. That night I accidentally broke one of my temporary veneers on piece of ice, I proceeded to call to tell them what happened and they had me come in the very next morning to replace it for free. When doing the work he was extremely gentle, one of the best doctors I’ve ever seen. The staff is amazing and they put 110% of themselves to making sure you have a great experience.

I came to Dr.Tanner a brand new patient after not having been at the dentist for what seems like 10 years. Going into my recent appointment WAY to nervous, Rachel and Dr.Tanner worked their magic to make sure I was beyond comfortable. Rachel even offered me pillows (wrapped freshly for every patient of course!) to ease my dizziness. Amy and Rachel also let me stick around after my appointment, making sure I was 100% okay. I really can not recommend this team enough. Thank you again Rachel, Dr. Tanner, and team!

It was an amazing experience! Front desk was very friendly I totally forgot my insurance card. She took care of everything beforehand. Dr. Tanner was so sweet he explained all of my concerns!! When I got my teeth clean she explained all the things and causes tar build up. I would highly recommend family and friends!!!

This is probably the best dentist I have ever been to. Ive been to several dentists who just go through the motions to get you in and out, but the people at Seattle Sound Dental seem to really care about your well-being and treat you like a person, rather than a means to make a buck. They are thorough with their care, up front about potential costs, and gentle with your mouth. Even if I move out of the downtown area, I will still make the trip to come here for my dental care. They are great.

I have been going to this practice for years and really have grown to love everyone there. They are so caring and gentle and make you feel like a valued patient. Hard to believe I had such anxiety before about dentists...they have really helped me out of it. Leanne is a slice of heaven. She deserves all the raises and bonuses available. 😉

Dr. Tanner and his staff were able to get me in last minute for a filling. My appointment did not feel rushed at all. Very efficient and painless. Very pleased with my visit today.

Dr. Nick and his staff are a great team. They always take the time to explain clearly whats going on and theyre work is spot on. I am glad they are my dentist team. 5 stars! I have had a dozen cavities over the years and Dr. Nick has by far done the best one. He was quick yet thorough and it was the least painful one Ive had.

I have so much anxiety prior to all my dental appointments. I just do not like going to the dentist. My hygienist was great! She was very gentle and patient. Dr. Nick is very good nice and made me feel comfortable.

Dr Tanner is fantastic. Very gentle and really takes the time to explain everything hes doing. His staff is lovely and works very hard to make sure insurance covers as much as possible. I was surprised to learn this is a small office with one dentist, and not a bunch of people practicing together! Made me happy to know the same doctor would be seeing me every time.

He rearranged his schedule and stayed an hour late to personally clean my teeth since some of his employees had the day off. He is a great dentist and I highly recommend he and his staff.
